Chapter 2 –The Battle at The Floating Island of Illusion


The sun peeked over the horizon and its bright rays began to flood the land with its light and warmth. Its glare seeped through
the trees and the campers below began to stir.

Inuyasha opened his eyes and peered down at the girl in his arms. He slowly leaned down and kissed her softly, and her eyes
popped open. She broke their kiss and smiled. "Good morning." she stated happily

He stood up and pulled her up on her feet. "Lets get going, I have a great feeling we night find him today."

They all gathered their belongings and were off to start a new day.

Although they didn't have to walk far when Inuyasha suddenly lifted his head in the air to catch an odd scent. "I can smell human
blood up ahead."
In an instant they all took off running towards the source.

As they approached the village, all that could be seen is destruction and mayhem. Inuyasha heard the scream of a woman and
ran through the village and slashed the arm of a large beetle demon. The demon's arm gushed of an acidic blood which flung
wildly around. Inuyasha unleashed Tesseiga and in an instant decapitated the beetle demon.

"Keh, that was easy enough."

Behind its ragged corpse was a large cart, that had imprisoned many of the local villagers. Kagome ran up to the cart and yanked
the door open with no success. A large lock held it closed with many strange markings and an irregular key hole.

A little village boy ran up to the door. "The demon used its hand as a key." Inuyasha slashed at the lock without success, then ran
to the beetle and ripped its arm off. He carefully brought it over to the lock, placed the bugs claw inside and turned. In success
the door popped open.

The villagers stepped out and thanked their rescuers.

Kagome approached the same young boy. "Hey what happened here?"

"This bug demon said we were being taken to an island and were going to be fed to its prisoners."

Inuyasha crouched down and asked. "Where did he say he was going to take you."

"A magic floating island that cannot be found." the boy said.

"That doesnt make any sense kid!"

Suddenly Miroku cut in."I have actually heard of this magical floating island. It flows with the waves but can always be seen
by the lands borders. The island is almost impossible to reach because it has the most powerful barrier ever known. The only
way to get onto the island is to have a special enchanment spell placed."

"This must be Naraku's doing, why else would such a powerful barrier be used." Sango stated.

"Actually Sango, this island hold's the spirits of the Four Goddesses of Reason. It needs a powerful barrier so no one interrupts
the peace of their spirits otherwise havoc would be unleased." Finished Miroku.

Inuyasha cut in. "It all makes sense now. No one would find him on an enchanted island with the most powerful barrier ever known."

"But how did he get on this magic island first of all?" Kagome Inquired.

Miroku thought for a moment...."Only goddess know the enchanted spell, he must have captured one and forced her to tell him the
spell."

"No, not captured one. He had her with him all along.....Kagura."

Shippo looked up at his comrades thoughtfully. "So how do we get on the island?"

Miroku looked at everyone. " I got an idea."
