Inuyasha, Ninja Master
Chapter 2: Inuyasha, Ninja Master
Inuyasha peeps his nose out of the well into Kagome’s world. He frowns and pouts, unsure of what to do next. 'I can’t eve eve Shippou goaded me into coming here. Now what? I can’t let Kagome see me yet. I’m sure she’s still angry. But I can’t go back now either. Ugh.' He crawls out of the well and looks around, making certain no one has observed his entrance. 'I’ll scope things out first. Maybe she’ll be in a better mood than I think.' Stealthily, he makes his way toward the house, cursing the sun for still hanging in the sky. 'Feh. I should have waited for the sun to set. But what if she decided to come back, and found me hiding in the well?' He shakes his head. Cowardice was not his thing.
He freezes, sniffing the air and discovering the scent of someone he did not recognize. 'That’s not family. Who’s visiting?' Inuyasha leaps onto the roof and carefully negotiates his way toward the front porch. He peers down at a skinny young boy holding a package. Inuyasha snorts. 'What’s this? A delivery?'
Ji-chan opens the door and greets the lad. “Ah, Hojou! I’m sorry, boy, but Kagome has come down with a case of pneumonia.” Inuyasha’s ears perk up. Kagome sick? When did THAT happen?
Hojou is also concerned. “Oh, I had hoped she would go to a movie with me tonight.” Inuyasha growls at this. 'ANOTHER suitor to contend with? Why that scrawny little…' “But I knew she might not be feeling up to it, so I brought her this tea and some homeopathic bath salts. Please give these to her and tell her I hope she feels better soon, okay?” He bows, waves goodbye and walks away. Inuyasha glares at him. 'What was that all about? Just how many guys are after Kagome, anyway?' He leans his ear against the roof to try and hear any further conversation about the visitor.
Ji-chan sighs. “I’m running out of ideas for diseases. I’ll be glad when Kagome stops gallivanting off to the feudal era. It’s too hard for an old man like me to keep this a secret!” Inuyasha sighs with some relief. Kagome wasn’t really sick after all.
Souta frowns at him. “But Ji-chan, Kagome is home!”
Ji-chan looks at him in shock. “She’s here on a weekend? What, did she have another fight with that demon boy?” Inuyasha growls. Why did they automatically assume it was his fault?
Souta shrugs. “She didn’t say anything about it. She just took a bath and went straight to her bed.”
Ji-chan shrugs back. “Is that so? Well then, let’s all go out to dinner tonight so she can sleep in quiet. Besides, it’s better to be out of the house in case she wakes up in a bad mood.”
Inuyasha sighs again. At least if Kagome was asleep, she couldn’t yell ‘oswari’ at him. He gingerly makes his way to her bedroom window.
