Together and finally whole

Sesshomaru walked through his palace doors to be greeted by his mate with a tight hug.

“Oh your home! I’m so happy!”

Rin began to cry and hold him even tighter. If Sesshomaru was no a demon he feared that she would have seriously hurt him. Normally this public display of affection was not to be tolerated but as she was pregnant her hormones were slightly out of whack and it was making her extremely emotional. Although to be greeted so made the ice lord feel warm inside although he would never out right say so.

“ Kichi?!”

The fox demon appeared very quickly knowing better to dawdle at her lords call.

“Do me a favor? Get someone in the kitchen to boil some gingerroot and rosemary for Rin. Mother said that it will sooth her stomach enough to eat properly.”

Kichi and Rin both smiled, they had been hoping that he would return with work like this. It had been a full 24 hours since Rin had eaten more then dried bread. Kichi swiftly ran to the kitchen and informed the cook who quickly went to work on the tea. It seemed that not only did Rin win over the ice lord but also the entire contents of the palace and everyone was waiting for her to get back to her normal self. Rin was sitting at the table when the cook and Kichi arrived. Sesshomaru rubbing her stomach to try and calm it down. When given the cup she drank it thankfully and everyone waited and watched as Rin sat up straight and smiled for the first time in a week which in turn made everyone smile. Rin ordered all her favorite foods and everyone in the palace was more then happy to accommodate her pregnant apatite.

“Thank you so much everyone, I do believe that this was the best meal I have had in a long time.”

“Thank you Lady Rin”

“How many times do I have to tell you guys. You can just call me Rin?”

Everyone looked to Sesshomaru who smiled and nodded giving his approval to which everyone smiled back at the benefit to call the lady of the west by only her name. That made them more then servants, but friends.

“Sorry Rin. Is there anything else we can get for you?”

“No I’m quite full at the moment, but if you could have a lot of that stuff brewed I would greatly appreciate it so if I feel sick in the middle of the night I wont have to wake you.”

“Rin you know that you can wake me! I have no problem with doing anything that will assist you in feeling better”

“Yes, I know. But all the same I do not like having such a fuss made over me. Just please do this or at least put it in my room after it’s brewed. So then I don’t have to even get up to wake you or wait. Then I wont have to move more then necessary.”

Everyone knew there was no arguing with that statement. Everyone was trying to get Rin to take it easy for weeks. If this would keep her from moving in the night at least they would do anything that she wished.

“Rin, you truly are the lady of the west. You are as artful in deceit as the lord himself.”

Sesshomaru grunted.

“Trust me, you have no idea.”

Everyone laughed even Sesshomaru himself. Then he picked up his mate bridal style.

“You have gone through to much. Let this Sesshomaru draw you a chamomile bath to relax you and then go to bed?”

Normally Rin would object to having to relax but the bath did sound rather inviting.

“Ok. I guess I’ll humor you with that.”

“Good, because there was to be arguing with the matter. Kichi go ahead and inform Sia to draw the bath while I carry Rin and get her bathing things.”

“Yes my lord.”

Kichi again ran and did as she was told. Sesshomaru carried Rin to the room where her tings where gathered and their bathing robes were put on then carried her to the bath. He slowly slide her in where she relaxed and closed her eye as soon as she was fully sitting down. Sesshomaru then slide close to her wrapping her in his arms against his chest. He enjoyed these moments with Rin. Naked to the fullest but no sexual thoughts circulating. It was the intimacy that Rin provided him not the sex that he enjoyed to the fullest. Although he did have to admit when Rin got in her moods, he would not trade those nights for a simple bath. Rin opened her eyes and looked at her mate.

“Yes my mate?”

“Can we go to Kagome’s with Kichi tomorrow?”

“Why?”

“Well I want to thank them for the remedy but also it has been a while since we went there. They are always coming here and I do miss traveling with you so much.”

“But Rin, there are many things out there that can harm you. What if a demon attacks, you could be hurt, or the pup could be hurt!”

“You will fend them off. I have no worries. You are far more up tight then I thought you’d be.”

Sesshomaru growled. He knew she was right, he was over reacting to this. Any demon to come along the way would be no problem for him and as soon as they got near the village it would be protected by Kagome and Kin’s barriers. Rin smiled pleadingly at him and he knew he could not say no.

“This Sesshomaru will go with you and Kichi. But only if you promise not to leave my side until we are near the village.”

“Why would I?”

“Oh, I don’t know… pick some flowers, find a cute animal…”

Rin glared at him. She finally got him to joke around with her but she did not realize it would be at her expense.

“Promise….”

“Good. I will inform Kichi as soon as we get out.”

“Good.”

They both relaxed again enjoy the warmth of each other and the water.
