Consequences

Jaken tripped over a stone, the third since he managed to crawl out of the remains of some one’s hut.  Why oh why did he serve such a cruel lord?

Gasping for breath, he angrily kicked a rock only to have it ricochete off the corner of a tree and hit him in the head.

‘Curse it!’ He yelled.

There was a moan, and he turned around and jumped three feet in the air.

Giant insects were devouring the dead. Lord Sesshomaru found this place but was in such a foul mood that he killed every one of its inhabitants.  It had been Jaken’s unfortunate chore to hide them from site.  He didn’t want Rin to see them.

An insect raised its beady eyes and turned towards Jaken.

Jaken took a step back, eyes wide with fear.  He turn and fled in the direction of the trees.

‘Lord Sesshomaru wait for me!!!’
