Kiss And Tell
Chapter Seventeen
Sango woke up feeling groggy and extremely hungry. Her body felt sore and cramped, she was laying on her stomach. Her body also told her to head to the bathroom. Her senses told her she was alone in the bedroom. Which meant she'd have to get up on her own. She sat up on the edge of the bed, letting her head stop spinning.
Using the wall to support herself she made her way to the bathroom. The floor was cold on her feet, she ignored it. She soon braced herself against the sink and looked at her reflection. She almost screamed, that was her. Deciding to do something about it, the hot water was used to wash her face. Feeling slightly better, she quickly combed through her hair. Okay she didn't look dead anymore.
The room was still empty when she made her way back to the bed. She was tired again after her short trip but she felt better. The edge met her legs, she sagged down. Her eyes closed, remained even when she heard the door open.
She felt hands touch her shoulders, her eyes opened to find Kurama squatting in front of her with a concerned look on his face. Wow even his hair messed up, who'd have thunk it. A small smile graced her face at seeing his rough appearance. His hand came up to touch her cheek then her forehead.
"How do you feel?"
"Worn out and hungry." She heard her stomach growl in agreement.
He smiled at her, "Let me help prop you up in bed and I will go fetch you something." By helping he slid his arm under her legs and the other around her neck. She held on as he moved her up the bed. He propped a few pillows behind her back. "Does that hurt your back?"
All she could do was shake her head, his face was only a few inches from hers. So close she could see how soft his lips looked. He was saying something trying to get her attention. "Huh?"
"I said I'll be back in a few minutes, try to stay in bed."
She blushed at the look he gave her, "Okay." She buried her face in her hands. What was wrong with her? He was trying to see to her health and she was thinking about the one time he had kissed her. Of course he looked different but would it feel any different?
She looked between her fingers when the door opened. Kagome came in all red faced, running over to the bed. "What is wrong?"
"Nothing. How do you feel?" Yelling could be heard on the other side of the door. "Glad you finally decided to wake up."
"What's going on out there?" Sango could hear Shiori yelling.
"Nothing, really."
Sango made a move to get up, "I'll go see."
"Don't you dare get up." Kagome blushed even redder than before. "Okay, Shiori kind of saw something a few minutes ago and she's not too happy about it."
"Go on."
"She walked in on Hiei and I kissing." Kagome lowered her head, wringing her hands in front of her.
"Damn how long was I out?"
"Only two days."
"That was fast, did you throw yourself at him again?" Sango saw her head snap up and smiled.
"I didn't throw myself at him, he did it."
"But you just said she caught you two kissing. Which means you were kissing him back. I black out for two days and wake up to find my girlfriend has been stolen." Sango laughed at her horrid expression. "That's it, wheres my sword. I'm going to kill him for touching my Kagome."
"Shut up."
"So how was it? Since you like to ask me."
Kagome crossed her arms over her chest, "I'm not answering that. Besides I'm not the one that's been sleeping with a man for the last two nights."
"Excuse me."
"Oh, that's right you were out cold. Didn't you know he's been sleeping next to you." Kagome laughed as the tables were turned. "Gotcha there. But to answer your question, it was... hard to explain."
"Made your whole body feel like it was alive, toes curling, so exciting to the point it was scary." Sango answered for her.
"Yeah, how did you know? Miroku?"
"No."
The door opened again and Kurama came in carrying a tray. The miko flushed under his quick smile, damn the man had really bad timing. Kagome got up, "I'm going to go take a shower and head to bed. By the way, I think I know who you were refering to."
Sango tried to keep the blush from spreading across her face. The tray was placed in front of her, he didn't say anything as he walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later she heard the shower running. She wasn't sure what kind of soup it was but ate anyway. After getting her fill she placed it on the nightstand, she'd never make it to the kitchen.
Removing two of the pillows, they went back to the other side. She inched her way down the bed till she was comfortable. Which was on her side facing the empty half. Her eyes closed as she listened to the running water.
She woke up around two hours later, when something started touching her face. Her eyes popped open at the touch. Green eyes were directly across from her own, staring intently. Her breath caught as the hand cupped her cheek.
"How do you feel?"
"Fine." The hand left her face and he rolled over giving her his back. She closed her eyes and willed herself to go back to sleep. Yet the touch remained on her face, calling for her attention. His touch had still effected her the same way. His approach had been different than last time but had the same end results. Why him? What was it about him that had called to her all those months ago? Guilt filled her as she thought about it. She'd been angry at Miroku for being with another woman but did she have a right? Deep down she knew that if the fox wouldn't have left and if she hadn't been attacked; she'd have given herself to him.
Kurama layed on his side knowing that she was still awake, he could sense her distress and guilt. His thoughts went back to the week he had spent with her. The kit had made mention of the husband finding pleasure elsewhere, he had wondered at the time why. Yet if the miko was indeed her lover, it would explain everything. If she prefered the company of the same sex, it would only make sense that he woud find release elsewhere. Then again, where did that leave him?
He felt it the moment she slipped back asleep, he felt his tension ease some. He knew Hiei was enjoying his discomfort, the fire youkai often commenting on his so called fan club. Just his luck the one woman he wanted, he'd never have.
