Betrayal
Chapter 17:
"Naraku....." breathed Sesshomaru as he advanced towards the waiting demon.
"Sesshomaru. Today has seen the end of Inuyasha. Shall you be the next one to die?" Naraku taunted as he prepared his vines and blades for battle.
Instead of answering with words, Sesshomaru chose instead to go on the attack. Moving with startling speed, espically taking into account his injuries, the dog demon quickly crossed the distance between himself and Naraku, spearing through the demon lord with Tokijin before he had a chance to bring his barrier back up.
But Hakudoshi took advantage of Sesshomaru turning his back on him to take up the offensive, throwing several demon slugs at the dog lord. Sessh countered by dropping his sword and activating his whip, slicing the slugs through and dissolving them with his poision. However, the distraction was enough for Naraku to withdraw and activate his barrier.
"Hah hah ha...Sesshomaru, nice try but you cannot defeat us that easily. It's useless to try and resist." Naraku again taunted as his body was regenerated thanks to the power of the sacred jewel shard.
"Inuyasha was mine and mine alone to kill. Now die....Dragon strike." explained Sesshomaru as he held Tokijin level and unleashed his most powerful energy attack upon Naraku.
The demon responded by using his barrier to deflect the attack back at Sesshomaru. "Now you will be the one to die."
Sesshomaru didn't even try to protect himself, but rather jump up, allowing the reflected Dragon strike to pass beneath him. Hakudoshi gasped as he found the energy attack coming straight towards him. Fortunatly the kid had his barrier erected, and so suffered no damage when the attack hit him. But his barrier was dissolved by the powerful energy wave.
Moments later, Tokijin spliced through the dust cloud, catching the little boy in his chest and pinning him to the ground. Although he was wounded, the little kid smiled at Sesshomaru disarming himself.
Naraku saw his opening and sent his tentacles through his barrier to sorround and kill Sesshomaru. But the dog demon sliced through them with his whip, and landed next to the Tetsuiga. Picking up the sword, ignoring the barrier which was burning his hand, he transformed the sword and unleashed a wind scar attack against Naraku.
The suprised demon was enveloped within a claw of yellow energy, then pushed backwards into the wall of the castle.
Sesshomaru dropped the sword, blowing on his hand softly, which was a dark pink color due to the burning effects of holding the sword. He had hoped that the barrier would not exist due to his half brother's death, however it seems that his gamble has failed. But with Hakudoshi pinned down, now the only person he had to worry about was Naraku...

Kagome was watching the battle from the sidelines, tending to her mother's injuries while observing Sesshomaru taking on both Naraku and Hakudoshi without a bit of fear at the uneven numbers.
Suddenly though she found herself being dragged up by someone's grip.
"Move a muscle and I'll slice you to shreds." came Kagura's voice as the wind demon held Kagome by her ears.
"What do you want?" Kagome hissed as she prepared her powers of purification.
"I want you to follow me and promise not to purify me when you do so." said the wind demon. She promptly released her hold on Kagome and started walking inside the castle.
Confused by the actions of the wind demon, Kagome decided to follow, and to not purify the hell out of the wind demon.
Yet.....
