The Power Within

Ok so here is chap 16. i hope you like!

Chapter 16: Hearts Restored and Ashes Buried

Tsuki quickly closed his eyes and slowed time. In that split second a bright flash occured and dissapered. The arrow hit Kikyo's body and a loud scream came from it.

"No!Kikyo what have you done?" shouted Inuyasha.

Kagome's body dropped the bow and held her hands up. Tears were streaming down her face. She looked at Inuyasha.
nuyanuyasha it's me Kagome," said Kagome from her own body.

Inuyasha's shoulders dropped. He ran over to her and embraced her. Kagome squeezed Inuyasha tightly. She was so happy to be back in her own body and in the arms of Inuyasha.Tears streamed down her face. That's when she noticed that she was wearing Inuyasha's red fire rat kimono. That meant that they .....

" If Kagome's back to normal, that means that Kikyo is back in her body," said Sango.

They looked over at Kikyo. She was on her knee's and hands. The souls she had collected drifted from her body. Her soul collectors tried despertly to get them back to her body.

"Why are they back to normal?" asked Koga.

Suddenly a flash of light came through the trees and the little dragons busted apart.
They looked up and from the trees dropped Akuma. His cold blue eyes stared at Kikyo hatefully. He kicked some dirt in her direction. It landed on her and soiled her white robes. Inuyasha growled at him. Akuma just smirked at the half-demon.

"You switched them back didn't you?" asked Inuyasha. He held Kagome close to him. Everyone kept their eyes on Akuma. He was not to be trusted.

Akuma smirked. He looked down at Kikyo. She was so pathitic. He spit on her. That made another growl come from Inuyasha. True she had tricked him. But she didn't desever to be spit on.

"She was going to betray us. So I had to punish her," said Akuma. He unsheathed his sword and brought it to Kikyo's neck. Kikyo was growing weaker from the lost of souls. Kagome knew she had to do something. She couldn't let Kikyo be murdered again. But before she could anything Akuma raised his sword and brought it down. It was caught by another sword. Tsuki pushed Akuma's sword away and ponited it at Akuma.

"Your pretty brave boy," said Akuma.

Tsuki narrowed his eyes and his sword started to glow. Akuma could feel Tsuki's power radiateing from him. Akuma sheathed his sword and jumped into the tree.

"We'll meet again!" shouted Akuma.

Tsuki's sword stopped glowing and he sheathed it.

He turned back around and looked at Kikyo. His sexy blue eyes looked down at her. They were full of sadness. Sango walked up beside him and grabbed his hand. She put her other hand on his shoulder. That's when she saw the tears in Tsuki's eyes. He was such a senstive man. Akuma was wrong, he was not a brave boy. He was a brave man. A very brave, careing, sexy man. Every day he did something that made Sango fall more in love with him.

"Even if she has done horriable things, nobody desreves to have their head cut off," said Tsuki.
Kikyo looked up at Inuyasha and Kagome. She understood now that she and Inuyasha were never meant to be. If they were she would have lived. And it was true, she never really trusted him.

"Good Bye Inuyasha, take care of him ...Ka...go...me..," Kikyo said very slowly. She then dropped down to the ground. A bright white light brusted from her. A piece of a soul drifted up and went to Kagome. Kagome closed her eyes as the missing peice of her soul returned. Inuyasha gripped her. He knew her and him would have to talk about what he did with Kikyo. The bright light faded. Where Kikyo's body had been was a plie of ashes and soil from her grave. Kagome released Inuyasha and walked over to Kikyo's ashes. She got down on her knees and put her hands together in a prayer.

"I pray that you may find peace now Kikyo," said Kagome.
Inuyasha came up behind her and kneeled down as well. He too put his hands together and prayed for Kikyo. A small part of him still loved her. But it was nothing compared to the love that he felt for Kagome.

Sango gripped onto Tsuki. Tsuki put his arm around her. His long black hair started blowing into Sango's brown hair when the wind picked up. They both said slient prayers for Kikyo.

Koga stood completely still and clasped his hands together in front of him. He lowerd his head and closed his eyes. He said a slient prayer. Miyako ,who was still on the ground, opened her eyes and groaned. She sat up and rubbed her head. She saw everyone huddling over in one area.

"What the hell?" said Miyako.

She stood up and walked over to them. She looked down and saw Kikyo's ashes on the ground.
Tsuki opened his eyes and looked at Miyako.

"Aren't you going to say a prayer for her, Miyako?" he asked.

"Hell no! The stupid bitch hit me!She doesn't deserve my forgivness or my prayers!" shouted Miyako.

She turned on her heel left.

Inuyasha growled at his sisters friend. She was so disrespectful. Tsuki shook his head.

"Don't worry Inuyasha. Miyako actually does feel sorry for her but she will never admit it," said Tsuki.

Inuyasha caught a scent in his nose and turned around. Miroku came into the clearing with Kyoto in his arms. Shippo was on his shoulder. Inuyasha could smell that she had gotten sick.

"Miroku what happend?" asked Inuyasha as he got up and went over them.

He could see that Kyoto had passed out. But from what?

"She got sick and then some demons attacked us," said Shippo.

Sick? His sister had gotten sick? Inuyasha growled. He could smell the demons as they came closer.

Kagome's eyes suddenly got very wide. She turned to Inuyasha.

"Inuyuasha I can feel some jewel shards coming! Three to be exact," said Kagome.

Inuyasha quickly unsheated Tetsusagia and ponited it in the direction that he smelt some demons.

Coming through the black of the forest was the last remaining Vixens. The demon Choo had her huge black wings folded against her back. Tonbo glowed with an eriee light. And Hatsuyuki. She carried Kyoto's Naginata in her hand.

"What are you doing with my sister's weapon!" shouted Inuyasha.

"Relax dog. Miroku's carrying Kyoto so he can't carry it. anyway what the hell do I want with this thing?" said Hatsuyuki. She held it out to Inuyasha. Inuyasha was afraid to let go of Tetsusgia.What if this was a trick. So Kagome stood up and took it from her. Hatsuyuki walked back over to Choo and stood next to her.

"Thank you.What are you doing here and why do you have jewel shards?" asked Kagome.

"Let's go home and I'll explain every thing," said Miroku.
"Good idea. Miroku will you scoop up Kikyo's ashes and perform the cermony for the dead?" asked Kagome.
Miroku nodded. He handed Kyoto to Inuyasha after he had sheathed Tetsusigia. Inuyasha took her and started back to the village with Kagome next to him. Sango and Tsuki followed. The Vixens stayed far back as they followed.

With Shippo still on his shoulder, Miroku bent down and scooped Kikyo's ashes into a cloth bag that he pulled from his robes.

"Come Shippo lets go home," said Miroku.

Kagura stood outside a door with her back pressed against the wall. She unfolded her fan and cautiosly walked into the room. She went over to a large pot. She could hear a loud thump. She looked in the jar and saw her heart. It was still beating.
Thump. Thump. It was going in a slow steady rythem.

Kagura reached in and took it out. She removed the top of her kimono and her chest was exposed. She reached behind her and pulled a knife out of sash. She brought it up and slit her chest. Shok hok her heart and thrusted it into the hole. Her heart started beg rag rapdily as it reattached it's self to the arties that surround her heart. After a few mintues the transfer was complete. The cut she had made healed very quickly. Kagura threw the knief down. She pulled her kikmono up and retied it. Kagura heard an nosie and could sense who it was.

"Kagura what are you doing, sister?" asked Niji.

She walked into the room. Kagura was betraying them? How could that be? She was one of them.

Kagura opened up her fan and turned around. She held it up and towards her little sister.

"Sister what are you doing? How could you betray Master Naraku?" asked Niji.

Kagura scowled at her.

"Are you blind? Or just stupid? Naraku is scum. He treats us like shit. And that son of his is bad news. He is even more evil than Naraku could ever be," said Kagura.

"No! He is good and helps us! We must obey him!" said Niji.

Kagura felt sad for her little sister Niji.She was brainwashed just like her older sister Kanna. They could not see what Naraku truly was. They would die for him. And that bastrd did not desrve it.
She held up her fan. She swept it back behind preparing to attack Niji.

" Get out of my way or you will die," said Kagura.

Niji reached at her sides and pulled her sia's out.

"I will not let you betray Master Naraku!" shouted Niji.

Her sia's started glowing with a bright golden light. She jumped in the air and pointed her sia's at Kagura.

Kagura swepted her fan and blades of wind came forward. They struck Niji and she fell down. Niji had cuts all over her body. She groaned as she turned herself over. Kagura walked past her sister and to the balconey that was outside the room. She took a feather from her hair and tossd it up.

As she rode through the breeze Kagura thought, ' I have little time before Naraku finds that fool. I must find Inuyasha and the others before he captures me and takes my heart again.'

Inuyasha and the others stood around Kikyo's new grave as Miroku performed the cermony of the dead. Even Koga was there. Kyoto was sleeping in Kaede's hut.Shippo was staying with her. Miroku had asked him to look after her.The Vixens were off in the woods. Miroku had explained about their allaince. Inuyasha was uneasy about it, but they made their small army grow.

Kagome had no clue where they got the jewel shards from and she really didn't care. Kagome had on a kimono that she had borrowed from one of the ladies of the village.

Miroku finshed the cleansing and put the jar with Kikyo's ashes in the grave.

Inuyasha and Kagome coverd the grave with fresh dirt.Miroku said a little pryer and sprinkled the grave with blessed water. The cermony was over. Miroku went back to the hut to check up on Kyoto. Koga also went back to Kaede's hut. Sango and Tsuki bowed their heads and headed to the hut as well. Kagome stood in front of the grave. Inuyasha placed his hand on Kagome's shoulder.

"Inuyasha......we need to talk," said Kagome.

Naraku walked into the room where he kept Kagura's heart. When he enterd he saw Niji lying on the ground.

" Niji what happend?" asked Naraku.

Niji slowly pushed herself up on her knees and lowerd her forehead to the floor.

"Master Naraku forgive me. Kagura has betrayed us by stealing her heart back. I tried to stop her but she was to powerful for me. I am sorry Master Naraku," pleaded Niji.

Naraku looked down at his incarnation. She obyed and did whatever he asked of her. Should he punsih her?

"Punsih her father. She deserves it. Letting Kagura get away like that," said Akuma as enterd the room.

Naraku looked down at her.

"Fine punsih her," said Naraku.

Akuma smiled. He walked over to Niji and ripped her off the ground by her hair. Niji screamed as he dragged her.

Akuma took her and slammed her against the wall. Long tentacales snaked out of him and pinned her down. Niji screamed and thrashed.Tears streamed down her face. Akuma drew out his sword. He used his claws to rip her clothes off. Niji was naked on the wall. Akuama laughed as he took the sword and started slicing her body with it. Niji continued screaming as Akuama contied to cut and mutilate her body.

Naraku watched his son punish his incarnation. Akuma laughed like a little child playing with a cute puppy. He was enjoying it.

Naraku turned away as the sounds of Akuma punsihing Niji.He left and a few hours later came back when he could longer her the sounds of the Akuma's sword on her flesh. Niji was not dead just passed out. she had passed out during her punishment. but akuma had just kept cutting her. Akuma brought his sword up and licked Niji's blood off it.

Akuma turned towards his father and smiled. The tentacales released Niji and she fell to the floor.
Naraku started wonder what the hell he had spawned.
