Three days later Inuyasha felt some serious pains in his abdomen that only seemed to get worse. It was like his insides were trying to push their way out.

“Sesshoumaru……..”

Inuyasha whimpered softly waking his mate.

“Is it time?”

Sesshoumaru stated anxiously.

“I think so…..but isn’t it early?”

Inuyasha stated worried. Sesshoumaru was concerned, but he knew if his mate was in pain it was more important to find a solution then to worry about one litter when they could have many more later on.

As soon as Inuyasha sat up something flopped onto the bed. It was one of the pups. It was strange because his belly button expanded overnight dilating to the right size for the puppies to come out.

Sesshoumaru looked at the encased pup and smiled. Then two more fell out of Inuyasha. They both thought it was over until a fourth pup fell out that was smaller than the other three. They had three strong large pups and one runt.

Inuyasha looked at the pups on the bed.

“What do I do?”

Sesshoumaru wanted to laugh, but no one explained to Inuyasha that he was to bite open the sac and lick the pups clean.

“You have to bite the sacs open.”

Inuyasha wrinkled his nose, but shrugged and did as he was told. Then instinct took over and he licked the pups clean. He almost wanted to laugh since all four pups were in full demon dog form. Four beautiful white Inu pups.

“They are beautiful……..”

Inuyasha stated with teary eyes.

Sesshoumaru held his pups and his mate smiling. They were indeed. Now it was time to get a wet nurse to come feed them.

“Inuyasha we need to feed them. I will call for the wet nurse.”

Inuyasha growled.

“No……..I will feed them.”

He tried to figure out how though……..he only had two nipples and neither was leaking milk.

“Inuyasha I can get you a bladder of milk for them later. Grandfather Yoshiro had to get a wet nurse. Men do not produce milk. That is one area we do need a female.”

The puppies whimpered until Inuyasha finally let them go with the maids to be fed.

“They are my babies not theirs……”

Inuyasha stated pouting.

Sesshoumaru smiled at his mate and had the maids come clean the mess as he carried Inuyasha to the springs to clean up.

Inuyasha’s belly button started to slowly close back to normal size. His body healed quickly so it didn’t take much time for him to be back to his normal self.

Sesshoumaru noticed the mating marks were gone. He would reinitiate them immediately.

“Inuyasha I need to mark you.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. He really didn’t need this right now.

“So are you going to pee on me again?”

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“No, you already carry my scent. I am going to mark you again though with my claws.”

Sesshoumaru used his acid to remark his beloved. It made it easier to do this quickly rather than wait. Inuyasha winced a little, but this time it wasn’t so bad. Sesshoumaru marked his wrist since he wanted everyone to see his mark.

“Do I ever get to mark you back?”

Sesshoumaru laughed and showed Inuyasha his wrist.

“See once I mark you the mark automatically shows up on me.”

Inuyasha felt a little better, but he was tired. Having four pups took a lot out of him.

“So are you going to pup me again right away?”

Inuyasha asked as he felt Sesshoumaru’s erection against his buttocks while sitting on his lap.

“No, I can control that this time. As long as my demon is satisfied then it will not bother you again for a long time. Just in case though, I have a spell scroll so we can take our time and enjoy each other as well as our pups for a while. There is a nasty potion involved you will have to drink down, but it will be worth it if you want to prolong procreation. It was actually in that same book I gave you to read.”

Inuyasha looked frustrated.

“I am still having a hard time with some of the words and their meanings.”

Sesshoumaru knew that three months was not quite long enough to learn all the words that Inuyasha was trying to learn so quickly. He was very proud of Inuyasha since his mate had been studying so very hard and retaining so much over the last few months.

“It is fine Inuyasha. We will keep working on that.”

Sesshoumaru nuzzled his beloved. As much as he wanted sex right then he knew it was best for Inuyasha to first take the potion and do the spell. He also knew his beloved needed rest to heal properly.

“So do I have to keep wearing those robes?”

Sesshoumaru chuckled.

“No, you do not. I have had some more masculine things made for you although I do like your hair decorated. It is attractive, but that is up to you. No matter what Inuyasha I will always find you beautiful. Just don’t cut your hair like some new Mothers do. I want to always run my fingers through your silky tresses.”

Inuyasha smiled at the compliment. He was now a Mother and he could feel the happiness of his mate. Sesshoumaru was glowing as a new Father so it was not just Inuyasha that glowed.

The two young parents stayed in the hot springs for as long as they could stand before they crawled into bed. Sesshoumaru had his servants make up the potion and Inuyasha drank it down blanching.

“Oh, this stuff is terrible.”

Inuyasha tried to get it off of his tongue, but it stuck until Sesshoumaru read the spell.

“My demon will take you if I don’t do this since you are very fertile right now.”

There was no light or any sign that it worked other than Inuyasha felt a great pain in his abdomen.

“Uh……stop it…….”

Sesshoumaru could not and suddenly one more pup popped out. It was a still born runt. Inuyasha whimpered ignoring Sesshoumaru’s protests to save it and licked it off.

“Please Sesshoumaru……I know she is tiny, but she deserves a chance...I can’t bear to lose one of our babies.”

Sesshoumaru looked at tensaiga and for the first time in days it pulsed. Sesshoumaru waved it over the pup and suddenly another came out of Inuyasha. The two men now had a total of six living puppies, three runts and three healthy strong pups.

Inuyasha felt overjoyed as he licked his pups only to have them taken to the wet nurse.

“That is all right little one? You don’t have any more surprises for me do you?”

Inuyasha let the maids clean the bedding again as he and Sesshoumaru stood naked as the day they were born. The maids were used to this, but Inuyasha felt a bit weird without his fundoshi on in front of the women or a blanket around him.

“No I don’t think I do. I think that spell worked though and that was what killed them. We may have to do it again since I think your sword healed me.”

Sesshoumaru once again had the servants create the brew and Inuyasha gagged drinking it as Sesshoumaru did the spell once again.

“I hope that is the last time we have to do that for years Sess. That potion is vile.”

Sesshoumaru yawned.

“I am sure it is the last time. I am figuring we want at least 100 years before the next litter since that will make the children mature enough to handle more siblings. No point in overdoing when we have six now. It is indeed a full litter of pups and for our first litter we are doing quite well.”

Inuyasha sighed wishing there was at least one more boy.

“We had all girls except one.”

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“Yes, that makes things easier since I have my heir now. You will find girl Inu demons are easier than boys. However I am pleased he was born of the first three. A runt male has a much harder time in life as you know.”

Inuyasha could attest to that being the runt of the litter himself. A litter of two.

“Mother had a littler of one and same with your human Mother except you took a full 9 months to arrive. Humans take too long to procreate yet they are abundant. It is unusual for a species to survive so long if they cannot procreate at a decent rate.”

“Well it works for them.”

Inuyasha stated feeling slightly insulted, but now that he thought about it Sesshoumaru was right considering how many humans were killed on a daily basis by predatory demons not to mention disease and other misfortunes.

“Are you really prejudice towards humans Sesshoumaru?”

“Yes, but it is not their fault. They are weak and therefore need more protection then what should be necessary. Perhaps though it is not prejudice, but pity I feel for humans. I pity them.”

Inuyasha nodded. That made sense.

“You see Inuyasha as a Lord you and I have to protect these lands including the living beings upon them. It is a tasking job and I do not care for it. That is why I left others in charge while I wandered the lands. I prefer killing to paperwork and I do not wish to save people unless it is of my own choice. The tensaiga to me is a burden. Life and death are natural. The tensaiga is unnatural. As much as I wanted to save our pups, if it is their time then we cannot always alter that. Now that I have saved them one time I cannot do it again. It is the one weakness of this sword.”

Sesshoumaru looked at his sword with distaste. It may make him very powerful to those who wanted life since resurrection was a god power, however he never asked to be a god. He just wanted to be an assassin with power and an Empire where he could rule, but not necessarily be forced to act like a Lord all the time. Sesshoumaru appreciated freedom.

“I understand, but I am glad it saved our pups.”

“I am too Inuyasha. Now go to sleep.”

The two mates cuddled in each other’s arms and fell fast asleep.
