Together and finally whole

Sesshomaru came back outside and walked towards Inuyasha.

“She stay asleep?”

“Yes, and the boy has been accepted as well. You now have a true family under the Inu name.”

“Thanks. So you want to get going. If I wait till she wakes up I’ll have to see her cry. I can’t deal with that.”

“As you wish. Nephew, come forth”

Shippo ran over to him and Sesshomaru picked him up and looked at him sternly.

“Yeah?”

“Now since you are of the same family as the priestess no spell can keep you out of the house. There will be a ward on the door so no demons can get in. This also means that we prefer to keep her in there as well unless necessary. You must help your mother while we are gone and make sure she does not leave the house.”

“I promise. Papa, don’t get hurt and hurry home. Mama will cry when your gone and I hate seeing her cry…..”

“I promise pup. Be good.”

With that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru we off running through the lands and facing any demon group that so insulted Inuyasha or refused to accept him as a ruler. Kagome would have slept through the day if not for Kin waking and crying for food. She feed him and happily walked down stairs to sit with Inuyasha. She didn’t find him. She called for him for hours while Shippo told her that he had already gone. After she could no longer stand she finally laid down in bed and cried herself to sleep. Shippo heard her for most of the night and in turn couldn’t sleep until finally she did. He woke up late the next morning and found Kagome sleeping as well as Kin which meant he was probably just fed. He went downstairs and started cooking some of the meat and eggs Inuyasha had kept from the last hunt.

“Mama sure is sad. I know she normally wont eat when she is but I know she doesn’t waste food once it’s made too. I have to make sure she eats. If not for herself then for Kin. All done! Hope I remembered how to cook it right…..”

He walked up stairs with two plates and cups filled with juice. He came to the door and knocked…

“Mama, can I come in?”

There was no answer so he opened the door and set the food down on the table in there and shook her slightly.

“What’s wrong honey?”

“You need to eat Mama…”

“I’m not really hungry.”

“But I made us breakfast…”

“Oh honey…. I’ll eat it then.”

Shippo smiled and got the tray. She tried the meat first and when she didn’t make a face he decided that it was not all that bad. He took a bite and it was actually good. They both finished their meals and sat back to let their full tummies relax. Eventually Shippo scooted over to Kagome and they fell back asleep. Sleeping most of the day off.

The next few days went on about the same Kagome would cry herself to sleep and Shippo would appear with meals so she would eat. There weren’t any bed demon attacks so Kagome was allowed to leave the fighting up to Sango and Miroku. At least twice a day someone would come and keep her company and see how she was doing. Her mother generally brought some kind of food so Shippo could have a break from cooking. The there was shouting throughout the village Kagome heard it ring throughout the house and ran outside. The shouting didn’t sound bad so she ran outside to see two white haired demons appear from the clearing. Both covered in blood and looking very tired. Kagome cried again and ran to Inuyasha hugging him tightly.

“Oy, Kagome I’m covered in blood! I don’t want to get you all….”

Kagome jumped at him practically and locked her mouth on his making him dip her and deepen the kiss. He knew that always made her knees go weak and finally she was being held up only by her lovers strong arms. He loved it when he did that. It made him feel proud that even though they had a child and we’re together for so long now he could still make her feel the same way she did when they first made love. She then broke his trance by a swift slap in the face.

“OW WENCH WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?”

“For one leaving without saying goodbye and for two taking so long… and for three…. Kissing me that good.”

Inuyasha smirked at her.

“Why was that a bad thing?”

“Cause you went overboard and now I don’t think I can walk right.”

“Mama also hasn’t been feeling well…”

“SHIPPO!”

“What… he can take care of you now… and can I go play with Souta now? Being cooped up in the house for 4 days is really boring.”

“Sure pup. I take care of her now.”

Inuyasha gave her a look that always made Kagome feel like she was in trouble. Then Shippo ran off happily at full speed playing with random things he found on the ground as he reached Souta. Then Sesshomaru stepped forward.

“Kagome, you need to keep yourself well. If you get sick you pass it on to the pup.”

“I know I’ve just been weak, nothing more. Can I ask you a favor?”

“I suppose.”

“Can you watch Kin for an hour or so?”

Sesshomaru stopped dead. He couldn’t believe that she was trusting him with an infant.

“Why me?”

“Because you’re his uncle. And I trust you. I just want to go take a bath… and Inuyasha needs one too.”

“I shall go and wash then. If I must watch him… I want to be clean. Blood is not a good thing to be on an infant. I will go quickly though.”

“Thank you.”

Sesshomaru washed quickly and returned allowing Kagome and Inuyasha to then clean themselves. As soon as he was sure no one would see him he picked the child out of the crib and rocked him. He had already been asleep but woke up after 10 minutes and opened his eyes for the first time in his presence. His eyes were mixed of gold and chocolate. Warm and inviting as his mothers but as fierce and judging as his fathers. Soon after he opened his eyes he smiled and giggled at his uncle making him smile and giggle too. It had been a long time since something had made him feel so warm other then Rin. But it was short lived the rumbling in his chest and the rocking motion soon put the infant back to sleep. Sesshomaru set the infant back down and smiled at him.

“You have brought much good with your birth child. One day you shall be a great ruler. With such a kindness I believe only you mother and you can posses but such braveness that comes with the Inu name. I look forward to watching you grow.”

After about another half an hour Inuyasha and Kagome returned and they all bid farewell to Sesshomaru but only after he promised that he would come by now and again to visit.
