Nor do I own the lunar rainbow promise. I do not own Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Kirara, or Shippo. I do not own Kohaku, Hachi, Kaede, or Kikyo or ANY of the characters or happenings from Inuyasha. Rumiko Takahashi is the wonderful creator and owner of said characters, manga, and show. I do not make money off of her characters or this story. Author's Note: I LOVE RIKI! You'll find out in a little who he is. He is soooo cute that I drew a picture of him. I'm highly debating getting a mediaminer account and putting some of my pics of the characters I actually did make up on here and maybe even some of the characters who grew up on it. Still, I don't have any good or even colored pictures, it's more like sketches. Ok, just so you know, you're all going to be pissed at me for what happened . . . but it's not my fault that the lesser demons were hired. It's....oops, don't wanna ruin it for you! Anyway, just read on to see all the randomness of this chapter. I don't know how anyone writes the show! It's hard having that many characters in one place and not getting confused. lol. ENJOY!
Thanks: Sorceressofthenight that episode sounds great! i can't wait to see it. Yeah it will be great when Sesshoumaru and Rin see each other. Sorry to disappoint you in this chapter, he doesn't even know that she's pregnant yet, although if he thought about it (although he is kinda busy right now) he'd remember that she was in heat when they had their fun. Thanks for reviewing so much! *hugs back* Music for the masses thanks as well! Yeah Kouga should be more appreciated. He's not rude to everyone, just Inuyasha...and Inuyasha's rude right back, so it's a love/hate kinda thing. lol. Thanks also to animegirl007. Kouga rocks! And yes, sooner or later someone will be getting their ass kicked if they keep being a bastard. If any of my reviewers have myspace, then you can find me here: http://www.myspace.com/inuyashas_fuzzy_ears Enjoy the story!

Inuyasha leaned back in a tree. He was tired from being up all night with his three-year-old son. Now Kagome and the pup ran around the ground below him. The little boy was playing with a ball. It reminded him of when he was young, but he was happy for the child. Now that Kagome had taken over as high priestess after Kaede's death, and since Inuyasha had been protecting them for years, the villagers accepted the hanyou child without even thinking about it. “Riki!” Kagome called trying uselessly to keep up with the speedy child.
The little boy laughed, knowing his mother had no hope of catching him. The boy had golden eyes and silver hair just like his father, he even had dog ears that sat on top of his head. His hair, however, was thinner like his mom's. He also lacked the two long tufts of hair that fell in front of his father's shoulders. His hair was pulled up into a ponytail, but the ponytail did not even reach his shoulders. Riki was wearing a baggy red hakama and a simple white sleeveless kimono top. “Riki!” Kagome pleaded again, “Don't force me to make a necklace like your father's for you.”
Riki's eyes widened for a moment, but then he just ran faster, “You'll have to catch me first!” He took off, bouncing the ball in front of him and passing directly under his father's tree.
“Riki…” The boy ran straight into his father's pants and fell over backwards. The ball flew out of his hands, but Kagome managed to catch the toy. “You need to listen to your mother,” Inuyasha chided.
“Aww,” the hanyou child sighed, “But I'm faster and stronger than her.”
“That's no excuse. You don't want to grow up to be like the demons we slay, do you?” Inuyasha picked up his son.
“No, Daddy.”
“That's my boy!” Inuyasha laughed, and swung the child on to his shoulders. Riki's tiny hands clung to his father's thick silver hair.
Kagome was standing by the fire, cooking up some ramen as it was one of the only things either of the dogs would eat. She made regular trips back to her own time for food and medicine and to visit her family. Of course she always brought Inuyasha with her, as he sort of was the Jewel of Four Souls since had used it on himself.
“Ninja food!” Riki cried out happily.
Inuyasha leaned against the wall sleepily, until a knock outside caused his ears to twitch. He had already sensed the demonic aura, but now his hand moved to the Tetsusaiga. “Stay here,” he whispered to Riki and Kagome. In a swift and silent motion, he jumped through the door and wielded his sword. He almost dropped his father's fang in surprise of who he saw before him.
“Hey, mutt. Do me a favor would you?”
“KOUGA!!!” Inuyasha looked about ready to throw a windscar attack at the wolf.
“Calm down, would you,” Kouga sighed, “I need your help.”
“You need my help? Are you sure? I think you must be delusional. Why would I help you?” Inuyasha finally sheathed his sword.
Kagome had finished with the ramen and walked outside to see what the commotion was. “Kouga? It's great to see you!” she smiled at him.
“Feh,” Inuyasha crossed his arms.
“Kagome!” he nearly grabbed her hands, but thought better of it and said, “Could you help me-“ he stopped suddenly, staring down at his tail. Riki had wandered out of the hut and was fascinated with the wolf prince's tail. “Ehem…cute kid.”
“What do you have a tail for?” Riki looked up at Kouga, his tiny claws clutching at Kouga's fur.
“Because I'm a wolf?” Kouga wondered aloud, “I dunno. Just hang on a second, Kid. I've got to talk to your mom.”
At that point Ayame had finally helped the very round Rin up to the hut.
“Ayame? Is that you?” Kagome smiled.
“Huh?” Inuyasha sniffed, “You know her?”
“Of course! Does that mean…DOES THAT MEAN YOU AND KOUGA ARE MARRIED?!” Kagome beamed.
Kouga kicked at a rock on the ground, still unable to loose the child from himself.
“Not quite, just engaged,” Ayame smiled back, “Oh, but can you help us with Rin? She's getting very close to birthing, and Kouga says you have better medicines.”
“Oh, of course! I'll call on Sango. She helped me through Riki,” she nodded at the pup.
“He's adorable!” Ayame smiled.
Kouga said simply, “No.”
Ayame looked at him funny, but was interrupted by Kagome, “Rin? You're the little girl who used to travel with Sesshoumaru, right?”
“Sesshoumaru?” Inuyasha spun to face them, “Oh, no! I'm not helping Kouga AND Sesshoumaru! There's no fucking way!”
“Don't worry, Inuyasha. Helping me would not help the lord…it would only make him angry,” Rin looked sadly at her feet.
“Ayame,” Kagome pulled the girl aside, whispering, “isn't Sesshoumaru the father?”
“Don't be stupid,” Inuyasha's ears had easily picked up the sound, “She reeks of him. Clearly they are mates. Wonder what convinced Sesshoumaru to mate with a human. He hates them.”
“Inuyasha.” He looked at her, then his eyes widened. “SIT BOY!”
The thump echoed throughout the village. Inuyasha moaned, “What did I do?!”
Riki giggled, finally releasing his hold on the wolf demon, and raced over to climb onto his father's shoulders. He pulled on his father's ears, “Daddy was bad.”
“Thank you, Riki, I hadn't noticed,” Inuyasha sighed, then stood up, grabbing Riki's ankles to hold him steady. The playful child continued to yank on the dog demon's ears.
“Of course you're welcome here, Rin. Don't worry at all; we'll help you through this. I promise,” Kagome said kindly.
“Thank you,” Rin whimpered, “I am sorry that I am bearing the lord's child. He will not be pleased at all…You don't…think he will come here, do you?”
“Yeah right. Sesshoumaru hates me as much as I hate him. So what if we defeated Naraku together, it was a one time thing. You're safe here, if you don't wanna see him,” Inuyasha bounced up and down on his heels, and Riki laughed gleefully.
“Thank you,” Rin said again. It was the only thing she could think to say. At least here she was safe from having to face the lord again. Kagome led her and the wolves inside the hut, offering some strange food called ramen to them.
Sesshoumaru growled fiercely, his eyes blazing. How dare they waste his time with such a trivial attack? Just as he had been about to reach Inuyasha's village, Ah-Un had shown up out of nowhere with a scroll in one of his mouths. The scroll stated that an army of lesser demons had started attacking all the villages under his domain. It was the sort of thing that Naraku would have done, sending out such weak demons in great masses to carry out his plans…but Naraku was dead. Who could have gained control of so many demons? Sesshoumaru sliced through another couple. If only he had the Tetsusaiga, he could have killed all the demons in one swing. This was just not something he could ask his brother for help with. It was his domain, and he would protect it. Still, he could only save one village at a time…the entire Western Lands were under his control. Staving off this many demons…could take months. Sesshoumaru howled in anguish. A million things could happen in that amount of time, he needed to find Rin NOW. Jakken looked up helplessly at his lord, taking out a few demons with the Staff of Two Heads, “M'lord. Are you sure you do not want to go after Rin?”
“I will not abandon my subjects. Clearly this is an attack on me. I will not have people dying because of me,” the taiyokai swirled his green whip, “Did you send out our demon allies to protect the human villages until I can reach them.”
“Yes, my lord. All of the villages are being protected.”
“Good. I won't let my people die. I will be a good lord for Rin.”
Rin had spent three months with Inuyasha and his family and, just as he had said, Sesshoumaru did not show up. The human lay in a bed breathing deeply. Kagome's medicines had worked wonders. Now the girl from the future, Ayame, and Sango all stood over her. She had gone into labor.
Kouga paced hopelessly outside of the hut. Pausing for a moment, he looked up at the half moon shining in the sky, “What's takin' so long?! It's just a baby.”
“Women take forever,” Inuyasha shrugged, playing ball with Riki.
“You have no idea, Inuyasha,” Miroku laughed. He and Sango had three children already. Unfortunately for Miroku all of them were female. He was quite outnumbered and had quickly lost his interest in any females other than Sango. He loved his daughters, but they were a handful at times.
“Can I hold the baby?” Riki asked hopefully, catching the ball.
Inuyasha sighed, “I don't know, Riki. We'll see what your mother says.”
“Aww, but I didn't get to hold Miroku's last daughter, and it's gonna be forever until another baby is born!” Riki whimpered and threw the ball back to his father.
A tall boy who looked around the same age as Rin, stepped up from his spot against a tree. A bushy, peach colored tail poofed out behind him. He wore a navy hakama and a light blue kimono top. A tan vest draped about his shoulders. His green eyes blinked beneath his red hair, which was pulled back into a very long ponytail. “Don't worry. Someday you'll have a baby of your own, and you can hold it as much as you want,” the boy laughed cheerfully.
“But that's not for forever, too, Uncle Shippo,” Riki whined.
The fox demon laughed and caught the ball before the small dog could. A game of chase undoubtedly ensued.
“That fox's sure grown up. Did you raise him, Inuyasha?” Kouga asked in a bored tone.
“Yeah, me and Kagome did. I guess that's why we waited so long to have kids of our own…We kinda already had one. He's a good boy though, and he's gonna make a great father,” Inuyasha said proudly.
“Is it that hard?” the wolf demon said after a minute, “Being a dad?”
“It's a little tiring, but it's worth it. Don't worry about it, wolf boy. You and Ayame will be fine parents.” Both the demons stopped short. Inuyasha had just paid the wolf a compliment; quickly they brushed it off and acted like nothing had happened. Miroku laughed quietly.
Just as Riki finally caught up to Shippo, a cry rose up from the cabin. All of the men looked towards it, the smell of new life was in the air.
Rin looked down lovingly at the gorgeous baby boy in her arms. He was wrapped in a small blue blanket, and he was crying as loud as he could. She ran a hand through his hair. He had pointed ears and silver hair. His eyes were doglike, just as his father's were, but they were the same color as Rin's. He blinked his brown eyes, silent for a moment, and instantly began crying again. His sharp teeth showed through his open mouth, and he had a single pink stripe on each cheek. His bangs parted at the center of his forehead, and a blue moon shone just as brilliantly as Sesshoumaru's. Rin ran a finger over his moon. It was not crescent, nor was it full. It was a half moon.
“What will you name him,” Ayame asked beside her.
“His name is,” she looked down at the hanyou in her arms, smiling for the first time in weeks, “Ukiyomaru.”
“It suits him,” Sango said, helping Kagome clean the room.
“You are perfect, Ukiyomaru. Even the lord would have to be proud of you,” Rin held the baby close, and he finally stopped crying.
