Too Much Time On Their Hands

Inuyasha lay in bed feeling feverish. Sesshoumaru called Dr. Akiyoshi Hojo who came over with Kagome. They brought their supplies. Inuyasha had been up and down all night throwing up. He felt so sick and so damn tired. His eyes were withdrawn and he was freezing.

Hojo arrived quickly checking Inuyasha’s temperature and told Sesshoumaru to get ice immediately.

Kagome watched as she pouted at her mate who turned her into a demon. Kagome did look cute as a demon though and after finding out about her mate she felt it was the only way to have a stable relationship if they wanted to stay together.

At first Kagome was not happy about it, but she thought about how short life would be for her with their baby and she did really love Hojo. Kagome would grow old and their child would stay young for many years. So in the end she made her choice, made the right wish sending the jewel away forever by telling it to disappear forever. She would not have their child for another couple of years now and would not show until one full year had passed. Still in the end she felt a connection to her new family and was able to help Hojo with his demon patients not just the humans so it was well worth the small price. Kagome found she was doing a lot of good for all different kinds of people including hanyous who had been born and did not understand what they were. Kagome found her sacrifice of giving up being human became rewarding after three days had passed after being hugged by a demon woman who had been so afraid to go to the doctor because there were no women demon nurses or doctors she knew of. It helped to have someone who understood demons. Kagome contacted Ayame immediately about this and soon she was also working for them except she was going to go for her degree as a Family Practice Physician.

Inuyasha was not doing well at all. He had somehow contracted a virus and he was very sick. Akiyoshi went through their fridge and everything he could think of on why the boy would have gotten sick like this. They tested his blood and it all came back down to Inuyasha had a food allergy. He had a severe allergy to shell fish. It had made him sick and one of the crab legs he had been craving had some kind of bacteria that was attacking his system. Akiyoshi set up the IV fluids and was able to get some medicine into Inuyasha that helped him rest. All the shell fish was removed from the house and the two boys living with them were threatened with death if any shell fish was brought in at any time.

Akiyoshi and Kagome stayed for a few hours then Ayame came by to watch over Inuyasha. No one except the doctor, nurses, and Sesshoumaru were allowed into the room. Inuyasha was to have complete rest and quiet. His vitals were taken every two hours and Dr. Hojo kept his schedule as free as possible knowing Inuyasha would be going into labor any day now. He had to be there for this and nothing was going to get in the way.

Inuyasha’s fever dropped as Sesshoumaru held his mate’s hand not getting any sleep at all. He was tired, but did not care. He would not rest until Inuyasha was well and this birth was over. Inuyasha seemed completely drained of energy and he would grumble every time they took his vitals. Then they checked his urine and blood. He was getting used to the pattern, but still hated it.

As a pregnant man, since he did not have enough estrogen so instead the baby seemed to produce a lot of it for him making him even whimper about things more than usual. Inuyasha was an emotional roller coaster.

No matter how many times he was told no, Inuyasha wanted soft shell crab legs, but was not allowed it. He craved something though so they knew it was mainly salt so he was low on fluids as more were pumped into him. This got rid of that craving until he wanted a chocolate donut which caused all sorts of hell. He was not allowed sweets yet so Sesshoumaru gave him dried fruit. That pissed him off, but the pup ate it anyway grumbling that everyone in the room was a fucking tyrant that hated him.

Inuyasha suddenly out of nowhere called Sesshoumaru a big jerk who wanted to ruin his life and would just do these crazy out bursts for no good reason then start crying. Sesshoumaru was not sure if he should laugh or ignore it. It was kind of funny some of the things Inuyasha could come up with when he was unhappy. Calling him names just meant Inuyasha was acting normal to Sesshoumaru so he usually just ignored it until Inuyasha started crying saying he was being mean not paying any attention to him. Then Sesshoumaru would sigh, pat his hand, and tell him he loved him until Inuyasha calmed down.

Soon the day came and Inuyasha flew up like someone punched him in the gut and screamed.

“Damnit that hurt!”

Kagome and Akiyoshi were on their way when Ayame helped Sesshoumaru get Inuyasha into the cuffs of the black metal machine in the middle of the room. Inuyasha screamed two more times reeling in pain as the labor pains hit him full force.

Dr. Akiyoshi Hojo rushed in pulling out a table putting his gloves on and they set up preparations. Kagome covered Inuyasha’s naked body with a hospital gown tying it loosely around him. Akiyoshi was grateful for the humans who made those depends adult diapers that his male hanyou patients had to wear due to the mess they would make on him during labor without them. It was not a fun procedure, but he had done this several times.

The IV fluid was filled with a pain reducing medicine made for demons by some of his researchers who had a lab producing all sorts of wonderful medicines to help make the lives of demons better. This medicine was an ancient formula created before their time by the very first known demon to deal with the pain of pregnancy. This potent medicine was made for a female until males found out that they could become pregnant too and therefore passed down through the generations. After the strange glowing blue medicine was dripped into the IV fluid entering his body, Inuyasha felt relaxed and so much better. He was almost in a sleepy daze.

“Inuyasha you can’t sleep baby. Stay awake for me.”

Kagome stated as Inuyasha was having a hard time remaining awake with the medicine.

“But Kagome I am so tired…….”

Rubbing the iodine onto Inuyasha’s abdomen Akiyoshi then used the scalpel as he cut into the boy’s belly causing the water to brake splashing onto the plastic and the absorbent blue material that was placed on the floor for this surgery. Then reaching into Inuyasha who at this point was wide awake screaming in pain Hojo found the baby.

“Ok Inuyasha I need you to hold still for me kiddo. The baby is turned and the umbilical cord is wrapped around his neck. If you move, push, or fight me we will lose him.”

Akiyoshi carefully removed the cord from around the child’s neck as he was trying to go as quickly as he could so Inuyasha would not lose too much blood and so that the boy would not heal in the middle of all of this trapping his arms. That was the big fear. As Dr Hojo pulled the child free the afterbirth also fell out. Then Akiyoshi pulled out as many blood clots as he could as he handed the baby to Ayame who was cleaning the crying baby off. Sesshoumaru watched fascinated and Inuyasha sighed as his abdomen closed healing over. Then he passed out cold while Kagome wrapped his wounded belly to insure that it would heal fully. Inuyasha could not be jostled around or allowed to do anything until they were certain his organs had healed properly. His uterus that had grown to carry his child would disappear for a time until or if he was ready to bear another pup. The strange part about all male demons was that every demon no matter the gender had ovaries. The estrogen though would only be produced and the ovaries would only be productive if it was time for the male to bear a child. Otherwise only females could continually bear children. It was one way of preserving the species of demon.

“Emperor Sesshoumaru it is your duty and honor to cut the cord of your heir.”

Akiyoshi stated as Sesshoumaru bit the cord just as his Father had done for him. His son was a bloody screaming mess much like his Mother. Inuyasha however seemed at peace right now.
Removing the cuffs Sesshoumaru carried his tired mate into the bathroom to clean his beloved up and let the nurses do their work.

Dr. Hojo was to circumcise his son since demons were rather cruel in the act. He wanted his son not to have to suffer the pain so Hojo was quick and precise with the blade since he learned this technique from humans. It would have been Sesshoumaru’s fangs as tradition called for such things and unless he was like Father it could have been bad since some Fathers had to bite twice to remove the skin. It should only have to be done once. Then the stupid foreskin was shown to the whole damn castle like it wasn’t a big enough embarrassment and placed in this shadowbox on the wall with every male heir’s name under it. Inuyasha’s was there too in that box with instructions to put a name tag under it since Father magically whisked it away after he was born obviously not telling Izayoi that was why her son was screaming his little head off so the whole damn world could hear the pup.

It was supposedly a demon Father’s proudest moment to show off his son’s foreskin so that he could state he had an heir since at the time Sesshoumaru was born this was more important to the males of the family than to anyone else. Plus he just could not fathom doing it that way anymore when they had better ways of doing things. He was so glad he threw that box into the fire pit and that the damn things actually burned since he was terrified they would heal up like the rest of demon’s bodies. Sesshoumaru figured the skin had been dead so long that it would have been dust anyway, but of course there had to be spells on everything. Fathers were so weird.

Inuyasha was taken into the bathroom, washed, and then placed in a very nice white silk robe. He was awake, but just barely. His body felt drained of blood, but Sesshoumaru forced him to drink from his wrist as Inuyasha started feeling much better. They would not be able to have sex for at least a month until the blood clots were out of his system and therefore he would defecate these clots daily until they were all gone.

Sesshoumaru came back out after all the mess had been cleaned up by a group of people that specialized in such things that Sesshoumaru had hired not wanting the nurses and doctor to mess with it. They had done enough to help him and he wanted to hire a maid service for his home anyway. This would be best for his mate and family. He missed having servants to assist and even hired a cook with recommendations from Akiyoshi on good demon chiefs who would do well for them. Sesshoumaru was much like Akiyoshi in being a health nut when it came to demon fare.

Inuyasha was just going to have to get used to not having pizza every damn day as a three course meal. Beer and pizza were not going to be what his family was going to be eating like it was going out of style. It was time to change some of the rules of this house again. Kagome, Ayame, and Akiyoshi were healthy demons because they were eating right. Plus, Sesshoumaru was tired of pizza boxes all over his house too.

Picking up his son Sesshoumaru felt such pride. Their little boy was so damn beautiful. He had Inuyasha’s huge eyes and mouth. There were all of Sesshoumaru’s markings on that precious tiny face and Sesshoumaru walked around the house with his son trying to figure out a good name for him. They had not had much time to think of a good one yet and Inuyasha was still recovering so he could only hold the baby at feeding time. His poor young body had really been mangled when he had that food allergy and then the birth on top of it. It wore the pup out and Sesshoumaru would let his mate rest as long as he needed to. He had done very well.

“So little one…….what should I call you?”

Sesshoumaru stated with a smile.

"Your name is to be Tsukiya Seishirou Tashio my son. Son of the history of the star, moon, and to be King of All Demons like your Father as I am King who was once a Prince like you little one to my Father before me. Your Mother is also your Father so things will be very confusing. We will explain much to you and you will be a fine ruler my tiny little star. You fell from heaven to bless us just like a falling star. This name suits you my son, my precious pup."

Holding his silver haired tiny newborn baby Sesshoumaru sat in the rocking chair as his baby slept in his strong arms. He was a strong boy and would be like his Fathers as he grew becoming a very strong man. Sesshoumaru could feel that power of the demon pulsating in the tiny being in his arms. It was hard to believe something so fragile already had him already wrapped around his little finger. Those tiny fingers that grasped his deadly clawed hands touched his soul like nothing else in the world.
