The next morning Kagome awake to the noise of someone pounding on the door. "Mommy, I'm hungry." Shippou whined. Kagome smiled and looked over at the still sleeping Hiei. "I'll be out in a moment baby." She called softly. She waited until she heard his feet padding downstairs before she quietly slipped from the bed and into her robe. She threw one more look at him before she unlocked the door and made her way down to the kitchen. Shippou was already sitting down at the table. Noone else was awake yet so Kagome began to fry some eggs and toast. She knew the minute Hiei was awake and cracked a few more eggs. By the time Hiei was down stairs she had Shippou and his breakfast layed out. She looked up at him as he walked through the doorway. "Goodmorning." She murmered. He strode toward her and looped his arms around her waiste, nuzzeiling her neck. Kagome sighed in pleasure and gave him a kiss. "Now sit down and eat breakfast before Shippou devours it himself." She laughed and smacked Shippous hand before he could snatch up Hiei's food.
She made Shippou a few more eggs and munched on some toast as they finished their breakfast. She set too work makeing breakfast for everyone else and grinned. "Their going to love this one." She laughed. She brought her fingers up to her mouth and let out a long, loud whistle. Yuske was the first one in the kitchen at three seconds flat. "Oh good, you remembered the signal." She gigled and set his plate in front of him. Slowly everyone else began to trickle in confusedly. "Wha's going on?" Asked Boton. "It's Kagome's signal that breakfast is ready." Kilala yawned. "Oh. Kagome? Why arn't you eating?" Boton asked as everyone else sat down. "I don't usually eat for breakfast." Kagome explained with a grin. "Oh." Kagome just shook her head and headed upstairs to get dressed.
Today she wore a simple pair of baggy pants with wite stripes down the sides and a black speggeti strap shirt. She strapped her Katana on her side, then as a second thought grabbed her bow and arrows. As she ran down the stairs Shippou ran up to her. "Can I go with you today mama?" Shippou pleaded, his eyes big. Kagome laughed and nodded. "Run and get your knives." Kagome said. Shesshomuru in a rare spurt of kindness had given Shippou a pair of twin daggers to fight with. She jogged back to her room and grabbed her own. They had a silver handle and a black blade with a purple cresent moon on the handle. Another gift from Shessomuru.
She met Shippou at the top of the stairs and walked down with him perched on her shoulders. She walked into the kitchen to see everyone had vacated it except Hiei. "Wanna come?" She asked. Hiei just grunted and looked at Shippou. "Shippou's comeing with us to. I neglected to take him with me yesterday." Kagome said, smileing at her son. "Hn." Was the reply. Kagome just shrugged and walked out the door. She saw Hiei following discretly and smiled. "Hey Shippou? Wanna go really fast?" She whispered up at him. He grinned and nodded really fast. Kagome smiled at him and took off at a jog, then gradgually worked her way up to a run. She put on her demonic speed finally and Shippou shouted in glee. She smiled and ran faster. The wind began to whip threw her loose silver locks and she took a flying leap into the air, her eye's closed in bliss. Finally she made it to the clearing and landed.
Hiei arrived seconds later and Kagome grinned at him. "Yay, that was fun!" Shippou cried. Hiei felt his heart lurch at the loveing look Kagome gave her son. "Just wait baby, you'll be able to to run like that one day." Kagome murmered. 'How did this woman get to me so quickly? I tend to avoid the female species, and yet I feel so drawn to her.' Hiei wondered.
Kagome turned around to face Hiei and grinned. She set Shippou down on the ground and set all her wepons aside execpt for her daggers. "Ready?" She asked, turning serious. Shippou put his own serious face on and nodded. Kagome crouched into a fighting position and brought her daggers into position, Shippou followed. "GO!" Kagome shouted and rushed Shippou. Shippou lunged to the side and brought the dagger swooping down toward Kagome. Kagome twisted to the side just in time and rolled to her feet. She nodded in appresiation and they began to circle.
Hiei watched in facination as Kagome and Shippou lunged and parried each other. The boy was fast for his age, and agile. Hiei had thought it would be like a game but was stunned to realize they were waiting for first blood. After a good 45 min. Kagome finally drew first blood and they stopped. Kagome smiled softly and knelt beside Shippou. "You are getting much better Shippou, I'm proud of you. It wont be long before you're good enough to beat me." Kagome said, then leaned over to lick his wound. It slowly healed from Kagome's demon saliva. "Alright, now it's time for me to work with my bow. How about you pick the first target?" Kagome asked. Shippou grinned and nodded. "Ummmm...oh! The beetle sitting on that tree!" Shippou said and pointed to a tree about 50 yards away. Kagome peered at it and nodded. Hiei just snorted.
Kagome's eyes narrowed at Hiei and she just shook her head. 'So much for having faith in a person.' Kagome thought and grabbed her bow and arrows. She powered down into her human form and notched an arrow. Rolling her eyes at the simplicity of the target she sighted it and let the arrow fly. TWACK. "Hiei? Why don't you go get the arrow for me please?" Kagome asked sweetly. "Hn." Hiei replied and walked toward the arrow. She watched with a smirk as Hiei's eye's went round with wonder. "You actually hit it! Right in the heart!" He exclaimed, then turned to look at her in wonder.
Kagome just laughed. This went on for a while longer, Shippou chooseing a target, Kagome hitting it, and Hiei retrieving it. Then Kagome called a halt to it and decided it was time for her and Hiei to spar. Shippou took a seat in a tree far enough away from them to be safe and watched as they sparred. 'Mommy like's Hiei, I know she does. I wonder why? I mean he's rude, arrogant and well...just like Inuyasha.' He thought, then his eyes went wide with relization. 'Just like Inuyasha!! That's it! He just mother's type!' Shippou thought and grinned.
HEHE, THIS IS ABOUT AS FAR AS I GOT BEFORE MY COLD TOOK OVER. BESIDES I HAVE TO GET READY TO GO SEE MY GRANDMOTHER IN THE HOSPITAL. HOPE YOU GUYS DON'T MIND THE UTTER BORDEM OF THIS CHAPPIE. I'LL DO BETTER, I PROMISE. TOTTLES.
