The golden one
8 months later……………
The new house was finally built. Everything was perfect. Souta no longer wanted to go back to his time to visit his friends because Shippo was about the coolest friend he ever had. He liked Shippo more then Inuyasha and most of the time went along with Shippo when he was making fun of Inuyasha. Kagome’s mother went back to get mostly spices for her cooking. Sometimes she would come back with a lot of ramen for Inuyasha considering it was him that was catching and killing her meat for her. Gramps and Kaede had fallen in love and he lived with her. She had even taught him how to really purify, and of course Inuyasha was the test subject for the working ones. Kagome was about to her due date and then in the afternoon her water broke.
“Kaede!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“What is it Inuyasha?! I was having a nice lunch with….”
“Yeah yeah we know who… Kagome’s water broke and I don’t know what to do! What’s going on!?”
“She’s in labor. She will have the baby when the moon is at it’s peak.”
“Don’t you need to get there then ya old hag!?”
“It will be a long time. There is nothing I can really do till the sun sets. Stay with her and bring her a moist rag to keep on her head. And whatever you do don’t let her walk around, she must remain in bed!”
“Right got it!”
He ran back to his home where Kagome was calmly waiting in her room. He never left her side, he sent Shippo to change that wet rag with fresh water. Gramps had reappeared to their hut after Kaede and his lunch was over. Kagome’s mother was there coaching her until the sun went down. Kaede then appeared on the scene with a bowl of herbs.
“Here dear. The pain will start to be more fierce soon. This will help it.”
Kagome ate all the herbs and laid back down. Kaede stayed with her and then soon after the moon had risen to it’s peak, it was the night of the full moon. Kagome was holding onto Inuyasha’s hand tightly as her mother and Kaede helped her through her birthing process.
“Inuyasha…. It hurts….”
He kissed her forehead and looked lovingly at her.
“I know… it will be over soon.”
“Ok dear once more…. Push!”
She pushed with all she had left and soon after cries filled the room. Kaede washed the baby quickly and wrapped her in a blanket. She then handed it to Kagome.
“Congratulations…. You have a baby boy.”
“Oh, Inuyasha look at him! He’s perfect!”
Inuyasha filled with pride. His son had his silver hair but Kagome’s black ears. His eyes were quite odd though… they were gold but had bits of brown in them. His cute little fangs were a little to big for him right now and hung out over his bottom lip.
“What are you naming my little brother?”
“His name shall be Kin”
Shippo went over to him and Kin wrapped his small hand around his finger and cooed.
“Hi there Kin. I’m your big brother…. Look mommy! He already knows me!”
“Inuyasha. Take him and show him to everybody in the hall. I’m to tired to get up. I’ll probably be asleep when you get back in.”
“Alright…. Goodnight mommy…..”
He kissed her and took Kin into his arms. He showed Kin first to Kagome’s mother because she hadn’t gotten a chance to see him cleaned. She smiled and pet his ears making him close his eyes and almost go to sleep. Inuyasha then went out into the hall hiding the child and looking very sad.
“Inuyasha what happened?!”
“Is Kagome alright? Where’s the baby?”
“We… lost him…. She’s resting.”
Sango buried her face into Miroku and began to weep. Then he let down one of his arms showing Miroku the baby. He nudged Sango and she then saw the baby. She was about to hit Inuyasha but she quickly focused her attention on the small child. Souta walked over to the boy and started making faces at him. The baby just looked at him like he was weird.
“Ooooh, he’s darling! What is his name?”
“We named him Kin.”
“That is a good name for a strong boy. You must be very proud Inuyasha.”
“You have no idea…. Well…. Wait about what 3 more months and you’ll know.”
Sango lifted her head and put her hands on her waist making her tummy bulge even more. She again focused her attention on the child.
“Kagome asked me to tell you guys that you will be the god parents… so if anything happens to us you will be taking care of him and Shippo.”
“Really! Can I hold him?”
Inuyasha let Sango hold her godson as practice for her own child. She cooed back at him making him laugh and then she stroked his ears soon after he was in a deep sleep.
“It is an honor. Kin, you know his name means golden. Fits him well, his eyes are of that color and surly with a mother like Kagome his heart will be as well”
“Yeah, she’ll be a great mother but she can’t teach him to be physically strong that’ll be my job. We should get him back to his bed.”
They all walked back to the room and laid the infant down then all exited the room and let mother and child rest peacefully. Everyone was tired having stayed up so late so they headed back to their rooms. Inuyasha thanked Kaede one more time then laid down with Kagome drifting off to peaceful sleep beside her.
