The Dream

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or the characters of Inuyasha. I do not own Naraku, Inutaisho, Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Jakken, Rin, or Ah-Un. I also do not own Ayame, the Elder, or Kouga. Nor do I own the lunar rainbow promise. I do not own Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Kirara, or Shippo. I do not own Kohaku, Hachi, Kaede, or Kikyo or ANY of the characters or happenings from Inuyasha. Rumiko Takahashi is the wonderful creator and owner of said characters, manga, and show. I do not make money off of her characters or this story. Anything that is not owned by her is still owned by the people who own the Inuyasha show and movies. I give them credit for their work as well. I do not make money off of their ideas or episodes. Also I do not own the song used in this chapter “Come” by Namie Amuro. The translation was found at http://www.ear-tweak.com/wind/come.htm. This Disclaimer applies to this and all following chapters.

Author's Note: Not sure what inspired me to write a song into the story or a dream for that matter…..I think I just wanted to connect them, so that it was well known that no matter how much distance separated them, they would always be connected. Besides, I LOVE THIS SONG! It's soooo cute and sweet! OOH AN IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! The song lyrics are in quotations. "THE SONG APPEARS HERE". The translation is between the --(TRANSLATION APPEARS HERE). Clearly it is not part of the song, but merely something I thought necessary for people like me who do not understand much Japanese, but still want to know what's going on in the song, especially since it's so important to this chapter. Sorry for the lack of details, but it is only a dream. It was fleeting and quick, even in their own minds. I seriously don't know what impelled me to write this, but I LIKE IT!!! And I hope you all do to!

Thanks: My thanks goes out to music for the masses! Thanks so much for reviewing! I live for my reviews! Honestly, if you want me to write faster, then review. Without reviews, I feel like I'm not writing for anyone. Also thanks to Lisa! You're so nice to me! i really didn't think those last two chapters were very good. I really appreciate all the nice comments! And in answer to music for the masses' question…I guess Shen's so annoying, because he's pissed off that Ayame's far closer to being Elder than he is. It bugs him so much, because he finds her inferior as a girl…also he is terrified that Kouga will return, because then he's pretty much screwed. His only hope was to defeat Sesshoumaru (not that he could) and win his domain in honor of the wolves. That way the Elder would have sent him down to rule over Sesshoumaru's domain. Anyway, now I'm rambling again. I'm not even sure that answers your question. *shrugs* Thanks for reviewing to everyone who has, and please review to everyone who hasn't. I like to know what people think.

Miles apart from each other, Rin and Sesshoumaru tossed and turned helplessly in their sleep. Even though they did not share the same bed, the dream that danced through their minds was exactly the same. A song cut through the dream, a distant soft voice that threatened to overwhelm their emotions. This was the dream and the song that they shared:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rin stood in the midst of a great forest. She had been running for hours, but could not find the exit. She called again and again for her lord, but he didn't come. The truth was that Sesshoumaru heard her cries and was trying desperately to find her, but he himself was hopelessly lost. Sesshoumaru cut through the trees with his poison claws. No matter how many trees he destroyed, countless more stood in his way. His Rin needed him, and there was nothing he could do. Finally, helplessly, he screamed her name, “RIN!!!”
“MY LORD?” she cried, hearing his voice, “Sesshoumaru! Are you there?!”
“Rin! I can't find you! Where are you?!” he cried, tearing through the trees more quickly.
“I am here! Sesshoumaru! Please hurry! I am frightened.” Countless minutes passed, but still Sesshoumaru was unable to reach her. Rin was shaking terribly, running in circles through the trees. Suddenly she fell to the ground and began to cry. The sound that reached the dog demon's ears was not a happy one. Rin needed him. He must find her immediately. In a last rage of desperateness, he tore the trees to bits with his whip of green light. There sat Rin, her face held in her hands, whimpering and tears running down her face. Instantly Sesshoumaru was by her side. “My Lord?” she looked up at him, as he placed his hand on her shoulder.
“I am here, Rin. Do not cry any longer,” he pulled her into his arms.
"Moshi ima kanashimi
Afureru nara
--(If sorrow is overflowing now)
Watashi ni motarete
Naite ii kara
--(It's all right to lean on me and cry.)"
Rin cried into his kimono, “Oh, I've missed you so much, Sesshoumaru! Please don't leave me!”
“Never again, my Rin. Never again. I never want to hear you cry like that.”
"I get, I get, I get, get the feeling.
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming.
Tada kono mama
--(Stay just like this.)"
“Do you love me, my lord?” Rin looked up into his golden eyes.
“I do. I love you. Always have. Always will,” he smiled, teeth glinting in the swiftly setting sun, “Do you love me in return, my Rin?”
“Yes, Sesshoumaru! With every beat of my heart!”
“I want to feel your heart beating,” he pulled her closer, “I want it to beat with mine.”
“It does, my lord. Our hearts are as connected as our souls and as our scents,” she breathed in his smell along with that of the forest.
“Sit with me, Rin.”
He sat down, legs crossed, and held up his hand to her. She took it, turning around. Slowly he pulled her into his lap, then wrapped his arms around her. Her small hands clutched at his tough but gentle hands.
"Come my way
Kono yami no hotori
--(Darkness is all around)
Come close to me
Ima akari tonoshi
--(Now with the light of dusk)
I'll be with you, I'll be with you
Tada soba ni iru kara
--(I'm at your side)
So come my way"
“Rin.” She felt his chin rest on top of her head. “I am so sorry. I was wrong. You are more important to me than my domain. More important than what my subjects or enemies think. And far more important than any one who threatens to break our love.”
“I know, Sesshoumaru. You are important to me, too. You cared for me, when no one else did. When I was all alone, you let me come with you. I could not possibly be more grateful.”
"Kizuite anata wa
Kono sekai de
--(I realize that you're the only one)
Tada hitori dake no
Taisetsu na hito
--(Who is important to me in this world)"
Rin whirled around in his lap to face him. She pressed her lips softly to his. That was all it took, that one kiss to overwhelm his senses. He had forgotten how much he needed her. Now he was ravenous for her love. He kissed her so hungrily, holding her cheeks in his hands, that she thought perhaps he might devour her.
"I get, I get, I get, get the feeling
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming
Tada sono mama
--(Stay just like that)"
Sesshoumaru began to lean backwards, pulling Rin on top of him. His hands snaked into her kimono, rubbing her shoulders and running up and down her back. Rin whimpered, and pressed her lips more firmly against his. Sesshoumaru grinned into the kiss and ground his hips upwards. “Please,” the words were nearly silent, but it was just what he had wanted to hear. His hands snuck lower, his claws gently running over her breasts. “Sesshoumaru!” she sighed, closing her eyes and running her fingers through his soft, silken hair and over his high cheeks.
“Don't worry,” he kissed her forehead, “I'm right here.”
"Come my way
Mou hitomi tojite
--(Close your eyes)
Come close to me
Mou nemureba ii
--(It's alright if you sleep, because)
I'll be with you, I'll be with you
Tada koko ni iru kara
--(I'm right here)
So come me way"
Sesshoumaru gently lifted his knee between her legs, applying just enough pressure to make her moan. She rocked against him, begging for more. He loved to hear her plead with him. Her voice glazed his eyes and caused him to give in to his senses. His fingers swiftly pulled her kimono away from her, opening her skin to his touch. She worked at his bow, finally quitting and just whimpering. He smirked, but removed his own clothes. The kimonos and hakama landed softly in a pile beside them. Sesshoumaru picked up his long fur cloak and draped it over her shoulders. She giggled and ran her fingers over the soft fur. “Say my name, Rin.”
“Sesshoumaru!” her eyes danced, “I love you.”
"Oh oh
Oh o-oh
Calling out
Can you hear me-yeah
So come my way.
I get, I get, I get, get the feeling
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming
Tada kono mama
--(Stay just like this)"
“I love you, too,” he whispered, his lips once again seeking out hers.
Her hands danced across his bare skin. Rin quickly locked her eyes on his, unable to stand the need welling up in her heart, “I need you inside me, Sesshoumaru.”
“As you wish,” strange how even such a yielding statement could sound like an order when issued by his deep, regal voice. In one fleeting motion, he was buried deep within her. A cry escaped her, and she gripped his shoulders. The immenseness of how much she had missed him, suddenly crushing down upon her.
"Oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh-ohhh
Come my way
Kono yami no hotori
--(Darkness is all around)
Come close to me
Ima akari tonoshi
--(Now with the light of dusk)
I'll be with you, I'll be with you
Tada soba ni iru kara
--(I'm at your side)
So come my way"
Sesshoumaru's hands clasped her hips, rocking her fiercely against him. Rin, herself, was adding her own force to their thrusts. Rin was screaming his name now, pleading with him to come with her. “My love,” he grunted, his eyes red with desire. They reached their climax at the same moment and came in a flood, their screams echoing across the darkness of the forest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the wolves' den, Rin sat up screaming at the top of her lungs, “SESSHOUMARU!!!” Ayame, not to mention the rest of the pack, were staring at her. She stared back at them silently, panting in exhaustion. Sweat dripped down her face.

“Are you all right?” Ayame asked, her green eyes wide.

“Y-y-yeah,” Rin managed to gasp between breaths, “I'm f-fine. I didn't…say…anything. Did I?”

“Uh…no. Of course not,” Ayame smiled, shooting a quick glare at the others. The wolf demons returned to their sleep. “You think you'll be ok now?” Ayame asked her when she seemed to have calmed down.

“Yeah,” Rin looked up at the full moon glinting beyond the waterfall. It had been a month since she had met Ayame. A month since she had seen the lord. Her cheeks were flushed, whether in embarrassment or passion, she wasn't sure. Either way, she felt as though she seriously needed a shower. Instead, she dropped her head back to the bedding. Her very soul ached with longing for him.

In the castle of the dog demon lord, Sesshoumaru sat up in bed, howling as loud as he possibly could, “RIN!!!!!!” Jakken fell out of his bed down the hallway. Quickly, he grabbed his staff, brandishing it as if he had been attacked. When he could find no source of the noise, he climbed back into his bed. He fell asleep still clutching his staff.

Sesshoumaru shook with deep breaths as he tried to erase the dream from his mind. It had just been a dream. Still it had felt so real, he could still taste her skin. Not a drop of sweat touched his skin. He was not worn out, merely miserable at the fact that it had only been a dream. He wondered if perhaps she was in a forest somewhere; one that looked like the woods in his dream. Slowly, he fell back to the pillows. They still held the slightest bit of Rin's scent, but he had to give in to the fact that even her own room was forgetting her. Silently he decided that he would head south the next morning. Perhaps some of the demon tribes or human villages down there had heard news of his Rin. He clutched the tiny, rather dried up sakura blossom to his chest.

As Rin and Sesshoumaru drifted back to their restless sleep, the song echoed in their ears.

"Oh oh
Come my way
Oh o-oh
Come close to me

Oh oh
Come my way
Oh o-oh, so come
Come close to me"
