TGB: 1 DAY
Today is a very sad day for it was only last night that everyone in the Western lands suffered a terrible loss. The palace was filled with unbearable tension. The raw emontion of sorrow hung dreadfully in the air. It was day of mourning for the dealy beloved Inu no taishou. Everyone was clad in black, no formalities just the depressing color of loss. The servents were shocked but quickly gathered any of his remains and h ad him creamated. They were going to bury him today in the valley.
Inuyasha sat in the nursery and watched the pups as they slept, so oblivious as to what was going on. He picked up the scent before she stopped in front of the nursery door "Come in Kichuro" he said queitly. The young ningen walked into the room and stood next to Inuyasha. "It's time my lord, you muct go down stairs now" she muttered softly. Inuyasha looked up at the ningen women. She stood next to him in a black kimono and her head hung low "Why arent' you going?" he asked bluntly. Kichuro looked up in surprise "You were never just a servent you were his friend" Inuyasha said as he got up.
She began to cry "It would be to painful...to say good-bye" she whispered trying to calm her self. Inuyasha wiped her eyes for her "No more tears, we all have to say good-bye maybe not now but you'll have to someday. But you should be at the funeral, it would mean so much to him" he said as he took her hand and she followed him down to the valley. It was a small funeral that consisted of The servents, Rin, Sesshomaru, Kichuro, and Inuyasha. They had all prepared a small eulige. Inuyasha had been zoning in and out and before he knew it, it was time for him to go up and read his eulige.
"Before she left my mother told me something that I realized I felt the same way about. She told me to cherish the time I had with my mate and my children, to not just assume that they'll always be there. I looked up to my father, like any other child would to their's and I always assumed that he'd be here for me. To see me grow and watch as I raised my family and watch my children, his grandchildren grow. But he's not here anymore, no not in a physical form but in mind and in hear. A piece of his spirit as we remember him lies in each of our minds and hearts. As a father, a lover, a friend, a playmate (smiles at Rin) whatever we remeber him as. That's what we have to remember, but we can't let his death consume us. Sooner or later we all have to say good-bye" he was done
When everyone was in the house Rin surprised Inuyasha by sitting on his lap. "That was a pretty speech" she whispered with a sigh. The young child had been close with the daiyokai and missed him. "It's called a eulige Rin" he said hugging her, his maternal instincts kicking in. Rin just nodded at the information. Inuyasha was startled when he felt Rin's body shake under him, she was crying. He turned he so that she was facing him and the child was indeed crying "I don't want to say good-bye today it's too soon" sh wailed into his shoulder a he hugged her.
Inuyasha tried calming the girl and began to rub her back "Shh...you don't have to say good-bye today. You can say it when ever your ready, I'm not even ready to say it yet. Don't feel like just because the funeral was today that you have to say good-bye now. No one can force you too okay? So stop it with the waterworks. Rin stopped crying and looked at Inuyasha with sad eyes "Why did Lady Izayoi have to leave too?" she whimpered. Inuyasha realized that the ningen child felt abandoned by the only parent figures she had, besides him and Sesshomaru.
He didn't really know what to say so Inuyasha took a deep breath and tried to explain it the best he could. "She can't say good-bye. She had to go some place so she could get better. When she's better she's gonna come back and say good-bye" he said and Rin just looked out into space as he mind absorbed the information. He swooped her up and began to walk her to her chambers so she could rest. He stopped in front of the door and placed her on her feet. "Your not alone Rin, your like a daughter to me and soon enough you'll have a couple of new playmates. I know my parents ment alot to you but you still have me and Sess, we'll be your parents. Now get some sleep and I'll check on you in a little bit okay?" he said and he couldn't help smile when Rin did. She nodded and went into her room and quickly slid into her bed so she could rest.
Inuyasha decided to go to the nursery to check on the pups but found that Kichuro was already there. She looked at him and he realized that ironically she had a fussing Kichuro in her arms. "I'm honored that you named one of your pups after me Lord Inuyasha" she said smiling down at the small child. Inuyasha's lips twisted into a grimce "Please call me Inuyasha" he said as he took the baby from her. He knew good and well what Kichuro wanted but he was still uncomfortable about having and audience while doing it. Inuyasha lossened the ties of his haori and pushed it back and as if on cue the small child latched on to his nipple and began to eat. Inuyasha gave an annoyed and embaressed look which cased the female Kichuro to chuckle. "Don't be so modest Inuysha your a wonderful father" Kichuro said but now she was full out laughing.
A warning growl from Sesshomaru made her slowly stop laughing as she turned around to look at him. He was angry at her for laughing at his mate, she dipped her head in an apologetic gesture. "She was laughing with me not at me" came Inuyasha's soft spoken reply as he placed Kichuro on the floor. The pup giggled and began to crawl happily across the wodden floor. "I think having her laugh got me over the fact that I'm breast-feeding" he said between soft chuckles. Sesshomaru growled in annoyance and walked out. Inuyasha quickly followed him but stopped at the door and winked at Kichuro as he walked off smirking behind his mate.
