Chapter 10
Kagome lay down onto the soft mattress of the bed, she had been crying for hours and finally she cried herself to sleep, probably due to utter exhaustion. Inuyasha looked over her and smoothed the loose hair out of her face. In addition, went over to retrieve Koga’s sword. With one final glance, he closed the door behind him and headed down the stairs, in search of his friend.
When Inuyasha returned downstairs, he saw Miroku and Sango holding each other. He decided to approach Sango. “Sango, will you please go up stairs, keep, and eye on Kagome I would hate for her to try too escape again,” he said firmly. She nodded her head in yes and kissed Miroku then headed up the stairs.
“Miroku find Koga and let him know that I am ready to plan action against Naraku.” He commanded then taking his seat at the large wooden table. He waited patiently tapping his claws on the table. Miroku and Koga returned with Ginta. They had brought a map of the island.
Inuyasha rolled the map over the table and pointed too the town of Kadavu. It would be a day’s ride since they wanted the element of surprise, and not able to be seen in Inuyasha’s ship. Inuyasha would advise his men to set sail the next day after they have left since it would be less time on a ship than on horses. They all agreed with the plan of action. Since Naraku would not even recognize Koga’s ship. Koga could get there ahead of time and plan an evasive attack on Naraku’s ship. Therefore, Naraku would not be able to use his cannons in the event of a surprise attack.
Sango walked into the bedroom where she saw Kagome crying into her pillow, with heavy sobs. Sango approached her and was now sitting on the side of the bed. Kagome felt the shiftiness and thought of Inuyasha coming back and comforting her. “Inuyasha?” She asked, but did not dare look up.
“No sorry, it’s Sango.” She said, calmly. “Is their anything I can get you?” She asked looking down at the swollen eyed girl.
“No thank you.” Kagome replied. Kagome began sitting up rubbing her eyes, trying to break a smile but to no avail, one did not come. She looked at Sango and said. “ I want to help bring my father down, I want my revenge for him killing my mother and Inuyasha’s mom. I cannot sit here and sulk anymore. Please take me to Inuyasha?” She said halfheartedly.
“I would be happy too,” Sango smiled, while helping Kagome out of bed. Hand in hand, they made their way downstairs.
Everyone was too enthralled by Inuyasha’s plan they did not notice the girls standing in front of them. Inuyasha looked up and saw Kagome and Sango.
He demanded, “And what the hell are you doing out of bed?”
“I want to help you,” she whispered softly.
Koga stood up and grabbed Kagome’s hands, “ Its good to see you in better spirits my dear,” he smiled, bringing her hand up to his lips, giving her a soft kiss.
“Thank you sir,” she replied coldly as she pulled her hand out of his grasp and turned her attention to Inuyasha. “I want to help you bring my father and Naraku down and I won’t take no for an answer!” She demanded, looking into his golden eyes.
A cocky smirk appeared on his face, “And how in the hell are you going to help me?
“There will be a annual ball, held at my plantation in six months. I am sure he has gotten word about our vessel and now is searching for me. After we deal with Naraku, someone can send word about my safety and he can come and rescue me.”
The men looked at her then at Inuyasha with questioning eyes. Koga spoke up. “Inuyasha she would be able to get us in undetected, and I will go myself and deliver Kagome to her father after we defeat Naraku.”
Inuyasha stood up from his seat and headed over to Koga, grabbing both his shoulder with concern. “What do you mean you will take Kagome to her father? I don’t know if I can trust you with my spirited vixen,” he said, sternly looking at him.
Koga chuckled, “Now you know that unlike you I always treat my guest very well, and don’t you dare worry I wont let no harm come to her I swear on my life. And if I don’t you can kill me yourself.” He chuckled.
“Believe me wolf, I will!”
The plan was now set in motion, the meeting was over, Koga, and Ginta gave their respectful bows and headed for Koga’s ship. They would rendezvous in six months time. Inuyasha watched his friends leave as if it was the last time he would see them. Then he approached Kagome, grabbing her hand and bringing her closer to his strapping chest. “Do you realize how dangerous this is, if something were to go astray?” He asked with concern, staring into her sapphire eyes.
“My dear captain, if you are worried about my safety with Koga, I seem to trust him, as do you. I will be happy to put him in his place, if however he gets too close. That sir I will promise you.” She smiled. Inuyasha held her tighter then pulled away only to capture her lips in a chaste kiss.
“Sango, we cant have Kagome going to the slave market wearing rags, now can we?” He said, still gazing down at Kagome, she was still in her red dress that was now in tatters, from the two brutes that attacked her just the other night.
The two girls made their way too the market. Shippo and another pirate by the name of Jeff were following them on Inuyasha’s orders. Little did anyone realize that a crewmember from Naraku’s ship was in the same vicinity and recognized Shippo? Keeping his incognito, he went the opposite direction and headed back to Naraku to relate the news.
The girls made it back to the Inn with a few extra items in their possession. “Well it’s about time you two decided to show up,” Inuyasha fussed.
“You don’t have to be such an ass, since it was you who gave me the money to go shopping with in the first place. And I needed to replace Sango’s vases.” She yelled out. Moreover, she turned and headed up the stairs with Sango.
Both the wolf pirates headed back to the ship when they ran into the messenger Hojo. “Hey boy, over hear!” Koga yelled. The young man turned around to see the two pirates coming near him. Koga could see the fear radiating off his body. “Don’t worry boy where not hear to harm you.” He said throwing a bag full of gold shillings at him. Hojo caught the bag of money with confusion in his eyes. He was hoping never to run into him again. “You where suppose to meet up with us at the Inn, boy,” Koga snapped.
Hojo wanted to run, but thought best not too, for fear of him hurting his family back in Japan. “ I am sorry sir,” Hojo said calmly.
“No worries boy, you can make it up to me. I am glad I ran into you. I have a new job for you. And I will not take no for an answer,” Koga demanded.
Hojo looked down with wonder of what his new task would be, “What do you ask of me this time sir?” He stuttered.
Koga smiled and said, “You will come with me to New Guinea and be my witness in saying that we rescued his daughter. Oh and we leave in the morning, so don’t be late.”
The girls retired to Sango’s room. Kagome laid the dresses on the bed while Sango replaced the already broken vase is with the new and improved ones. “So which dress should I wear tomorrow? The blue one or the green Sango.” She said rubbing her hands down the silk threads that adored them.
“I like them both,” Sango said while approaching her.
“ Ok Sango, if you pick the one I wear you may have the other one as a gift of my friendship,” Kagome stated to Sango smiling.
“Well since you put it that way, I think that both dresses brings out the blue in your eyes. Maybe you should hold them up to you and look into the mirror and then we will be able to decide,” Sango declared, while grabbing Kagome and her dresses and dragged her too her mirror.
Kagome put the blue dress up to her, looking at her self in the mirror. “Sango was right the blue does bring out my eyes,” she thought. Then placed the green dress up against her body but decided that the blue one was the better of the two. “Ok Sango I will choose the blue dress, do you agree.” She pleaded, looking at Sango.
“I agree Kagome,” Sango smiled as Kagome handed her the green dress.
“We can wear these both tomorrow and our men will be drooling.” Kagome giggled. Soon both girls were both laughing at the thought of torturing the two pirates downstairs. Kagome gave Sango a big hug and told her “ Thank you for being here for me, I do hope that we never lose contact with each other.”
Inuyasha walked in to Sango’s bedroom hearing Kagome’s terms of endearment. “Am’ I interrupting anything,” he smirked. Sango and Kagome broke from their hug startled by the disruption, of the handsome pirate.
“Did you ever hear of knocking sir?” She scolded. While grabbing her garb and placed it back on too the bed. She could hear Inuyasha chuckled, as he approached her.
“Come my love I have something I want to show you.” He said, while grabbing her hand and leaving the room, with a confused Sango.
The pirate spy headed back to Naraku as fast as his steed would go. He would make it back to town, by tomorrow morning. His horse was panting and white sweat dripped from his fatigue body. He knew that he needed to rest or his horse would not make the trip. Therefore, he decided to make camp while leaving his horse too cool down. “ I cannot wait to see the look on Captain Naraku’s face when I tell him the news that his lovely wench is one town away.” He chuckled while placing the saddle down on the ground, using it as a backrest, despite the fact that his eyes began to become heavy and soon closed them for some much needed rest.
Thank you so much for the reviews. I love reading them, and they inspire me to continue with this story.
