Simpathy is Weakness
Summary:A promise from Inuyasha's past is broken, can Kouga save him from near death and can anyone save Kouga from Koneko's wrath.
“The sky is so beautiful tonight; it reminds me of that night with K...” “What night mutt?” Inuyasha quickly turned to the intruder reaching for his Tenseiga. “Its none of your business ya flea bag, what are you doing here anyways Kagome went back home. He smiled with a smirk. “Wipe that look off your face before I do it myself.” A small giggle arose from Inuyasha “what’s so funny mutt?” “Oh nothing.” Inuyasha said as he slowly stood from his place on the ground. “Tell me Inuyasha” He stared at Kouga anger showed in his eyes, did he really care that much. “Why are you getting mad its no big deal?” Kouga slowly began to stalk forward towards Inuyasha. Panicking he jumped into the trees leaving Kouga in close pursuit.
-15 miles later-
Inuyasha stood on a tree taking a short rest “I doubt he still…” but he didn’t get the chance to turn as he was attacked from behind. “What the hells your problem Kouga get off me!” But he was pinned down beneath him ‘since when did he get so strong’ he thought. “Tell me” “Get off me, then I will” “I actually like this spot, now tell me or else.” “Are you threatening me?!” Kouga smiled then leaned down to whisper into Inuyasha’s ear “yes” Inuyasha gasped as he felt a hand going beneath his haori “Kouga stop!” he quickly shoved Kouga off and scampered away.
Kouga’s POV
Look at him panicking like a child he really thinks I’m that stupid. Not knowing what he’s talking about, please. “You look beautiful with that blush puppy.”
Inuyasha’s POV
My heart nearly stopped when he said that, he spoke the same words he told me then. Maybe he does remember…
Normal POV
“Don’t flatter yourself into thinking I love you pup I love Kagome why would I lover myself to a hanyou like you. What I said that night was said out of pity. Inuyasha’s head slowly lowered hiding his pained face from Kouga everything he had just said was like a thousand knifes piercing his already tormented heart. “Well cya around mutt” before vanishing into the forest. The scent of tears slowly filled the forest as Inuyasha remembered the memory that had once been the last bit of hope in his heart.
