Caught in the Snow

Caught in the snow

Chapter 1
Going up the mountain

“Do we really have to go?”
“Hai”
“Why didn’t you said that, when we where in that village? Miroku could have got me some warm clothes, now I have to get up in this” *Why did I ever let my big backpack home and took a small one, of al days, it had to be today.* Kagome thought while following InuYasha and the rest of the gang.
“You shouldn’t wear a weird kimono like that anyways” InuYasha replied. He continued walking without even looking back at her.
“Oh why you, you....”

“Are they going to argue all day?” Miroku asked Sango.
“I guess so, they never stop do they?” Sango replied. Knowing her best friend Kagome and the hanyou InuYasha where unbeaten when it came to arguing.
“Kagome-sama, I’m always willing to warm you, you know that”. Miroku turned around and was about to lay his arm around Kagome’s shoulder.
“Why you! Can you never quit that act?” InuYasha angrily asked while coming closer to Miroku flexing his claws.

“SIT”
InuYasha got swept to the ground.
“Why did you do that?” He mumbled angrily while getting back up from the mud.
“At least he offered to keep me warm, I can’t say that from you, so there is no reason to attack Miroku-san” Kagome said in an angry voice as she shivered from the cold.

They where walking to the top of a mountain, a blizzard was raging, and it kept getting colder. So far no-one was really bothered by the coldness except for Kagome, who was getting very cold in her school uniform. A few days ago they where in a little village just outside a forest. There they heard that a Youkai in the mountains had a Shikon shard, and now they where on they’re way to claim that piece, but no-one told her it was gonna be this cold.

“Couldn’t we wait a few days before climbing this mountain, I mean who is idiot enough to do something like this when there is a blizzard raging?” Kagome kept nagging.
“Don’t you just get it? The Youkai that lives here is a snow demon and as long as he has the shard it won’t stop storming” InuYasha yelled at her.

*Why was it so hard for this girl to understand that if that Youkai kept the shard he might go and look for some others. And the more shards he possesses the stronger he get’s, and it keeps getting harder to defeat him. I mean no doubt I can beat the Youkai but it might take a bit longer to do so* InuYasha thought.

Slowly the group tried to walk further, that was hard enough with that strong wind. But they had to keep moving. InuYasha began to get a little irritated by the slow movement of the group. He would rather stay on the foot of the mountain too, but not because of the cold. He had his own reason for that, this was the night of which the moon fully disappeared. But no-one had thought about it and he didn’t want to bring the subject up. But now he began to doubt if it was safe enough for every-one. They could get attacked by the Youkai and he wouldn’t be a great rescue if they where.

Miroku, Sango and Shippo had they’re own problems with the storm, it was not the cold that worried them most, it was the wind. That was so hard they’re equipment got almost blown away.

“Where’s Kagome?” Sango asked all of a sudden. “Has anyone seen her?” Her voice began to sound worried.
“Oh, that stupid girl why does she have to slow us down this much” Angry but also a little scared (although he would never admit) InuYasha began to walk back.
“Should we wait for you?” Miroku asked.
”No keep walking, it’s to dangerous to keep still, I’ll find you anyway,” And InuYasha disappeared into the snowstorm.

“He’s right we have to keep moving, we probably get separated but he’ll find us again” Sango was now really starting to worry, what if they got attacked by the Youkai. Without InuYasha’s help she and Miroku would stand alone against it. It wouldn’t be that much of a problem but you never know in a storm like this. And in strange situations it was kinda nice knowing to have a hanyou on your side.
