When Two hearts beat as one

It has been ten years since Naraku's defeat, Rin is a very mature eighteen year old woman.Since the threat of Naraku is over Sesshomaru has moved Rin into his Castle in the West.He still continues his border patrols but they are less frequent, Rin sometimes accompanies him.
Rin awoke to the morning sun peaking threw her window She rolled over in her soft, white silk sheets.She opened her eyes to see her red and white room, then a knock came at her door.
"Come in" Rin said peeping out from underneath the covers
"Good morning My Lady" Rin's maid said walking in shoes padding on the floor
"Good Morning Kayco" Rin said smiling at the young maid would could not have been more than a year older than herself.
"Lord Sesshomaru wishes to see you in the dining hall"
"Would you please tell him that I will be down in a moment" Rin said pulling back the covers
The maid left Rin's chambers, Rin then got out of bed and head towards the room connected to hers that held a bath.When she entered the room Rin saw the the bath had already been drawn and that the maid had added sweet smelling oils to the water.She stripped herself of her clothing and then carefully steeped in the bath.Rin sighed with contentment. After the bath she went into her bed chambers to find a deep red kimono with Light pink cherry blossoms adorning it.She put the kimono on and tucked a cherry blossom in her hair.She walked out of her room, down the elaborate hallways until she met two gigantic wooden doors that lead to the massive dining hall were Sesshomaru sat waiting patiently.Rin walked in and smiled at sesshomaru, he did not smile back but Rin could see the happiness in his eyes.She took her seat next to him at the head of the large table that could fit over five-hundred people.
"Good Morning Lord Sesshomaru" Rin said
"And to you Rin" Sesshomaru said and with a wave of his hand the food was delivered in front of them, Rin started eating but sesshomaru sat there quietly while she ate.
"What do you plan to do today Rin?"
"I plan on picking some flowers in the gardens, do you still have that meeting with the other lords"
"Yes, it should be over with quickly"
before Rin was finished got up from the table and said
"If you'll excuse me" Then he left Rin alone at the table
After Rin was finished she left and went to the gardens, while Sesshomaru sat in his study.
'I shouldn't have these feelings towards her,it shouldn't be I Lord Sesshomaru Supreme Ruler of the West shouldn't care for a weak ningen girl!' Sesshomaru thought while her drummed his fingers on his desk.While Sesshomaru sat in his study Rin walked around the gardens occasionally picking up a flower.
'Oh,Sesshomaru why do I have these feelings towards you, I know that you will never love me in return,I am just a weak human girl who you felt you were responsible to protect in your eyes and nothing more than your burden.' tears welled up in Rins eyes as she slide down an old cherry tree that had been there for centuries.
'It hurts so much to know that I will never mean anything to you,While you hold my entire heart in your hands' Rin buried her face in her hands and silently sobbed.After a few moments Rin fell asleep at the base of the tree.When she awoke she noticed it was almost dark, she knew that Sesshomaru would not like her being out this late so she silently made her way back to the castles front doors, as soon as she opened them she heard her name being called by one of Sesshomaru's Maids.
"Yes" Rin said trying to force a smile
" Lord Sesshomaru wishes to speak with you in his study"
Rin slowly nodded her head and went to Sesshomaru's study.
When she approached the door she heard a voice not just any voice Sesshomaru's voice it told her to enter the room, so she did.When she stepped inside the room you could see Sesshomaru sitting at his desk with many different papers floating around him.
"I was told you wanted to see me" Rin said giving him a wide smile
"Yes,I wanted to talk to you about having the lord of the east and his mate stay here for a week or so, could you accommodate them?" Sesshomaru asked looking up from his papers
"It would be my honor to, may I ask when they will be arriving?"
"Yes they will be arriving two days from now"
"I will make sure everything is ready by then" Rin turned to leave but Sesshomaru's voice stopped
"Rin, may I asked why you have been crying?" Sesshomaru asked with concerned eyes he could not hide from her
"It is nothing of importance My Lord" Rin said looking anywhere but his eyes
"If it is nothing then why were you crying about it then and why won't you look me in the eye?"
"It is nothing My Lord I assure you" Rin said still not meeting his eyes
"Rin look at me" Sesshomaru said in a stern yet caring voice
When she met Sesshomaru's eyes she could just stare at him, saying nothing.
"I will ask you again Rin why were you crying?"
Rin couldn't answer him but she would not and could not disobey him he had that much control over her heart and mind that she trusted and loved him completely.
"Rin answer me"
Rin still did not answer but she felt the tears start to well up in her eyes as the thoughts she had in the garden concerning his feelings towards her were coming back, she had tried to hold them in but they slowly leaked over she tried to stop them but they kept flowing like they had a mind of there own.Sesshomaru walked over to Rin as she cried and took her face in his hands trying to make her look at him.
"Rin stop crying" Sesshomaru said in his emotionless tone
"I'm sorry but I cannot" Rin said trying to pry her face away from him so she could go to her chambers where she could vent her emotions.When she finally succeeded she ran for the door but was stopped by Sesshomaru's chest.
"Please" He still would not move but only wrapped his arms around her small frame.
"Why are you doing this" Rin said trying to control her bodies shaking
"What do you mean?"
"Please stop, I cannot take anymore, my heart and my mind have been beaten and crushed enough! please just let me go I am nothing of importance to be hanging on to." Rin said trying to breakaway from his hold Sesshomaru just stood there with a shocked expression on his face from her confession, when she succeeded she she turned and opened the door to the hall.
"The room for the Lord and Lady of the east will be ready by the time they arrive here" and with that said she left leaving a stunned and hurt Sesshomaru in the room.
