Chapter one
Another Day Another Fight
“Shippou!” Kagome yelled. Kagome had to get to Shippou before the snake like demon could hurt him. Inuyasha was busy taking care of the larger serpent demon Naraku sent, which left Kagome without protection. The only help she had was from Sango and Miroku, and their luck wasn‘t any better than hers.
‘I have to get its attention,’ Kagome thought as she tried to distract the demon, ‘I have to get it away from Shippou.’ Kagome only had one arrow left, but to save Shippou it was worth a try. She readied her arrow, and with a silent prayer she released it to hit its target. She watched in amazement as her arrow developed a bright pink glow to it, and hit the bully of a demon.
“YES! Take that you over grown bully,” Kagome shouted in joy for her little friend was now safe.
“Well done Kagome.” Sango joined in with her joy for the safety of their little friend, while catching her hiraikotsu. Miroku of course had to add his praising in as well. “Yes, very well indeed. It seems you have a lot more power than you first thought,” he added.
Kagome smiled with pride as her friends praised her for how much she has improved since this whole thing started. But there was the one ‘friend’ who always had to ruin every thing.
“Kagome! Miroku! Sango! Get off your lazy asses and help me!” Inuyasha rudely called out.
‘Can’t he praise me just once! Just one time I’d like to hear a, “That’s great Kagome” or a “Wow, looks like you have improved huh?” But, nooooooo. AH! He’s such a jerk!’ Kagome thought angrily. She put aside how her one friend hardly ever told her anything nice, and rushed over to where he was getting up from being slammed into a bolder.
“Are you alright Inuyasha?” Kagome asked, with worry in her voice.
“Keh, its just a little scratch. I‘m fine,” Inuyasha said while glaring daggers at the large demon.
“Where‘s the sacred jewel located in its body?” He asked. Kagome eyed the huge demon looking for jewel.
“There!” She pointed to its chest. “It’s in its chest. There’s two of them!”
“Alright.” Inuyasha got up to deliver the hopefully final blow. “You’re goin down!”
“Wind Scar!” Just like that the demon was in pieces. Its blood and body parts rained down like a spring shower.
“Ha! Take that.” Inuyasha said happily for the demons death. He had the biggest grin on his face for his handy work…well, until he heard a scream from behind him. He turned around to see Kagome soaked in blood.
“What the hell’s your problem?” He all but said to her.
“What do you think? I’m covered in blood!” She returned his yell.
“Well ya don’t have to bite my head off!” Inuyasha continued the battle.
“Uh, here we go again. When will they ever get along?” Shippou whined.
“Another day, another battle, and another fight. When will it end?” Sango sighed as she joined in with Shippou. Miroku, glad to be of help to a friend in trouble, spoke up. “Kagome, I do believe there’s a lake near by if you wish to bathe.”
“Really? Great! Thank you Miroku I do want a bath,” Kagome said while turning to Inuyasha.
“You should be more like Miroku,” She stated. “Unlike you, he has manners.”
“More like Miroku? Manners? As if groping butts is considered good manners,” Inuyasha fired back. Miroku was about to defend his honor, but Kagome started talking first.
“And you,” she said looking at Miroku “NO PEEKING!”
Miroku changed tactics, and decided to act innocent. He smiled, and if you didn’t know him it would have warmed your heart right up. But, they did know him.
“Why Kagome what would ever give you that idea?” he said.
Feeling left out Sango jumped in the conversation. “Save it Miroku. We all know how you are. And like Kagome said, no peeking!” Sango walked over to Kagome, and whispered something in her ear. The giggles and smiles from the girls clarified what someone with out Inuyasha’s dog ears couldn’t hear.
Knowing the monk had found them out Sango spoke up again.
“Kagome and I are going to bathe. You boys find a good spot to set up camp and we’ll be back soon.”
Now being the only one who hadn’t said anything, Shippou spoke up.
“Kagome can I come to! Please! Inuyasha’s always mean to me when you’re gone”
“Hey! I am not you little runt!” said hanyou yelled.
“You are to!”
“Am not!”
“Are to!”
“Am not! Am not! Am not! Am not!”
“Are to! Are to! Are to! Are to!”
After a few rounds of that, Inuyasha bopped him on the head.
“See! I told you.” Shippou said to Kagome.
Kagome knew Inuyasha did pick on the little fox a lot, but that wasn’t what was on her mind at the moment. She could just feel the nice water washing all the scum away right now. So figuring neither Shippou nor Inuyasha would give up any time soon she spoke up.
“Of course you can Shippou. Come on lets go.” Her and Sango started walking off. Sticking his tongue out at Inuyasha, Shippou ran to catch up with the girls headed to the lake. Inuyasha was all riled up.
‘Since when do they call the shots?’ He couldn’t stand it, so he spoke his thought. “Since when do you and Sango call all the shots? Hey, I’m talking to you here. Don’t just walk away I’m talking! Hey! Kagome! Grrrr”
Actually they called them all the time, but he wasn’t about to admit that to himself or them. He just went along the line of protesting.
“Inuyasha calm down. You know as well as I do. Kagome has the advantage with her sit command, so just come with me and we’ll make camp. Just let the girls relax; they must be tired after the battle.” Miroku tried to calm his friend down.
“Now you’re bossing me around, too?” Inuyasha asked angrily.
“Not at all,” Miroku said calmly.
“Oh shut up Miroku. Let’s just go and find a spot before I change my mind!” Inuyasha yelled trying to act angry.
“As you wish.” Miroku knew he wasn‘t mad. He wasn’t stupid. He could see right through Inuyasha, and knew it was just how he was. He had to act tough.
After Inuyasha found the two jewel fragments, he and Miroku made they’re way through the forest, but neither was prepared for the change of events about to come.
