Chapter 1

Kagome awoke slowly as the light broke through the trees.
Getting up, tending to her new wounds she heard Sango waking.
"Oh, good morning Kagome, I didn't expect you to be
up this early!"
"I couldn't sleep thinking about the last week we had."
"I know, who could ever foretell a series of events like
that. Hey, are you okay? Those cuts on your legs look pretty
bad. Can you tend to those yourself? I can boil you some of
the spring water, with some herbs..."
Suddenly she was cut off with Kagome's sharp tone...
"NO. I'm fine... I mean, it's okay, thanks anyway. I really
appreciate the help and everything, but I can take care of
myself," she muttered an, 'I don't need your help' under her breath.
"NO YOU CAN'T! If you're going to be that stubborn,
I'll just have to send off Sango and Miroku and the others,
and I'LL TEND TO YOU. Giving you only poison and alcohol
to clean them with. Now let someone help you!"
Inuyasha had burst out of his little hiding spot, stomping towards
them angrily adding his bit to the conversation the second he heard
the sharp tone he often used coming out of Kagome's mouth.
"I don't think so." she calmly walked over to Inuyasha, lifted his
chin with one finger, making him weak with love, and slyly whispered,
"do something for me."
"uh huh..." he almost moaned as he agreed.
"will you..."
"yes..." getting weaker.
"please......." she said seductively.
"oohhhh mannnn....." knees giving out.
"just SIT!!!!!!" she screamed in his ear angrily,as he hit the floor
with the force she would have physically pushed him down with,
if she didn't have the power to pummel him into the ground with one
word.
Inuyasha just laid there feeling completely helpless to all the
powers she held over him, as she gracefully sulked away to the spring.
*what a tease.... that's just aggravating, how could she heartlessly trick
me like that. Did she KNOW I am in love with her?! That she
could make me do anything she said, all she had to do was
snap her fingers?! Maybe she did know, maybe she hates me, maybe
she is just using me like a shield so she could get HER wants,
HER needs, in HER time, so she could leave me as soon as she
gathers all the pieces of the Shikon jewel. She probably hates me
for everything I am, she...*
"Inuyasha, are you okay buddy? Looks like that fall was harder
than it looked, you've got tears in your eyes." Miroku looked all
sympathetic; *like he has any idea of what I am going through,
ya right. He could never understand. He's human, and whether he
knows it or not, he's got Sango on his side for the rest of his life, to
help him to avenge his father - to relieve him of his curse, to love him
and only him.*
"I hit a rock." Inuyasha said coldly, then he got up and
headed for the spring. There's no way Kagome can make me feel this
way and not feel the same, and if she doesn't, then she has to let
me know, so I can stop torturing myself. I don't know how I'm going
to acquire what I need to know from her, but I've got to do this.
