In my opinion, the fic was perfect until chapter 6. From chapter 7 forward I missed details and some explanations about what happened. I have sensed this change. It's my opinion, not the truth. I think it happened because your stress for have to study and all, but you know better. When a person describes every detail of the scenery around the characteres, or of the weather, or repeats the same explanations but using another words, it is exaggeration. But I didn't see it in this fic "Not Like My Father". As you questioned, I'll answer: I prefer short chapters. I think it's better because the fanwriter can update faster and, how there is just only one event or topic, the author can think better and describe it better. There is no overload. Long chapters can be confuse because they demand many events and passage/transition of time. And there is the fatigue. There are some one-shots that I need to take a break and, after, keep reading, because they are too long. But, sometimes, when there is an important scene like an action scene or a lemon, the chapter needs to be bigger. So, the author have to decide what is better at that moment. Sometimes, when the author is describing the character's feelings, the chapter needs to be shorter, because there is nothing happening and it can be boring, but the description of feelings is necessary. Also, you can post short chapters now, because you are still writting them and, after it's finished, you can re-post as other fanfic (to not lose the older reviews), but with the chapters joined and edited as you wish. You can do it here or in another fanfictions' site. Well, write fanfics is supposed to be fun not a duty, so, take care of yourself and good luck in your studies. See you!

I finally got a chance to review... Very interesting story...really like the inner battle that Sesshomaru is having with himself.. But, to trade her like that....that was something else. Can't wait to read what other types of hell Sesshomaru is going to put himself thru into he wise up.

Ok I don't understand! how did Sesshomaru save her? I mean she blacked out and then she wakes up and Sesshomaru is right there with her? how did he know were she was, and how did he save, her, I don't know why Rin is not too upset with him, yes he kissed her but "HELLO" he sold her well not really sold her but gave her to someone with out her consent.

still good can't wait tell you update more.

I really do hope you make them alote longer, they are so good the chapters I just wish they were longer.

I must say Sesshomaru is well making me mad, he changes his mind so much it is so like Inuyaha, and you would think you would have more of a one track mind, because of his up bringing, I do agree on what "RinSess13" on both chapters, He says he does not want to become his father, by falling in love with a human, and yet he is giving Rin mixed emotions, he kissed her in the last chapter, why would he do that? if he is so dead set on not falling in love with her? to me, he would in all honesty keep away form her and in some ways not to care, or not to care that much, I understand that keeping Sesshomaru in character is extreamly hard, because in the manga and anime series he is so complex, you see him have emotion but not that much, and at the very end of the series, we see that he gives her gifts, when she is older, but not really staying, I find that she is more of another servent to him but more vaubale than Jaken.

I love this story, I just wish it was longer, and I hope to see Rin get a back bone, and not really see him as all good, because we all know he is not, He might be a gentalmen in some ways but he can also be a beast, and one can not be too careful.

Hugs

Hello! It's just me again. I'll be going for a quick review, since I'm a bit pressed for time. First, a disclaimer: I'm not actually a fan of InuYasha, and I've never read any InuYasha fanfiction before. Therefore, my grasp on the characters is undoubtedly somewhat tenuous. However, I am familiar with the general plot, so I hope that will suffice.

By my limited powers of observation, there's only one significant aspect of the story that you might consider changing. However, it's also very possible that you made a conscious decision to include this facet in the plot, in which case I apologize for second-guessing you.

I think that it may have been better for Sesshoumaru not to be consciously aware of his feelings for Rin this early in the story. A protagonist's obliviousness—or vehement denial—in regards to his own feelings towards another character is a powerful storytelling device that allows for a lot of emotional gut-wrenching and heart-throbbing. The increased plot inertia builds up a lot of tension, with the result often being a far greater impact on the reader than the traditional story of "love at first sight". The InuYasha series itself is a prime example of this: Inuyasha and Kagome spend about 200 episodes in various stages of denial and awkward teenage angst about their feelings for each other. Of course, the InuYasha series is also arguably an example of how you can take this mechanic way too far . . . but, I digress. I just had to get in a jab there (see, I told you I wasn't a fan). The overly-lengthy point that I'm trying to make here is that you might want to consider spending the first couple of chapters having Sesshoumaru slowly awaken to the realization that he has feelings for a "lowly human". But as I said above, if you chose to make him immediately aware of his feelings as part of a deliberate plan, please ignore the suggestion—as the author, you know what you're doing much better than I do.

Anyway, this is a wonderful story so far, as per usual; I expected no less from such a talented author like yourself. I was pretty shocked to see that Sesshoumaru gave Rin away for a "mere" half-share of the Eastern Lands . . . what a parsimonious bastard. I hope you make him suffer at least a little for his poor judgment. I'm looking forward to where the story will go . . . and now this review will end, because I am very, very late.

Take care!

I'm sorry, I got my temper on my last review. I can explain: Sesshomaru/Older Rin are my favorite couple forever. Actually, I'm loving this fanfic. ;D So original! xDDD I can understand your few time. It's difficult, I know. By the way, sorry my English, it's not my first language. In this chapter 9, you explained some things. And I'm seeing Sesshomaru-sama getting concern about Rin. About the feelings, I always thought Sesshomaru is so more mature then Inuyasha. He's so much older then him and had had a polite education I think. So, I always thought Sesshomaru isn't the kind of person who has doubts about himself. If he feels something, he knows, if he wants something, he gets it. And Inuyasha is a shounen from Rumiko-sensei, so of course there are a lot of "runaround". Inuyasha always knew he was in love with Kagome, but his sense of compromise was too strong with Kikyou, but it is another story... Coming back to Sesshy-sama: feel something and do something about it are two different things. Sesshomaru can love Rin, but do something about it, "it's another story". Because he has his pride too, and a whole inu youkai kingdom to rule. We can see it in the end of the anime, when he met his mother, that giant castle. So, it is not easy to go forward with a romantic relationship with a human. There are consequences (as well as in the real life ^^). I don't know if it is your idea, but I can see Sesshomaru doing this deal just to get free of Rin and try to finish his feelings for her. The only way a person fall in love with someone else and doesn't realize it is if this person is too innocent. And, we know, Sesshomaru is not innocent. Well, keep writing. Even you have no time, you are updating fast in my opinion. Some fics take years to be finish and currently there are so many AUs (I don't like AU very much). Bye!

OMG, he sold her? what an Asshole, I hope now Rin understands he is not as dashing and beloved lord as she thought he was, I hope Rin, gets out, or at least fights, but who knows, I hope someone rescuse her like Inuyasha, you would think, after spending time with Lady K, and Kagome who is from a different time, you would think she would teach her stregath or somthing, mybe self worth, but who knows.

Updat soon, please I must know what happends.

hugs

OMG! What just happened?!! I can understand Sesshomaru traded Rin for lands and power, but why Komori kidnapped her? If the "bargain" was already assured, why he did that? Why not Sesshomaru just came and bring her himself to the eastern lands? And what was that kiss? O.o This fanfic is unpredictable for sure, but things happened too fast in the chapter 7, I think. The "negociations" weren't showed, but it's ok. But Sesshomaru could come back and explain it before Komori's appearance. Of course, Sesshomaru would demand Rin obey. And I can understand Komori doing those things to Rin, he's a villain, we expect him to do those kind of things, but after he ripped off Rin's kimono what did she do? Cried? Yelled for help? What did she thought while Komori was touching her? Was she disgusted? And what Komori was thinking? Was he thinking she was pretty or something like that? And where did he bring her after that? To western or eastern lands? I think, it would make more sense if she was in the western lands again and Komori just did all those things to have sure she was a virgin before accept the deal with Sesshomaru, but she woke up in some different room and not her bedroom and Sesshomaru said he was glad she came... Was she naked? Komori ripped her kimono... In the chapter 8, Sesshomaru said "Risk losing the one person who means anything to me?" It seemed that he was talking about someone else, but before it he kissed Rin... If Rin get married with someone else, is he already not losing her in some way too? OMG! Giant review! O.o Oh! In my last review something happened and it repeated itself three times! O.o But somehow it cut off a part of this, so I had to post the last part again in another review. Sorry! T_T I don't know what happened. Well... keep writting! ;D
