Forever And Always

 

She’s sitting at the table, the hour’s getting later

He was supposed to be here, she’s sure he would’ve called

She waits a little longer, there’s no one in the driveway

No one’s said they’ve seen him, “why is something wrong?”

She looks back to the window, suddenly the phone rings

A voice says something’s happened, that she should come right now

Her mind goes to December, she thinks of when he asked her

He bent down on his knee first, and he said,

Kagome was sitting at the table waiting for Inuyasha to pull into the driveway.  She’s called everyone and no one knows where he is.  Then the phone rings and a voice says that she should come to the hospital immediately.  She jumps up and grabs her coat and runs out the door.  She was thinking back to when he got down on his knee and asked her to be his wife, and she gladly accepted.

Through the good and the bad and the ugly

We’ll grow old together, forever and always

 

She pulls up to the entrance, she walks right the front desk

They lead her down a million halls, a maze that’s never ending

They talk about what happened, but she can barely hear them

She tries to keep a straight face, as she walks into the room

She sits by his bedside, holds his hand too tight

They talk about the kids, they’re gonna have and the good life

The house on the hillside, were they would stay

 

Kagome drives through traffic and it seems to take forever.  She finally pulls up to the entrance, and walks up to the front desk.  The nurses tell her he was hit by a drunk driver, but she doesn’t hear a word they say.  She walks into the room and sees him hooked up to a machine, and tries to keep a straight face.  She sits next to him and holds his hand, as he opens his eyes.  “You’re here.”

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be then here by your side.  You need to focus on getting better so we can get married and have all those children.”

“Buy that big house on the hillside,” he smiled.  “Where there’s plenty of room for the kids to run and play.  The place where we will raise our kids, and our grandkids, and grow old together.”  She lowered her lips to his softy and their tears mingled.

Through the good and the bad and the ugly

We’ll grow old together, and always remember

Whether rich or for poor or for better

We’ll still love each other, forever and always

Then she gets an idea and calls in the nurses

Brings up the Chaplin and he says a couple versus

She borrows some rings from the couple next door

Everybody’s laughing as the tears fall on the floor

She looks into his eyes, and she says,

 

“Inuyasha, let’s get married right here, right now.”  He nodded and she told the nurses her idea.  The nurses told there was a couple next door she might be able to borrow some rings from.  She walked in and asked if she could borrow their rings.  “My fiancé won’t last much longer and we want to get married.  Can we please borrow your rings?  I’ll give them back.”  They looked at each other and agreed.  She walked back to Inuyasha’s room and the Chaplin was already there.  He said some versus, and Kagome looked into his eyes as they started to exchange vows.

Whether happy or sad or whatever

She finishes the vows but the beeps are getting too slow

His voice is almost too low

As he says,

 

Inuyasha had tears in his eyes, and he could feel his heart weakening.  He looked at Kagome and motioned for her to come closer.

 

I love you forever, forever and always

Please just remember even if I’m not there

I’ll always love you forever and always

Kagome kissed his lips and fell to the ground as she burst into tears.
