Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha. Inuyasha was created by Rumiko Takahashi. I make no profit from writing this story.

Author’s note.  I really and not entirely sure where I will go with this no promises  but thanks for reading it. I want it to be shonen ai or yaoi  but  Have not decided on any of the pairings  what so ever but I suppose  it is going to be mainly SessxInu.

The Jackal  God  is sort of an oc  but is based off the Egyption God Anubus.  Also there may be more violence than sex in this story  for a while...

The Jackal God’s Desire

Chapter 1: The Jackal God’s Desire

The tall lean figure looked about.  His bronze skin and strange garb might have caused others to stop and stare if they were not dead already.  The figure wore the mask of a jackal.  His eyes narrowed.  He had been searching.  There were rumors of a powerful creature that was like him; a godly dog.  The name Sesshomaru whispered in the back of his mind.  The jackal headed figure smirked showing razor sharp teeth.  This man…no not a man…no mortal man at least…This man had traveled many miles.  Over desert sand he rode a chariot.  When he reached rockier terrain he released his horses, only taking the strongest to ride, the others were left to fend for themselves.  No matter the cost; He only cared for one thing, power.

The strange being clicked his tongue and grabbed the reigns of his steed.  He led the magnificent war horse over slain bodies.  Blood soaked sandals trampled his victims purposefully enjoying the feel of carnage beneath his feet.  The air was fresh and crisp so different than the beating son and arid heat of the desert.  The mortals who had witnessed the blood bath cowered in fear and reverence.  The figure spoke but none seemed to share his tongue…

…Inuyasha grumbled as the group decided to stop, once again, for a rest.  The group set about making a fire having decided it was time for a meal.  It was not as if he could argue with that.  He loved the salty noodles Kagome brought from her time.  It was just that these humans…even Shippo, a full blooded demon…they didn’t really know what it was like to go without food for lengthy periods.

Kagome was the worst.  Yes, he cared about her well-being…Yes, he liked the wench.  He didn’t know if he loved her.  He could never be sure just how he really felt.  If she was feeling bitchy and sitting him all day long he really felt like hating her.  When she worried over him and tried to tend his wounds; chiding him for his recklessness; he got this pleasant warmth in his belly and his heart skipped a beat.

Feh! It didn’t matter all females were confusing to him.  Mostly he just felt disinterested in females.  The Inuhanyou climbed into the nearest tree and reclined waiting for the meal to be ready.  Kagome called to everyone not to go too far…Just like a mother hen…

…The ocean breeze tugged at his tunic.  The large figure looked around he could kill everybody in sight but he needed them, for the time.  He grunted in annoyance not being understood was becoming an inconvenience.  He nodded to one of the men dressed in a simple robe made of some coarse material.  The jackal knew that fine silks came from this country but it was obviously still a luxury.  The man stared at his feet and approached.

Jackal grabbed the front of his robe and lifted him off the ground.  The smaller man screamed and fought.  The huge creature shook him angrily and screamed at the poor defenseless mortal.  The man looked at the masked figure in horror as its maw opened.  The Jackal tilted his head and pressed his lips to the mouth of the mortal in a sick imitation of a kiss and inhaled.  The man’s movements slowed and then he grew slack as his limbs shriveled and his hair became brittle and grey.  The man was only a husk and when the larger entity dropped him his body crumbled into dust.  The large being spat in distaste, mortals tasted of salt and dirt.

The men at the harbor screamed and started to run but then a booming voice spoke in their dialect.  He told them that those who fled would not get far and those who stayed and served under him would be rewarded with riches and happiness in the afterlife.

Not to be dissuaded from fleeing some of the men furthest away turned and ran.  In a flash of light they stopped where they stood.  The being roared and the men began to bleed. Slowly they fell into piles of carnage.  Those innocents that were too near the victims shrieked and fell; blood running from their ears, noses and mouths.  They died; though not as quickly…

…The Jackal found the trip across the sea to be not at all unpleasant.  He smiled showing off the fearsome sharp daggers that were his teeth to the crew of the vessel.  One of the men brought him a drink…they called Jiu.  He took a sip of the proffered drink; it was sweet.  Quite pleasant, he would reward this man by making his death quick and painless once he had what he wanted.  His reward in the afterlife would be great also. The godly being dismissed the man and relaxed with his Jiu…

…Long silver tresses flowed behind the majestic figure of Sesshomaru.  Ahead of him ran his young ward the human female called Rin.  His vassal at his side groveling like a worm, and his trusty steed Ah Un grazed on the flora near their little band.  He rarely spoke.  His demeanor was always serene, his visage remaining placid even in the most extreme of circumstances…except where one individual was concerned.  His disgrace of a sibling; his half-brother; the downfall of the great Inutaisho.  Inuyasha’s very existence marred his noble heritage, and yet the little stain had managed to survive.  No not just survive.  The boy had earned even a fleeting respect of him, of the one who hated him the most.

The little hanyou had the respect and fear of many demons.  Still disdained and loathed for his parentage, but it was a foolish demon who took him too lightly.  It had cost life, and limb, of many; himself included.  Sesshomaru ignored the angry tingling of phantom pains in his once whole arm.

Sesshomaru’s nose wrinkled.  As if to taunt him, his brother’s scent teased his nasal cavity.  Sesshomaru rubbed the hilt of his sword thoughtfully.  Why was he so lured.  Why did he ultimately seek out his brother if not to kill him.  Really would Inuyasha not have been dead long ago if he truly wanted it?  Sesshomaru could not admit his own failings.  And perhaps part of him…the infinitesimal part of him that accepted the pest as a worthy adversary…perhaps that tiny part of him did not want to see his brother broken and lifeless…

…Sharp canines flashed as they docked.  Oh these mortals were so like ants running around; little insects lacking the proper respect for one so much more powerful than them.  He heard the change in dialect and sighed yet another language barrier.  It had taken a lot of that delicious drink to wash the ashy taste of mortal soul out of his mouth before.  He noticed his little favorite was speaking to the men at the dock and seemed to be at least proficient in the native tongue.  He thought about it… This man had pleased him and served him well on the voyage.  He would honor the little mortal by preserving his mortal coil for a while longer.  The rest were useless to him and so he let loose a shriek and the men fell over dead.  Traces of blood seeped from their orifices.  The men on the dock shrieked and ran.  The Jackal didn’t care however.  He only needed a means of conveyance for himself and the mortal he had chosen as a servant.
