This story takes place 5 years after Naraku is destroyed.

The female Wolf-Demon, Ayame, crouched down to examine the tracks in the mud, "Yes, these are most definitely it."

One of Ayame's snow white wolves came up beside her, sniffing at the tracks, "Smell where it went, Kilana?"

Kilana howled at her, running to the west, Ayame and her two other wolves ran after her. By the look of the tracks, the demon was large, but nothing Ayame couldn't handle! Kilana and the other wolves began to bark up ahead. She smelled the demon alright. Rounding the corner, Ayame spotted the huge beast. It was a bear-demon. Big, hairy, and extremely ugly. Her wolves began to growl. "Easy.." Ayame warned.

The Bear-demon lumbered over towards them, angrily swiping at her and the wolves. Ayame expertly dodged each swing. Back flipping on to a tree branch she threw her razor sharp leaves that were much like ninja stars. The Bear-demon howled in pain and charged towards her.

Ayame, was caught slightly off guard, she wasn't expecting the demon to move that fast. Slapping a leave between her hands, she nodded and poked it into the tree before leaping away. The bear demon crashed into the tree, roaring loudly when he did not find the wolf-demon there.

Ayame clapped her hands together. The branches of the tree began to wrap around the Bear-demon. The demon struggled, but to no avail. The tree branches were far too strong and strangled it until it lay limp. Ayame giggled, "Yay! It worked!"

Her wolves howled appreciatively. Ayame drew her sword, cutting off the bear-demons head with one clean swipe. Looking extremely proud of herself, she left the headless corpse, heading towards the packs camp.

Deeper in the forest, unknown to a proud Ayame, two golden eyes watched the retreating form of Ayame.

Ayame strolled into camp, beaming with accomplishment. "Ayame you're back! And you killed that bear-demon! Great job!", called one of the wolf pack members.

She giggled, smiling and waving, "Thank you!"

Ahead was the pack leader, he seemed to be speaking with another member of the pack, and man did he have a nice ass. Ayame grinned inwardly.

"I'm not sure if she'll come back, she was such a petite thing", she overhead the pack leader saying.

Ayame snorted, 'Bastards didn't think I could do it', she thought to herself. Ayame clear her throat loudly, throwing the head at the leaders feet. "This petite little thing just killed herself a bear-demon."

The leader stepped a few paces back, staring at the head with disgust, "Uh... yes. I see this. Apparently we will not be needing your services after all, Kouga."

Kouga? Ayame couldn't believe her eyes as Kouga turned to face her... it was almost in slow motion. Ayame could see little hearts and sparkles. 'Oh Kouga...', she sighed dreamily in her head.

"Ayame! There you are. I knew you could do it!", Kouga said with that sexy grin.

'Oh that smile...' she thought. Kouga threw his arm around Ayame's shoulder and said to the pack leader, "My Ayame is tougher then she looks!"

Ayame blinked a few times. 'MY Ayame? My..? My..?! MY??? Did Kouga actually just call me his?'. The pack leader nodded, having the head carried away, "I see that. You have my deepest thanks Ayame, you have helped us greatly."

Kouga beamed a smile at her chuckling, patting her on the back before moving away from her. "You are welcome to stay with us as long as you need to, Ayame. You too Kouga. You presence is an honor", the pack leader continued.

Ayame thanked the pack leader for his kindness before she turned to Kouga, "It's good to see you again, Kouga."

"It's good to see you too, how is The Elder?"

"Gramps is doing good. The pack settled down again after that attack. It's been very peaceful." Ayame smiled, it had been nice knowing that she had left the pack in safety of expertly trained warriors that had recently joined the pack to keep The Elder safe.

Kouga arched a brow, "Why aren't you with them? This seems like pretty dangerous work for a little girl."

The she wolf-demon stomped her foot, frowning, "I'm not a little girl anymore!! I'm 21! And besides... it was boring there. Someone with my kind of strength should be out saving people and stuff... like that..."

Kouga stepped back, waving his arms in front of him, "Alright! Alright! You're not a little girl anymore!", he chuckled, "Almost ready to be married off, eh?"

As soon as Kouga said it, he looked like he wished he hadn't. Ayame glared at the ground, "Funny, this one DICK HEAD wolf-demon rejected me for a MORTAL."

Kouga gulped. "And on top of that," Ayame looked up sweetly at Kouga, "I talked to Kagome just the other day, she's getting married to Inuyasha!"

"Is that so?", Kouga asked, looking a little put out.

"Figures Kagome would of pick that mangy mutt. I never knew what she saw in him."

Kouga made a face, as if he could almost smell the 'mangy mutt'. "That IS so. Kagome is even planning on children!", Ayame declared.

Kouga rolled his eyes, staying quiet. Ayame pointed her toe into the ground, twisting it around while she looked up sweetly at Kouga. "So.. Kouga. Have you considered a different mate?"

Kouga nervously looked down at Ayame. He was well aware of the fact that Ayame wanted to be his bride. "Uh... right... other mate.. well um. Yes! I have to be going now, Ayame.....", Kouga glanced around for the nearest escape.

"Bye!!!", Kouga then ran off in his usual whirlwind.

Ayame huffed. Why must he be so hard to get? Her wolves whined at her feet while Ayame stared after Kouga, pouting. She sniffed loudly, 'Oh, Koug-', Ayame frowned, stopping short from going into her dreamy state.

She sniffed again. Dog. It smelled like a Dog-Demon. And it wasn't Inuyasha, she'd better check it out and make sure the pack was safe.

Whistling to her wolves to follow, she followed the scent.

The scent led her to a huge field of flowers. She couldn't smell the dog anymore, the scent of the flowers was far too over-powering. Mmm, they DID smelled wonderful though! She looked around admiring the site. So many pretty flowers... and a random human girl.

Eh? Ayame stared curiously. There, in the middle of this field of flowers was girl, probably in her early teens. She was humming happily as she picked flowers.

Kuito, another one of her wolves, sniffed at one of the flowers, and then sneezed. Loudly. Ayame rolled her eyes grumbling, "THANKS Kuito...."

The girl gasped and looked up, spotting Ayame the girl stood, looking at the wolves with a frightened look. "Oh don't worry! We won't hurt you!", she pointed for her wolves to stay.

Ayame approached the frightened girl slowly. "I'm sorry if I scared you, I was just admiring all these beautiful flowers... I don't blame you for stopping to pick some."

The raven-haired girl slowly nodded, smiling happily, "They're for my Lord Sesshomaru!"

Ayame smiled, looking at the flower selection, "I bet he'll love them!"

Ayame figured this young girl was probably picking these flowers for a young human boy she admired. 'How sweet!', she smiled, 'Young love is so cute!'

The girl examined the flowers with doubt, "You think so? Rin thinks she could pick some prettier ones..."

Ayame also looked at the flowers with thought, "It could used some more blue ones-"

"YOU LEAVE HER ALONE! RIN!! RIN!! COME HERE!!!", Ayame was interrupted by a screeching green imp.

Both Rin and Ayame stared at him with blank looks. The little green imp scowled at Rin, then glared at Ayame. "Step back or you will feel the wrath of the staff!!"

"Master Jak-", Rin attempted to explain.

"RIN! Stand back! I will protect you! And Lord Sesshomaru will be pleased!", the imp declared.

Ayame just stood there, her eyebrow raised as far as it would go. Was this little imp serious...?

"Jaken", a cold voice came from the edge of the field.

Ayame's eyes moved towards the voice. There stood a tall Dog-demon. The very demon she had smelled earlier! Long, silver hair framed a face of pure male perfection. Each detail of his face was chiseled into lines of sexiness and yumminess. His golden amber eyes were staring right at her while she oogled him. She though Kouga was drool worthy, but this demon was.. to die for.

While Ayame had a huge debate in her head about sexiness of certain demons, the Dog-demon coldly said, "Leave her. Rin, it's time to go home."

Rin awwwed and dragged her feet as she walked over to him, "But Lord Sesshomaru... I want to stay with you longer...", the girl pouted up at the demon.

Ayame watched the sight in amazement. Two demons with a human girl? What kind of fucked up family was this? So much for young human love...

Sesshomaru glanced one last time at Ayame before the three of them disappeared into the forest.

Ayame scratched her nose. Well, today has been interesting. Kilana whined behind her. "Alright! Alright! Lets go get food!"
