I do not own Inuyasha, and I do not make any money from these writings. If I did I would be trying to buy the rights to Sesshoumaru.
Meant to Be (Revised Version)
I'm the original author for this story Indolentia, I just lost my password. It's revised a bit but mostly the same although there are some important parts so you might wanna at least skim through. I hope I've still got some readers and that I can actually finish this time!

MEANT TO BE
Sango stood on the edge of a cliff, brown eyes blank as she thought of all that encompassed her life so far. It would be wonderful if she could just let go, be free from everything that was destroying her inside. Closing her eyes she lifted her face to the cool breeze. Just once she wanted to be rid of the pain; was that too much to ask? Was it too much to hope for her little brother back? Tears tumbled down her cheeks, her hands swiping them away mere seconds before Inuyasha approached.
“What’re you doin’ here? The others are worried.” Inuyasha snapped. He stared hard at the taijaiya’s rigid back before he frowned; she had become distant the past few weeks. “Why are you crying?”
“I’m not crying.” She said it in the same monotonous tone she had perfected recently. Inuyasha knew she was lying…he just did not know why.
“We have to get back to camp.” He stood watching her closely as she turned to face him, hoping to get some hint as to what was wrong with the taijaiya. Sango seemed normal at first glance but he had been around her long enough to notice the small differences. Like the way her shoulders were slightly tense and the way she refused to look at him as she passed. Needless to say he was worried about her… although it’d be a cold day in hell before he’d admit it to anyone.
They’d barely stepped into camp when Kagome practically flew over to them, “Where’ve you been? We were worried about you!”
Suddenly Sango’s head shot up, eyes blazing, “I am not a child! I can go and come as I please!”
Wordlessly everyone gaped in shock at the usually calm taijaiya’s outburst. Inuyasha was the one to first recover.
“You don’t have to shout at her wench! She was just worried!” He however, was not prepared for the look of utter contempt that she shot his way.
“Of course that’s what it was,” she sneered. “And of course you would rush to sweet Kagome’s defense.” The words tumbled from her lips before she could stop them. Sango had no intention of hurting the woman she loved like a sister but the words had already been said. Inuyasha always stuck up for Kagome, he always defended his perfect little miko.
“What the hell does that mean?” the angry bite in his words only helped to further spike her temper.
“Take it whatever way you want,” and just like that her temper seemed to have deflated. Tiredly she moved to sit before the fire, eyes once again blank as she gazed into its depths.
Gradually they all moved towards the fire and sat down to eat. Half-way through the meal Miroku decided to take a chance. Maybe it was stupidity. Maybe it was an effort on the monk’s part to try and return things to a sense of normalcy. Whatever it was Miroku reached out his cursed hand and groped her. Bracing for a slap, her reaction threw him off-guard.
She stiffened even more than normal before inhaling deeply and turning towards him, “Do you really think so little of me houshi-sama?”
Startled, he could only blink awkwardly before even attempting to defend himself, “Of course not lady Sango. You must know that I think you are an exceptionally talented woman and warrior.”
“Is that why you continually grope me?” Her eyes narrowed dangerously then and she leaned ever so threateningly forward. “If you ever do that to me again, I swear I will rip that accursed appendage off and shove it down your throat. Do you understand me?”
Miroku gaped, fear of the woman before him quickly lancing up his spine. He had no doubt that in the current mood she was in she would not hesitate to do what she had threatened.
“Yes, Lady Sango.”
Nodding contentedly she turned back to her food, not noticing the worried glances her companions shot each other.
