The first chapter of two in a little look inside the life of Sesshoumaru and Drai. There is a huge back story on Drai and it has become a hobby to try and get her out of my head.

Chapter 1

“Mmmmmm …” I moaned in my sleep as I was being carried by my mate, Sesshoumaru. We were headed towards his home in the Western Lands. I slept soundly against his chest with an arm draped lazily around his neck while the other clutched his outer kimono like I thought he was going to disappear … or that I would.

When we arrived at the castle, calling it any less would be an insult. Sesshoumaru took extra care to keep me asleep. He did not want to disturb his precious mate. As he stepped through the barrier protecting his home, the guards came to meet their Lord. The last thing they expected to see was him cradling a female as if she was the most important thing in his life. Too bad they didn’t know the truth.

The commander of Sesshoumaru’s guard walked up and kneeled before the Lord and Tai-Youkai of the Western Lands.

“Welcome home Lord Sesshoumaru-sama.”

“Hnn, “ was the response he received, but that didn’t detour a much younger and very headstrong recruit from inquiring about the beauty clad in only their Lords outer Kimono and held protectively to his chest.

Said recruit turned to the one next to him and snickered,

“Looks like someone had a good time; she must have been an awesome fuck for him to actually bring her back though.”

Sesshoumaru was outraged, the other guards were shocked, while the two new recruits merely laughed to themselves not noticing how deathly quiet everything had become nor the fact that Sesshoumarus’ eyes were now a very powerful crimson while his aura was crackling in fury. In a flash the enraged Tai-Youkai was in front of the two recruits; his aura practically suffocating the two.

“Mmmm..... Sessh, what’s wrong?” I mumbled in a sleep filled daze. I could sense he was seething mad and could feel his beast fighting for control.

Waking up a bit, I leaned closer to his ear and whispered, “What’s got you so upset?” Knowing no matter the situation this could get very dangerous for all others in the area I knew I had to get him calmed down.

I started a soothing purr deep in my chest so he could feel it right through to his darker side. Then I released his haori and snaked my arm around his neck to meet the hand I had previously on his neck for support. I then started playing with the fine hairs at the base of his neck underneath all his beautiful hair, and then I threaded my fingers through his hair and over his scalp in a massage like manner. During this my mouth went to his neck, breathed in his sent, and preceded to nip and suck at the sensitive flesh.

Sesshoumaru closed his eyes and sucked in a deep breath while I continued my ministrations. He stayed like this for about a minute until he slowly let his breath out and when he opened his eyes again they were a beautiful amber once again.
“Viidar!” Sesshoumaru barked. The leader cautiously walked up to his master once again and kneeled.


“I never want to see these two again, not on my training field and not in the House of the Moon. They are released from service.” Sesshoumaru hissed.

A collective gasp was heard from the other men. This was a very severe punishment, all would know of their disgrace and it would follow them wherever they went.

And then like a flash Sesshoumaru was gone and with it the suffocating aura.

Sesshoumaru stopped once he had reached his chambers and lay me down gently on his bed.
I stretched like a lazy cat and looked up at him hungrily licking my lips as I did so. All my spent energy from travelling here was slowly coming returning to me, and I had defiantly missed my mate, my Sesshoumaru.

“I apologise for waking you.” He said in a serious voice with a strange look in his eyes.

“Well, you defiantly scared the crap out of them.” I replied waving my arm to state I did not mind being awoken.

Sesshoumaru turned away from me in response and headed towards the door.

“Wha.....? Where are you going?!” I almost shouted at him as I got up and, beating him to the door stood in front of it effectively stopping him mid stride. I looked at him with confusion written all over my face. The look I saw in his eyes was so cold I could feel the frost bite start on my toes.

“I know I scared you...... I was going to leave before I do something worse.” He plainly stated.

I stood there, gaping like a fish, totally confused that he thought I was scared of him. When I didn’t reply after a few seconds he looked away and his shoulders slumped in defeat; then he once again tried for the door. He politely pushed me out of the way, opened the door and took a full step out before I could actually get my brain around what he had said so that I could stop him.

In reflex fast motion I grabbed a chunk of silky silver hair and pulled.

“You get back here mister. You’re not going anywhere.”

He just looked at me with shock and confusion all over his face with a hint of anger in the background. I assumed for having the nerve to pull his hair.

“Look, sorry for pulling your hair love, but you confuse the hell out of me. I’m not scared of you at all. What made you think that?”

I saw a tiny flicker of hope in those amber eyes and knew I wanted to keep it there and watch it grow, not to mention see a few other emotions that just may darken those orbs to a fiery orange.

“I felt your fear when I reprimanded those idiots, you were afraid of me.....” he ended in an almost whisper.

“I wasn’t afraid of you, Sesshoumaru. I was afraid your beast was going to control you, I was afraid for everyone in the near vicinity. But I wasn’t afraid of YOU. You would never hurt me no matter what form you’re in; I have no fear of your beast or you. In fact, I remember some kinky sex including your more aggressive side.” I answered.

The look of total relief in his face made me feel so much better; so much so, I grabbed his face and kissed him. He was startled at first then followed my lead with much enthusiasm taking over the kiss. I slid my hands into the hair that I loved and had missed so much, and buried my face in the crook of his neck. Sesshoumaru kissed the top of my head and wrapped one arm around my shoulders and one under my bum to lift me up. I tangled my legs around his waist so I was touching as much of him as possible.

“I love you; you overgrown puppy.” I murmured into his ear.

His shoulders started to shake so I looked to his face, and there I found the most wonderful thing. Laughter, he was trying so hard not o laugh. Then he lost the battle and broke out in full laughter. He had tears streaming down his face. When he could breath once again he looked down at me, kissed me and said,

“I love you to my little vixen,” And kissed me again. It was a beautiful first night back.
