I Still Miss You
I Still Miss You
Inuyasha both loved and hated the stillness of the night. He hated it because it gave him time to think and he loved it because it gave him time to remember. As always, all thoughts led to Kagome.
I’ve talk to friends
I’ve talked to myself
I’ve talked to God
I prayed like hell but I still miss you
She had brought so many changes into his life. He had friends and a place to belong. He knew that she was responsible for every good thing he had in his life. He felt guilty, she had given him so much, but late at night, he wished and he prayed. The Kami wouldn’t be so cruel to give her to him and then just take her away forever. That just couldn’t happen.
I tried sober I tried drinking
I’ve been strong and I’ve been weak
and I still miss you
He grimaced as he remembered his one night with the Sake jug. How could humans stand that stuff? Miroku had said that most humans drank to dull pain. Oh, how he wanted that ache in his heart to ease. It didn’t work. He ended up sick and with a headache that lasted all the next day. Kagome would have been ashamed of his weakness.
I’ve done everything to move on like I’m supposed to
I’d give anything for one more minute with you
I still miss you
No, no she wouldn’t. Kagome was never ashamed of him. All she asked was that he live. Live and be happy. He would live. For her. But happiness was beyond his reach.
I never knew til you were gone
how many pages you were on
it never ends I keep turning
and lone after line you are there again
He absently searched the night sky, seeing the beauty. A falling star caught his attention. He found himself closing his eyes and making a wish like he had seen her do a thousand times. Giving a watery chuckle, he knew he would never be the same. She was everything to him. He held out hope that she would return. Come back to him. She had promised to always stay by his side.
I don’t know how to let you go
You are so deep in my soul
I feel helpless, so hopeless
It’s a door that never closes
no, I don’t know how to do this
Her face came to him then. Telling him she loved him. As a half-demon. She never wanted him to change. He thought of his battle with the demons inside the jewel when he was trying to get to Kagome. He believed it was their fate to meet. They belonged together.
She would be back. And when she returned, he would never let her go again.
