Dear Diary
A/N: This is something that I came up with from my writer's craft class, and I am just getting to putting it here now.
Dear Diary,
Today I met the most beautiful creature! He is tall, thin framed, with the most amazing sun-kissed eyes! His hair is on the long side and seems to be naturally white. And … he is my best friends’ half-brother! Yasha will only say that they don’t get along very well, so I guess I won’t be seeing him too often … but a girl can hope!
Dear Diary,
OMG! When I went over to Yasha’s, he and his half-brother were fighting! Not the everyday “You look ridiculous in that, stupid!” type of fight, but the all out, “I’m going to beat the crap out of you!” kind! But Yasha’s brother stopped the whole thing by giving him a shoved into the couch after he caught sight of me. He then growled something at Yasha, who was still sprawled on the couch, and stalked away. At the time, I could only stare. I couldn’t even go see how Yasha was, I was so taken aback! Next time, I will just give him a piece of my mind for beating the crap out of his brother!
Dear Diary,
Yasha abandoned me at the movies again. He was nowhere to be seen once the show was over. Maybe seeing his old girlfriend, Kikyo, may have something to do with it. Dammit! That idiot promised he wouldn’t leave me high and dry like that again! Especially if I had no other mode of transport but him. *sigh* When I was about to give up all hope and catch the bus *shudder*, Sess (Yasha’s brother) showed up. He looked at me with his gold eyes and asked where Yasha was, I briefly explained. So, when it seemed as though our conversation (if you want to call it that) was done, I was about to turn to head for the bus stop, when he said he would “escort me home”! My jaw just about dropped between my sneakers, when he abruptly turned and walked towards his slick silver Camry, parked just behind him at the curb. I scrambled into his car and snapped my belt before he changed his mind. The ride was full of that awkward silence. When he pulled up at the curb, I unsnapped my belt and got out. When I leaned back in to thank him for the ride he was just looking at me, I said my Thanks and heard his grunt of return. I closed the door and quickly walked inside; he didn’t drive off until I was behind my door, very nice of him. And so, here I am.
Dear Diary,
I was at the library late tonight, researching for my English project; and when I went to leave to walk the few blocks home, up pulls this silver Camry. I didn’t think much of it as I was still coming down the long set of stairs in front of the building. Once I hit the bottom step and was about to turn towards home, the passenger window rolled down. I glanced in out of reaction, and was surprised to hear him tell me to “get in”. I stopped and took a better look at the driver, almost mistaking him for his half-brother. I was about to ask him why, when he issued his “request” again. I looked up the street, thinking about the five long blocks I would have to walk, and then turned to look at him. I shrugged and got in. One quiet ride later, I Thanked him with his customary grunt in return, and I was back at home. I wonder why he showed up? Yasha had called me earlier and said he wasn’t able to pick me up because of some family thing, so shouldn’t HE have been there too? And how did he know that I needed a ride anyway? *sigh* The mysteries of life.
Dear Diary,
So, I have been getting almost regular rides from Sess lately. He seems to show up at just the right time; when I’m done school and Yasha has buggered off to wherever; I’m on my way home from the library; I’ve just left Sango and her lectures that take the usual rants of “Kagome? Why are you always waiting around for Yasha? He’s no good for you …” yada yada yada. *sigh* I was feeling really low at that time and I guess Sess somehow sensed that because he didn’t give his usual terse grunt when I Thanked him after he drove me home. He actually spoke and said “You’re Welcome.” I was so stunned that he finally spoke to me that I about fell out of his car. When I glanced back at him, I think I saw a twinkle in his eye. Will wonders never cease?
Dear Diary,
That stupid Yasha! That bastard was cheating on me! We have been going out for months now, and I caught him necking with his EX-GIRLFRIEND KIKYO!! UGH! I don’t know what I ever saw in him … hmm … maybe I was using as a substitute for the one I really like … Sess. But I could never let him know, it would add an awkwardness that I don’t if I could handle. *sigh* I hope I will see him again soon. He seemed to have backed off once Yasha and I started going out, and I miss our drives here to my home. Maybe …
Dear Diary,
Today was a really crappy day. Yasha and his … woman just couldn’t help to rub it into face that he has moved on to “better things”. UGH! I managed to hold in my tears until I was on my way home. I was just walking along, quickly, when I noticed a familiar silver Camry pull up beside me. I didn’t even wait for the window to roll down before I hopped in and was bucked up. He drove off in silence. It wasn’t until almost 10 minutes had passed that I realized we were on the highway, driving out of town. When I turned to look at him, he glanced over and told me to “Just relax, we’ll be at our destination in a few minutes.” I was too emotionally drained to fight, so I just sat back and watched the scenery. Well, to make a long story short, he had taken me to the beach. We had dinner in one of those beachside diners and started to talk. I told him about what happened with Yasha and Kikyo, and he spoke a little about himself. When he drove me home, there was no awkward silence, there was jazz quietly playing on the radio, and the stars were shining, and the moon was smiling down on us. I asked him why he did this, he just looked at me and gave one of his rare smiles, not really at me answering, he then said “Goodnight Kagome. Sleep peacefully.” I guess I was in a daze because I don’t remember much after. I think Sess got out of the car, and walked me up the drive to my door. He opened it, and gave me a light kiss to my forehead and pushed me inside. Damn, but I still slightly feel the fog that covered my brain when he smiled …
Dear Diary,
It has been several years since I have last written here, and for that I apologize. I have been married to Sess for the past three years and we are now expecting our first child. To explain some, it turns out that way back when, before I even started dating Yasha, Sess had taken a liking to me. That is why he began giving me rides. He says that he had taken an interest in me that day that I had first seen him, when I was visiting Yasha’s. I had asked him about the fight, and he said that even then Yasha was insulting me, and he had taken an exception to a certain comment (which he still refuses to tell!) and proceeded to beat him. Well, going on, after the night of my last entry, Sess began picking me up daily. We went out to restaurants and such, me being the slow person I am, it wasn’t until we were out for dinner, and some of Sess’ friends stopped by our table and he introduced me as his girlfriend. We talked and laughed quite a bit about that one! And it was just a little more than a year later, at the same restaurant that he proposed to me! I, obviously, said yes! We were married 6 months later, and with the usual bumps and crashes, here we are! I . . . . . . . . . DAMMIT! Contraction, gotta go get Sess and get to the hospital . . . . . . . . .
~ * ~ * ~
So, what do you think? Not my best, but was it entertaining? Tell me what you think.
Until we meet again.
