Chapter 1
A long time ago when myths, tall tales, demons, and legends were born there were creatures called mermaids in existence. This was a time of fairies and magic flowed as freely as the air we now breathe. Such things even existed down deep in a place called Atlantis, home of the King of the Ocean itself Tritogaou. A most formidable and yet gentle ruler.
It was in this time a tiny creature was born to the ocean world. This child was a strange looking dogfish with pointed ears on top of his head. His name was Meryasha.
Unfortunately for Meryasha, his Father was always too busy fighting catfish to train him so he was stuck with his asshole elder brother instead, the all powerful Sesshoumeru who was a pure blooded dogfish demon like his Father where Meryasha was a half dogfish demon and half goldfish.
“Inuyasha…where are you half breed!”
Sesshoumeru growled out looking for his little brother all over the place. Meryasha was of course in his hidden cave playing with all the new toys he found above the sea.
Hearing his brother however, Meryasha scrambled out of the cave in order for no one to find out about his secret treasures.
“What do you want bastard?”
Meryasha stated with as much respect as he could muster.
“You are supposed to be learning your fighting techniques with me not daydreaming. Come.”
The goldfish part of Inuyasha wanted to tell Sesshoumeru to fuck off, but his dog demon side reminded him of the pain that might ensue if he did not follow orders.
“Keh…….fine………”
Meryasha grumbled.
Little Meryasha dreamed of being something more and of walking about like the other goldfish on the land breathing air, coughing up smog, and enjoying all those loud noises from the freeway that was located above the beach.
“What were you doing mutt?”
Sesshoumeru inquired wondering where Meryasha hid himself most of the time.
“I went to the surface for a breath of fresh air you asshole. I don’t need a babysitter ya know.”
Sesshoumeru growled and smacked Meryasha on the back of his head.
“That is forbidden and you know it Meryasha! It is dangerous for you to do this and you could bring trouble to us all if you do not leave those damn goldfish alone! Do you not recall that they were the reason you are the way you are? You could have been a full dogfish had it not been for them!”
Meryasha roared.
“I am not an abomination! Quit belittling me and insulting my Mother!”
Sesshoumeru ignored Meryasha’s outburst. He was a foolish child and would learn someday that this Sesshoumeru was right.
“Father forbids you to go up there for a reason Meryasha, do not disobey our Lord Father.”
Meryasha just grumbled the whole way to the training pool where he was beaten down by his brother again. How was he ever going to be able to join the ultimate fighting championship if he could not even beat his brother?
“Do not stress so Meryasha. I am impossible to beat. You did well and Father will be pleased. However, you must be on time to the showing tomorrow morning and no more trips to the surface boy.”
With that Sesshoumeru left Meryasha to his own devices which surely meant trouble. Once again Meryasha ventured his way to the surface and saw a large yacht floating by. Sitting outside in the sunlight was a young girl with long black hair wearing a bikini.
Meryasha could not help drooling a bit at the yacht. He wanted one so bad. Perhaps if he convinced this girl that he was in love with her he could have her buy one for him.
“Kickyou, look what I made!”
A young girl stated as she ran up to the dark haired goldfish.
“What is it Kiteday?”
Kickyou stated as she looked at the drawing.
“It is a mermaid. I drew it all by myself.”
Meryasha snorted. There were no such things as mermaids. There were just dogfish like himself and stupid catfish. Dumb goldfish didn’t know her head from a hole in the ground.
Meryasha swam away and flipped his tail getting both Kickyou and Kiteday wet from his splash.
