Love's Consequences
A.N. I didn't put shouta as the warning because it's not. This story doesn't have a very older man with a young child. It has a 19 year old who is in love with a 15 year old. Which is only a four years difference, plus I am sure that some 19 year olds have 15 year old girlfriends. If you want me to change the warning, however, I will ^_^.
People are reviewing saying they don't get why Miroku goes to jail. In New York this is statutory rape, because he is eighteen and Kohaku is fifteen. Because Kohaku is under the age of consent, Miroku making love to him is considered rape. Unfortunately this happens all the time.
“Would the defendant please rise,” the gray haired judge said; gazing at the young man who once had every thing going for him.
Wearing the suit his grandmother had bought him, Miroku Houshi stood up to face the consequences for the crime he had committed. Eyes never wavering from the nineteen year old, the judge cleared her throat and asked “ has the jury reached a verdict?”
“We have your honor,” reply a a slender black haired woman, who had been the jury foremen.
“And how do you find the defendant,” Judge Kaede Miko asked as calmly as possible.
“We find Mr. Houshi, guilty of statutory rape of the minor Kohaku Toujou,” Ms. Kagome Higurashi said robotically; rendering the jury's verdict with a cold demeanor.
“You maybe seated, Ms. Higurashi,” the old woman said; her gaze remaining on the young defendant sorrowful violet eyes.
Once she was seated, Miroku felt a cold sweat come over him. Now that he knew the verdict, the young man was sure the judge would hand down the harshest sentence possible for his crime. A transgression he had made because he had loved too much. Even though society had told him that what he had done was wrong, Miroku felt differently.
Turning around to face the loving brown eyes of his fifteen year old lover, he wished things could have been different. Miroku should have waited to be with Kohaku like he had wanted to but his boyfriend had been so alluring. So on the day of their one year anniversary, he had succumb to the seduction that was his beautiful Kohaku. He still remembered the night like it was yesterday. They had both been so innocent as they shyly undressed each other. Their first caresses had been soft and gentle as they tentatively explored each others bodies for the first time. Finally after lying them both down on the bed and preparing him properly, Miroku slide into his boyfriend's tight cleft. They had been intertwined in the most passionate of acts when Kohaku's sister, Sango, found them after coming home from a hard day of work.
Now here he was about to go to jail because he had loved too much. Facing the situation head on, Miroku turned back towards the judge and awaited his punishment.
“Mr. Houshi, I hear by sentence you to ten years at the Phoenix Correction Center for men,”
As the sounded of the gavel pounding down on the desk echoed through out the room, the guards handcuffed Miroku and began to led him away. Getting one last look at the sad looking Kohaku, tears filled violet eyes. It would now be ten years until he saw the handsome face of his lover once again. He had been punished for the love he felt for his boyfriend and now Miroku would take his sentence like a man. Hopefully once his time had been served, his lover would still be there to greet him.
