Code Name Killing Perfection
A/N: this story will probably go no where. It was something that just randomly came to me, and unfortunately while I was typing it (While at work) I hit a major block but kept hacking though it. But tell me what you think and I might continue it.
Chapter one: Fact or Fiction.
SILVER HAIRED BEAUTY. HUMAN OR SOMETHING ELSE?
Many eye witness's admit that during the night, sometimes when the moon is the highest, they have caught sightings of a silver haired man roaming the streets of Tokyo Japan. But is this silver haired man human or something more?
“I saw him flick his hand out and cut something with what looked like a green whip that appeared out of no where!” One witness reported. “And he moved lighting fast!”
Others claim that they’ve seen other creatures out in the night when the silver haired man appeared. But the real question is, is this man truly there? And if he is, what is he really?
Kagome sighed as she closed the newspaper. She couldn’t believe the imagination of some people. Sure, she grew up in a shrine where her grandfather raised her to be a miko so one day she could fight against youkai, but really, she didn’t believe for a moment they existed. She fought so much with her grandfather about it and her mother just laughed about it.
She shook her head and opened the newspaper again as she sipped her coffee in a small cafe. Kagome Higurashi was at the young age of twenty five and just recently graduated from police academy with outstanding grades. With her miko training as well, she quickly got into the police force with no trouble. though, her grandfather almost had a stroke when he found out that she had no intention on taking over the shrine. Sota, her younger brother on the other hand would have to.
Kagome’s chocolate eyes scanned the paper once more, and found nothing more of interest. “Like there’s such things as demons.” She chuckled to herself.
“Actually, there are.”
Kagome lowered her paper and stared, almost glared, at the man before her. He was a short older man, his hair white and bolding.
“And you are?” She asked him.
The man cleared his throat. “My name is Myoga Tadashi. You must be Kagome Higurashi.” He held out a small chubby hand.
Kagome looked at the hand for a moment before shaking it. “I am. May I inquire to how you know me?”
Myoga gave her a warm smile and took the seat across from her. “Higurashi-san, your superior has told me a great deal about you. I’m interested in bringing you into our department.”
The raven haired woman arched an eyebrow. “And pray tell what department is that?”
“The department of supernatural investigations.”
Kagome blinked a couple times before snickering. “Tadashi-san, I may have just graduated, but that doesn’t mean you can try and pull a fast one on me. There is no such thing as the supernatural.”
“Quite the contrary Higurashi-san,” Myoga answered. “They are quite real. In fact, how about you come with me? You can make your decision there if you wish.”
Kagome eyed him for a moment. If he tried anything on her, she could always purify him. On top of that she didn’t have to go into the office today. “Then lead the way Tadashi-san.”
“Please, just call me Myoga.”
**
Kagome couldn’t help but to stare. The building was nothing more then a warehouse. A run down warehouse on that note. As if it hadn’t been used in ages. “Myoga-san.” Kagome said to him, her eye practically twitching. “Please tell me this is a joke.”
He shook his head and walked though the large opening. “I assure you Higurashi-san, this is just a front. Come, I’ll show you.”
Kagome followed the short man into the warehouse. She watched him closely as he approached a platform with a keypad on a small pole.
“Myoga Tadashi here with Kagome Higurashi.” He said to the keypad.
She opened her mouth to make a comment when the platform shifted and instantly they were descending. Her eyes widened in shock as they continued to descend into a larger, underground place.
“Welcome to the Department of Supernatural Investigations.” He said with a wide smile. “Though that is pretty much a front.”
Kagome quickly turned her gaze over at him as the platform stopped. “A front?”
“Myoga!” A man yelled as soon as he saw the two. “We have a problem.”
Myoga looked at the man. “What happened this time Hojo?”
The man, Hojo took a couple of deep breaths. It was obvious to Kagome he had been running around.
“Manten’s hair is falling out and he’s throwing a fit about it! I tried to get Hiten to help calm him down, but he refuses!”
Myoga sighed. “Hojo, go and tend to your other duties. I’ll go talk with Manten myself. Come Higurashi-san, I believe its time for you to meet your first youkai.”
Kagome just stood there speechless. She could sense powerful aura’s all over the place. enough to make her skin crawl. Yet she still followed, curiosity getting the better of her.
“Its Hiten’s fault!” A booming voice yelled. “Not only is he gifted with the good looks, he has the better hair too!”
“I still don’t see how its my fault. I just got the better genes brother.”
Myoga shook his head and knocked on the door before opening it. “Should I even ask why you two are fighting today?”
Kagome looked inside the room, her jaw dropping instantly. In the room stood one... creature, and another a man. Though by their aura’s, she knew both were far from being human.
One that looked between the cross of a toad and a man spoke first. “I woke up this morning and the remainder of his hair is gone!”
The other, who looked mostly human, for the exception of his blood red eyes sighed. “And he thinks that I did it.” His red eyes instantly widened as he looked over at Kagome. “What’s this Myoga? You actually brought me a woman this time?” He strolled over to Kagome and smirked. “And a virgin woman at that.”
Kagome clenched her fist and tried her hardest not to just lash out at him. “Try again.” She snapped.
Myoga chuckled. “Kagome, this is Hiten and Manten. Their youkai brothers. Or thunder brothers would be their code name.”
“Code name?” She asked, not tearing her eyes from the thunder brother before her. She didn’t trust him to not try anything the moment she looked away. “They have code names?”
“Well, all our youkai do. Depending on what type they are, or their abilities depends on the name.”
Kagome looked over at Myoga shocked. “There’s more?”
He just shrugged. “Higurashi-san, there are more things out there then youkai. Things that wish to do man kind harm. Sometimes those things can only be killed by other youkai. Though the thunder brother’s don’t normally go out much. Only if its an air battle.”
She gave a small nod. “I see. So does that mean the man in the papers, the ‘silver haired man’ is here too?”
Hiten snorted. “That ignorant bastard.”
“Watch what you say Hiten. One of these days, I will not stand for such insults.”
Kagome instantly swung around. She didn’t sense anyone standing behind her! An yet there he was, his sunset eyes baring down on her own dark brown eyes. Her whole mind went blank at the very site before her. He stood to be at least six foot five with long silver hair that reached his mid back. He wore two magenta stripes on each cheek and a blue crescent moon on his forehead. She found it fitting counting his hair was as silver as the moonlight itself.
“Myoga,” he said, his voice deep, but emotionless. “Your new girl knows no manors.”
Myoga chuckled once more. “Higurashi-san, this is Sesshomaru -sama. Sesshomaru-sama, this is Kagome Higurashi. If she accepts the job, she will become your new partner.”
Sesshomaru instantly turned his cold golden eyes over to the shorter man. “This Sesshomaru needs no partner. I told you this the last time one of them died for their weakness.”
“Yes, but this one is a highly trained miko.”
“A miko?” Both the thunder brother’s said. “At least She’s not my partner.” Hiten snickered.
Sesshomaru turned his gaze back over at the still speechless girl. “I see. Regardless, this Sesshomaru needs no partner. Give her to that pathetic half breed. Or better yet, the wolf. He’s been without one for a while.”
Myoga shook his head. “Inuyasha already has Kikyou. As for Koga, he’s on probation for a while. You on the other hand have been spotted a couple times and we cant allow that anymore. And I believe that Higurashi-san here can keep up with you well enough.”
“Hn.” He answered. “Kagome was it? If you wish to live longer, I suggest that you do not take the job. The missions that are given here can and will kill you. Miko or not, you are human.”
Kagome instantly broke out of her small trance and glared daggers at the youkai. “And what makes you believe that I cant do the job? For all you know, I’m stronger then I look Sesshomaru!”
“Sama.” He replied to her.
Kagome blinked for a moment. “Excuse me?”
“You will address me as Sesshomaru-sama. We are not on such equal ground that you have the privilege of calling me by just my name.”
The girl just stared at him in shock. “Are you that full of yourself that you want to be referred at Sesshomaru-/sama/?!” She practically yelled.
Hiten cringed at the sound of her voice. His hearing was sensitive, but not as sensitive as Sesshomaru’s was. “Once more, I’m so glad my partner happens to be my brother.” He looked over at Myoga. “Have fun with that one. She’s a real spit fire.” He pushed his brother back into the room and shut the door behind them, all the while snickering.
Sesshomaru’s eyes narrowed at the girl before him. “Myoga, on second thought, I believe I’ll allow her to be partnered up with me. It seemed she has a thing or two to learn about youkai. Taiyoukai’s in particular. Miko, I shall see you tomorrow.” He turned and walked off.
Kagome was gripping her fist so hard her palms were almost bleeding. “Who the hell does he think he is?” Kagome snapped.
Myoga sighed. “Sesshomaru-sama was once the Taiyoukai of the west. That is why we speak of him as Sesshomaru-sama and not just Sesshomaru.”
The girl sighed and ran her hand though her raven hair. “Why did his partners always die?”
“Because the missions we send him on are very dangerous indeed. His partners tend to believe that he will save him. Unfortunately Sesshomaru-sama cares not for the life of others. Survival of the fittest he always used to say.”
Kagome looked over at the older man. “What’s his code name then? Because I’m pretty sure its not moon boy.” She chuckled at her own poor joke.
Myoga chuckled as well. “His code name is The Killing Perfection.”
Instantly her face became grim. “Why’s that?”
“Because whatever he fights, it doesn’t live for very long.” Was his only answer.
