The Worst Choice Ever.

A/N: So... hi there. I'm new, but lots of you have read my sister's stuff... Para's a cool writer, but she's wanted me to get onto this site for awhile now. I have this one idea... that i'm about to put up on here. So... here goes nothing!

Btw, this is based after my sister's stories "I'm Still Breathing" and "A Hole in the World" take place, and I totally have her permission to write this and use those ideas. I just hate that she killed off Kagome; I outright called her a bitch when she did, which I thought was funny. [Not to self - and readers - do NOT call Para a bitch when she's pregnant. She will hang up on you and not pick back up for a whole week].

Chapter One: Wasn't It Hard for You to Return?

Erin stared at him as he stood there on the other side of the dark green counter. He was looking back and forth between the two glass gun cases that stood, locked, behind her; his amber orbs were full of wonder at the strange devices. Erin looked around, noting the strange looks the hanyou was earning, standing here in the middle of an American Walmart in his red haori and hakama, barefoot, leaving his silver hair to fall perfectly down his back.

The young girl coughed softly to get the stranger's attention. "May I help you?" she asked quietly, taking a step forward. The keys hooked to her belt jingled slightly with her small step, and her boxcutter let out a loud, distinctive 'click!'

Inuyasha Taisho, who Erin had only ever seen on Adult Swim at three in the morning, looked her directly in the eyes, gold meeting brown. Butterflies filled Erin's chest, and she thought she might melt right then and there on the dirty concrete.

"Are you Erin Night?" he asked her in a very direct tone.

She blinked a few times at him, then looked down at the nametag hanging on a black and red lanyard around her neck. It was blue, white, and red, and it said in big, blue block letters "Erin" across it. Slowly, she nodded to the hanyou. "Yes, I am."

He hesitated; why, Erin could not know.

"You're Harmony Sunsinger's little sister, am I right?"

His question caught Erin more than a little off-guard. "Yes, I am," she replied. "But her real name's Para."

Inuyasha tilted his head to the left a little, making Erin giggle at his confused expression. "Why doesn't she use her real name?" he asked.

She shook her head. "It's a long story..."

The two were silent for a moment.

"So, why are you here?" Erin wanted to know. "I mean, why are you at my work, looking for me?"

He watched her intensely; she shivered underneath that stare. "You're a writer." It was a statement, not a question, Erin knew, and she only nodded in return. "You can bring my Kagome back to me."

Erin almost choked at his words; she gawked at him, open-mouthed, as if he were insane. "What the hell-?"

In a red flash, he was beside her behind the counter, hugging her waist and practically pleading, "Please, Erin. Help me bring Kagome back."

She blinked. "But... how...?"

"I hear that there's a place where authors keep the characters after they've finished a story with them... Please, Erin. Take me to this place. Take me to Kagome."

Erin's heart skipped a beat. "I don't know about that, Inuyasha..."

But his puppy dog look was overpowering her. He whined a little, completely unconscious of how uncomfortable he was making the child in his grasp. "Please?"

She sighed, closing her eyes and releasing her head back. "Okay," she whispered. "Just... please don't get too excited. I really don't know how much I can do for you, Inuyasha. I might... I might not be able to give her back to you."

His ears perked a little at her promise. "But you'll try, right?"

Erin inwardly groaned, squeezing her eyes shut. 'I'm going to regret this, I know it,' she thought. "I'll try my hardest," she answered.

She really had no idea how much she really would regret this later...
