Chapter 1


There must still be the soul that you have left
behind hidden somewhere, in the deep deep of the forest,
lying among the trees.

People who are too tired, the just don't look around, any farther.
They disappear into, the eternal darkness of a foreign place.

There she was .. sitting on top of her bag, scribbling down the last of the memories of her feudal life. She glanced at Inuyasha, tears clouding her vision. He was sleeping on his usual spot in the Goshinboku tree. A small smile formed when a snore sounded from him. It has been a long day, he deserved a rest.


She looked down at the piece of paper in her lap and continued writing..


Could we, still have seen if we were there?
Could we have seen it if it were, little?

Inuyasha,

I am sorry that you have to hear this through a letter. I don't think I would be able tell you this in person..


I promised myself that I would wait for you .. that I would stay by your side forever. I hoped that one day you'd see me, truly see me. But i'm tired, I really am.

Inu .. we've been through so much. I learned a lot from you. You taught me how to be independent .. how to fend for myself and I will be forever greatful. And I know that through all the tough exterior, and arrogant remarks.. there's a great man. A man true to his words, a man with a loving.. loyal heart. For that reason.. I will not force myself on you.


Go on with out lives and lose those things behind.
Wrapped around in lies, we stand there voiceless.
Want to live our lives, until we find a way.
Searching for the light.. for eternity.

Kagome bit her lip and covered her mouth from sobbing out loud as rivers of tears flowed down her face and onto the paper.

I will not hold you back. I understand you better than anyone, and I know what your heart wants. I know who your heart clenches for, who your heart truly aches for.

She ... she has said numerous times that I don't belong here.. that I don't belong with you. Maybe, just maybe, she could be right. Inuyasha, I'm not sure of the future but i'm willing to take a chance. I'm willing to give myself a chance, and give you a chance to pursuit your happiness. I am going to stop defying fate..


I survived three years off the fact that you say you needed me beside you. For three years, that was enough of a reason for me to stay. I never questioned why I was still there.. what you meant by needing me. Because I knew I would do anything for you.

Even now .. when I close my eyes, your face appears. I will always remember the faraway look in your eyes. I know what it feels like. I know how much it hurts to be so uncertain about your future. I know how much it hurts to long for someone who doesn't look at you the same way. Now that I am out of the picture, you can really focus on your goals, your plans for life.

Inuyasha... I can relate to her. Kikyo I mean. No matter what, she is still a woman. A woman wants nothing more than spending the rest of her life with the man she loves. One thing that I am sure of is that there isn't anyone in the world who would not grow to love you like I did. I believe that she can give you more happiness and love than I can ever give to you.


Things are passing and changing and
moving around but the colors of the sky, still remain the same.
As we used to know, every single day. We are running so free now,
ignoring the risk. The limits that we had. Leave our fears behind,
take another chance. Our souls will live again.

Kagome's eyes soon dried up, her strong will fighting back her tears.


Stay strong and live Inu. Just .. live.
It's my turn to take control of my future.


If we could catch the rhythm of time.
We could probably fly so high.


Kagome placed the the note at the bottom of the tree. She leaned against the Goshinboku and closed her eyes. The faces of her friends flashed through her mind for the last time. Inuyasha, Shippo, Sango, Miroku, Kouga, Kaede. Kagome turned around and started her path towards her destiny. Never once did she look back.


Go on with out lives and lose those things behind.

Only the echo of wooden beads bouncing off the forest floor was heard.

AN: Please read. I was in an angsty mood when I wrote this but I don't think it came out that sad. I'm not sure about you guys,,, but I was listening to sad Inuyasha songs alright?! I got inspired while watching The Inuyasha Movie: Affections Touching Across Time. If you have watched it, think back to the scene between Kikyo and Kagome before she fell into the well. How she was so willing go right back to fight along side with Inu and everything. It just made me think about how brave.. and loving Kagome is, being able to deal with all the Inuyasha/Kikyo moments. She's one hell of a girl. I'm hoping for feedbacks but expecting less since noone likes to review these days :(. No pointless flames please. And sorry for grammer mistakes! No beta . Just wordpad
