The Day You Left

I only asked for one more day,

All I needed was for you to stay.

You didn’t have to be so cold,

I knew that I was acting bold.

Silence was all that I heard,

Not even a single word.

That silence that still rings in my ears,

For me that silence rang for years.

I could have died, and would you care?

Would you even remember the time that we shared?

Not with you, your icy stare.

You looked at me, just standing there.

This silence is mocking me,

Slowly choking me.

I stand, I stare

All the while thinking if you care.

My thoughts overwhelm me,

I fall off my feet.

Will you be there to catch me?

In time I will see.


I lay on the ground, sobbing with deceit.

It seems my emotions, have taken over me.

I hear a small shuffle, of the ground beneath your feet,

And I come to my senesces, I jump up to see.

The sight ahead seems to startle me,

My eyes widen, and my heart skips a beat.

I see you coming towards me,

My heart is pounding, and my knees grow weak.

I am motionless, and it seems I cannot speak.

Have my senses all deceived me?

But closer still I see you walk,

I cannot breathe, i cannot talk.

Your arm extends infront of me,

Yet, now i am unable to see.

My mind slips from it's conscious state,

I hear your words, but it's too late.
