A Broken Heart Can Be Good...

"Now the Shikon jewel is complete I'm going to use it to bring Kikyo back. We're going to live together." Inuyasha was saying excitedly to Kagome. As he spoke her heart broke more and more, Sesshomaru could see it. He might pretend to be cold and cruel but that was only because he was the Lord of the Western Lands, it was expected. He didn't know how the halfbreed could do it, Love a corpse more than the beauty he could see from his hiding place in the trees. From Sesshomaru's point of view Kagome's blue eyes were amazing and she always smelt of vanilla which was a vast improvement on all the other humans he had run across, even Rin had needed tutoring on an appropriate level of cleanliness when he first saved her. He was meant to be on patrol of the area after helping her and the group to defeat Naraku but instead he was here, watching Kagome's heart break because his Baka brother had no taste in women!
As Kagome ran off in the direction of camp, Sesshomaru faded back to complete his patrol thinking of vanilla and the colour blue.
Inuyasha was left standing there yelling "WHAT???"

Kagome came running into camp, grabbed her well worn backpack and walked in to the forest, seemingly blind to the others in camp. Miroku and Sango just looked at each other while Shippo called out "Where are you going Kagome?"
She didn't turn back but called back "Just visiting home Shippo."
Shippo nodded and went back to playing, not realizing she hadn't mentioned when she would be back. Sesshomaru, who had been listening, however did notice this discrepancy. "Stupid Inuyasha" he thought "He is going to ruin my chances with Kagome. She's not going to come back."
*I WILL have her!* his beast growled at him.
*How can I stop her from going?* Sesshomaru asked the possessive beast.
*Tell her how you feel* his beast stated *or I will!*
He set off in the direction of the well, thinking all the while about how to tell her how much both he and his beast wanted her, Always!
As he landed next to the well she emerged out of the forest. She had been crying, he could smell it, but she hadn't noticed him yet. *Even if I tell her she won't want me, she loves Inuyasha, and she believes that I hate humans. I must find a way to show her this is not so.* He thought.
*Then show her.* His beast replied.
He walked over and slid his arms around her in a hug. She stiffened then realized who was holding her and seemed to collapse in his arms as she cried even harder. *This hugging gets easier as you do it more* He thought *Though she is different to hug than Rin.* He lowered his head to softly sniff her hair then started making soothing growling noises to try to comfort and calm her. She jumped away "Sorry, Sesshomaru-sama, I didn't mean to get your shoulder wet." She said worriedly, misunderstanding why he growled. He looked at her and said "My clothes are not an issue, you needed comforting. I simply provided that." She smiled slightly "Thanks" she said with slightly red cheeks.
As she smiled he felt his heart stop *She's amazing, even with tear stains she looks beautiful* he told his beast, his only reply being a smug *HMPH*
"Miko, I would like you to visit my palace sometime. It is quiet, Rin would appreciate seeing you and I think you would appreciate the fact that Inuyasha can not get there." He offered thinking to spend more time with her whilst she was there.
She thought about going home, her mother wasn't expecting her for another week and she would get a lot of questions about Inuyasha. "I'd love to visit, Sesshomaru-sama. Is now too soon?" She asked.
"I will take you myself" He stated. "I have business there to take care of." He held out his arm for her to hold as his travel cloud rapidly formed under their feet.

R&R please people. I'm not sure how soon I'll have the next chapter up for this but if people like how it’s going I'll do my best to have it out quickly. Also, for the people who read my Author profile you will know that my sister and I are both working as one person. I am Sarah (The older one), Amy is working on lemons for use in this or another story we are working on though not posting yet. Reviews make her work faster, Cookies do the same job...
