“Ahem, Inuyasha?” Miroku asked, eyeing his mate and beloved slightly wearily.
The hanyou was laying down after the exhaustion of the last day, holding numerous tiny bundles in his arms while Miroku's hands were full with one in each.
“Yes Miroku?” Inuyasha looked at him, wrenching his eyes away from the adorable scrunch on a face which was a perfect mix of their features.
“Did you know?” The monk shifted his arms slightly, his frown disappearing as he glanced down and was captured by a beatific face.
“What?” the hanyou asked absent-mindedly.
“That we were going to have so many babies?” Miroku gestured as his own arms with the two babies balanced on his lap and the three Inuyasha was holding.
“I assumed you knew, I'm half dog youkai after all...” the hanyou answered, distracted. To him there was no problem, each and every one of their pups was precious to him. Then a thought, a disturbing thought entered his mind and marred his happy face with an emerging frown. “Do you mind?” he asked quietly.
“Of course not!” Miroku denied vehemently. “They're all precious... because you gave them to me, us...”
Their eyes met and all was well.
