Roles Turned

Well this is the newest fan-fic I thought of. You'll just have to read to know... thoughts ---scene change--- and “*actions when someone is speaking*" … But warning very ooc for every one plus i will continue to edit this so do not complain of my writing skills

Well today is looking good.
Inuyasha sat in the god tree taking in everything before he would go off for a sprint

Things seem all right around here. It smells normal. Trees, moss, animals, tears, wait tears?
Taking in a deep breath he found they smelled familiar, dashing through a few trees he came too the source and jumped down. Only too have too flatten his ears at the scream that emitted from the small form, it began too run fearing its life was in danger

"SHIPPO?!"
Easily jumping he grabbed the fleeing kit

"LET ME GO!”
Shippo was in so much of a daze he did not know who had him; Inuyasha was almost retching from the fear coming off the kitsune child

"Whoa! Whoa! Easy Shippo, I am not going to hurt you."
Finally, Shippo stopped struggling and slowly looked up at him. Inuyasha let go if his tail and held Shippo in his arms. His instincts were telling him too comfort the kit

"What made you so upset?"
Instead of answering, he stated

"My arm hurts."
Then placed his head on Inuyasha's chest

"Which one, Shippo?"
Once he pointed too it, Inuyasha looked down too see a rather odd looking gash that was giving off a miko aura

"What happened? Who did this too you?"
Naturally, they were in an area that everyone knew Shippo. Therefore, they had no reason to harm him. Only three people he knew left that mark. Shippo was lucky he had not been purified

"We should really get that cleaned up."
Inuyasha spoke in a soft voice because he did not want too scare the slightly dosing kit; he started walking to where he knew there was water.
Walking for five minutes; Inuyasha finally came too a river.
He sat down on the bank, noticing when Shippo tensed up. Using a soft voice, he put the boy on his lap

"Hey I need you too wake up Shippo. I need your help too take off your shirt."
Eyes flittered open a bit, Shippo shakily stood between Inuyasha's legs. The first thing Inuyasha had too get off was the vest, which was hard with the injured arm. Then the blue shirt came off, Inuyasha had to hold in the gasp

"Shippo does any where else hurt?"
He took in the large bruises and scrapes on the kit's back, putting a clawed finger on a tiny shoulder that did not have a bruise

"My back and front hurt."
It took all his will power not too scream at the bruises and scrapes as well as a few big gashes covering the boy's front

"Shippo answer me when I ask. Who did this to you?"
He had a guess who, but he needed Shippo too say it. Tears came to the boy's eyes and Shippo dropped his head, Inuyasha lifted it back up

"Shippo?"

"....Kagome."

Must stay calm. Must stay calm. Must stay calm.
Taking a deep, deep breath Inuyasha asked gently

"Do you know why she would do this? Did she seem different?"
Tears welled up again as Shippo started too speak

"I don't know. When everyone left, she sealed me and started kicking and dragging me against the road. Then she... She stabbed me with her arrow... and just let me go."
He froze at the confession from the little kitsune. Tears almost, almost came from his eyes. He felt hurt and betrayed that Kagome had wanted too bring the kit along, as he had nobody. However, she ends up hurting him, he also felt somewhat fearful of what else she might do to Shippo or him

"Let's find a hot spring. It will make you feel better. And I can find some herbs for your cuts."
Gently picking Shippo up Inuyasha tried too hold only on the boy's legs so he would not touch the wounds or bruises.

"Hold on okay?"
Unknown to Inuyasha, were the second pair of golden eyes watching. Their scent disguised by being down wind of the hanyou

Peculiar, the miko did these wounds too the boy and Inuyasha is the one taking care of him?

After walking for about ten minutes Inuyasha found what he was looking for, a nice sized hot spring and put Shippo on the ground

"Ok we're here. Get those pants off and go into the water."
Shippo sat there loosely, looking at the ground with a far away stare. Sighing Inuyasha carefully used Shippo's hands and pulled him to his feet. As soon as Inuyasha let go of his hands Shippo fell down.
Gritting his teeth, Inuyasha grimaced when he laid Shippo's front on his lower arm. Holding onto him so he could pull his pants off, not liking when the boy made no sound at all. Worried Inuyasha put Shippo in the water until only his head was above the water

"Now don't you dare fall under the water while I'm gone, I’ll be right back."
Scouting the area, he looked at all the bushes. Spotting a particular bush, he walked to it. Still looking back too the hot springs every few steps. Then a familiar smell wafted in the air, he grabbed a chuck of the bush and raced back too Shippo. As quickly as the scent was there, it was gone.
Not wanting to be caught off guard, Inuyasha breathed deep for the scent and tried too sense the youkai. Nothing.
Cautiously taking off his haori and laid it on a rock behind Shippo. Lifting the kit's body out of the water, Inuyasha let him drip for a few seconds. Before placing him on his shirt, and wrapping it around the boy's lower body. Inuyasha looked into Shippo's eyes but the boy did not know what was going on around him.
After sighing for the hundredth time, Inuyasha grabbed the leaves and ground them into his hand. Then started putting it on the gashes and other scrapes, the smell was so powerful it was making him breathe through his mouth.
Shippo started squirming and he had a hard time trying too put the herbs on the boys back. Turning the boy around, got Shippo’s attention

“...Inuyasha?"

"Yeah?"

"What are you doing?"

“Your wounds need too be healed."

"I have injuries?"
That question stopped Inuyasha right before he got too Shippo's arm

"You mean you don't remember? *a headshake* well I found you by the god tree. You were beaten and in shock. And your arm’s been stabbed with a holy arrow."

"What happened?"
By the time this was over Inuyasha was sure his hair would be gone from stress, looking him in the eyes he spoke as evenly as he could

"You told me… that Kagome did it."
A gasp was the only response as big green eyes dotted side to side. Everything came back to Shippo and he started too hyperventilate

"Easy. Shippo. Calm down. You must calm down."

"WHY SHOULD I?! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW?!! THE ONE I THOUGHT TO BE MY MOTHER BEAT ME FOR NO REASON!! I HAVE NO ONE!!!"
As Inuyasha un-flattened, his ears he lifted Shippo's head

"You have Kirara, Sango, heck even Miroku. And you still have me."
Shippo launched himself into his arms

"Whoa! Feeling better already?"
He held onto Shippo until the boy stop crying

"We should get back, don't want too make her suspicious."
Stiffening shortly Shippo nodded

"Don't worry. I will not let her hurt you. And see that she can not when I am not around."
Nodding, Shippo whispered

"I don't think I can walk."

"*chuckle* it is ok, I'll carry you."

"Why are you being so nice?"

"Ha that's a good question. I guess I just want to."
Somewhat comforted by that Shippo relaxed as Inuyasha put his pants back on, and covered him with the non-wet part of his red robe. Inuyasha tucked the robe around Shippo supporting him like a baby, and then Inuyasha took off running. Shippo was so relaxed that his wounds were not hurting and he fall asleep. Holding onto Inuyasha like a baby would a mother.

When Inuyasha arrived back at the village, he subconsciously held onto Shippo tighter. Slightly waking him, Kagome and Miroku came out to see them

"Inuyasha?! We were looking everywhere for him! And you had him the whole time?!"
Both of them tensed against each other, Miroku put a hand on Kagome's shoulder

"Kagome give him a chance too explain, maybe he found Shippo with out knowing we were looking for him."
They were thoroughly shocked when Kagome violently slapped his hand away, causing some cuts on his hand

"Yes I found him, and he wasn't feeling good. So I brought him to, a hot spring too help him. Get better."
He stuttered afraid that the girl might utter that vicious word, while he was still holding the kit. Thankfully Kagome just huffed stomped her foot and stormed off, leaving two very tense but relieved demons and one totally confused monk

"Inuyasha what just happened?"

"Not in the open where ears can listen, Kiaede’s hut."
They set out to the hut and met a perplexed old eye

"What is it ye three? Where is Kagome? *looks to Shippo* What has happened too the kit?"

"I'll explain in a minute, for now just keep guard outside Kiaede."

This is odd. He has not called me old hag as he does. What has brought this change?
She stood leaning against her door while the men settled in her hut.
Once seated Miroku noticed that Inuyasha still had yet too put Shippo down, and the boy was holding him like a lifeline

"Inuyasha what is going on? Why did Kagome hit me? And what is wrong with Shippo?"

"*sigh* One thing at a time Miroku. I found Shippo close by the god tree he was in such a state he did not recognize me. I did not get anything out of him but his arm hurt, then he collapsed. He was lucky he wasn't purified at the miko aura coming from the gash."
Suddenly Shippo started whimpering; almost crying and Inuyasha started stroking the kit's ear and it settled him, surprising Miroku

"I brought him to a lake too clean. I took his shirt off, seeing his front and back was bruised and cut. I got him too focus long enough for him too tell me who did it. It was Kagome, then I brought him too a hot spring too soak while I got some herbs for his cuts. He did not come out of his daze until I almost finished the wounds. Then we came back here."
Everybody was speechless; the only sounds of the room were the few sniffles coming from Shippo

"That is horrible, poor Shippo."

Sango arrived at the hut too see Kiaede blocking the door

"Good day lady Kiaede, where is everyone?"
The suddenly serious face she gave her, made Sango's heart stop. Kiaede moved out of the way too let Sango in

"What is with the secret meeting?"
Instead of answering Inuyasha just stated

"I should get Shippo out of these wet clothes."
Knowing that the boy had fallen back asleep during the ear caressing, he asked

"Sango, can you pass the blanket that's beside you?"
When she did, he thanked her. Folding the blanket until it was in squares, Inuyasha gently pulled his shirt away from Shippo. Said boy started too squirm once cold air hit him, thankfully not noticing the two gasps in the room

"Shh sleep."
Placing the kit on the blanket Inuyasha checked too see how wet the boy's pants were. Finding they were extremely wet, he whispered

"Can you all turn around or close your eyes."
Once he made sure they weren't looking he began too peel the boy's pants away, making the boy whimper

"Shh. You are okay. I have to take these wet pants off; I don't want you getting sick."
This time Sango was amazed, how Shippo responded too him. Inuyasha noticed Miroku watching

"I said not too look!"
The hanyou hissed warningly. Miroku was too fearful too say anything for a moment

"Inuyasha it is nothing I have not seen before, minus the beat look."

"I don't care! I said no looking; now listen or get out."
Miroku quickly shut his eyes. Finally, he got the pants off and proceeded to wrap Shippo up like a new born

"Ok you can open your eyes now. Can someone put the clothes some where too dry please?"
Slowly the monk opened his eyes and saw the hanyou relaxing against the wall with a wool bundle. Sango move from her spot and picked Shippo’s clothes up putting them by the fire. She sat, as close too the two. As she felt was safe and looked Inuyasha in the eyes

"Kagome did this to him didn’t she?"
An exasperated sigh came from Inuyasha, before he turned away and answered

"Yes."
Tears fell from her eyes as she whispered

"It is my fault, I shouldn't have left him."

"You didn't know she was going too go loopy like that Sango. None of us did."
Something clicked in her mind

"Inuyasha she doesn't have any power over him, yet she did it easily. But she has power over you, what if she attacks you as well."
Inuyasha looked her square in the eye and she saw, he was just as worried about it

"Will you all promise me, to look after him when I'm not here? Make sure he's not left alone with her."
a unison reply

"Yes."

"Thank you, all of you."
Again, everyone was unaware of the extra golden eyes listening. Having their own ideas as too why, the hanyou was acting the way he was

I am going too stay close by, should this miko become a problem.


-------a week later-------

"See you in a bit Shippo!"
Inuyasha yelled as he waved goodbye. Shippo had healed well physically but not emotionally, he tended too stay away from Kagome. If someone raised their voice, he would run down Inuyasha's haori and stay there for a long time. Purring when Inuyasha would rub the ear that showed when he poked out

"Bye Inuyasha see you soon!"

"Well Shippo, should we go see what the others are doing?"
Kagome had left for her own time earlier that day and they were relieved, smiling he looked up at Sango and nodded. They walked away unsuspecting what was too come.
They met up with the monk first and were not surprised too see him with a woman, only to be slapped across the face. Shippo snickered slightly making Sango smile and giggled at him

"Will he ever change Shippo?"
He looked up in shock at her

"But Sango, I thought you hated him doing that?"

"*giggle* No I do but I also like the excuse too hit him."
An `O' formed on Shippo's little face

"Race you."
A wide smile formed and the young kit took off with Sango not far behind him, both of them laughing hard. Miroku watch them with bright eyes before he jogged after them. When he caught up too them and he was out of breath. Both made eye contact, before Sango and Shippo started laughing. So hard, they fell to the ground. Miroku looked at them as if they were crazy, which only made them laugh harder

"With all the flirting and running away after I would think you would be able too jog longer."
Giggled the "child" of the group, they once again laughed at the face Miroku made. Suddenly the kitsune stiffened up and they asked but knew why

"Shippo what's wrong?"

"She's nearby."
He quietly replies. Sango looked around

"Now where did Kirara go off too? Kirara?! Come here girl!"
Within a second Kirara was there in her little form

"Oh! There you are. Shippo is being a grump today; can you go play with him? So he's not so fussy."
The two-tailed cat mewed at her and nudged at Shippo but after a few steps, the kit just kept shaking.
That is when she made her move.
Rushing out of the bush Kagome grabbed Shippo by the tail and ran, ignoring the screams kitsune and group.
She knew that Kirara had changed forms as the growl got deadlier, quickly taking one of her arrows out. Slashing when the giant cat tried taking Shippo back

"What are you doing Kagome?! You are scaring Shippo! Put him down!!"
All she did was laugh insanely; making their hearts stop and Shippo cry louder. She ran into a cave with them fallowing behind her. A barrier viciously bounced all of them back

"KAGOME LET HIM GO!!!"
Miroku screamed

"HE'S JUST A CHILD KAGOME!!! HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TOO DESERVE THIS!!!"
Sango pleaded as she helped Miroku try to break the barrier, they heard Shippo scream and froze trying to look in. Another scream followed; which made them try harder too break it. Another five screams met their ears

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!! THE KAGOME I KNOW WOULDN'T HURT A CHILD!!! INUYASHA WILL HURT YOU!!!"
Three more, agonized screams came. Then Kagome came into the light; holding an arrow at the boy's throat

"Inuyasha can't do anything too me. He is mine."
She slashed down Shippo’s chest bringing fourth a bloodcurdling scream, making the ones outside extremely pissed

"DAMN IT!! LET HIM GO!! I'M GOING TOO HURT YOU MYSELF!!"
Screamed Sango as she kicked at the barrier, not noticing that Kirara had gone missing until

"KAGOME!! GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF SHIPPO!!!"
Inuyasha ran at the barrier and started punching it

"I'LL GET YOU WENCH!!"
A wicked smile was all he got before

"Sit boy!!"
Except this time he actually wanted her too say that, because as he went down the barrier broke. The two humans’ wrestled with her and she lost her grip on the kit. Shippo rolled on the ground not far from Inuyasha but he was too shaken too move

"SIT! SIT! SIT BOY!!!"
A fist connected at the back of Kagome’s neck and she fell to the ground unconscious. When Inuyasha was finally able too get up he saw Sango holding Kagome by her hair, it looked like her scalp would come off. Miroku gritted his teeth and spoke with suppressed rage

"Run Inuyasha, we'll dispose of her."
It was all he needed to hear. Inuyasha grabbed Shippo, who panicked when he was touched

"Your safe now Shippo."
When he heard Inuyasha's voice, Shippo felt around him. Then scuttled into the haori and clutched onto Inuyasha for dear life. Quickly running away not caring where he was going, but Shippo had fallen asleep after Inuyasha got ten yards away.

It felt like he had been running for eternity. He suddenly felt his brother presence very close too them. The kit began too cry knowing the danger they would have to face. Inuyasha pushed his body to go faster and started zigzagging through the trees, growling

Shit! This is no time too fight!
Holding the kitsune closer, he could feel the boy’s blood seeping into his clothing. He knew it would draw all kinds of demons to them. Eyes followed the red clothed hanyou. Knowing he was in protective mode

That is enough avoiding Inuyasha.
Inuyasha let out a startled yelp, when arms wrapped around him trapping his arms at his side. Growling he struggled against the hold, trying to bite at the face. Not knowing what his face looked like

He is in such an overprotective state, his youkai blood awakened and he has yet too notice.
Sesshomaru, was pulled from his musing by the distraught kitsune

"LEAVE US ALONE!!! GO AWAY!!! DON'T HURT HIM!!! HE'S ALL I HAVE!!! GO AWAY!!!"
The yelling made Inuyasha fined his voice

"I’LL NEVER LET YOU HURT HIM!! LET GO!! DON’T TOUCH HIM!! I’LL KILL YOU!! LET GO DAMN IT!!"

They are really a mess.

"Calm yourself Inuyasha. I am not here to hurt you or the kit."
He stopped struggling but he was still tense and Shippo was still upset. However Sesshomaru had yet too release his arms, so he tried too use his voice

"Just sleep Shippo... let me go."

"You will not run?"

"No…"
Sesshomaru slowly slipped away from his half brother and waited for Inuyasha too face him. When he did he was rubbing the kit's ear and it caused the kitsune to fall asleep

"Make this quick. Cause I need to clean his wounds."
Chuckling, that was his brother abrupt and impatient

"Then clean him at my camp."
Wide eyes stared at Sesshomaru not believing what he had heard

"Are you coming?"
