Summery: The battle with Naraku has come to an end and so does Kagome’s adventures in the feudal era. Little does she know that gods had planned more for her.

Chapter One
My New Life
I had thought that the battle for the Shikon would be the highlight of my short moral life, but I was wrong.
I had thought that I had no greater purpose then to protect the cursed Jewel, but I was wrong.
I was thought to be weak, but they were wrong.
My Name is Kagome Higurashi and I was once called the Shikon Miko. Now I am called The Guardian. My story started the moment the completed Shikon was within my grasp.
The battle raged around the group of shard hunters as they mercilessly cut down the youkai army that was made up of Naraku’s forces. Kagome branded her sword with grace and ease having learned over the years how to protect herself since her powers were sealed. She did not know at the time but she was fated to have her powers taken from her, it was a test from the gods to measure her worth. Powers that be were not disappointed when she learned how to protect herself without the use of her miko ki and was rewarded when the seal broke in a moment of desperation.
Kagome was fighting a short distance from Inuyasha when she noticed his attention was not on the youkai coming from behind. “INUYASHA BEHIND YOU!” Kagome yelled as she ran towards her best friend.
Inuyasha however could do nothing as he was defending himself from several attacks in front of him with his rusted sword. Tonight was his human night and they were engaged in battle during his weak night.
Kagome ran as fast as she could towards her friend knowing that while he was in his human form he was vulnerable. Her heart pounded in her chest as her blood raced through her veins in an attempt to aid her with an adrenaline rush. Her body would not move fast enough but still she pushed her muscles to move with sheer desperation. As she neared her body filled with the power she had sorely missed and the blade she was holding came to life. Pink light wrapped around her hand and traveled down her sword and she pointed it at the youkai about to deliver a blow to Inuyasha, and with a battle scream her miko ki shot off of her sword like a needle hitting the youkai in the side purifying it into dust.
The effect was immediate as the demons circling Inuyasha then turned to her and charged. Kagome spun on her feet still fueling her sword with her miko ki creating a whip like circle around her killing every youkai that came at her.
The army was down to few and Kagome was tired from using so much ki. Her shoulders slumped and her breath came out in pants but her eyes immediately sought out the ban of her existence…Naraku.
Whispering could be heard within her head as her eyes met the evil reds of Naraku. ‘Time to end this’ it whispered and she agreed wholeheartedly. ‘Call for us and we shall come.’ The voice whispered to her. She did not understand what the voice was and was confused as to whom exact the ‘we’ were. ‘Aramitama (Courage), Nigimitama (Friendship), Kushimitama (Wisdom) and Sakimitama (Love). Wrap yourself in your miko ki and call upon us and we shall come.’ The voice whispered to her and she understood.
Kagome stood tall still looking at the face of the evil hanyou as she called upon her powers to wrap them around her tightly. Her hands moved to a prayer like pose “Aramitama, Nigimitama, Kushimitama, Sakimitama, RETURN!” She screamed moving her hands in front of her as if to embrace it once it comes.
“NOOOOOOO!” Screamed the outraged voice of Naraku as he felt the power of the jewel drain. The tainted energy of the Shikon rose out of his body at shot towards the miko.
“KAGOME!” “KAGOME-SAMA” “KAGOMEEEEE!” “KAGOME” the sounds of her friends screaming her name did not interfere with what she was doing as the energy shot off towards her. ‘I hope this was the right thing to do.’ She mused as she watched the energy surround her and become purified before sinking into her skin to join with her soul.
The glow that surrounded her was nearly blinding to those within the clearing. The only one that did not block his eyes was Naraku as he shot forth to kill her. As he neared her the light died down and she was gone. Releasing an outraged scream Naraku fled he knew he did not stand a chance against them all without the power of the jewel to aid him.

White, it was all she could see. There was no ground on which she stood so steadily, there was no walls in which she could see, no sky just endless white. ‘Am I dead?’ she asked herself and before she could do anything further a voice answered her question.
“No dear Kagome you are not dead.”
The voice startled her and she spun around fast only to see a woman that looked to be in her 20s. She had long dark brown hair and green eyes; she wore what looked to be ancient battle armor. It was what was on her forehead that told Kagome exactly who she was “Midoriko-sama?” Kagome whispered in question and the lady smiled.
“Yes you are correct; in life I was called Midoriko. But we are not here to discuss me, I am here to tell you of your fate your destiny.”
“My Destiny?” she was confused she thought protecting the jewel was her destiny.
“Protecting the jewel was not your destiny but your fate. You were fated to merge your soul with that of the jewel, with that of mine. You destiny is so much more.”
“I don’t understand. What does this mean for me?” she asked looking the woman in the eyes willing her to explain.
Midoriko smiled kindly “Your travels were just tests the fates had to give you in order to insure you are ready. Before written language there was a creed a word of god that told of a powerful power that will live and protect the lands. In each world a protector is selected then placed through a difficult task in which they are to learn how to survive in an unknown land. If the chosen passes the test they are assigned to a new world in which they are to protect. Kagome you had passed the test assigned to you and now it is time for you to be sent to your destiny.” Midoriko said while she approached Kagome and touched her forehead to transfer the mark of the chosen.
“But where will I be sent, to what time will I be sent?” Kagome asked needing some kind of information before she was thrust head first into her destiny.
“You shall enter this new world with nothing more then what training you have now. This world is not too different from your modern world, but be aware that there are dangers unlike any you have faced in the past.” The fading voice of Midoriko said as Kagome’s white world went dark.
