The Chase
The Chase
Kagome used to have a home, she used to have a family, and she used to be happy. When she was five. Now nearly 12 years later she was hiding behind the garbage can near the High School in the part of town she used to live in with her mother. But ever since the age of five she had tried to forget all of that in favor of her new action packed life that she loved. Here she was about to tag the cleanest school in town and she was loving it. This had to be the most exhilarating thing she had ever done.
Checking to make sure the coast was clear, Kagome ran up to the brick wall on the east side of the building. Creeping to the corner Kagome peeked around and headed along the backside of the school. Looking for an open window Kagome sees one a little ways farther down. Looking around again Kagome sprints to the window and hefts her bag into the room.
Kouga was worried that he wouldn’t get his project done in time and had asked the janitor to let him use the computer lab so he could finish. Making sure that no one knew about it the janitor told him he would leave the window in the lab open and he could use the computers that night. Kouga normally wouldn’t have done this but he really needed to keep his grades up so his mother wouldn’t have to worry about him. He knew she did and he had been sure to let her know that he would be out so he could finish his project and would be home by 11.
Staring at the computer screen he blinked his eyes a few times. *Man I have been here for hours, and still have got NOTHING done. It’s hopeless.* He let his head fall onto the edge of the desk. He jumped up and looked toward the window when he heard a dull thud. Seeing a backpack lying on the floor he walked toward the window to see who was outside.
Kouga jumped back as a girl around his age jumped into the room and started to stare him down.
Kagome had just gotten into the room and already she was busted. But at least she was busted by a hot guy. OOO Lala. Damn he was fine, no man alive should look like that. His blue black hair was curled naturally and a lock hung over his brow. He had wonderful clear blue eyes, and from what she could tell that when he grinned he would be down right sinful, her kind of man.
Kagome grinned at the boy and said, “And what’s your name?”
Kouga blushed and looked down at the floor. He couldn’t believe this girl had just spoken to him, No girl in their right mind spoke to him. He never answered back. He looked at the girl in front of him and couldn’t help but see that she was very pretty. She had nice light brown hair that flowed down to her waist and Chocolaty brown eyes. Then he looked away embarrassed at what he had just thought.
“Well are you going to tell me or what? Do I have to guess it ‘cause I tell you I ain’t good at guessing games.”
“Kouga.” He told her his name in a near whisper. He couldn’t believe that he had actually talked to her. ‘I think I’m gonna be sick.’
“Well finally, it’s good to know that you can talk. Well Kouga my name is Kagome. What are you doing here so late at night?”
‘Oh no, she wants me to talk again. Can I tell her?’
“Well, um…. You see, there is this project due tomorrow and well I needed the extra time to get it done. So here I am.”
“School work? Dude it’s a weekend. Shouldn’t you be out with your friends having fun. Not at school working. Well anyways where’s the lunch room in this joint huh?”
“Why? It isn’t open.”
“None of your business, I just want to know where it is. Is that a crime?”
“I guess not. I’ll show you the way.”
“NO! You don’t have to, just tell me. I can find my way.”
“Whatever listen you leave this room and turn to the left. When you get to the first turn on the right go that way. Follow that hall to the end and take a right. Shortly after that you will come to the lunch room on your left. I don’t know why you would want to go in there.”
“Don’t worry about me you should be working on that project. See ya soon.”
Kouga shook his head and watched her leave, ‘Now I know why I stay away from females. They are just too complicated.’
Kagome smirked this was gonna be easier than she thought she might even have time to go back and mess with that cutie. After all he was making this so much easier now that she didn’t have to search for it. Standing outside the lunch room she considers what she will do. Suddenly smiling she hitches her bag on her shoulder a little higher and walked purposefully into the room she was on a mission.
