Moe, Curly, and Larry, times two

Chapter 1:

The gang was traveling on a trail that in five hundred years time would be a high speed rail corridor heading from one large Japanese city to another. Three humans, two demons, and one half demon in all.

The first human is a male named Miroku. He, like his father and grandfather before him, is a monk, using the powers of spirits to battle evil and demons alike. His sworn enemy is the demon lord Naraku, a former half demon who was reborn under a spiritual mountian, and now seeks to complete the shikon jewel.

The second human is a female named Sango, a demonslayer, like many people were in her village. Like Miroku, her sworn enemy is Naraku, who exterminated her village and used her for his nefarious schemes. Sango has developed a relationship together and the two are in the past what in the present would be considered an engaged couple.

The third human is another female by the name of Kagome Higurashi, a girl from five hundred years in the future who was dragged through the well into the ancient past. It was because of her actions that the shikon jewel of four souls was split into a thousand pieces, which have been gathered up and nearly completed by her sworn enemy, Naraku. (getting familiar?). Kagome is also a powerful priestess.

The half demon is a male by the name of Inuyasha Taisho, half dog demon, half human. He has developed a relationship with Kagome, but is also bound by spirit to Kikyo, an undead priestess who still walks the earth among the living. Because of the pure demon blood flowing through him, Inuyasha has an inheritance sword, the Tetsuiga, which binds the demon blood within him and prevents it from consuming his body.

Finally, we come to the two demons, Kirara and Shippou. The former is a neko firecat and Sango's close companion, one of the survivors of the village slaughter of Sango's home. The latter is a fox demon whose parents were killed by the Thunder brothers, who were in turn slayed by Inuyasha. Kagome has in a sense adopted Shippou as her child, and Shippou himself has a close attachment to Kirara, and vice-versa.

So here they were, traveling down his road, when suddenly Inuyasha halts, sniffing the air around him.

He placed his hand on the hilt of Tetsuiga, signaling to the other members of the group that trouble may be ahead.

"What do you sense, Inuyasha?" asked Miroku, his eyes sweeping back and forth from the road to the forest.

"I smell demons, a lot of them, somewhere nearby." replied the hanyou, his eyes finally turning skyward.

The group watched as a horde of what most definitly was Naraku's minions came soaring down, not torwards them, but a village nearby.

"Hurry and save them Inuyasha!" yelled Kagome, pointing in the direction of the village.

"Right, I'm on it." replied Inuyasha, bounding off torwards the village, the others in hot pursuit.

* * * - Meanwhile, at the village in question - * * *

There was another group of strangers already at the village in question. This time the composition was a little different though. Four humans, and a half demon composed their group.

They had been sitting at the local inn, dining away most of the food the villagers had stored up, when the call came warning the villagers of approaching demons.

The leader of the group, fiery haired young woman, walked up to the village headman.

"Hey we'll take care of these demons, no problem at all." she said in a sweet and innocent voice.

"Can you, can you really?" asked the village headmen in a sign of suspicious hope.

"Yes, but it'll cost you if we do." replied the girl in a still innocent voice.

*Sigh* "What is your price?" asked the headman, his head held a little low now.

"Our tab at the inn, plus ten pieces of silver." demanded the girl in a buisness like tone now.

"I suppose we have no choice, other than getting eaten alive. Very well then." said the headman before walking off.

"That was pretty harsh of you Lina." said Gourry, a blond haired swordsman, taking up position next to his partner in crime.

"Well we need some type of money to pay for our food. Better than our previous plan of just sneaking out after we were finished eating." said Lina in a low whisper.

"That was very mean and uncouth of you, Miss Lina." added Amelia, a sweet young girl that was a mage in training.

"Oh lighten up would you Amelia, honestly sometimes your so annoying. You should be more like Zel." replied Lina, referring to Zelgoddes, the fourth member and half demon in their group.

"Oh Gourry, I'm frightened." spoke up the fifth member of their group, Sylfial, Gourry's girlfriend and personal cook, when they could gather raw materiels to cook with, that is.

"Don't worry Sylfial, everything will be okay." reassured Gourry.

"Quiet, here they come." said Lina.

Up ahead, the swarm of demons appeared out of the sky, heading sure enough straight torwards the village, intending to feast on the livestock and humans there within.

"I'll take care of this in one shot." boasted Lina. "FLARE ARROW!" she said as she let loose a yellow glowing arrow of energy at the demon horde. The arrow hit them dead on and exploded, and when the smoke cleared, several demons had been vaporized, although the rest kept coming.

"Huh...they aren't running away..." muttered Lina.

"These demons don't appear to have the will to live. They seem to be just mindless drones." said Zelgoddess, stepping forward for the first time and speaking up.

"In that case...time to bring out the big firepower!" said Lina, rolling up her sleeves.

"Okay, time for the...FIREBALL!" said the mage as she unleashed a roiling ball of energy at the demons. The ball hit head on and again exploded, this time vaporising the bulk of the demons. But two of them managed to slip under the fireball and came straight torwards Lina.

"Look out!" Gourry sent out a warning, but Lina and the others saw it too late.

Fortunatly for her, this was when Inuyasha made his apperance.

Bounding in from the treetops, he unsheathed Tetsuiga and sliced the demons in half, letting their bodies drop to the ground.

"Keh. You should be more careful nexttime, wench." said the hanyou outloud as he sheathed his sword.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!" shouted Lina at the top of her lungs, causing everyone to cover their ears.

"I think he called you a wench Lina." said Gourry, before he was knocked out by Lina.

"Totally...not...helping...here...Gourry." said Lina in a growling voice.

"By the way, my name is Inuyasha. Sorry I couldn't be here earlier to help you." said the half demon as he turned to look at the group.

Zelgoddess's eyebrows rose as he took in the appearance of their new guest.

"Say, your a half demon, are you not?" questioned Zel.

"Yeah, same as you apparently, so what?" backfired Inuyasha.

"Hmph. You have a good sense of eyesight among you. Or...perhaps since your part dog, it's a sense of smell?" asked Zel coyly.

"Doesn't make any difference to me, you reek of half demon." replied Inuyasha.

Zel's eyes flashed for a moment, before settling back into it's usual smug but neutral look.

"Inuyasha, did you make it in time?" asked Kagome, coming into the clearing, along with Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippou.

"Miss Lina, look at the whore." said Amelia, pointing torwards Kagome and the skimpy outfit she was wearing.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME/HER?" yelled both Kagome and Inuyasha at the same time.

Amelia visibly shrank back before proceeding to hide behind Gourry's back.

"They're scary." the little girl muttered while hiding.

* * * - Later that night - * * *

"I see..." said Lina, after she and the rest of their group finished hearing about the story of Inuyasha and their companions and their current mission.

"So, what about your group? What are you doing here?" asked Kagome in a polite voice.

"Well, we were hired by a bunch of local villages to slay a demon named Naraku, the same one you mentioned. That, and these demon hordes keep destroying the villages and stealing all of the food." Lina said this last word as if it were revered.

Currently Lina, Zelgoddess, Kagome, Inuyasha, and Miroku were sitting around the campfire, the rest of the two groups having gone to sleep.

"Hmm. I got it!" said Kagome, snapping her fingers in excitment.

"Let's travel together. A group of one is more powerful than a divided group of two." said Kagome, clapping her hands together.

"Kagome, are you crazy?" complained Inuyasha.

"C'mon, we aren't that bad." interjected Lina.

"We don't need anybody more than what we have. I'm strong as it is." muttered Inuyasha, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Maybe so Inuyasha, but remember you are still just one person. You can't be everywhere doing everything at once. Remember the band of seven, and the trouble we had with them?" pestered Kagome.

"I guess your right. Fine, it's your decision." said Inuyasha, before jumping up into the trees to catch twenty winks.

"So, what do you guys say, do we team up?" asked Kagome again.

"Sure why not, I just hope you have good foraging skills." kidded Lina.

"No kidding." Zel half muttered in a half light hearted tone.

He wasn't laughing when a still on fire log smacked him in the face.

"Anyways, I'm heading to bed, good night." said Lina, before walking to the tree line.

"Are you all right?" asked Kagome in a worried voice.

"Feh, he's fine wench, leave him alone." Inuyasha's voice drifted down from above.

"Hmph. Inuyasha...SIT BOY!!!" yelled Kagome, taking offense at being called a wench and told what to do.

A loud yell and crashing sounds were heard as Inuyasha came crashing down through the branches and into the forest floor.

All three of them were amazed that no one awoke to the ruckus.

"I'm going to retire as well." said Kagome, heading torwards her sleeping bag.

When she was gone, Inuyasha picked himself up, sitting before the fire.

"It seems we have more in common that you think." said Zel with a smile on his face.

"You got that right, that's something I suppose." replied Inuyasha, looking into the other's eyes before laying up against a tree.

Of Miroku, nothing was to be seen.

A/N: Just a fair warning to all, this story will be like 50% serious, 50% humorous, and a ton of hotness. I think I put in enough warnings, so enjoy!
