Ayame's Bad Day

Standard Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha or any of the shows characters. Ganji The Great, Tsubasa, and the mantis demon are my own creations however.

This is just a prologue. You may not recognize some of the characters in this first part. That is because I just made them up. Don't worry, they'll all be explained later in the story.

Pairing: Will end up Ayame/Inuyasha because I've never seen that pairing here except once and I find it interesting.

Ayame was having a bad day.

Scratch that. Ayame was having a terrible day.

A completely unfair, depressing, and fucked up day. The kind of day you wished would either end or you would just die: whichever brought the suffering to an end first.

The mantis demon raised its scythe-shaped pincers high, bringing them down with enough force to reduce the young wolf demoness to pieces had Ayame been standing in that spot. She dove to the side, rolling out of the path of flying rocks and dirt that exploded out in all directions from the sheer force of the mantis' attack.

"I'M GOING TO ENJOY DEVOURING YOUR INNARDS!" the beast rasped, charging in for another attack.

Ayame gave a very un lady like snarl, fists clenched so tightly her nails broke the skin and drew blood. Her emerald eyes, usually filled with such light and joy, now dark with unbridled rage.

"Away with ye vile insect!" A volley of arrows pelted the mantis demon who in turn spat a stream of miasma at Ayame's second problem, a demon hunter named Ganji. The man was quick to put on his poison-mask, raising his cloak in front of him like a shield. The acrid cloud of death cleared and Ganji stood proudly, smirking under his mask. "Ha! Ye foul poison is nay a match for....." He struck a ridiculous pose. "GANJI THE GREAT!!!" His cloak receded, revealing a handful of deadly bombs, their fuses lit. "Ye shall all fall to the greatest demon slayer to ever live, but I shall make short work of my first target!" He glared at Ayame.

"Fools!" the third villain vying for Ayame's head made himself known. Tsubasa, leader of the Black Wolf Tribe, sat perched on a thick tree branch. "Ayame is mine!" He unsheathed his katana. "Wench! You'll either be my woman or the next meal for my kin!"

"THISSS IS MY MEAL!!!" the mantis charged.

"SILENCE YOU HIDEOUS MONSTROSITY!!!" Ganji leapt from his perch, bombs flying.

"YOUR MINE WOMAN!!!" Tsubasa lunged from the tree with his sword raised high.

Ayame, her swords at the ready, grimaced. It seemed that she was about to have her wish fulfilled. One way or another this horrid day was about to end.

And yet all she could think about was how it began........
