Someone new for Inu
A/N: this was posted under another name a week ago. I have changed it and edited it. Please send reviews for more.
Sam groaned as she climbed up the well behind Kagome. She hadn’t been prepared when Kag had pulled her into the well with her. As she looked around at the top of the well she gaped.
“Uh Kag, where is the shrine?” she said as she stepped out.
“Long story sam,” said Kag as she wiped off her jeans.
“Well you better make it short,” she said angrily.
As Kagome was about to say something, a man with claws and dog ears jumped down. Sam gaped and fell on her butt as the guy growled at her.
“Stop it Inuyasha,” said Kagome smacking him on the head.
“Who is she?” he said rubbing it.
“That is my friend Sam,” said Kag helping her up.
“Why’d ya bring her here? I have enough trouble protecting you,” he grumbled.
“I thought she could help,” said Kag. “Sam is a trained miko.”
“Keh,” he said turning to glare at Sam.
“Sis, explain. Now,” said Sam as she smacked Inuyasha on the head. “And you watch yourself, or I will purify your ass.”
“You dragged me to the feudal era? Oh great,” said Sam later on. “And if this monk touches me one more time I will make him hurt.”
“Miroku!” growled Sango.
“Kagome, your friend’s scary,” whispered Shippou.
“Ya I know,” said Kag.
“I still don’t know why we need this wench with us,” grumbled Inuyasha, yelping when Sam touched a glowing hand to his arm. “What was that for?”
“I am not a wench, my name is Sam buster,” she said chuckling evilly. “But the dog has a point. Why am I here sis?”
“Well I have to sign up for college and I need someone to replace me for a few weeks,” said Kag nervously.
“Oh no, you are not thinking of me staying here with the dog are you?” said Sam pointing at Inuyasha. “I am not a babysitter.”
“Hey,” growled Inuyasha.
“I know that Sam. But he needs someone who can find the Shikon shards,” sighed Kag rubbing her forehead. “I guess I should have known you weren’t cut out for it.”
“What?” they both said together.
“You obviously cannot get along,” said Kag. “And I thought I could depend on both of you to help me out. I am so tired.”
“Uh oh,” said Sam.
“The guilt trip,” growled Inuyasha as Kag began to cry.
“Oh brother,” said Sam looking at him. “I am willing to work together if you are.”
“Anything to shut up the crying,” he said flattening his ears.
“Ok Kag enough. I will stay,” said Sam patting her sister’s back. “But if he starts it I won’t be held responsible for what I do.”
“Hey what do you mean if I start it? What about you bi…” he said. “Sit boy,” yelled Kag.
Sam blinked as his face was planted in the earth. After a few moment’s she burst out laughing and pointing.
“What the hell did you just do sis?” she laughed.
“A subduing necklace,” giggled Kag.
“Which won’t work for you wench,” he growled as he picked himself up. “Ow.”
“No but that does,” she said waving her finger again.
Sam stood silently as Kag said goodbye to everyone. Kag turned and handed Sam the backpack and hugged her.
“There is plenty of ramen for Inuyasha in there. And the first aid kit and other stuff,” said Kag.
“Don’t worry Kag. I will be fine. Just go get ready for college,” said Sam hugging her. “Just don’t forget about me. I am stuck without you remember?”
She sighed when Kag disappeared and than a scream followed by a slap was heard. She groaned and shook her head as she followed Inuyasha.
“What a nutty group,” she muttered.
She suddenly stopped and started looking around. She grabbed Inuyasha’s haori and jerked him to a stop.
“What now wench,” he growled when she hushed him. “What?”
“Demons,” she said pointing to the right.
“Damn, even Kag can’t sense demons,” he whispered. “Let’s find them.”
She took off after him, trying to keep up with his long strides. Now I know how Kag feels she thought. She was stopped short when she ran into his back.
“It’s a big one,” he said drawing his sword. “Don’t get in the way.”
She grumbled and watched as he was tossed back into the tree beside him. She shook her head and drew Kags arrows.
“He has shards in him moron,” she said before shooting some arrows.
She suddenly felt him grab her and move just as a bolt of poison shot out. He flipped her to his back and headed to the demon. Sango and Miroku arrived just as she and Inuyasha took it down.
“Looks like Kagome was right. You two work good together,” chuckled Miroku.
“Keh, I would have done it faster without her,” said Inuyasha.
“You are such an idiot,” said Sam. “I can at least admit when I need help.”
She turned and started to limp back to Kaede’s. He swore and against her protests picked her up and carried her back.
“You’re a weak human. You didn’t even notice your leg,” he said after putting her down.
She pulled up her pant leg and saw the mark left by the poison bolt. She cringed when he used his claw to tear the pant leg up to her knee.
“That was my favorite pair idiot,” she said.
“Keh,” he said as he cleaned the wound. “At least I don’t have to do this for Kagome.”
“That’s because you don’t let her fight very much,” said Shippou, sitting on Sam’s shoulder.
“Because she can’t defend herself,” he growled.
“Well, there I agree with you Inuyasha. Kag has never been the tough type,” chuckled Sam. “But than if she can live around your grouchy ass she must be tough.”
She saw a flash of something in his eyes before he turned and walked out. She cocked her head knowing she had said something wrong but didn’t know what. Boy he sure is sensitive she thought.
“Don’t mind Inuyasha. He’s always cranky,” said Shippou.
“Does Kag ever spend any time with him, just for fun?” she asked.
“Come to think of it no. They haven’t done anything together but fight and travel. She spends all her free time at home or with Sango,” he said.
“Hmm,” she said as she stood. “Shippou is there any festivals coming up nearby?”
“There’s one in a week in Cora. But it will take a week to get there,” he said.
“Well let’s go there. I need you to help me trick Inuyasha to go,” she said.
“I always like to play trick’s on him,” he chuckled.
