Life has their secrets

Night had engulfed the area surrounding the campsite Kagome and her friends had set up. The moon bestowing the land in all it's glory. Chocolate-like eyes shimmered with joy as they glanced down at a young fox - Shippo - which she adopted as her son. Lifting a hand, she gently stroked her son's bangs, brushing them away from his face as he slept. A smile graced the dark-haired beauty, thinking she had it all. Kagome looked behind her, noticing her friends, Sango and Miroku, sleeping next to each other. Kilala napping next to Sango's head. She noticed that Miroku's hand unconsciously slithered it's way to Sango's rear, receiving an unconscious slap from her.

Hearing a twig snap, her attention averted to the tree branch above her. Her smile had grown, seeing her beloved watch over the campsite. He noticed this, then looked down at her, returning the smile. His fangs were shown, golden eyes showing passion. With that smile, he jumped down, silver hair flowing behind, then hugged his soon-to-be-forever-mate.

Even if Kagome and Inuyasha were together, they never really went through the mate routine. Kagome was never claimed by Inuyasha - yet. Kagome, being the age of 19 now, still wasn't ready. Or at least, that's what she told him. This angered Inuyasha. Being the age he was, his hormones hit him hard at unexpected times. This time was one of them.

After their embrace, Kagome saw how Inuyasha was sniffing the air. He sensed something. "What's wrong, Inuyasha?" Kagome whispered, not wanting to alarm the others. Worry had started to fill her eyes. Inuyasha shook his head, placing a kiss onto the corner of Kagome's mouth. "Just a weak demon. You stay here, alright? I'll go deal with him before he gets here." She nodded, watching her lover leap deeper into the forest.

As she watched him, she froze, sensing a shard of the Shikon Jewel. The holder of the shard was someone she feared to think about. Her stomach churned at the thought, feeling as if she would throw up, for some odd reason.

Kikyo.

If Kikyo was around, Inuyasha was willing enough to stop what he was doing, then run after his past love. Just to make sure that Inuyasha didn't sense her, she ran towards the detected shard, fearing the worst.

It didn't take long until Kagome found herslelf peering through bushes and branches. She's here... Finding a suitable spot to peek through, her face had suddenly grown pale. Her creamy skin had suddenly transformed into something ghost-like.

What she saw was expected, but unexpected at the same time. Kagome had found Inuyasha embracing the dead priestess in his arms.

"Release me now, Inuyasha." Kikyo's soft, but harsh, voice demanded the half-breed before her. Inuyasha just continued to hug her, only hugging her closer and tighter than before. "Kikyo.." He muttered, placing his face in the nook of Kikyo's neck. She was cold, her skin, being made out of clay and not flesh, felt like porcelain. Her scent was of grave soil and something dead. Inuyasha didn't care. All that mattered was he was holding his true love in his arms. But he felt the small palms from her hands nudge at his chest, trying her best to push him away.

Inuyasha, engrossed in the embrace, couldn't tell that Kagome was near. This allowed Kagome to stay for as long as she wanted. In truth, she wanted to leave right then and there, but she felt glued to the spot. Her eyes wouldn't leave the scene before her. Like a deer in the headlights. Except worse. This scene had hurt her, just a bit. Although, she doesn't know what's waiting in store for her.

"Kikyo.. You don't understand.. All this time, being around Kagome only made me realize how much I need you - not her." This caused Kikyo to furrow her brows, a bit uncertain. "Aren't you two mates?" She spoke in a monotone voice, hearing a laugh emit from Inuyasha's throat. Feeling the vibrations in his chest as she laid her head against him. "You've got it all wrong. She loves me, but I don't love her at all. I love you. You mean everything to me.." Inuyasha finally let go of her, his gaze lost into her's. Kikyo stepped back, leaving a good amount of space between them, then turned away from him.

A few of her soul collectors had returned, releasing the souls they carried so it could enter Kikyo's soulless body. Once the souls entered her, the soul collectors left, leaving the half-breed and dead priestess alone. "Inuyasha.. If you truly care for me.." She turned, giving Inuyasha a venomous glare. "Kill my reincarnation. Kill her so I can come back to life once again. Also leave the group.. And we shall hunt for the rest of the Shikon Jewel shards together.. Defeat Naraku together. Together. As mates."

The request Kikyo had stated for Inuyasha had shocked him. Sure, he loved Kikyo and would do anything for her. His feelings were Kagome weren't that a boyfriend gave his girlfriend. Love. But rather as loyal friends. What should he do? He didn't want to kill Kagome. Just the thought made him sick. It hurt him. But since he was head-over-heels for Kikyo... Maybe.. The kill can wait. "Of course, Kikyo.. Anything for you." Inuyasha reassured. Kikyo faintly smiled, pleased that the half-breed was so loyal to her.

Kikyo had closed the gap between her and Inuyasha, wrapping her arms around his neck as she lifted herself up to kiss him fully on the lips. Inuyasha quickly responded, deepening the kiss as his hands roamed the priestess' body, now slipping her kimono off with grace.

Kagome didn't need to see the rest. She knew that soon enough, Inuyasha would take Kikyo. They would become mates. She felt her heart shatter into bits. Then the bits had melted into her system, leaving her cold. Now walking into the forest, not knowing, caring, where she was going, her mind had became shrouded with thoughts. The last time she thought so much was when she had that Geometry Test. All she could think about right now seemed to make her feel sick.

He lied to you.
He used you.
He loves her.
He never loved you.
He doesn't even like you.
There's nothing you can do about it now,
except...

Kagome's eyes suddenly flared. The rims of her eyes now outlined by a hint of crimson that circled her innocent, chocolate eyes. She knew what she had to do. Since Inuyasha was still 'with her' she thought she'd cheat on him. Even if it didn't matter. She'd have her revenge. She felt humiliated. Being used like a toy. Only a replacement for his favorite toy that he'd never replace unless lost.

Question was, how would she cheat on him? There was Kouga, but then there was Ayame. He had her. There's Sesshomaru.. Yes. Of course. The best revenge would be to cheat on him with his brother. Her lips had formed into a mischievious grin. Then wait. How will she seduce him? He was one of those cold-hearted, isolated full-bred demons that would never love unless if something major happened. Like he was under some strong spell. Well, even if she could seduce him. How could she get him to be hers? Sesshomaru detested all humans, except for Rin.

Lost in her thoughts, she hadn't realized that she was walking closer and closer into Naraku's domain. As she continued to walk, her pace had slowed down, her gaze darting about. This is odd.. This place is beautiful, with it's mysterious side, yet, there's something awfully familiar about this... Kagome continued to think, then took a halt in her tracks in realization. No.. Did I stray too far? Before she could turn around, a silver-colored baboon had appeared before her, then disappeared. Thinking it left, she turned around, finding the baboon in front of her once again.

Without wasting time, he disappeared, Kagome falling to the ground as her vision had started to grow hazy. With that, she blacked out onto the soft grass.

Sorry if this chapter is not all that good, I wrote this at 2:05 AM, so don't expect it to be perfect. ^^; Also sorry for the typos if there are any.. I'll proof read it some other time. The third sorry will be for (maybe) future OOC stuff. :| I'm writing the next chapter right now. I have so much to write down.. My mind won't stop thinking about it! I also bet that if I stopped at Kagome thinking to go with Sesshomaru, you would've thought I was writing a SessKag fic, neh? >.>; As the chapters go on, I'll try my 110% to make it better than the chapter before it. Even if it means to wait for the lemons in later chapters. -coughthirdchaptercough.- So, enjoy!
