Chapter 1 – His blood, Her regrets
They all stood there, the sound of crying was thunderous, and the only other sound was her heartbeat. It was beating so hard she thought her ribcage would break, but no one moved, all they could do was stare at the pool of dry blood that sat around his body. They all had their regrets, every one of them thinking that they could have stopped this if only they had been here.
Instead they were all sleeping peacefully unaware of what their friend was doing, she finally collapsed to her knees as she stared at his vacant expression, his golden eyes dull and lifeless.
Her heart screamed in her ears as her soul shattered and gave way to the truth, he was gone and he was never coming back. His usual pristine white hair was now covered in blood and had leaves, dirt and twigs in it. His two adorable doggy ears were slumped over, his perfect arms facing the skies as marks where he had cut the arteries where visible.
The morning that was to be a happy normal morning for the most part was gone, but she had done something so stupid but she didn’t know he would go this far. She couldn’t swallow as she thought of the cause of this, but her thoughts were cut short when she felt the rain.
“Even the heavens weep for you my friend” she heard the monk say as he began praying as the rain started.
Shippo was bawling in Kagome’s arms so hard that she could hardly hold his little body, the young miko was crying hysterically too. But Sango was on her knees, she couldn’t cry, she couldn’t speak, she couldn’t even move.
‘I-Inuyasha…I’m so sorry…why? Why did I react like that?’ Sango thought before finally crying, or at least she thought she was, she wasn’t sure if she was crying or if it was the rain.
Kagome was now lying on the dead hanyou’s body crying and screaming, the monk was trying to calm her down but to no avail. Shippo had snapped and was tugging on the hanyou’s limp arms “P-please wake up I-Inuyasha…I’m sorry, I’m really sorry…I didn’t mean to call you a baka!”
The scene was breaking everyone’s heart as the kitsune cried, “please…I’ll be good Inuyasha! Please don’t leave!”
Sango swallowed the lump in her throat and grabbed the kitsune “Shippo” she whispered hoarsely.
He wouldn’t let go “Inuyasha!” he screamed “please I was just kidding all those times I said I hated you…I love you big brother!” he cried.
Everyone started crying and Kagome helped Sango pull Shippo away “it’s not your fault” the young miko whispered.
Sango gripped her heart and kneeled over the hanyou “Inuyasha” she said putting a hand on his face.
No one said a word because they were too sad but still stared in shock as they watched the demon slayer place a gentle kiss on the hanyou’s lips. She then hugged his lifeless form “I’m sorry Inuyasha I do love you…”
Kagome and Miroku gasped but decided to question things later as they rushed the body to Kaede; the old miko began crying herself when she saw what had happened. Kaede was staring at his body when she stopped and touched the chest of the deceased hanyou.
“Oh kami…” she murmured.
[A/N - Sorry that this is so short but i'm trying to work on 5 stories at once (o.O) plus i'm looking for a new job...and a new car...but whatever i'll update when i can.]
