Kouga watched Kagome from across the school cafeteria as she chatted with her friends. He didn't understand why the girl turned him down whenever he asked her out. No she preferred the mutt Inuyasha. Of all the people and demons in the world why him. He wasn't even a full-blooded demon like Kouga and that's what pissed him off the most. Kouga was the the star quarterback of the football team, a straight-A student (hard to believe, huh?), and did he mention, full demon.

He could feel it deep in his soul that they were meant to be together. When he pictured his future he always saw Kagome smiling at him with love in her eyes surrounded by their cubs. He couldn't take looking at the love of his life anymore knowing she was in love with another. He got up and walked out into a courtyard. Kouga sat down on a bench and began softly singing a song he heard the other day. To him it seemed like the perfect song to go along with how he felt.
