~What’s Next?~
Chapter 1 – Forgetting
“Forget,” said the voice one last time before disappearing.
He looked around ‘forget what?’ he thought, as he turned and began walking towards the village. When he entered the village people greeted him as if hey knew him “Hi Inuyasha!” called the children happily.
‘Inuyasha?’ he thought ‘that’s not my name, my name is…’ he stopped walking and searched his mind frantically ‘I can’t remember my name!’
Kagome walked out of Kaede’s hut and saw Inuyasha looking around confused ‘he looks so normal when he’s not hiding his emotions’ she thought walking towards him.
Inuyasha saw a strangely dressed girl walking towards him smiling; he looked around to make sure that it was him that she was looking at. He checked her scent, as she got closer ‘this scent is familiar, she is very beautiful and not mated…my scent is on her, faintly…’ his thoughts were interrupted as she stopped in front of him.
“Hi Inuyasha whatcha doin’?” she asked playfully.
‘I.n.u.y.a.s.h.a!?’ he thought slowly ‘is that my name? Why don’t I know my own name?’
Kagome looked at all the emotions that he usually hid play across his face; he looked as if he was deep in thought before turning his attention back to her ‘I should just play along until figure things out’ he thought.
“Inuyasha are you alright?” asked Kagome.
“Umm yeah why?” he asked then thought ‘shit I don’t know her name, but my scent is on her so I must be courting her.’
“You just looked like you were deep in thought, that’s all” she replied.
“I’m fine, do you mind if we take a walk?” he asked seriously.
Kagome was surprised but agreed soon they were walking through the village towards the river and then Inuyasha grabbed her hand gently squeezing it now and then as they walked. Kagome blushed and was getting aroused from his touch; Inuyasha smelt the spike in the musky odor and knew that she liked him.
“You are very beautiful,” he said as they watched the sun set making the water sparkle.
Kagome was stunned ‘did he just say that!?’ she thought trying to recover herself, then turned to look in his eyes to make sure he was serious.
“May I kiss you?” he asked as their eyes met.
Kagome nearly fainted ‘Oh My! He wants to kiss me what should I do?’ she thought and when she tried to answer no words came out so she nodded yes.
Inuyasha slowly bent forward watching the setting sun dance across her features, he saw her eyes begin to close as he got closer and as their lips touched someone yelled out “ABOUT TIME!” and then there was a loud CRACK! A monk dressed in purple and black robes rolled out from the bushes with a knot on his head. The hanyou rushed to his side and helped him up “Are you alright?” he asked.
Miroku, Kagome and a Sango, who came out of hiding still holding a gigantic boomerang, looked at him as if he was crazy. After awhile of staring Inuyasha was getting nervous “What’s everyone looking at?” he asked.
“Inuyasha you are awfully nice today,” said Sango.
‘These people seem to know me and I am supposed to be mean I guess’ he thought ‘what do I do now?’ he thought until something came to mind.
“Feh!” he said turning his back and walking away.
“Now that’s more like it” came Miroku’s voice.
Once he was far enough out of their line of sight he listened with his highly sensitive ears.
“Miroku I understand spying on us, but Sango I thought you had more respect than that” came the girl’s voice that he had kissed.
‘The monk is Miroku and the other girl is Sango, she isn’t a bad choice for a mate either’ he thought ‘she is strong and not marked . . .’ his thoughts trailed off as he strained to hear he last part of the conversation as they began walking away.
“Gomen Kagome” said Sango and Miroku “but Inuyasha was acting . . .”
He couldn’t hear them any longer but remembered the girls name he was kissing “Kagome” he said to himself before getting up and following their scents.
~Back at Kaede’s Hut~
Shippo was bouncing around as Kaede made dinner; she looked up as the others walked in.
“Kaede that smells good, is that dinner?” asked Kagome.
“Hai child, have a seat it’s almost done,” answered the older woman.
Soon everyone was eating and then Kaede asked, “Where is Inuyasha?”
“He is mopping around because we interrupted his ‘Kagome Time’!” smiled Miroku.
Kaede decided to leave it there and finish dinner; everyone ate as they usually did with small talk here and there.
Once everyone was done, the girls left to bathe while Miroku couldn’t follow because Kirara and Shippo had fallen asleep on his lap to keep him there.
As Inuyasha neared Kaede’s hut he saw Kagome and Sango walk off talking about bathing so he followed. He watched as they neared a hot spring and began to undress, once they were in the water he decided to come out.
“Kagome” he said wrapping his hands around her and Sango’s mouths from behind, “please don’t scream.”
Kagome and Sango nodded, and Inu Yasha released them “may I join you?”
“I-Inuyasha!?” the girls sputtered.
“What?” he replied ‘maybe this is being to forward…but I’ll just have to see what happens.’
Before they could answer, he began to undress and slid into the water, he looked at the girls as they watched him and blushed. He looked at Sango whose eyes were traveling appreciatively over his body and Kagome blushed a deep crimson when she realized they were naked.
“So what’s going on you two?” he asked not realizing he was usually an ass to everyone and was really pushing his luck.
“Inuyasha don’t you think it is inappropriate to bathe with us?” asked Kagome trying not to sit him until she had some answers.
“Why?” he asked, “you are both very beautiful and I don’t mind if you look at me.”
The girls blushed at this and Inu Yasha smelt a spike in their arousal, he raised and eyebrow and they relaxed quietly for awhile although the girls kept fidgeting.
“So what are you two up to anyway?” he asked.
“Well we were talking about gathering more jewel shards,” said Kagome.
Sango finished with “we know how impatient you are when it comes to Naraku and the jewel.”
‘I am impatient about someone and a jewel?’ he thought ‘well they seem to need a break, besides I need to figure out who I am, and what happened to me.’
“Inuyasha?” questioned Kagome.
“Huh!? Oh sorry I was thinking, we should take some time off and relax” he said and the girls’ mouths dropped open “well I am starving I am going to go find something to eat.”
“Kaede has some dinner ready if you go to her hut” said the girls unable to fully comprehend that they were naked in the spring with him still.
“Ok” he replied standing up and both girls blushed as they saw his member hanging between his legs, he smirked and grabbed their hands and kissed the top of their hands.
He stepped out and dressed before following their scents to Kaede’s hut ‘this Kaede must be where they came out of before.’
“Kagome what just happened?” asked Sango her mind finally registering what had happened.
“I-I am not sure” she said shakily “he is acting weird, lets finish and head back, we’ll talk to him when we get back…it could be a curse or something” replied Kagome.
“Ok” said Sango as they finished bathing.
Inuyasha was already at Kaede’s and sat down as she handed him a bowl of food without him even asking, Kaede noticed a weird vibe coming off the hanyou but dismissed it. Miroku watched shocked as the still wet haired hanyou ate with actual manners “I-Inuyasha why is your hair wet? And why are you eating like that?” he asked.
“My hair is wet because I took a bath and…” he began but was cut off.
“You actually, willingly took a bath!?” asked Miroku.
Inuyasha realized that he was out of character so he stood up and left with a ‘Feh’ and walked outside to look at the moon ‘the monk smells kinda like Sango…is he courting her?’ he thought.
Sango and Kagome stopped as they saw a gorgeous white haired and bronzed skinned, red cloth-wearing god. His golden eyes tilted to the moon as his hair blew in the breeze, he looked so good the girls were practically drooling as he tilted his head to look at them.
“Hey how was your bath?” he asked in silky smooth voice and the girls began to melt but then regained composure and looked at him.
“Inuyasha what is going on with you?” asked the Kagome.
He knew he didn’t have the answers to that so he tried to play his character “nothing, I’ve just been bored” he replied annoyed.
Kagome’s eye twitched “you saw us naked because you were bored…you baka! SIT!”
He raised an eyebrow for a split second before feeling an unfamiliar tug at his neck. Kaede looked at Miroku as the monk spoke “I guess things are back to normal.”
