Worlds clash

InuYasha and the gang had just left Kaede’s village and were on their way north where they heard rumors that Naraku was there. InuYasha kept an eye out for anything that would harm them. They traveled for the whole day with nothing to show for it but the ground they covered. As they searched out for a place to rest for the night a young girl runs past them looking back at the trees from whence she came. Behind her a group of rough looking humans came after her.

The little girl screamed through pants. “SHIZUKA!!” InuYasha smelt the wind change. A demon was coming, a full demon. InuYasha put his hand up for the others to wait. Not one who would usually wait when there was a fight anticipated the group looks at him with wonder.

“InuYasha?”

“Something’s coming.” A full demon jumped down from the trees and in front of the girl.

“Shizuka!” the demon looked at the crowd of humans who were chasing the girl. She had long silver hair that went down to past her waist. The tips of it looked as if they had been dipped in black ink. Her ears were like InuYasha’s but the tips were black. Her elegant body was in a toga-like outfit and her golden eyes looked deadly calm. She pulled from behind her hair a white rose.

The humans’ laughed making comments about her rose. She smirked and the white rose turned into a long, thorny whip that cut across their bodies. The little girl hid behind the demon that protected her. That is when Kagome noticed it.

The young girl held several shards of the jewel in her outfit. As the bodies of the dead humans fell to the ground, Kagome told InuYasha what was going on.

“How many?”

“4” InuYasha went to put his hand on Tetsusaiga when he saw the demon put away the rose and sniff and check the girl for injuries. Finding a small scrape on the knee of the girl the demon began to lick the wound trying to clean and heal it. “Do you want some help with that wound?” the demon growled at them and looked the Kagome in the eye.

“Kagome be careful!” InuYasha got in front of Kagome to protect her. The little girl looked at them.

“Shizuka, I don’t think they want to hurt me.” The little girl looked at Kagome. “My name is Hotaru, this is Shizuka.” She looked proud of herself.

“I am Kagome, this is InuYasha, that is Sango, Miroku, and this is Kilala and Shippo.”

“Look Shizuka another fox demon!” Hotaru pointed at Shippo. Shizuka looked and sniffed trying to get the fox demon’s scent form the pack. She bowed her head respectively to the young fox pup and turned to leave with Hotaru in her arms.

“Wait,” Kagome ran up a little and Shizuka looked at her. “We need those jewel shards.”

“You mean these pretty pink shards?” she pulled out a necklace with the shard attached to some strings.

“Yes I do. We need them to complete the jewel.” Kagome went to reach for them but pulled back when she heard a low growl for Shizuka. InuYasha stepped closer to Kagome.

“You can’t have them.”

“Then we’ll fight ya for them.”

“InuYasha, please calm down.” But it was too late. Shizuka was already placing Hotaru in a tree so she would be safe. From behind her head came the white rose. Miroku and Sango pulled Kagome back from the field. She watched as he pulled out Tetsusaiga. Shizuka’s eyes went wide and she put away the rose.

“Why are you standing down?” Shizuka looked him in the eye then down at his sword. She touched her heart.

“Someone form your family was a dear friend of her. She won’t fight you in memory of that person.” Hotaru said from the tree she was in Shizuka jumped up and got her.

“Why doesn’t she speak for herself?” Asked Shippo.

“Shizuka never speaks.” Miroku walked over to Shizuka and took her hand in his.

“Would you bear my children?”

“MIROKU! YOU HENTAI!” She went to hit him but was stopped by what she saw. Shizuka leaned over and licked his cheek softly. She gave a soft smile and shook her head as Hotaru smiled.

“She is promised to someone. She is waiting for him to come back for her.”

“How do you know that if she has never spoken?” Asked Sango.

“She can write and draw. She told me her story.” Her eyes lit up. “I know! I’ll tell you the story! Is that ok Shizuka?” Shizuka nodded her head. She looked up at the sky and sniffed. Hotaru looked at her and with a twitch of Shizuka’s fingers she ran to her side. “It is going to rain. We must find shelter. But Shizuka we are too far from the nearest cave!”

“There is a village near by. There is room there for shelter.”

“We don’t trust villages. They try to hurt Shizuka.”

“These let Shippo and InuYasha stay cause they know they are good demons. If we talk to them they will let you and Shizuka stay as well.” They nodded and followed the group. Who had picked up the pace as a drop fell on InuYasha’s nose.

Yusuke stayed awake in his fiancée’s arms after she had fallen asleep. He smiled down at her sleeping form. He gingerly got out and placed a small, chaste kiss on her forehead. Upon the pillow where he was, he placed a letter that he had written when he first found out that he was leaving. The letter said how much he was sorry that he would not be there in the morning and that he would not be back from some time. He smiled softly again and then put on his stupid grin remembering that he needed to put on some clothes. After dressing he walked down the stairs to where his coworkers were.

“So when do we leave?” he asked yawning wishing he was back in her arms.

“As soon as the portal appears. So how did you plan on telling Keiko that we are leaving again?”

“I told her when we found out. Just left her a note so she doesn’t worry.”

“I give Keiko props for sticking with you. All these missions, it is a wonder that she hasn’t left your ass for someone with a job close to home.” Kuwabara said.

“Shut the hell up.” Just then the portal opened and they stepped though. When they arrived on the other end of the portal they were in the well house of the Hiragashi shrine. “Why are we still in the Nigin-kai?”

The com-powder began to beep and Kurama answered it. “You are here because the mission takes place in the past. You are to stop a very young child, named Hotaru, from dying. She is in the care of a young vixen but Kurama I suggest you stay as Shuichi until we know more about her.” Kurama nodded and so did the others. “Hiei I want you to go over to the god tree over there and take four twigs. They will allow you to pass into the well.” He grabbed them and every one took one. “In the bag I made Kurama bring there are outfits from the time period. Put them on now. Kurama help them.” Once every one got on their clothes, Koemna began speaking again. “Now be careful not to mention any thing from the future. There will be no communicating to me or anyone else via cell phones or television. There is no electricity or indoor plumbing. Do not mention this to anyone. Good bye and good luck.”

The three nodded and shut off the com-powder. Yusuke was the first to jump into the well and the rest followed close. Upon entering they realized they had to climb out. Kurama was first because he lowered the vines and climbed out and helped the others into the field that the rain was pouring down from.
