Confessions Of Love

Ok pplz be nice to me. This is my very first fanfic k? so yea I tried

Kagome slowly crawled out of the ancient well that had connected her world to Inuyasha’s, which was 500 years in the past. She climbed over the lip of the well and decided to sit and admire the view of the forest. Even though it was starting to get a little dark, she could see the deep green leaves of many trees that swayed from left to right as the wind blew them. Kagome looked down at the grass and felt as if she were in an ocean of green with little specks of white flowers. Everything in the forest moved according to the commands of the silent wind.

Kagome had been home for three days, and just as she promised, she came back to Inuyasha on the fourth day. She didn’t really have a reason to go home in the first place. She was on her summer vacation, but she had been feeling a bit depressed as of late. She couldn’t get her mind off of Inuyasha being in love with Kikyo. Kagome had nothing against Kikyo. She did not hate or think anything ill of her, but it just hurt her to think of Inuyasha and Kikyo being together. Even though Kikyo has already passed away before Inuyasha and everyone killed Naraku for good and collected the remaining jewel shards.

Inuyasha was now more depressed than ever and he even vowed to never fall in love with anyone ever again. He was the real reason that she had decided to spend her vacation in the feudal era. She wanted to stay and comfort Inuyasha, So that he wouldn’t keep being depressed about Kikyo. Kagome really wanted to let Inuyasha know how she felt for him, but with him being like this, she wouldn’t be able to. One thing kept bugging her about Inuyasha and the Jewel. When they got the Jewel, Inuyasha didn’t use it to transform himself into a full-fledged demon. Maybe the depression was holding him back from what he really wanted.

“What’cha doin Kagome?” Kagome blinked out of her thoughts and turned to face the one whom she was thinking about. “Nuthin Inuyasha, I just got here.” She said as she got off the well and started to walk towards Kaede’s hut. Inuyasha stared at Kagome as she walked away.

He loved her. He loved her with all his being, but he had not been able to let her know of it. He had always planned to let her know after they killed Naraku, but then Kikyo had died in the battle with Naraku and shortly afterwards he went into his state of depression. All he could think about was how he had failed Kikyo in every way possible.

Inuyasha slowly started to cope with the fact of Kikyo being gone, but then he started to sense a lot of sadness coming from Kagome. He didn’t know why she was sad, but he figured that it had to do with him. Kagome wanted to go back to her time for a couple of days and he had let her go without any argument. When she was at her home, he tried to make himself feel better so that when Kagome came back, she wouldn’t be sad anymore. But when he saw her sitting at the well, she was still sad and he couldn’t figure out why.

“Are you coming Inuyasha?” Inuyasha’s head snapped up to look at Kagome. “Uh…yea.” He went up to Kagome and walked by her side. They both entered Kaede’s hut and Kagome did her usual greetings and gave everyone a little something from her time. Then Kagome and Sango, who has become like a sister to Kagome, walked out of the hut to go and bathe in the hot springs to relax a little. Inuyasha watched as they walked out the door and noticed that Kagome wasn’t as sad as she was a little earlier. Inuyasha closed his eyes, leaned his head back against the wall and gave out a sigh.

“What’s on your mind Inuyasha?” Inuyasha lifted his head to look at Miroku. “Nuthin. Why ya askin huh?” Miroku eyed Inuyasha, knowing very well that Inuyasha was lying to him. (Damn monk knows me all to well)

“C’mon Inuyasha, I know you’re thinking of something,” He paused for a second, “or is it someone?”
“Now who the hell would I be thinking of huh Monk?”
“Oh I don’t know. Maybe a certain young woman traveling in our group, whose name just happens to be Kagome.”
“Fuck you.”
“C’mon Inuyasha, tell me, what’s up?”

Inuyasha let out another heavy sigh. Knowing that Miroku wasn’t going to let him off the hook that easily, he decided to go ahead and tell him what was on his mind.

“I love her.”
“Well no shit! Anyone with eyes can see that Inuyasha.”
“Everyone but her.”
“Well have you told her how you feel?”
“Do you think I would be here talking to you if I did tell her?!”
“Ok, ok, why don’t you wait for a moment when she’s all by herself and tell her how you feel about her. And don’t hold anything back. Tell her everything.”
“What if she doesn’t love me?”
“You’ll never know unless you tell her.”

Inuyasha sat in silence. He knew that what the Monk said was true, but was he really willing to do this and risk losing Kagome? Inuyasha got up from his seat and decided to take a walk.

“Ahhh. This feels great.” Kagome said as she relaxed in the steamy Hot Springs. “You can say that again.” Sango said as she began to relax as well. Kagome looked at Sango and started to cry. “

Kagome! What’s the matter?” Sango became extremely worried at her sisters sudden tears. “I love him Sango! But he doesn’t love me!”

“Now, now Kagome. He does love you. Don’t you see how jealous he get when Koga or any other man talks to you?”
“That’s only because I look like Kikyo.”
“No it isn’t. You haven’t seen the way he sulks every time you go back to your world.”
“Like I said Sango, it’s because I look so much like Kikyo.”
“Oh Kagome there is nothing that I can say to make you change your mind can I?”

Kagome sighed and didn’t answer. After a few minutes she spoke. “Sango?”
“Yes Kagome?”
“Well…um…”
“You want to be alone for awhile?”
“Please?”
“Of course Kagome. You need some time to get your thoughts together. I’ll be at the hut ok?”
“Thanks Sango. I’ll be in soon.”

Sango got out of the water, dressed herself, and began to walk back to the hut. As soon as Sango left, Kagome got out of the water and dressed herself as well. After she was dressed, she slowly walked to the edge of the water and took a seat to get her thoughts together.

Inuyasha had no idea where he was going, it was as if his legs had a mind of their own. After awhile Inuyasha stopped when he heard someone approaching. He looked up to see that it was Sango.

“Where’s Kagome?”
“She’s at the hot springs.”
“Oh.”
“You should really go talk to her.”
“What? Why?”
“She deserves to know how you feel about her, as do you.”

She didn’t wait for him to answer and just kept on walking to Kaede’s. Now Inuyasha was really confused, but he knew that the only way to get any answers was to do what Sango said and go talk to Kagome.

“Man what am I gonna do?” Kagome said as she sat on the cold earth. She desperately wanted to Inuyasha how much she loved him, but she was afraid. She was afraid of rejection. She was so confused. Kagome closed her eyes and sighed.

“Hey.” Kagome jumped at the sound of his voice and looked at him. She was expecting to see some annoyance expressed on his face, but it was no where to be found. She saw concern and…love? Wait love? Now Kagome was sure that he was going crazy. How could Inuyasha look at her in that kind of way?

“Why are you here all by yourself Kagome?”
“I was just thinking.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“Oh nothing really. Um…what are you doing here.”
“I was walking around and I saw Sango. She said that you were still here, so I decided to drop by and check on you.”
“Oh.”

They both fell into a kind of awkward silence. Neither of them knowing what to say to each other. Even though they were both on the same topic. Then he finally spoke.

“Kagome, I need to tell you something.”
“What is it Inuyasha?”
“Well do you remember after Kikyo died I vowed to never fall in love ever again?”
“Yea…”
“I lied.”

Kagome looked at Inuyasha with a questionable expression.

“What do you mean you lied?”
“I lied. I did fall in love wait no, I've been in love.”
“But with who?”
“You.”

Kagome’s eyes grew wide in shock. Did he say what she thought he said? (Inuyasha fell in love with me? ) Kagome had a feeling in her stomach that she never experienced before. She couldn’t explain it, but it was the most wonderful feeling in the world. Kagome looked at Inuyasha and saw that he was expecting some sort of reaction from her.

Kagome did the only thing that came to mind. She threw herself into Inuyasha’s arms and wrapped her own arms around his neck and began to cry. Inuyasha got surprised when Kagome hugged him. Inuyasha hugged her back and closed his eyes. He then heard her start to cry and got worried. (Did I hurt her? Is she crying because she doesn’t feel the same?)

“Why are you crying Kagome?”
“I love you too Inuyasha. I always have, but I didn’t think you did too. If I would have known, then I would have told you how I felt a long time ago.”

Inuyasha was so happy with what Kagome just told him. He never thought that Kagome would love him this much. But now they expressed their feelings to one another and now they can be together. Inuyasha stopped hugging Kagome and put his hand under her chin to lift her face so that he could look at her. He looked into her eyes and saw nothing but love. Love for him. He couldn’t believe it.

Not even when he was with Kikyo, had he ever been looked at with so much love. Inuyasha tilted his head down and pressed his lips against Kagome’s. Kagome was surprised when she felt Inuyasha’s lips on hers, but quickly kissed him back. After several minutes, Inuyasha pulled away and hugged Kagome tightly.

“I’m never gonna let you go Kagome. I love you to damn much to let anything happen to you. Will you stay with me Kagome?”

Kagome started to cry again. The words that were coming out of Inuyasha’s mouth were the most beautiful words she’s ever heard.

“Of course Inuyasha, I’ll never leave you. I’ll be with you always and forever.”

Inuyasha smiled, and unknown to Kagome, let one tear escape his eyes. “Always and forever.” He repeated as he looked up to the stars and thanked the Gods for sending him this beautiful angel.
