Title: Hate's Allure
Kagome put her best smile forward even if the sight before her was causing immense pain. It wasn’t in her nature to begrudge others their happiness. Hadn’t she learned in the past to let go? Yes, that was something that had been engraved into her heart and soul. This was just another one of those examples. She’d be happy for her friend then go on with her life. One day at a time was her new moto. She wouldn’t worry about the future or what it held. The present was where she belonged. The bride looked absolutely beautiful in her long white dress. So much lace it had to have cost a fortune. But the groom had stated that cost was no object but for the girl to have whatever her heart desired. What the she wouldn’t give for a man that sweet and gentle. No, her luck she fell for guys like Inuyasha. At least her friend had been spared that fate.
Her eyes lingered over the bride and groom. Yes, her friend had made a wonderful choice in her man. Then blue eyes flickered over to the man standing at the far end of the church. Being on of the bride’s maids, it gave her a good view of all those that were attending the ceremony. The guy in question was standing next to the door in jeans and a yellow shirt. Not exactly wedding attire in her opinion. She was surprised the man had even shown his face here today. It couldn’t be helped she guessed. Same with her relationship with Inuyasha. If she’d gotten with someone he wouldn’t have liked it but would have shown up for her sake alone. Thoughts of the hanyou brought back the pain; best not to think about it now.
Instead she looked back at the groom as he spoke his vows. It was so perfect she wanted to cry. Love and devotion was shining back at the young girl standing in front of him. Oh, to be loved so completely like that. Would she ever find it? Two years ago when she’d begun her last year of high school, she would never have foreseen this. The couple in front her had been nothing more than good friends. It was obviously to Kagome that the man had just the smallest crush on the girl. Keiko had become her friend when they’d met in chemistry class. It had bloomed into that of best friends within months. During that time she comforted the girl through a relationship. Kagome had been angered to hear how the guy was treating her so wrong. The man had dropped out of school and was a bum.
Keiko had said she wanted to get a good job after college in order to support them both. What kind of crap was that? He wouldn’t work, probably couldn’t read or write. He had sounded like a total loser in her opinion. She’d lost count of the times Keiko had come to class with red eyes from crying over him. The loser had been late to their date last night, he’d yelled her about her choice of movie, he’d never do anything romantic, and he was never there for her. The list was so long. Till one day Kagome had asked the girl why she was even with the guy.
The girl’s only response was that she loved him. Kagome had hated to tell the girl that sometimes love wasn’t enough. She knew that first hand. It took both people being in love and being dedicated to the other. If the man couldn’t even commit to a date how was he going to commit the rest of his life to her? One weekend Kagome had been preparing to take a long hot soak in her tub when the doorbell rang. Standing on her doorstep had been Keiko; crying. The two had gotten into a huge fight. The girl had never told her what it was about, except that this boy had picked a fight with one of Kieko’s male friends. The boy had a temper on him it seemed; reminded her of Inuyasha. A relationship needed trust if it were to last. Kagome had been strong in her resolve and told Keiko the plain truth of the matter. That relationship was going to fail. It had taken some time to convince the girl that she deserved better than that.
The next two months had been filled with just them two spending time together. There were a few occasions when she was sure the girl was going to break down in tears. But Keiko had done it; she’d ended her relationship with Yusuke. They were supposed to still remain friends but Kagome never saw him around. Hell she’d only seen him one day and that was from afar. Six weeks after they’d split, the two girls had gone to the movies. On the walk home the boy had been across the street leaning against the wall staring at them. Keiko had been shocked and scared to go talk to him. Kagome gently reminded her that she had to do what made her happy. To stand firm in her beliefs. So the girl had just simply waved at the man and continued walking. Kagome had managed to look back and get one last glance and wished she hadn’t. The boy had been staring at her with such hate it had felt like actual pain. Let him blame her if that’s what helped him sleep at night. Men never did accept their own faults, easier to place the blame on someone else.
The day Keiko had came into class saying that Ahiko had asked her to accompany him to dinner, Kagome had insisted that she go. The guy wasn’t anything special to look at but was extremely nice. Everyone knew of the boy’s large crush on the girl. What fool wouldn’t? Keiko was one of the popular girls in the school. Kagome was up there but didn’t get asked out much. Her aloofness tended to run most people away. The guy had went so far as to bring Keiko flowers before class and carry her books. It was so sweet, it had left the miko wanting. She’d be lucky to have a guy that didn’t scratch his balls in public.
The bride began repeating her vows as they all watched in silent awe. Whispers began as the priest announced that he could kiss his bride. The kiss was long and passionate that left no doubt of the feelings between the two. Turning towards the crowd the couple was announced formally. Kagome wiped the single tear that had begun to run down her cheek. People were cheering and clapping as they began to re-walk the isle but this time together. Shizuru nudged her in the side as Kuzuma began shouting making an ass out of himself as always. Kagome couldn’t help but giggle at the boy’s antics.
The blush crept along the bride’s cheeks as a few lewd remarks were made. Instead of having a reception the two were heading straight to the honeymoon. If the kiss was any indication the girl was in for a ride. Kagome smiled at that thought. She’d probably die a virgin at this rate. Marriage wasn’t for her. Once she would have freely given herself to Inuyasha but that was in the past and so was he. Didn’t mean she didn’t have her own urges at time. She’d be twenty soon and well past the time to experience a man. Some nights she took the matter into her own hands to find the smallest amount of pleasure. It shocked her that she didn’t fantasize about Inuyasha during those times. No instead her mind would conjure up someone dark and mysterious, thrilling and exciting, a man who’s touch drove her wild. Said man probably didn’t exist but it didn’t stop her mind and body from enjoying the idea regardless.
Yusuke gave Keiko a small smile as she walked past him into the awaiting sunlight. Not moving he watched her go. Knowing she was finally gone, forever lost to him. Strangely the idea didn’t cause any pain. It was more of a dull ache that wouldn’t go away. Had it been his fault? Maybe so but hell he’d tried. Keiko couldn’t deny that he’d tried to make her happy. He’d given up his fighting and lust to become stronger. His desire to be the Makai King had been put on hold so he could spend time with her. He couldn’t change who or what he was, had that been the cause? His eyes flickered over the girls standing at the front.
Sneering he saw the one that he didn’t care for. Things had been going okay until she’d become friends with that tart. That girl had helped end him and Keiko’s relationship. He knew he wasn’t entirely without any blame. But dammit they could have worked things out if she hadn’t stuck her nose into their business. Soon after that friendship had started all Keiko would talk about was HER! Then whenever they fought Keiko made sure he knew what the precious friend thought of him. ‘Kagome is right you are a bum. Kagome thinks you should do it. See, Kagome agrees with me.’ To hell with Kagome! Who did the girl think she was?
That girl was already on his shit list. If she’d been a male he’d done kicked her ass but she had to be a girl. A beautiful one, with large blue eyes, a tiny nose, full pink lips.... wooh, what the hell was he doing? Snapping his attention back to the others, it was safer to look at Shizuru. So the girl was nice to look at, too bad she was a bitch. A bitch that had stuck her nose in his business. She didn’t know all about him and Keiko’s past. Or about what he really was or what he’d been through. Even if she did, he doubted the girl’s opinion would have changed; she was just that type. A man wasn’t any good unless he had a high paying job, a fancy car and catered to his woman. Dammit, so he wasn’t rich or didn’t drive but he had loved Keiko. Would have died for her. This girl had turned the one person that had always stood by his side against him. What words had she spoken? Females were capable of anything, that much he knew.
Sighing he knew he shouldn’t let it bother him but as he had watched the couple he felt robbed. Not having many friends and no family; you couldn’t count his lush mother. He wanted someone special to come home to at the end of the day. Someone to give him what he wanted most in the world; love. Keiko had always said she loved him but where was that love now? Tossed aside like it had meant nothing at all. His sacrifices had all been in vain. It had gotten him nothing in the end but watching the girl he loved marry another man. His heart felt leaden as the cheers continued as the couple stopped outside for the bride to throw her bouquet. The bride’s maids were all walking down the isle now to head outside with everyone else. People would want to wish them farewell before they took off.
His eyes landed on the girl as she spoke in hushed tones to another girl. The light blue dress looked better on her than any of the others. The material fit snug on her lean form, hugging every curve as she strutted down the isle. The girl had to know what she was doing. That walk screamed ‘Stare at me.’ His anger against her was still there as she marched outside to say bye to the couple she’d help form. That’s right, she’d been the one to convince Keiko to find another man and discard him. That last fight he’d heard enough. Keiko had made sure to throw the girl’s opinion and words in his face. “Kagome, thinks I deserve better. She says you will never amount to anything. You know what she’s right, I do deserve better. You are selfish! It’s over Yusuke, don’t bother walking me home. I’ll call Kagome and have her pick me up.” Those words haunted him.
Kagome gathered behind the large crowd of women. All wanting to catch the flowers. What the hell for? Not like it meant anything. Just because someone caught it didn’t mean anything. Groaning she moved aside as some blonde girl rudely shoved her with an elbow. ‘Bitch!’ It would take more than those flowers to land her a husband. Kagome let her eyes land on the girl, one she knew all too well. It was Ahiko’s cousin, Yuriko. It was that bitch that had been trying to break Keiko and Ahiko up. Why, the miko couldn’t fathom. Maybe it was because the girl didn’t want anyone to be happy because she wasn’t. There was no way she was happy either. Kagome had watched her jump from man to man. The girl didn’t know how to say no either. Every single guy she’d been more than eager to jump in the sack with. If the girl caught the bouquet, then she better buy her new husband a board and some rope so he don’t fall in.
She backed up further just wanting to be away from all the commotion. Let them fight over something so stupid. She’d make her own luck and search for love, not expect it to fall into her lap. Arms were flying into the air as Keiko turned her back to the flock of women. Kagome was all for celebrating but wasn’t going to try and actually catch it. Taking a deep breath she spun on her heels wanting to get away. Her breath lodged in her throat when she looked into the piercing brown gaze.
Yusuke let his eyes linger into her own and was pulled into the dark blue depths. His soul was suddenly swimming in those eyes. The sound of women screaming was heard all around them but he was unaware of it all. Instead he couldn’t pull himself away from the girl now staring back at him. Did she know who he was? They’d never been introduced. He doubted she knew who he was, why would she care. Besides she’d destroyed his relationship with Keiko. He meant nothing to her, just another guy she’d help destroy along her way to self fulfillment.
“What do you know I caught it.” Shizuru pushed the bouquet in the girl’s face. The staring contest between the two was somewhat amusing. She snickered at the heated look Kagome had but what interested her more was Yusuke. He’d looked ready to devour the girl. She hadn’t even known they’d met. “I see you two have met.”
“Actually, we’ve never been introduced. Though I’ve heard more than enough about her.” Yusuke crossed his arms. That was putting it lightly. He was tired of hearing the fucking name. The girl’s name was like a bad cum stain that you just couldn’t get off your black sheets. The way her cheeks were becoming brighter said she knew who he was. So, did it bother her to see the man she’d help be discarded? He doubted it!
“Well, Yusuke this is Kagome. Kagome this is Yusuke, Keiko’s ex. Now, that we’ve all met, how about we head over to the party at my place. Since those kids didn’t bother hosting a reception, Kuzuma and I are going to feed everyone that wants to hang out. Toss back a few beers and have a good time. You are coming Kagome, so wipe that look off your face.” Shizuru grabbed her arms as the limo began to pull off, taking the newlyweds with it.
Kagome pushed the drunken male off her shoulder. The wobbling head just swayed back to find the pillow he’d made. Groaning she thought of pushing him completely off the couch. That would serve him right. The stranger burped in his sleep, reeking of beer and eggs. She was going to be sick. The party was in full swing but she was ready to head home. The two beers she’d consumed didn’t help her nerves. Being with a bunch of people she didn’t know, only made her slightly nervous. It was the stare that refused to leave her head. Had she grown horns on the way over in Shizuru’s car?
She could feel him watching her every move. It made her skin tingle in anticipation. Why she had no idea. What could she be wanting to happen? Besides the glaring to stop and soon. Thoughts of picking her nose came to mind. Maybe then he’d stop. He was standing on the wall with Kuwabara talking. What the conversation was about she couldn’t hear. It would have bored her no doubt. Closing her eyes, she tried to keep her mind clear. It was already a little foggy from the alcohol. They snapped open when a hand suddenly landed on her left breast in a tight hold. The first thing she saw was penetrating brown eyes filled with some raw emotion. Her frustrated yelp got attention from those hanging around. The slobbering drunk mumbled before squeezing harder. Her hand flew out and grabbed the large plastic bowl on the table containing chips. Without regards to the clean carpet she brought the dish across his head. He toppled forward, hitting the inn table as he went down. “You pervert.”
Standing up she set her mind on going home. She lived just down the street, within walking distance. The apartment complex wasn’t the best but she could afford it on her part-time job. Her mother helped whenever she could which helped. Stepping over the now unconscious man, she made her way to the hallway closet to find her purse. Seeing the small black bag, it was grabbed quickly.
Yusuke watched her walk out the door. Telling Kuwabara he’d be right back he followed. He wasn’t sure why he was following her. He felt the strong need to talk to her. Part of him wanted to know exactly what she’d said to Keiko. The other felt drawn to the girl. He’d made a few inquiries about her while at the party. His few friends seemed to like her but there was some that didn’t. Yuriko had given him an earful and was more than happy to talk. She said most people thought the girl to be stuck up. The type that cared only about herself. She had stated how the girl went from male to male, breaking all their hearts in the process. This Kagome found nothing wrong with using men. Some of the guys he’d talked to had outright called the girl a bitch. An uptight, conceited, snotty bitch; had been Hojo’s opinion.
Stepping out into the night air, he caught sight of her form just down the road a bit. She was heading to the apartments. So she lived there, did she live alone? The lingering smell of a cook-out filled his nostrils. That and perfume that had to be the girl’s. Seeing her getting close he sped up knowing if she got inside she wouldn’t open the door for him. He had a few things to say to her while he had the chance.
Kagome was fumbling with her keys when a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder. Dropping the key ring she spun around to confront the person. Her heart sank seeing the tall boy standing very close. How the hell hadn’t she noticed him following her? Because your mind had been preoccupied on him, stupid. All the way home she’d been thinking about him. Which was stupid considering who the hell he was. It was Keiko’s loser ex-boyfriend. The one she’d told the girl didn’t deserve her. So why hadn’t she been able to stop thinking about him?
Okay, she’d admit that he was very cute in a rugged sort of way. His hair hung limply in his face, not back as it had been before. It made him look younger and more appealing. His thick lips were parted as he just stared at her. Her stomach clenched as his tongue came out to wet those tasty lips. What would it be like to kiss him? Scolding herself for even thinking it, she took it out on him. “What the hell do you want?”
The anger she displayed made his own rise. She really was a bitch, already yelling at him for no reason. If only she had a set of balls then he’d be able to smack her ass. He’d only come to talk to her not put up with this shit. The rumors had to be true. She showed her sweet little act in front of those she wanted and her true self to those that didn’t matter. “I came to ask you a fucking question. You will answer me too. I want to know what lies you told Keiko.”
Kagome paled at the accusation. She’d never lied to Keiko about anything that she knew of. The girl did deserve to be happy, she was a good person. It was obvious she wasn’t happy with this man so she hadn’t lied. What right did he have to say such things to her when she’d only given her friend some sound advice? He was being the ass she’d always thought him to be. No wonder the girl hadn’t been happy. This guy was a big jerk, and a rude one to boot. He’d followed her home to curse at her and demand things. He was no better than those from her past. “I suggest you leave before I call the authorities. I’m sure they all know you by name by now but I doubt they’ll take kindly to you harassing me.”
“Oh, that one hurt.” He crossed his arms and stared down at her. She only came up to his chin, very small. Still she stood there with her fists balled and anger blazing in her eyes. Not many people stood up to him. The girl had no idea how he’d retaliate but held her ground. Admiration fueled his anger along with the condemning look in her eyes. So she thought herself to be better than him. “From what I’ve heard they all have your number on speed dial. Makes me wonder why someone like Keiko would befriend you.”
Kagome gasped at the comment. Everyone knew she’d dated a cop for a few months. The relationship had gone nowhere. It had gotten to the point where he wanted more than just casual dating. Not wanting to give up her virginity to someone she didn’t love it had ended badly. The man had told lies about her. Not that she gave a damn, they could all rot in hell. The bum had no right to stand here and lecture her! When she knew he’d been a fucking dog in his relationship with Keiko. Her friend had commented on several occasion that all it seemed he wanted to do was have sex. They’d never done it but the boy had pressured the girl on many an occasion. Constantly groping and trying to seduce the girl into his bed. “Screw you, I don’t have to listen to this. Leave now, you asshole. If you want to know why you and Keiko’s relationship didn’t work out. Next time try looking in the mirror. You are lucky she stayed with you as long as she did.”
Yusuke saw the accusation flaring back in her eyes and guilt. Why would she feel guilty unless she’d done something wrong? The blue eyes flashed as she fumbled with her purse. Moving his foot to the right it covered up the keys she was frantically searching for. She wasn’t going anywhere until his questions were answered. True, he’d been lucky to keep Keiko for so long and it pissed him off to hear her point it out. “You bitch, she’d still be with me if it weren’t for you.”
Kagome lashed out at the insult, her hand connecting with his cheek. Nothing but the sound of a car starting some distance away was heard along with the crack of the slap. It had hit him dead on, leaving a large red mark even she could see in the moonlight. If this kept up she’d end up waking up her neighbors. Just her luck she was on the backside of the complex. The apartment to her left was empty, a couple lived to her right but were on vacation. Standing on the small porch she ignored the tingling in her hand. His mouth was slightly parted as he took a deep breath. Not wanting him to know how he was effecting her, she lashed out again. “If it weren’t for me she wouldn’t be happily married.”
“I could have made her happy. You have NO idea what I have given up to make her happy. You are just like everyone else, judging me without even knowing me. You don’t know me. Right now I’m very glad that you don’t. People like you make me sick. You think of no one but yourself. If anyone deserves to be unhappy it is you. I pray that you end up alone and the one you love discards you.” Yusuke let the words roll off his tongue wanting her to feel some of the pain he’d felt. Someone needed to hurt as much as he. It wasn’t fair that he should end up alone when he’d given everything up for her.
Kagome felt as if she’d been punched in the chest. Is that why it had happened? Did she deserve to be unhappy? Should she make his day by telling him his wish had been granted long before it had been uttered? She had been discarded by the man she loved after she’d given up everything to be with him. Is that the pain she’d caused this man without realizing it? No, that couldn’t be right. If it was then what had Keiko not told her? The pain she saw echoing in his eyes was real, pain she’d helped cause. NO, she hadn’t done anything but tell Keiko she deserved to be happy. Their relationship had nothing to do with her. Anger was her friend now, she’d use it. “Just because you don’t know how to please a woman, don’t blame me. If you’d treated her right she wouldn’t have left you. Why don’t you stop and ask yourself what you have to offer a woman instead of blaming others for your shortcomings.”
Yusuke felt the bite of her words. His eyes focused on the rise and fall of her chest as it heaved in anger. The silk shirt was tight against her skin, the first three buttons undone. Exposing just enough skin to tease. What did he have to offer a woman? Nothing but his heart and maybe his body. The gaze lingered as she put her hands on her hips as she waited to see his response. The black skirt hugged the curves as she strained to stand in the same spot. Through the sting in his cheek he felt his body respond. That tight stirring began to awaken as she looked him over, as if sizing him up. Did she really want to know what he had to offer?
Kagome was sure he’d gone stupid as he just stood there. “Well? Can’t think of anything can you. Ever thought she is better off with a man that can give her what she wants? Love, a home, security and maybe passion?” Yes, weren’t those the things every woman wanted. A man to give her all those things. Was it asking to much to want that? Keiko had seemed to find it in someone, so it wasn’t impossible. She felt her head go dizzy as he closed the distance between them.
Yusuke wasn’t sure what made him move but her voice had sounded like a challenge. She backed up into the door but it made no difference. Within seconds he had her pinned between his arms. “Passion? Let’s see if I have any to offer a woman, shall we.” His mouth claimed hers, pushed hard against her parted lips. A hand sprang between them as the purse fell to the floor. The small palm pushed against his chest. Without any care his tongue forced it’s way into her mouth. The surprised noise caused the lips to open wider. It was enough to allow him complete entry.
Kagome felt her knees go weak as his mouth landed on hers. This couldn’t be happening, he was kissing her. The strings in her belly pulled feeling his tongue gliding over her own. It was wet and hot, stirring her senses. Damn, he was a good kisser. It coaxed her own to react, she let herself go with it. It was only a little kiss. Entwining her own with his, he brought a hand to rest on her hip. The touch was light but sent tiny pricks of awareness throughout her body.
Yusuke suppressed the groan as she relaxed against him. The hand was now lodged onto his neck, the fingers running small circles over the nape. It was sending waves of pleasure down his spine. He felt himself harden as her tongue snaked out to lick his bottom lip. Did she have any idea what she was doing to him? It should have been a kiss drawn from punishment. He felt no need to punish or prove her wrong. Instead he felt like taking what she was offering. Could he fuck her and pretend it didn’t happen? Yes, he’d done it many times before. After the split with Keiko he’d found himself a few lovers in the Makai. All of them had been experienced women, whores. All of them wanting to bed Raizen’s heir. They had taken his virginity and given him the means in which to sate his lust.
Kagome was sure she had to be dreaming. She’d passed out next to the drunkard at the party and was dreaming about this man. The kiss felt better than those she’d imagined while pleasuring herself. The ache was there, waiting to be appeased and all from a kiss. Why him? Why couldn’t Inuyasha have kissed her like this? Instead it was with a man that she didn’t like and he probably couldn’t stand her. Yet, her body was stirring with need. She knew what it wanted but could she allow herself to give into the urge? What kind of person would that make her?
Yusuke felt his youkai blood stirring as the wind picked up. A strange but intoxicating scent invaded his senses. Grabbing a hold of the slender hip, it was pulled against his body. Bringing his throbbing length to rub along the flat surface of her stomach. She gasped in his mouth but didn’t pull away at the contact. The scent spiked as he caused friction by rubbing himself against her warm body. His instincts told him it was her desire he smelled. He’d smelt it before on the whores but it had been different. Those smells had been more musky, stronger. Her’s was very light, not as strong but more pleasant. Wanting to know for sure, he continued to assault her mouth.
Kagome lost all coherent thought when the calloused hand began lifting up her skirt. The material was made to fit snug against the skin. As it was yanked around her waist, that’s where it stayed. The satin panties gave no resistance to the hand that tugged the side until it ripped. She shuddered in fear and excitement. Her mind screamed that she should push him away then have him arrested for his behavior. The panties were tossed aside as his tongue stabbed deeper into her mouth, licking every corner.
He ran his hand along the creamy inside of her thighs. She was incredibly smooth and hot, unlike anything he’d felt before. Not wanting to wait he cupped the mound nestled between her legs. Her body jerked as his fingers found the wet folds. The moisture collected around the tips as her legs went wider. His member ached to be released, to bury itself. He had to be a complete fool to be doing this. This was Keiko’s best friend. Still the thought didn’t make him stop from finding the sensitive jewel hidden between the folds.
Kagome felt her body jerk and loose control at the touch. It was too much to ignore. The skilled fingers began pulling moans from her throat. They dipped to brush across her opening to massage her clit in a swift motion. It was driving her to the point of release. The tension was there, growing tighter with each second. The hand left her suddenly, then the sound of a zipper was heard. “Wait...” Even to her ears, the voice sounded weak and hollow. She wasn’t going to ask him to stop but she didn’t want her first time to be on her doorstep.
Yusuke heard her mutter something but paid it no attention. The pants were pushed down far enough to give him room. Grabbing her around the waist he lifted her up and pushed her against the wooden door. The legs had no choice but to wrap around his waist for support. His eyes rolled feeling his tip brush against the slick opening. She was more than ready for him and he wasn’t going to wait any longer. Moving his hips he placed himself right at the entrance. Using the wall for support and gripping her waist he pushed up.
Kagome hissed in pain as he began to fill her. He was sliding in with ease but it had to be tearing her in the process. The thick feeling consumed her as he didn’t stop. She gasped as every inch was forced inside her virgin body. The feeling was new and different from anything she’d done to herself. Placing her own finger inside couldn’t begin to compare to him. He was stretching her walls to the point of it being painful. Taking a deep breath she willed her body to stop shaking.
Yusuke felt the muscles slowly giving in as he pushed on. It was hard to get his cock more than halfway inside the tight passage. His body ached for release but her back was arched in pain. Pulling slightly out he waited for her to stop shaking. When she began to move against him, he pushed back in. This time he went in a little deeper. How could she feel this good?
She almost screamed when he pulled out again only to slam in with the next thrust. It put him further inside her and caused more pain. The friction of it was nice but she didn’t think she was ready for it. The man holding her didn’t seem to care. His body began moving rapidly as she held on. It stung as he rode her, while she adjusted to the size. Her arms went around his neck holding tightly. The small tension was there and increased as the pace slowed.
Yusuke felt her walls tighten around him. His body demanded release. He applied more weight against her small form, pressing her into the door. His hand cupped her behind her shoulders holding her still. His next thrust put him deeper and she cried out. The sound stirred his blood. Wanting to hear it again he repeated the motion. He was rewarded with her loud moan of pleasure.
Kagome felt him hitting a sensitive spot every time he thrust deeper. She felt her release at the peak, ready to wash over her. Each time he hit it, it filled the pleasurable tension. It was teasing her, letting her know just how good it would be once it came crashing down. Her whole lower region felt on fire as he kept the steady pace. She wanted more but was being denied. Using her legs she lifted herself up and back down to meet his thrust. That got his attention and what she wanted. The feeling of him moving faster made the tension snap.
He heard her scream of release as the walls tightened around him. Her body began to pull him deeper as she came. Feeling his own taking over he went faster, pushing himself to the limit. The sound of skin meeting, made him wild. The thrust became more hard than fast. Nails dug into his back through the cotton shirt as he felt the wave wash over him. His member jerked as she squeezed him, pulling the seed from his body.
Kagome felt him release her enough so she could slide down. When she did so her feet hit something; her keys. Reaching down she snatch them up and quickly found the right one. His eyes popped open at the sound. His brow lifted as she opened the door. Not wanting to speak she stepped inside the dark interior. Her emotions were raw and she was close to breaking down. When he began to speak she shut the sound off by slamming the door shut. The deadbolt slid into place as he began to bang on the door.
~~~~A week later~~~~
Yusuke watched the girl from across the street. She had no idea he was there yet. It hadn’t been hard to find her, he just had to go ask Mr. Yukimora where Keiko was. The two girls were sitting in the large diner having breakfast. He could barely make out of her face as she sat there stirring the cup of coffee. Whatever sugar she’d put in it had to be stirred in by now. She’d been nursing it for over half an hour now. Her face was pulled into a tight mask as she listened to whatever his ex-girlfriend was saying. His chest tightened seeing the look. It was sad, filled with remorse. Feelings he’d caused?
Should he go in there and let her know exactly how he felt? Anger and guilt was his constant companion now. Going home had been hard enough. Obvious he wasn’t getting inside her home without breaking the door down. Pulling his pants up he’d made his way home. When he’d gotten there Kurama had been waiting on him. The kitsune had merely given him a strange look before heading back into the kitchen. The bathroom was the next place he went, to take a shower. It was there he’d stripped in the light. Seeing the blood on his flaccid cock had stunned him. His mind screamed at it but he didn’t want to believe it. He’d never gone to those stupid classes at school. His mother hadn’t taught him shit. What he’d known of sex before the whores had been talk. Which wasn’t much considering he never had any friends but Keiko and Kuwabara. Those two had avoided any subject resembling sex. Wrapping a towel around his middle he’d gone straight to the man in the kitchen. “Kurama, what makes a woman bleed during sex?”
“Depends, was the woman menstruating?” At his negative shake, Kurama looked thoughtful. “Well, human females can bleed just the smallest amount their first time. The other case would be if it was forced intercourse. If the woman isn’t prepared then it can tear her. Why?” Yusuke had felt like he’d been punched in the gut. She’d been more than ready for it but extremely tight. She’d muttered to him before he’d been about to enter. Had she been wanting to stop? He’d been her first and he’d taken her against her door.
His eyes narrowed as she got up to walk away. Seeing his chance he crossed the street. The chimes sounded as he entered the place. Keiko noticed him the second he entered. A big smile was sent his way and he couldn’t help but smile back. She did look happy, too happy. It caused his stomach to pitch. Maybe he’d made a mistake. Had Keiko leaving him been the best thing for her to do? “Hey Keiko.”
She smiled at him and waved him over. This would prove to be good, she’d been wanting to talk to him. Now that she was back she wanted to smooth things over again. For some odd reason she felt like something was still standing between their friendship. Kagome had gone to use the payphone so the other seat was empty. He sat down across from her eyeing the cold cup of coffee. “Sorry, Kagome went to go use the phone.”
“I see, I can leave if I’m intruding.” He knew he was but really wasn’t going to leave. This ‘chance’ meeting was what he wanted. He’d just pretend that he’d seen Keiko at the table and had come in to talk to her. Not like he had known she’d be there also. Leaning back he saw her negative shake as she took a sip of her own mug.
“No, it’s okay. Look, I know we didn’t end on good terms. I said a lot of things I shouldn’t have. You have to understand I felt like I was trapped. Hell, I was a bitch. I think part of it was because I wasn’t happy. Deep down I knew you weren’t either.” She held up her hand when he tried to speak. “Don’t lie to either yourself or me. You weren’t happy with me. Being in love with someone means loving them for who they are; everything about them. There are things about you that will always stop that from happening. I love you and don’t want you to change but you aren’t the one for me. I’ll always be your friend. Didn’t you ever stop to wonder why some things were missing in our relationship? I know you don’t want to hear this but when I’m with my husband he makes me feel alive. Just looking at him stirs me. Have you ever looked at me and felt your blood run hot?”
The question caught him off guard. Was she insinuating that he didn’t desire her? He’d wanted her but she had a point. He didn’t want to admit that to himself though. Because he’d have to admit that yes it had happened to him and not too long ago. As he’d watched her best friend inside that church he’d felt it. The pull had been there and his blood had stirred. It hadn’t mattered that he didn’t like her, it had been there. “I guess you have a point.”
“We can get past this. I don’t want any hard feelings between us. Hell I even used Kagome as a means of escape and she’d been nothing but a true friend to me. I know you don’t like her and that’s mostly my fault. I said some things that weren’t true. I guess that was my way of telling you how I felt while letting someone else take the fall. She wants me to be happy just how I want you to be happy. Have you gotten a chance to meet her yet?”
“Yeah, at the wedding.” Then real close afterwards. He frowned when his body stirred at the memories. He’d gotten to know parts of her real well. His eyes lingered over Keiko for several moments and he couldn’t help but compare the two. Yes, Keiko was classically beautiful but Kagome’s was more vivid; more alive. The ache wouldn’t go away as he caught her scent lingering on the jacket placed next to him.
Kagome stopped in her tracks at the sight. Her stomach hit the cold marble floor as Yusuke threw his hands behind his head casually to laugh at something her friend said. The closeness between them was still there. It tugged at her heart to see it. Keiko was happily married with a man that adored her and had someone that was madly in love with her. She could see the adoration on his features as they spoke. It shocked and dismayed her all at once. She wouldn’t have pegged him being capable of that type of feeling. It was there, slapping her in the face. Why should she even care? Because she hadn’t stopped thinking about him since that night. A week had passed and he was constantly on her mind. Wondering just what type of person he really was. In a way she had wronged him. She had judged him before hearing both sides of the story. Seeing the look he was sending across the table spoke volumes. ‘You have no idea what I’ve given up to make her happy.’ Those words came back to haunt her. He loved her!
Clenching her fists she wasn’t even sure why she cared. He meant nothing to her, nothing! Let him be smitten with Keiko, she would be fine. She doubted she’d even crossed his mind after he’d pulled up his pants. He’d fucked her like a cheap piece of ass last week and was still trying to get back with another. What was worse; not only had she let him but had enjoyed it. Enjoyed it so much it kept her up at night. Having dreams about feeling his touch. Wanting to know what it would feel like to have him make love to her. To have him hold her in that warm embrace as he spoke soft words in her ear. She was being an idiot. She didn’t know him and was letting a quick moments lust make mush of her brain.
Her purse and jacket were on the chair next to him. She couldn’t just leave it there. Willing herself she took a deep breath. The sounds of her footsteps sounded loud to her ears as she crossed the diner. Both faces turned to her as she neared. Keiko was smiling and he had a look of complete indifference. It stung that he was acting like he didn’t know who she was. Two could play that game, screw him. “Sorry, I got to head out now. Mom needs me at the shrine for a few days. Gramps isn’t feeling all that well.” The lie easily slipped off her tongue.
“I hope he’s okay.” Keiko saw the stress around her mouth. The girl’s face was pale and she appeared to be distressed. Was something seriously wrong with her grandfather? Hopefully that wasn’t the case. Kagome loved her family fiercely. She’d been hoping they all could sit down and talk. She would like it if her and Yusuke could become friends since she loved them both.
He frowned when she suddenly leaned over him to reach for her belongings. Her scent hit him full force and his body sprang to life. She smelt good, better than that. The urge to bury his nose in her thick hair was strong. To wrap his hands around the slender neck, pull her into his lap. It would no doubt freak both women out if he were to do so. Instead he let it fill his nostrils and stir his senses.
Kagome snatched the purse last and began to lean back up. She didn’t like being so close to him. It was unnerving. As she straightened herself, she blushed seeing the large bulge in his jeans. After having experienced it first hand there was no mistaking it. He was rock hard, straining in the pants. A frown replaced the fake smile, to cover up the hurt. What had she interrupted. Keiko looked to be innocent enough. That didn’t mean anything, she wasn’t stupid. Yusuke was turned on and she had walked in on it. He’d been getting excited while talking with his ex. Keiko had said he was always trying to touch her and get fresh. After what she’d felt with him, she didn’t doubt it. He seemed to be a very virile man. It still pained her to know that while he’d fucked her his body was aching for another woman. Had she been a means to relieve that tension? “I’ll call you later tonight.” Kagome gave the girl a quick but false smile before departing.
Keiko watched her leave and frowned. Something was definitely up with that girl. All week she’d barely said a word. Staring out the window or staring off into space. The girl’s mind was elsewhere. “Sorry about that. I’m not sure what’s bothering her lately. She isn’t herself.”
Kagome kicked the front tire and swore when it hit back. The edge of her toe was throbbing as she pushed the bangs out her eyes. This really wasn’t her day. This car hated her it seemed. Glancing at the gear stored in the backseat she waited patiently. Using her borrowed cell phone she called Shizuru knowing Keiko had already left to head up north. This trip was already going downhill. It had been planned for six months. Being packed in ready to go she climbed in the car to find the fucker wouldn’t start. Not wanting to risk missing out on the vacation she would have to catch a ride. The site they’d rented had cost them a good amount. All five of them had pitched in for the rent.
Sighing she waited in the cool breeze for the girl to pick her up. Good thing she was a light packer or she’d be up Shit Creek. This camping trip should help her relax. Anything to get her mind off HIM. Why couldn’t she stop thinking about him? It had just been one night. Well, one night of anything physical. But she’d known of him for almost two years. Ever since she’d met Keiko, the name Yusuke had been there in the shadows. Now that the man had a face it was torturing her to no end. Sleeping with him had made matters worse.
He should have remained a figure, not come to life within her arms. This was going to drive her to pull her hair out. The hurt from two weeks ago was still fresh. So he still wanted and loved Keiko. She was fooling herself if she even imagined that she could get him to fall for her. Her past already shown the mistake of thinking that way. He still loved his first love and wouldn’t give that up for her. Inuyasha hadn’t and look what all she’d done for him. All she’d done for Yusuke was spread her legs.
Not wanting to start the trip off on a sour note, she forced her mind to think of someone else. Anyone else but Yusuke! She barely knew the guy for crying out loud. Hearing Keiko talk about him for so long didn’t mean she knew him. Sure she knew what his favorite restaurant was, what his favorite color was and that he liked video games. That all came from listening to her friend. Didn’t matter if she still remembered it all for some strange reason. “Get a grip!”
The bright red Kia Sportage came cruising down the road. Relief filled her seeing the siblings arriving. Maybe riding with them would help get her mind off the man. Keiko would flip if she knew of what had transpired between Yusuke and herself. She’d end the friendship if she knew Kagome kept thinking about the guy. The miko didn’t want to end her friendship over something that should have never happened. Taking a deep breath she waved as the vehicle pulled up to a sudden stop beside her own. “Thanks for coming.”
Kagome watched Kuwabara get out of the passenger door with goofy look on his face. He must have been laughing hysterically about something. Her eyes swept over at driver side as the backseat door opened. Her heart fell and began to roll under her small car. Fate had just came running to deliver a swift kick to the nutts. The dark head was unmistakable as he climbed out. What was he doing there?
“No problem girl, hate to leave you stranded. We do have one small problem though. Yusuke decided to join us at the last minute and my car is almost full with all the stuff. I’m sure we can get your things in. You’ll have to sit on Yusuke’s lap on the drive up I’m afraid. I got stuck with the grill and most of the baggage and food.” Shizuru opened up the back in order to shove Kagome’s bags inside.
There wasn’t much room left but they’d have to manage. The man they were renting the cabin from had called at the last minute to inform them that the stove had broken. So they had to take a grill, not wanting to microwave everything. Then just last night Yusuke had stopped by when everyone but Kagome was there planning it out. Keiko and her husband had asked him to tag along. Kuwabara had also jumped at the idea. She was glad of the change. Kieko would no doubt be occupied with her man. It left her and Kagome time to hang out and have fun. Having her kid bro tagging along up their asses didn’t sit well. This way the two guys could hang out.
“I’ll help get your stuff.” Kuwabara rushed to grab the suitcase out the backseat. The only thing left was her duffle bag which contained her bathroom supplies and her hiking gear. Yusuke didn’t bother looking at her but went on the other side to get the gear out leaving her to grab her duffle bag and purse. They weren’t giving her time to protest at the situation.
Kagome groaned grabbing her belongings. This couldn’t be happening to her, not now. The drive was eight hours long. How the hell was she to sit in his lap that long without screaming? Maybe she could lean all the way up and just sit on his knees. Keep as far from him as possible. She couldn’t tell them no. If she didn’t go with them after all the planning and excitement over the trip; they’d know something was wrong. She doubted Yusuke would sit in Kuwabara’s lap if she asked.
Yusuke pushed the gear behind Kuwabara’s seat filling the empty space on the floor. The backseat was now full except where he’d be sitting. He’d wouldn’t be allowed much moving room as it was. Shizuru had no idea what she was asking. His eyes roamed over the girl now locking up her car, she didn’t look happy about it either. She looked cute in the grey sweats. The clothes bagged off her being more for warmth.
His body twitched remembering exactly what was being hidden from view. He hadn’t wanted to come when they’d asked him. Not really wanting to listen to Kuwabara’s mouth all week. Seeing Keiko with her new man hadn’t bothered him like it should have. Was it because he was over it? Or did the girl storming over to him have something to do with it? Shizuru had made the comment that him coming would keep her idiot brother out of her and Kagome’s hair, he’d decided to tag along. It would give him a chance to see what type of person she was really like. When the car had been loaded and they were about to walk out the phone had rung. Shizuru had been inside as they stuff the last of the bags in. She’d come out informing them that Kagome would be riding with them. It wasn’t until they were climbing in they noticed the lack of room. Could he deal with her sitting in his lap for that long?
“Let’s get going, we aren’t going to arrive until after dark as is. I’m sure Kuzuma is going to want to stop and eat too. That’ll take an hour itself.” Shizuru watched Yusuke climb in and Kagome handed him the small bag and purse. They were pushed in with the other bags. The boy had an odd look on his face as she pulled herself up into the back.
Kagome sighed as she saw just how little room they really did have. This was going to be hell. The seat had been pushed up all the way to fit the grill in back. If she sat all the way up she’d be necking with Shizuru. Not to mention hugging the seat. Without looking back she planted herself on his knees turning her own legs towards the middle. Maybe she could lean back on the door, just have to make sure it was locked. She wouldn’t allow him to become tempted and open it while Shizuru was going over eighty.
Yusuke felt her sit down but at the very edge of his knees. If she moved up any she’d be in the driver’s seat. Was being close to him that bad? The door closed and she turned to hit the lock. He had to grin at the motion. He might not like her but he wouldn’t throw her out. As the engine started he got comfortable. Pushing on his shoes, they slid off to land next to her feet. Her blue eyes glared at him but it went ignored. If he had to sit in the car for most of the day, he’d damn well be comfortable. Besides he had on socks.
Kagome hoped his feet didn’t stink. Though the idea did have merit. Leaning over she did the same before settling back against the door. The radio was turned on by Kuwabara as they began moving. She closed her eyes and prayed that Shizuru didn’t do the speed limit and that there wasn’t much traffic. The clock in front flashed just a tad after three.
Kagome was in hell! The clock was now showing after seven and they’d only gotten two hours into their trip. Kuwabara had to stop twice at a rest stop because he’d drank too many soft drinks. Then over an hour and half ago the traffic had come to a complete stop. Thinking it faster Shizuru had gotten onto a main highway. The radio had reported on a serious accident. A semi-truck had turned over and at least ten cars had piled up. She was just glad she’d went to the bathroom during the last stop. It had given her a chance to stretch her legs and get the kink out of her back. Sitting straight up was hell on her spine but she refused to lean on him. He looked comfortable, she wanted to deck him. Her ass was going numb from sitting in this position. There was no look of it clearing up anytime soon either. The radio was now saying they were working on clearing it up now. The injured had been carted to the nearest hospital but to expect delays for another hour. Just her luck.
Yusuke frowned as the girl stared forward. She couldn’t be comfortable sitting in that position. He kept seeing her fidgeting and then rubbing her back. She was lucky the spine hadn’t snapped in two with how straight she was sitting up. Whenever she’d try to lean back against the door, it only lasted several minutes before she gave up. At this rate she’d be in serious pain before they arrived. Reaching up he grabbed her around the waist. She grunted but was yanked back up against his chest. “I’m not going to bite you. Lean back and relieve your back for a while.”
Kagome was going to give him a good chewing out but the words lodged in her throat. Kuwabara had turned around to look at them. It didn’t matter if he had a point, she didn’t want to get close to him. Still, it felt good when she gave in and leaned back against him. She was glad it was getting dark quick and she couldn’t see his face clearly. Hell if he was offering himself as a chair she’d take it. Her back was thankful for it even if her heart and mind didn’t like it. Shifting some she turned so she could lay her head on his shoulder, giving him most of her weight. It didn’t seem to phase him. She was draped across his lap now, his hand gripping her knees. Without turning her head she couldn’t see the traffic in front of them or keep up with the time.
He felt her shift and get comfortable rubbing her ass against his thighs. The groan was suppressed as it stirred him. This wasn’t the time for it. A hand was placed on her knees and behind her back to keep her still. Her head was resting on his shoulder, no doubt so she wouldn’t be so close to his face. Kuwabara began complaining as another car began honking it’s horn. The two siblings began bickering over his tantrum. He sighed knowing it was going to be a long evening. The girl in his arms snuggled deeper into his embrace. It shocked him when her arm moved to snake over his middle. Was she asleep?
Kagome blushed but couldn’t help it. Laying against him was making her tension ease. It felt a lot better than she’d thought it would. The feeling of being safe consumed her. She’d snuggled deeper against him before she’d thought about it. Her body had done what had felt natural. How could being held by him feel so right? It didn’t matter that he was only doing it so they’d both be comfortable on the ride. Giving in she wrapped her arm around his middle to complete the position. Instead of protesting the arm around her back tightened.
Yusuke felt her relax in his arms. The moron in front of him continued to raise his voice in aggravation. The car finally began to move slowly, they moved only a few feet but it felt like a mile. It meant that traffic was beginning to move again. The tip of her hair was brushing against his hand as she tilted her head. She’d pulled it back into ponytail. He preferred it down but wasn’t about to tell her so. Reaching up his fingers latched onto a few strands. That got her attention and she turned to face him. Doing so brought her mouth within inches of his own. His heart began to pound seeing how close she was.
Kagome swallowed the lump in her throat. She could feel his breath against her lips. All she’d have to do was lean forward, he was right there. Her tongue shot out to wet her suddenly dry lips. Would he freak out if she were to close the distance between them? Just because they’d slept together didn’t mean he wanted anything to do with her now. If she made a fool of herself now the rest of her trip would be ruined. She sighed as the hand left her hair to begin rubbing her back. It sent shivers down her spine and she leaned in.
He waited to see what she’d do. He wouldn’t try kissing her and have her flip out in the car. When she leaned forward and stopped right before she found his mouth, he almost sighed in disappointment. The sound of her quick intake of breath was heard as they both waited. Taking the chance he captured her mouth. The touch was light but ignited his senses. The lips were soft and smooth, opening to allow his tongue to glide between them. The kiss was gentle and slow as he explored her mouth. He felt her meet him halfway. Everything around him seemed to disappear as she returned the kiss. The feeling of being light-headed made him almost dizzy as his arms tightened around her.
“Dammit, you could have gotten in there Sis!” The voice broke them apart. She jerked away as Yusuke swore loud enough for the two up front to hear. Kagome felt herself blushing and was thankful they couldn’t see it.
“Shut the hell up Kuwabara, you’re bitching isn’t going to help. Just let her drive.” Yusuke felt like wringing his neck. Dammit, that kiss had been unlike any he’d ever experienced. He was sure she’d been stroking his soul with each swipe of her tongue. Having it rudely interrupted by the baka did nothing for his temper. “Kagome was trying to get some rest. Try staying quiet the rest of the trip.”
Kagome felt the man turn to her and frown. True, she’d been trying to relax but sleeping was the last thing on her mind. What had he just done to her? The kiss had been short but amazing. It had been different from the other night. Shizuru asked if she was okay as both glanced back. Not wanting to cause a scene she quickly responded. “I’m fine, just a little tired. It’s also getting kind of cold.” She couldn’t suppress the shiver that ran down her spine. It had nothing to do with the temperature.
“Oh, here.” Kuwabara unzipped the small bag at his feet. His fingers found the thin material and pulled it out. It wasn’t much but would keep the girl warm. It was kind of stuffy inside to him but he wasn’t a chick. The temperature had dropped outside but he was fine. “This should help some.”
Kagome couldn’t do anything but grab the blanket. Leaning back against him again he helped her spread it out. She wasn’t sure if she should be thankful for the interruption. Settling back down, she got back into her former position. Her lips felt swollen from the kiss. Disappointment still lingered but she couldn’t bring herself to regret it. Was she a fool for enjoying being in the arms of Keiko’s ex?
Yusuke let his hand go back to stroking her back as she snuggled against him. At least Kuwabara hadn’t completely ruined the mood. He’d been pissed if she would have went back into soldier mode. He liked having her where she was. The blanket was pulled completely over her, leaving only her head exposed. Her face was planted in his neck, the hot breath brushing against him. A hand was pressed into his chest. The need to touch her was strong, intensifying the longer she remained against him.
Kagome felt his hand running up her thigh. The heat easily felt through the pants. Her whole body flamed under the touch. Her breath quickened when it came close to her center. Her stomach tightened in anticipation while she remained frozen. Would he really touch her? Did she want him to touch her? The fingers brushed up against her hot core. Gods, how she wanted him to touch her. She called herself a few choice names but didn’t make a sound as the fingers were brought back in contact with her. They pushed up against the folds, that ached beneath the cloth. She could feel the tightening in her as he began to rub and press. Going against all common sense her legs opened wider to allow him better access.
Yusuke groaned into her hair when he was able to cup her fully. Her scent filled his nostrils as he inhaled deeply. The two up front was concentrating on moving along with the traffic. He was suddenly glad that night had fallen. Neither were aware of what was taking place under the blanket. They were speaking in hushed tones, believing his lie about the girl trying to get some rest. He released her long enough to find the edge of the sweats. The elastic was pushed aside as his hand dipped in. He almost groaned aloud feeling the cotton panties blocking his path. Grabbing the seem he pulled it aside, not caring that he felt the material tear.
Kagome buried her face deeper as his fingers ran over her wet folds. Fingers tightened around his waist as the digit found the small bundle of nerves. She kept her eyes closed, unable to focus on anything but the feelings he was causing. The finger stayed on her clit, rubbing until she felt the tension building fast. When she jerked against the hand it left her long enough to push a finger between the fold. It didn’t stop until it was firmly embedded inside her warmth. Her muscles tightened around it, wanting to feel the friction of movement. The hand on her back tightened as she became aware of Shizuru speaking.
Yusuke pulled the finger out slightly to tease, then back in. “She’s sleeping, we’ll wait in the car. I don’t want to wake her.” He spoke loud enough for them both to hear. The vehicle was moving now and they planned to stop and get gas. The girl remained still in his arms but he knew she was aware of everything. His cock strained inside the jeans, feeling the heat coming from the girl. She was so close but might as well been miles away. Adjusting slightly he pushed his middle finger deep inside her. She still felt incredibly tight around him as he pumped the digit. As they pulled into the gas station he applied his thumb. It found the swollen nerve and she gasped.
Kagome didn’t dare open her eyes. He was pulling waves of pleasures from her body. The hand was being extremely gentle and it was driving her insane. She was so close to finding completion but he held off. Each thrust of the finger brushed against her spot. She almost jerked up when the vehicle came to a stop. The hand on her back kept her still. Kuwabara’s voice filled the van as he asked Yusuke if he needed anything from inside. Kagome felt relief when two doors shut leaving them alone.
Yusuke waited until their backs were turned and walking into the busy station. The back windows were tinted so he knew they were safe for a few minutes. He looked down as she lifted her head up to gaze up at him. Without thinking he captured her mouth in a hot kiss. All the pent up passion he was holding in came forth. His tongue stabbed between her lips as he pushed another finger inside. Finally, she began to moan in his mouth. He licked her bottom lip as she began to shake. “Cum for me Kagome, imagine it was me buried deep inside you.”
She felt the tension snap as he spoke. What she wouldn’t give for it to be him. The fingers stretched her as she let it wash over her. His name tumbled off her lips as she trembled in release. His mouth found hers again. This kiss was hot and held a promise. Her body jerked in response. Just as she began to calm down he frowned while looking out.
Yusuke didn’t want to stop where they were but had to. He was aching for release, needing to find it with her. Hearing her moan his name, pulled at his heart strings. His body wanted to claim her. “They are coming back. Do you need to go inside?”
Kagome only nodded as the hand was removed. Taking a few seconds to pull herself together she heard him unlock the door. The cold air blew in as the door opened. It cooled her heated skin but did nothing to calm her nerves. She could feel him hard and thick against her thigh. Looking up into his eyes, she read the message. It wasn’t over. Feeling weak she let him maneuver so she could get out. Her legs felt like rubber as she stood outside. Taking a deep breath she prayed she’d make it to the bathroom without falling on her face.
Kagome felt herself being nudged awake and fought against it. She didn’t want to wake up. The arms around her tightened as a voice filled her ears. Her eyes opened and she remembered where she was. The last thing she recalled was climbing back into the car after going inside the store. Kuwabara had come out with drinks and something to snack on. Declining both, she’d gotten back comfortable. This time she’d sat facing forward and had placed her back against his chest. His arms had wrapped around her, holding her tight. As she gazed out the window she must have fallen asleep.
Looking out the window now she could see the lights shining inside the cabin. Keiko’s car was parked next to them. The door was opened so she could step out. Her legs cramped up as she stood. A hot bath would feel really good. The door opened and the couple came out to greet them. Questions of why they were so late filled the night sky. She took the time to see what she could. The brochure had said the cabin was five bedrooms, with a kitchen, dining area, two baths, and a porch.
Yusuke grabbed his bag, then one of Kagome’s. He placed them beside the tire before digging inside. It found the small purse and her suitcase. She thanked him when he handed her the purse. Giving her a small smile he carried the three things into the cabin. His duffle bag was three times the size as hers but it had all his belongings in it. The smell of wood assaulted his nose along with incense. Looking around he decided the place was really nice. It was really clean too. The door led him into a large living room. Off to the left was the kitchen and dining area. To the right looked to be a hallway, to the rooms?
Kagome stepped in behind him. The place looked to be homey. There was a fire going making it toasty. Walking past him she decided to find a room. The hallway went down a few feet then split off into a T. Three doors were to the left, four to the right. She gave in and went to the right. Footsteps echoed behind her, as he trailed behind. The first door to her left was what she choose. It was across from the bathroom and near the hallway. It opened allowing her to see inside once the light was on. It was small but had a full size bed and a dresser. Clean sheets were already placed on the mattress.
“Guess I’ll take the one next door.” Yusuke deposited the luggage and she jumped. She looked nervous as he spoke. She stood there fidgeting. Giving her a quick nod he walked out of the room to find his own. The bathroom was directly across from her. There was a room next door to hers and the other diagonally across beside the bathroom. As he stepped inside he knew why he’d chosen this one. A door connected both rooms, she was right on the other side. He also didn’t like the idea of Kuwabara being in here. He’d spotted the wooden door and had guessed to where it led. Had she?
Walking over to the bed he tossed his bag onto the mattress. Digging through it he found what he was looking for. What he needed was to go find some food then a hot shower. No need to take a cold one. He could hear her moving around on the other side. He’d be going through that door later as long as she didn’t lock it. Would she?
Kagome grabbed herself some fresh clothes before heading across into the bedroom. Keiko spoke to her as she entered the hallway. Guilt coursed through her veins when the girl came up to her all smiles. It didn’t matter if they’d been broken up for so long. It still felt kind of wrong knowing she was attracted to the girl’s ex. She had been the one to get Keiko to break up with him. Sure she hadn’t held a gun to her head but had told the girl some advice. Without it they’d probably still be together. How could she turn around and go after the same guy she’d told her friend wasn’t good enough? Good enough? She wasn’t so sure anymore. True he probably didn’t have a job. But money wasn’t everything, not to her. She had enough money left from her father she’d be okay. Keiko hadn’t been happy right? So she’d said nothing wrong. Seeing the married couple together they were crazy in love and happy. So why did she feel so bad now? Was it because she had played part in that break up and was now wanting the guy in question?
Did she want a relationship with him? No, that wouldn’t be possible. Out of the sexual department the boy had yet to speak to her. Yelling at her didn’t count. She was surprised he had been nice enough to carry her things in. Then again Keiko had been outside watching. He’d want to appear as Mr. Nice Guy. While her head was telling her it was best to stay away from him her body didn’t want that. It had felt so wonderful being held by him. Should she be a fool and take whatever he had to offer? “The ride wasn’t too bad. Though I need a shower then maybe some thing to eat. They bought some snacks but I think Kuwabara ate all those.”
“Yeah, leave it to him to eat all the food. Well, go ahead and take the shower first. We have are preparing a late dinner now.” Keiko could see the tension around the lines of Kagome’s mouth. Had something happened on the trip here? Shizuru had said she’d been forced to make Kagome sit in Yusuke’s lap. Had he been rude to her or a pervert? The latter wouldn’t shock her. The girl was attractive and Yusuke, well he was Yusuke. The door opened to his room and she glanced over giving him a hard stare.
“What?” He caught the look being sent his way. What the hell had he done to receive such a look? He doubted Kagome had told the girl what had occurred between them. Maybe Keiko was just in a pissy mood. That goodie goodie man of hers not doing the job? Not his problem, his eyes flickered to the other girl; she was. She’d become one since he’d lain eyes on her at that church. His stomach growled reminding him of why he’d come out. “When’s dinner?”
Kagome walked inside the bathroom needing to get away from those intense brown eyes. She’d almost accuse them of being puppy eyes but they belonged to no one timid and shy. He was more like a wolf stalking her. Always in the back of her thoughts, ready to spring if she let her guard down. The shower was very small, she was glad her ass wasn’t any bigger. How the hell did they expect her to shave? Groaning she went to work removing her clothes. When she got to her panties she had the urge to go through them in his face. They were ruined! He was going to buy her some more. Ruining her under garments was becoming a habit of his. Soon she was naked except for the rosary wrapped around her slender throat. It was very small but much like Inuyasha’s. It had been made by Keade before returning to her time.
That night Inuyasha had come to her after it was all over. Within minutes he’d broken her heart and left her alone. Sango had tried to comfort her as she walked back into Keade’s crying. The hanyou had said his piece. He didn’t want to risk being with her. With the jewel returned to her body he demanded that she return home where she’d be safe. Away from him. She’d waited two days for him to return and take back the hurtful words. The third morning she’d asked Keade about protecting the jewel in her time without having Inuyasha there. The houshi and miko had went to work creating a rosary strong enough to hide the power contained within the jewel. Before it had been placed on her they had explained the effects. Not only would it stop the jewel’s presence but her natural powers as well. The trick was it was using her powers to work. So she couldn’t sense anything nor would anyone be able to sense her power or that of the jewel. It made sense to her. If they all thought her to be just another normal human then she wouldn’t have to worry about the jewel being hunted.
Two years the ward had worked, it was her life saver. She couldn’t imagine the horror of the Shikon being brought up once more. Running around play the super hero didn’t sit well with her any longer. That part of her life was over now, buried with the silly girl she had once been. It didn’t do well to dwell on such things. Her hand went up to land on the precious necklace. Not once had she taken it off. It would remain on her until the day she died. Only the power of her soul could remove it. No need to worry about it breaking due to an accident.
Yusuke was sitting at the table listening to Kuwabara and Ahiko talk about business. The subject was boring and almost alien to him. Shizuru and Keiko were cooking not far away. His eyes roamed the hall waiting for her to get out. He needed a shower. Shizuru said she was going next but he didn’t mind waiting. It would give him time to eat dinner. He stifled a yawn as he leaned back in the chair. He smiled remembering the way she’d slept so soundly in them. Her tiny hand had clenched his shirt as she whimpered in her sleep. He wondered what it was she dreamed about.
As the settings were being placed the girl came out wearing a long white t-shirt and pajama shorts. Nothing sexy about the choice in clothing but he found it appealing on her just the same. She was using a towel to dry her hair as she walked into the living room. His eyes followed her every move until she went back into the bathroom. When she re-emerged is was with the hair pulled back.
“Time to eat.” Kuwabara waited for everyone to sit down before grabbing the plate of sliced vegetables. He didn’t know about everyone else but he was starving. He doubted Urameshi had noticed how long the trip took while necking with the girl. The man should be ashamed of himself, making a move on Keiko’s friend. He wasn’t stupid like everyone thought, he’d seen the way the man had been holding her. The bastard had looked like a cat that had just found a bowl of cream. Yeah, he’d been getting off on the girl sitting in his lap. Not that he could blame him, the girl was really pretty. Wasn’t as nice as his Yukina but attractive. He just hoped Urameshi knew what he was doing.
Kagome took the food offered to her. Not being too hungry she only took small portions. If she ate like the three men around the table she’d have a wide ass. It wasn’t that small as is, she’d waddle if she ate that much at one sitting. But the men happily piled the food on as if they hadn’t eaten in months. Thankfully Kuwabara was sitting between her and Yusuke. She didn’t think she could handle sitting next to him right now. Not when her emotions were still running rampant. Just knowing he was there was causing havoc. Maybe one day soon she’d figure out what it was about him that was drawing her to him. Like a moth to the flame, she felt her soul being tugged. “Thanks.” She took the glass of tea Keiko pushed her way.
“So what kind of necklace is that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without it.” Kuwabara turned his attention to the girl next to him. His hand reached out to touch the strange wear. As his fingers landed on the small beads he felt an something pricking his fingers. Frowning he let go. Where did it come from. It wasn’t gold or the fancy stuff his sister liked to wear.
“Oh, it’s a rosary. I’ve had it for a while now. My family comes from a long line of houshi. I’ll just say it’s suppose to protect me from harm.” Kagome wiped her mouth and sighed. That was the understatement of the year. It kept her from being hunted down like a dog. It kept her sane as well. Fighting over the jewel that refused to leave her wasn’t how she wanted to spend her life. One day she wanted a husband and family of her own. Someone to cherish and hold through out the night. She wasn’t that much different from Kikyou. The woman had wanted a normal life, so did she. Seemed the jewel liked to curse the women that held it in their possession.
“Really?” Ahiko stared at the plain piece and nodded. “In my studies I’ve read many old text about mystical powers. I’m intrigued by the ancient folklore about the past. My family was also of the houshi line but it died out over a century ago. My grandfather use to tell me tales though. Of a great ancestor of mine. Said he was a great man that helped save the world against a great evil. Course, my mother didn’t believe in such things but I always listened intently. He use to speak of things called youkai, my mother called them monsters. Said they once roamed the land and were powerful. My ancestor fought against them, even married his wife that was said to be a hunter of these things. I’m not sure how much of that is true. If I remember correctly they fought over an artifact of great value to many. A pearl or jewel of some sort, that many coveted. Let me see if I can remember what it was called. Shi... give me a minute.”
“Shikon no Tama,” Kagome finished it for him. It was a name she’d never forget. How the hell could she when the thing was firmly implanted in her side. Staring up at his face she had to wonder if he was from someone she knew. Two people that she had held dear to her heart. She could never tell them that but was nice to know someone from that line. “That class of people were known as the Tiajiya, youkia exterminators. The clan was destroyed by one that wanted the jewel for his own. They had several of the shards within the village.”
“Yeah, that’s how the tale went but how did you know? Wait never mind I’m sure your grandfather must know all about it then. Is he into all the houshi stuff.” He placed his fork on the table and listened intently. Maybe he’d be able to complain about his family with someone that could understand. His father had believed it all but hadn’t been allowed to talk about it in front of his mother.
“Hell yes, Gramps is most definitely into all of it. He swears his wards are the best but I know better. He told me the tale of the Shikon years ago. Believe me I know the story well.” Kagome took a sip of her tea. Too well for her liking since she had lived it. Should she tell him that most likely it had been his ancestor that had made this rosary around her neck? They’d start searching her room for whatever liquor she had stashed. No one believed in youkai in this era. They were a thing of the past.
“Yes, then can you fill me in on a few parts that I found confusing. Maybe my father just had it wrong. If you don’t mind of course, I’m sure we are boring the others.” He looked to his wife who had an odd look on her face. Everyone was staring at them with the same look. Well just because they didn’t believe in the super-natural. He for one believed in ghosts and strange things happened due to some unknown force. When Kagome smiled and nodded he felt elated. “Okay, I was always told that when my ancestor was around that the jewel had been previously burned with it’s first guardian. The miko that had protected it died at her lover’s hand and then requested it to be burned. So, how did it come back fifty years later to be shattered?”
ME! Kagome groaned at the question. She couldn’t answer that way. Hell how could she answer? Best to watch what she said. “Well the miko was named Kikyou and when the jewel was burned with her body it came back in her reincarnation. The jewel was reformed in this girl’s body. One day she was attacked by a youkai that sensed it. She was the one that shattered the jewel the day after it was ripped out of her side.” Bloody hell, and did it hurt. She could still remember that bitch biting down on her like she was born in a barn.
“Interesting but that don’t fit in with what I was told. My dad always said the girl to be the jewel’s next guardian had come from the future. But we all know time travel isn’t possible.” He watched her face turn white before she began choking on the tea. Kuwabara jumped up to start pounding her on the back.
Kagome felt the tears well in her eyes as she fought to breath around the drink. She was going to kill that pervert. The fucker could have left that part out in his tales to his family. Sango must have beat him over the head one time too many. Her lungs stung along with her back as he pounded on her. “Stop, you are breaking my spine.”
She gagged but was able to breath. Everyone stared as her face turned beet red. That could have gone over more smoothly. His words had caught her completely off guard. She hadn’t been expecting that. Damn if only he knew how wrong he was. Seemed Miroku had been smart enough to leave the well out of his stories. Probably because he didn’t want his kids jumping in and breaking their necks trying to travel through time. She could be thankful for that. “Sorry, it went down the wrong tube.”
Seeing that she was okay he continued. “Yes, as I was saying this girl was supposed to be from the future. Talk was of her strange behavior and dress. There is even an old drawing hanging on my grandfather’s wall. It was one he would have drawn but it greatly resembles a bike. He drew it to show his kids one of the strange things the girl had shown him. So tell me do you believe that any of it could be true. If we are to believe such tales then it would mean that the girl was born in this era. Possibly still alive now.”
“No, I’m not so sure about that now.” Kagome didn’t want to panic but he was waving his hands while talking; clearing getting into the topic. Wow, he really was into history and the super-natural. Everyone else was still listening, she’d swear she heard Yusuke snicker. Someone like him wouldn’t believe in that type of thing. If he couldn’t play it on a machine it wasn’t real. “If we were to believe in the time travel then we’d have to believe in these youkai.”
“Well, I don’t know about monsters but dinner was real good.” Kuwabara belched loudly to emphasis the point. Rubbing his stomach he tried to change the subject. The didn’t need Kagome and Ahiko to learn that they did exist and one was sitting at the table with them.
Kagome was glad for the reprieve. “Yes, I think I’m going to call it a night and get some sleep.” Chairs were pushed back as they began cleaning up the dishes. Keiko and Shizuru told Yusuke to go ahead and take the shower while they cleaned. Seeing her chance to escape she bid them all a goodnight. No one stopped her as she made her way to the dark room.
An hour later she began dozing off. The bed was kind of hard but would do. Hugging the pillow she had to will herself to fall asleep. She should be tired but was having trouble not thinking. Chances were she had been sitting at the table with Miroku and Sango’s descendant. She thought to ask him what of the tales of the hanyou that had traveled with them but didn’t want to know. Inuyasha was in the past, best to leave him there. She didn’t want to know of his fate. It was better if she pictured him alive and well.
Just as her eyes closed, she heard the sound of a door opening. Instantly alert she scanned the room. There was light shining under the door from the hallway. It allowed her to see the man coming in from the joint room. Groaning she turned back over. Maybe he’d go away if she ignored him. She didn’t know if she could take his hands on her. If he touched her she knew where it would lead.
Her body came to life at the thought. ‘Great, I’m turning into a slut.’ She should be yelling at him to get out. That would bring the others in then he’d have to explain what he was doing there. She should have known he’d be making an appearance. His eyes had spoken volumes. Her body responded as he walked over to the bed. There was no reason for him to be here. As the bed tipped under his weight she sighed. As her mind screamed for him to get out she could still feel his fingers on her. The image was back in full force, informing her just why she wouldn’t be sending him away. Despite knowing it was wrong she wanted it to happen. It made her wrong in many ways but should she even care now? She’d given up everything in the past and had been left with nothing. Was it wrong for her to take the pleasure he was offering? The ache had already returned between her legs knowing what was to come.
Yusuke was relieved when she didn’t tell him to get the hell out. It had taken half an hour for him to get up the courage to open that door. Telling himself he was a baka for wanting to come in here and seduce Keiko’s friend. That’s exactly what he wanted to do. Raizen’s words came back to haunt him. His ancestor had only spent one night with the woman that had captured his heart. ‘I told you, it was her eyes.’ Is this the feeling that had drove the man to slowly die over a woman? Right before the man had died he had asking Yusuke if he’d ever been in love. His answer had been, ‘I guess.’ What an idiot he’d been. The dying man had been trying to explain how one emotion could consume the soul. Was that emotion the same one that had filled him since seeing the girl standing there? He barely knew anything about her but couldn’t stop thinking about her.
Kagome felt the hand land on her side as he came to rest next to her. “You’re naked!” The accusation came out in a harsh whisper. His body was pressed into her, as they spooned. Nothing but her clothes separated them. The hard shaft was pressing against the swell of her ass. It throbbed as she shifted. The hands wasted no time in removing the bottoms along with her panties. She squeaked as the panties were pulled down. At least he didn’t tear them this time. His mouth landed on the shell of her ear. The hot tongue began to lick the sensitive skin.
The hips in front of him pushed back for more contact. He’d been planning on coming in here and take his time with her. It wasn’t working out that way. Moisture was dripping out the tip of his sex in anticipation. His fingers found the wet folds as she picked the leg up. The tension from the ride was back in force, reminding him of the need to cum. Not wanting to rush things he tried to pull away from her. Her hand came around to grab his hip and pull him back towards her.
Kagome felt the loss of contact. The hot skin had melted against her setting her own on fire. When he yanked away she felt cheated. Her hand snaked out to pull him back wanting to keep him close. The tip rubbed against her ass as his hand pulled the top leg up and over his. A large hand held onto her hip as he thrust forward. The tip found her entrance and forced it’s way inside her tight passage. There was no pain this time just the feeling of him filling her. How could she even imagine that his fingers were him? The two didn’t compare as he brought his hips closer to her.
Yusuke heard the soft growl echoing in his chest as he slid deeper inside. Every nerve in his body seemed to be located in his groin. She held him so tight, the feeling caused the blood to heat up. Remembering she wasn’t used to him yet, he took his time. Waiting until he was fully embedded before pulling back out. The return thrust was just as slow. The walls flexed around him but let him enter without trouble. Each entry was quicker than the last.
Kagome moaned at the sweet friction. Using her elbow as leverage she began to push back to meet each thrust. It brought him deeper, striking against her spot. She couldn’t suppress the noises coming from her throat as he sped up. The bed began to rock as he slammed against her bringing her to the point of completion. The tension snapped the same time he gave a few final pumps. She felt him pulsing inside as she let the waves roll to a stop.
~~~~ Four days later~~~~
Kagome leaned back against the plastic chair. The night was very beautiful, a perfect night for a camp fire. The week had gone smoothly mostly. If she didn’t count her feelings and the late night visits. The others were enjoying themselves. Activities were enjoyed daily. Yesterday they had cooked out and made a night of watching horror movies. Today had been another cook out but the night was spent around a large camp fire. Talking went around the small space.
Keiko was sitting on Ahiko’s lap, Shizuru was stretched out on a lawn chair, Kuwabara and Yusuke were sharing a log that had been pulled from the woods. Kagome had planted herself in the other lawn chair. Now relaxing with her eyes closed she spoke up whenever she chose to. The topic now was one of history. It was a touchy subject for her so she remained silent. The only bright spot was that Yusuke hadn’t cursed her out again. It had happened the second day of the trip. He’d already came to her room twice, each time they’d slept together. She knew she should tell him no but couldn’t bring herself to turn him away.
They’d been in the kitchen doing the dishes. Her feelings had been raw and her temper on edge. She’d started feeling used due to his attitude during the day. He’d leave right after they were done. During the day he wouldn’t speak to her. Hell he wouldn’t even look in her direction. It was as if she didn’t exist until he felt like getting a nut. She was beginning to hate herself for giving into him. So preoccupied with her thoughts she sliced her finger open with the steak knife she’d been washing. Cursing she yanked her hand out of the water. He’d reached for the wounded finger but she pulled away claiming to be fine. Something had zipped past her head. The sound of glass shattering echoed through the kitchen. A broken plate lay in pieces not far from them. She’d stared in shock that he’d thrown it past her. Had he been aiming for her head? His tirade had begun as she stood in silence.
His words echoed through her mind, “You stupid bitch. I was just seeing if you were okay. You don’t have to be so uptight. It’s not like I want to fucking touch you. Finish the dishes yourself. If Keiko asks just tell her I can’t stand to be around you, she’ll understand.” Kagome hadn’t been able to stop the tears that began to fall. It hurt to hear him say what she already knew in her heart. Running to the bathroom she locked the door and let herself cry. The last time she’d cried had been the day she returned home. The pain this time was just as intense. It hurt knowing she couldn’t turn him away but he wanted nothing more from her. Since then he hadn’t come near her except at night. Then the sex was still passionate but rough. Her body craved his touch, no matter how it was delivered.
She let her eyes land on him for a quick second before looking away. He was once again staring at Keiko with a tender look in his eyes. What she wouldn’t give to have him look at her with just a small amount of those emotions. She’d seen him glance her way once as they’d sat down around the fire and wished she hadn’t. Putting her chair down she glanced back quickly and he’d been standing there watching her. There was only one thing could be said about the emotions swirling. It was so strong there was only one word for it; hate. He was looking at her with disgust and hatred. For a second she wanted to step aside and see if someone else had caught his attention. Glancing around no one else was near. That look had been solely for her alone.
Closing her eyes she tried to think about something else. Anything to keep her mind from wondering to the man sitting across the fire. Her head snapped to the side as Shizuru suddenly sat up in the seat. The girl was looking out into the night. Kagome turned in that direction but couldn’t see anything.
“Something’s wrong.” She couldn’t see anything but she knew better than to ignore her instincts. Something was out there. It felt like something dangerous was headed straight towards them. Kuwabara was seated next to her with Yusuke on the other side. Keiko was sitting on the seat Ahiko had just vacated to walk inside.
Kagome sat up but didn’t move. Yusuke and Kuwabara tensed up as well. She cursed under her breath, knowing she wouldn’t detect anything. Not with the ward subduing her powers. Should she try to make it to the house? It was only about forty feet away. Just as she began to stand, there was a loud hissing sound. She faintly heard the others scream. Her head turned to see Yusuke quickly grab Keiko then he was gone. Kuwabara and Shizuru were nowhere in sight as the ground around her exploded.
Her ears rang as waves of pain washed over her. Something hot was washing over her in waves. She felt herself collapse as dust covered her sight. Her limbs screamed as she hit the ground. Another blast shook around her bringing more pain. Something warm gushed from her mouth as she tried to cry out. What was happening to her? Loud noise echoed around her with screaming but it all seemed far away. Vision blurred as her head began to swim. She took a deep breath feeling another wave of pain hit her in the back. Just as her world began to black out she felt someone roughly jerk her up by the edge of her jeans.
Kuwabara grabbed Yusuke’s arm as another series of blast was sent their way. Keiko and Shizuru hid behind them. If the boy ran out there it would leave the girl uncovered. He couldn’t protect them alone. As things were he was barely able to keep the blasts from knocking him down. They slammed into him but he ignored the pain. Yusuke’s power began to flare as the efforts of their attackers increased. Nothing could be seen in the distance but clouds of dirt. He knew the other girl was still out there. In his haste he’d only grabbed his sister before they began. Silently he prayed she was okay.
Yusuke shook off the hand holding him. Dammit, if he left then the blasts would surely get past Kuwabara’s weak shielding. It would mean leaving Keiko and Shizuru to be harmed, if not killed. He heard himself calling out but the girl didn’t answer him. His eyes burned as the blasts finally began to recede. Just as quick as they’d begun they stopped. Swearing he scanned the area. The culprits were running away at a fast speed. “They’re gone.”
“KAGOME!” Shizuru pushed past her brother and ran towards the barely recognizable campfire. Ahiko came rushing out of the house to wrap his arms around Keiko. She could feel great sadness and pain as she entered the now vacant area. The chairs were torn apart, nothing much left to him. Kagome had been left here. Reaching down she wiped the dark fluid coating a piece of separated plastic. Yusuke and Kuwabara were beside her staring off into the woods. “It’s blood.”
Kagome felt herself being roughly tossed around like a sack of potatoes. Her body ached like she’d been run over by Gramp’s electronic wheelchair. As she tried to move she felt it consume her. Never mind a truck had plowed into her. She hoped they had insurance. A strange scent filled her nose. It was strong like copper but stronger. Groaning she tried to focus her mind. She didn’t remember taking a stroll down main street in the middle of rush hour. Her mind brought up a picture of Yusuke standing up suddenly then grabbing Keiko around the waist.
‘Yes, I was standing there then the pain had begun. Where had the others gone? Yusuke grabbed Keiko then he was gone. Wait a minute they left me there! Those assholes had moved when Shizuru said something was wrong. Nice to know how important I am. Lucky for me, I don’t need them to save me. But I feel like hell and who the fuck has me?’ Her body still refused to move as she was tossed onto the ground. There was bickering around her.
“I say we eat the bitch now. We shouldn’t wait until we reach the Makai. We’ve come this far, let’s get it over with. I doubt any of those human scum will come after us. We should have grabbed some of the others. This girl is hardly a meal.”
What?! They were going to eat her? Like hell they would. They should have grabbed one of the others if they wanted lunch. That’s right they were pulled to safety, only she’d been left to defend herself. Right good job she was doing of it too.
“I say we wait and the others agree. Don’t play ignorant, we saw who was at that camp. That was Raizen’s heir standing there. We will be lucky to make it to the Makai before he hunts us down. Don’t be a fool and underestimate him. We will press on, I refuse to die in this stinking place.”
Kagome wondered who this Raizen guy was. They sounded scared of him. Good, she hoped he beat their ass for nuking her like a frozen dinner. Not likely to happen at this rate. Opening her eyes she saw her surroundings. She was sure she felt her limbs tingling the longer she stayed on the ground. Maybe she was slowly bleeding to death and it was her nerves giving out. Well as long as they didn’t stick an apple in her mouth.
“You can wait if you want, that boy isn’t coming. We all saw him grab his human female. This girl means nothing to him. They no doubt have assumed her dead by now. There is no need for them to search and I’m starving. I haven’t eaten in over three years.”
She sighed at the words. ‘Hey that might be true buddy but you didn’t have to point it out.’ Okay, they all got it. She’d been the one left standing there like a duck in the shooting range. ‘Rub salt in the wounds while you are at it pal.’
“Fine, but the first signs of anyone coming we leave.”
NO! They didn’t want to eat her now. Kagome felt herself begin to panic as her arms twitched. She didn’t want to be some asshole’s meal. Make that a few assholes, about ten. All of them were ugly youkai with sharp fangs. This was going to hurt. She doubted they’d be kind of enough to kill her before munching down. This couldn’t be good. Her hand was finally about to move as they prepared a fire. It was blazing within minutes as one youkai began sharpening his blade. Fuckers were going to cut her up while she was still alive. The small hand was up to her breast, lingering over the small beads. Wrapping bloody fingers around the rosary she prayed. She didn’t have the strength to remove it.
The man stood up and began walking her way. Drool was hanging out the side of his mouth as he licked his lips. She almost puked at the image. Focusing she tried to tap into the power lurking just below the surface. The closer she came she felt frantic. The power was there she could feel it stirring as she gripped the rosary. Taking a deep breath she began to speak the small incantation that would allow her to tap into the dormant power.
The youkai paused as the girl spoke. The hairs stood up on end as the words washed over him. Was she some kind of witch. Whatever she was, she was about to be dead. Bringing the sword up he held it over her head. Yelling he swung the blade down in a swift arch. Just as it hit her flesh, light shot around him. Searing pain made him drop the blade as he screamed in pain.
Kagome felt it erupt around her as she saw her death. Seconds passed as it was released. The warm feeling washing over her. It felt like coming home after a long journey. That part of herself that had been long denied. Tears streamed down her face as the shouts began to silence leaving her alone.
Several minutes passed as nothing but an owl hooted. The woods sounded empty as she began to calm down. Her body still ached but she was no longer afraid of dying. She showed them bastards. The feeling began to return to her limbs. Wiping the bangs out of her eyes, she gagged when she ended up coating her face with blood. “Disgusting.”
How bad had she been injured? Besides feeling sore and weak she didn’t feel anymore pain. Neither were they. The thought made her smile. Shaking, she managed to get to her feet. Her clothes were a mess, shredded in some places. There was a large hole in her back. Dammit this had been one of her favorite sweaters. The sticky feeling of blood clung to many places. There was no doubt that it was all hers. They had tried to blow her into many pieces back there. Groaning she took a few steps forward. She could do this.
The cold air was seeping into her skin as she walked. Where she had no idea. Being out of it for the most part she had no idea which direction they’d gone. Looking up she spotted the moon and thought. It had been pointing to the east from the camp. Turning direction she went the direction she assumed the place was. Maybe she could find help somewhere. There had to be something out here in the middle of the woods. She hadn’t survived that to die now. No, she was a fighter and the guardian of the Shikon; this was a cake walk.
Dawn was rising as she exited the small patch of woods. Her body was on it’s last amount of energy. She was going to collapse soon if she didn’t stop. Seeing the cabin in the distance she almost screamed in joy. Three people were standing on the porch as she left the safety of the trees. Yes, she’d made it back safely. Her legs picked up speed as she ran. The first thing she was doing was take a bath. Hell yes, that sounded like heaven. She stumbled along and was halfway there before they spotted her.
Shizuru sensed something coming and turned. Was it Yusuke or Kuzuma? Seeing the stumbling figure making it’s way towards them she broke out in a dead run. Her heart pounded as she covered the distance. Keiko and Ahiko were on her heels as they met the girl. She caught her as the girl pitched forward. “You’re okay, thank the Gods.”
Kagome fell in her arms. Relief making her body sag. Yeah, she was just fine. Tired, bloody and smelt like death warmed over but alive. No thanks to anyone else but she was glad she’d been able to save herself. The girl holding her began to cry. Keiko threw her arms around them. “I’m fine. I showed them how it felt to be toasted.”
Keiko sat the table and stared at her husband. They were both pondering the same questions. Though she had a better clue as to what was going on. Yusuke and Kuwabara still hadn’t returned from their search. She had no way to inform them that the girl had returned. Surprisingly she was unharmed. That wasn’t right though. The bloody clothes were laying on the table between them. Yet when they’d carried her into the house and cleaned her up, not a scratch had been on her. Yet there had been blood all over the wreckage outside. It didn’t matter that they all thought her to be dead Yusuke had taken off to find her. Kuwabara had went with him just in case. Her best friend and ex had been upset finding the girl gone. She’d never seen that look of anguish cross his face.
They had spoken on what to do once they guys returned. All expecting to have to deal with Kagome’s death. Shizuru said she’d never seen him like that either. Not even when they all believed that Tuguro had killed Kuzuma. The only thing Yusuke had said before taking off was “I killed her.” Keiko felt guilt wash over her knowing Yusuke had grabbed her. Kuwabara blamed himself because he’d been closer to her. There had been no way for Yusuke to grab her and Kagome both and get out of there in time. Without realizing it he’d made his choice. She sighed when Shizuru came back to sit down. “How is she?”
“Fine but sleeping. She has to be exhausted. I don’t get it, I don’t sense anything from her. She appears no more special than me or you. There is blood all over her clothes. Her blood is still out there on the fucking furniture and ground. How the hell did she come back unharmed and alive? Yusuke and Kuwabara obviously didn’t save her.” Shizuru leaned back and felt the lack of sleep hitting. Not that she would have been able to sleep. Now they had to wait for the guys to get back. It was already after noon, Kagome was sleeping peacefully.
Keiko jumped up when the door suddenly opened and Kuwabara came in. Yusuke was trailing behind him. Neither looked happy and both tired. She sighed in relief seeing them both safe. They paused seeing them waiting. Keiko frowned and glanced towards the clothes laying on the table. She heard Yusuke’s intake of breath, “We found her.”
Shizuru frowned and thought of smacking Keiko. The boy almost crumpled to the floor at the statement. The bloody clothes couldn’t look good. Sometimes she didn’t think Keiko was as bright as everyone believed her to be. Seeing him about to break down she shouted, “She’s alive. She’s fine and sleeping in her room. She wandered back here after dawn.”
Kuwabara moved aside as he pushed past and left the kitchen heading straight for the rooms. They had searched all night for signs. After daybreak they’d found what looked to be a camp. Nothing had remained but several piles of ash. A sword had been laying next to some bloody spots. They had assumed the worst. “She’s really okay?”
“More than that, she doesn’t have a scratch on her.” Shizuru lit a cigarette and picked up the clothes. They were starting to harden as the blood dried. They all had a few questions for the girl once she woke up.
Kagome blinked several times before coming fully awake. The sound of crickets chirping filled her ears. The smell of food hit her nostrils and she realized she was very hungry. Stretching she felt the soreness of her muscles but she ignored it. Looking around the room a small candle was lit but the lights were turned off. She was alone. What had she been expecting? Yusuke? Yes, she’d fallen asleep hoping he’d be there when she woke up.
Climbing out of bed she padded across the room in her pajamas. Ignoring the state of her hair she opened the door and walked out. The talking ceased as she stepped out into the light. No one spoke until she stepped into the living room. Everyone was sitting around the living room except Ahiko. The man was in the kitchen doing dishes. Trying hard she put on a smile. ‘Oh boy, here it comes.’
“How are you feeling?” Keiko returned the smile. She was just glad to see her safe. It had pained her to even consider the girl to be lost. Hope was the one thing that had kept her from breaking down. And knowing what it would do to Yusuke. She knew the boy too well for her own good. She’d had to watch the glances he’d kept sending Kagome’s way. All week he’d been acting indifferent when he thought anyone was paying attention but she wasn’t fooled. She’d seen the longing in his eyes, the lust. When had he fallen for the girl? She wasn’t going to get upset about it. She knew they hadn’t messed around while they were together. Hell two years had passed and they weren’t a couple. So it had to be recent. It suited her fine. Kagome was a wonderful person, maybe she could make Yusuke happy.
“I’m still a little tired but feel fine. Don’t remember much.” She hoped that would stop any questions from coming. Pretend ignorance, that was a good plan. Her eyes flickered over them before landing on him. He had his arms thrown back cradling his head while glaring in her direction. He almost looked pissed when she said she was fine. Had the asshole hoped she’d die out there? Where had he been when she arrived? Out buying beer to celebrate? Well she wasn’t about to roll over and die to make him happy. She survived worse than that before and would continue to.
“You’re fine! Me and Kuwabara were out all night looking for you and you’re fine. You come strolling back in here without so much as a scratch on you. What’s with all the fucking blood on your clothes? Did you smear it on yourself to make us worry? Is that how you get your kicks? By worrying others?” Yusuke ignored Keiko as she yelled at him. The girl his anger was directed at flinched but it made him feel better. “I searched for your ass thinking you were dying if not dead. Next time do me a favor and don’t bother returning. I don’t like wasting my time, so you can try to gain attention.”
“Yusuke, that’s enough!” Keiko’s slapped him hard across the face but he didn’t flinch. His eyes never left the trembling girl.
“Fuck enough. I bet she was never even fucking taken. Those bastards probably hit one of their own men. She probably wallowed in the blood and hid until morning. No human could have bled that much and walked back just fine. Not to mention escape from about a dozen youkai. The bitch was probably laughing while we searched for her. Anything to make herself feel special. Next time I hope they kill her where she stands so I don’t have to waste my time looking for her corpse..”
Kagome felt like her heart had been ripped out and kicked around the room. She didn’t need him to say it to know he didn’t care whether she lived or died. The pain of hearing it chilled her. She willed herself not to break down and cry. Why bother defending herself. He wouldn’t believe anything she had to say. No, he believed the worst of her. Like she’d be the type of person to play that kind of game. He might not give a damn about her but Keiko did. She wouldn’t worry her friend for no reason. Would he have been happier to find her corpse laying there. Hell, he wouldn’t have found a corpse if she hadn’t saved herself. She’d have been a turd before he’d bothered to try and save her.
Ahiko walked into the room and sighed. The boy really had no tact and was stupid to boot. Why didn’t he just kiss the girl and tell her how relieved he was to see that she was fine? The poor bastard had been beside himself thinking her gone. Since returning they’d had to drag him out the room so the girl could sleep. He hadn’t wanted to leave her side, now would he have acted that way if he didn’t care? “I don’t think that’s what happened at all. I think we all know what happened. We were attacked by youkai for some strange reason. If Kagome had been an average person she’d be dead. There is only one thing I want to know. How did you do it?”
“Do what?” Kagome frowned unsure of what he was asking. Did he want to know how she’d escaped or healed herself or both? She flinched feeling Yusuke’s eyes burning into her. At least someone didn’t think she was a nasty bitch.
“How did you manage to travel back and forth through time? Don’t try to deny it Kagome. I see it in your eyes, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You forget I listen intently to things that catch my attention.” Seeing her fallen expression he knew he was right but wouldn’t admit it just yet. “Would you like to know something. You were the first girl I had a crush on in high school. Hojo pointed you out to me one day. He went on about how sick you were and how much he liked you. Something about you drew me then. I felt as if I knew you. I told myself I had seen you somewhere before but I couldn’t place it. Now, I know. My ancestor drew one more etching, it was a likeness of the miko that once traveled with him in his quest to complete the Shikon no Tama. That girl was you. Tell me I’m wrong or tell me his name.”
She felt a heavy weight being pushed down on her chest. Should she admit to it and tell them what she really was? Most of them were her friends, people she should trust but it meant reliving her past; remembering. As she gazed up into his eyes she answered, “His name was Miroku and her name was Sango. Together we traveled with the hanyou Inuyasha and a kitsune cub named Shippou. The youkai we fought against was known as Naraku.”
“How did you travel?” Ahiko felt relieved knowing he’d been right, it had been a wild guess but had payed off. It all made sense to him, the stories as a child. This girl had been the one to complete the jewel and save his bloodline. If it hadn’t been for her he wouldn’t have been born.
“The well on my family’s shrine. It was made from the Goshinboku, the Tree of Time.” Hugging herself, she felt the chill creeping along her spine. It always came when she thought about the past. It was still painful for her to leave that all behind. She was still going through pain but caused by her own stupidity.
“My family always said that this jewel returned to the girl in which it had been reborn. Prove it Kagome, where is the jewel?” His eyes widened but he had to ask. It meant knowing that everything he’d believed been had been correct. He hadn’t been a fool for accepting his family’s history as fact.
Knowing she was taking a chance she reached up and undid the clasp that held the rosary in place. The magic pulsed as it was undone. Her hand fell to her side as the power washed over her small frame. It almost stunned her feeling it in full force. Yes, this was who she was. The Guardian of the Shikon. It almost made her smile feeling the power of the jewel, its presence was comforting. “In me. After defeating Naraku it returned to me where it belongs. This is who I am. This should answer the questions on how I survived and why I was no longer wounded. I used my own power.”
“That’s fucking insane.” Kuwabara could feel the power coming off the girl. She sighed and put the rosary back around her neck. Just as quick as it had appeared all traces of the power was demolished. He’d never felt anything like it before. He’d always thought Urameshi was impressive.
Kagome snapped it back and felt the power be pushed back down. It was still for the best that it was kept hidden. But now they knew the truth and so did she. For those few seconds she’d felt something she hadn’t in years; a youkai aura. It had been coming in front of her. It was rather impressive and had been coming from Yusuke. That’s how he was able to snatch Keiko out the way so fast, he wasn’t human. She’d also felt some human in there but he wasn’t one. Fate had been cruel to allow her to fall in love with another hanyou. History was repeating itself. “I am the reincarnation of the miko Kikyou. It was I that shattered the jewel. I began my journey at the age of fifteen.”
“So, you’re like a holy chick?” Shizuru smiled. So there had been more to her than what they saw. “Think I’ll have myself a beer. Why don’t you sit down and tell us about it.”
Kagome felt a hand on her shoulder urging her to take seat. Ahiko nodded and motioned towards the couch. She wasn’t sure what she could tell them. Her eyes flickered over Yusuke who was now staring at the floor. Before she could take a step forward, he marched past them and out of the cabin. Guess he didn’t want to hear what she had to say. Sitting down on the couch in the same spot he’d vacated she began to speak.
~~~~ Two weeks later~~~~
Kagome put the last plate in the dishwasher before turning it on. It was something to occupy her mind. Anything to keep it off of Yusuke. Keiko had just left after having dinner. Plans had been made for them to have breakfast in the morning. The girl seemed hell bent on cheering her up. How could anyone help with the hollow ache in her heart? No, there wasn’t anything to be done. Time was the only friend she had. She’d forget about him, just like Inuyasha. Keiko had come out and asked her if she had feelings for the boy.
It didn’t matter, so she’d been honest about it. She was in love with him but the feelings weren’t returned. Keiko said he was like that. He was emotionally constipated. Kagome didn’t want to get between the two by telling her the truth. That they’d slept together a few times. They’d left the next day for home. Yusuke had ridden with Keiko on the way back. She knew it was because he didn’t want to be near her. He’d made that clear. That night she’d found him outside looking up into the sky. Wanting to apologize about making him worry for nothing, she’d sought him out. He plain out told her it didn’t matter, she didn’t matter.
The doorbell rang and she glanced at the clock. It was after nine already, who’d be coming by this late? Wiping her hands dry she called out and walked towards the door. Making sure the chain was on she cracked the door. Her heart dropped seeing Yusuke standing there head bent. “Yusuke?”
“Hey, can we talk?” He peered up through the crack. Seeing her brought back all the reasons he was doing this. This was the right thing to do. The door opened to allow him in. Why the hell was he so nervous? Because he didn’t want to do this but knew he had to. It was time for him to move on. He didn’t belong here.
Kagome let him in. What would bring him to her door? He hadn’t spoken to her since that night. Unsure of what to do she backed up and waited for him to speak. Her heart ached to hold him. She was being stupid again. The need to feel his arms around her nagged as she chewed on her bottom lip. “What do you want to talk about?”
“I’m leaving in the morning. I’m sure you know by now that I’m mostly youkai. I have my own story but don’t have the time to share it. I guess one reason I couldn’t make Keiko happy is because I wasn’t happy here. I don’t belong here. I’ve already told the others, I just wanted you to know I guess.” He waited for any kind of reaction from her. Why was he even here? He’d been meaning to leave tonight. He’d told everyone but Keiko and Kagome but he’d found himself at her doorstep. She was the one he needed to see before he vanished.
Kagome felt the sting of tears at the news. Where was he going? To this Makai place where most of his kind were? Was this his way of saying she’d never see him again? Could she go on without seeing him? She’d done it with Inuyasha when he’d walked away from her without looking back. Yusuke was about to do the same. Her mind flashed back to when Inuyasha had told her how he felt and all she’d been able to do was cry. She’d let him walk away from her without even trying. Somehow she knew she wouldn’t get over Yusuke’s parting like she’d done Inuyasha’s. She hadn’t known him long but he had touched her like her first love had never managed. Knowing he was about to walk out of her life for good made the tears fall. Despite how he felt about her she loved him. “I see.”
Yusuke kept his eyes on the floor not being able to look her in the eyes. She had to feel used with how things turned out. He didn’t deserve her, this was for the best. Taking a deep breath he was ready to go. Best to just end it before she got pissed and purified him. Would she even care that he was going?
Kagome saw him take a step back. He was really about to walk out on her. She let out the harsh cry that was threatening to choke her. She threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. It made no difference that he’d still walk away when it was over. He’d go knowing how she felt. “I don’t want you to go. I love you.”
Yusuke felt his heart drop at her words. No, it wasn’t possible. She couldn’t care that deeply about him. Pushing her back, he used his fingers to lift her face. Tears were streaming down her face. Tears that were for him. He gazed into the misty blue eyes and saw it. She was hiding nothing as she stared at him. When had she begun to care for him? It made his resolve strengthen. He brought nothing but trouble and suffering to those that loved him. Look at what almost happened to her. She was better off without him. “Kagome.”
She lifted her face and met the mouth coming towards her own. As his tongue plunged in between her, arms went to lift her up. She felt him carrying her through the small apartment until he found the bedroom. She didn’t care knowing where this was going to lead. Her hand wrapped around to cup his neck holding him to her. She put all her feelings into the one kiss. Wanting him to know exactly what she felt.
He placed her on the bed and went to work on removing their clothing. Her hands went to work on his. He shuddered feeling the warm palms gliding across his bare chest. He allowed her to touch whatever she wanted. She explored his stomach the found the waist of his jeans. The fingers went to work on undoing the button. Leaning up he helped her slide the material down. His shoes came off with the jeans in one swift movement.
Kagome held her breath as he removed her clothes. Once she was lying naked he didn’t do as usual and begin the sexual encounter. His hands slid up her waist as he moved forward. Kagome returned the kiss he instigated. His hand found her breast, cupping the globe. The touch was light, the thumb teasing the taunt nipple.
Yusuke pulled away from her mouth to kiss his way down her neck. His member stiffened along with the nipple he had between his fingers. Moving down he brought his mouth down over the peak. Her back arched off the bed in response. Running his tongue over the peak he took the other globe in his palm.
She felt the tiny strings of pleasure being plucked as he bathed her nipple. His tongue was hot, bringing tiny gasps from her. Her hand ran in his hair, holding him to her. She closed her eyes feeling him leave the hard peak to go lower. The smooth lips placed small kisses down the flat surface of her stomach. His hands pushed her legs apart as he settled himself between them. The feel of his breath swept over the damp center.
Yusuke buried his nose into the scent that was all hers. He placed a kiss over the soft mound. Her hips left the bed begging for more of the contact. Sweeping his tongue across, he pushed it between the swollen lips. The taste of her filled his mouth as he licked the moisture that he’d caused.
Kagome felt the tension growing as he pushed the hot tongue between her folds to enter the throbbing passage. The knot tightened as he thrust it in and out. She kept her hand buried in his hair as he found the small jewel. The tongue lifted until it flicked over the nerve. A jolt of pleasure shot down her body, centering on where his mouth was. He teased the small bud until the tension snapped and she felt her body convulse.
Yusuke waited until she came down before climbing up her body. He captured her lips as he pushed into her. Arms wrapped around his back pulling him tight against her chest. His fingers ran through her hair, holding her mouth under his. His tongue mocked the motion of his hips as he moved slowly. Legs tightened around his waist pulling him deeper. She gasped at the feeling and he echoed it with his own. His heart clenched as he felt himself being lost in the warm embrace.
Kagome felt the difference in his hold. It was gentle instead of lust filled. This was how she wanted it to be. Reaching up she cupped his cheek, keeping her eyes locked on his face. Warm brown eyes gazed back at her. Many emotions swirled back at her. Leaning up she took his mouth. He picked up the speed as she felt her peak nearing. Her name began rolling off his tongue with each thrust.
Yusuke felt her release take over and then found his own. He memorized every line of her face as she called his name. He let his seed empty as he remained still moments after they both stopped shaking. There was a wistful look on her face that made him feel piercing pain. Before he could change his mind, he rolled off her.
Kagome frowned when he got up quickly. Pulling the cover up to hide herself she watched him put on his jeans and then the shirt. She didn’t know what to say. Part of her wanted to demand why he would make love to her then haul ass but she knew the answer. He’d given himself to her one last time because she’d asked him to. She hadn’t come out and spoken the words but her actions had done it. He’d come to say goodbye, this wasn’t going to change anything. Her confession of love wouldn’t hold him to her. She didn’t want it to unless it was returned. Still, she’d spoken her heart, she would have no regrets. “Before you leave me. I want to know something. Even in the smallest measurement; do you love me?”
The question made him tense. He didn’t know how to answer that. The feelings raging inside him hurt. He wouldn’t allow himself to analyze and accept them. No, he had to put whatever he felt aside. If it meant being cruel and telling her no, he’d leave her so she could find someone to make her happy. She’d been right all along, he was worthless. He hadn’t been able to make Keiko happy and he wouldn’t be able to make her happy either. He didn’t belong her, or with her. She was too good for him, he wasn’t worthy of her love. Taking a deep breath he pulled his shoes back on and stood up. “Tell me is it possible to love someone you’ve always hated?”
Keiko held the crying girl in her arms. Unable to do anything but give comfort. When Kagome hadn’t shown up for breakfast she’d come over to see if everything was okay. What she’d found was the door unlocked and the girl in bed crying. Her face was swollen, the bed damp and no signs of it ending anytime soon. Through sobs she listened as Kagome told her everything.
So it had begun on her wedding day. What shocked her most of all was that Yusuke had walked away from the girl with such harsh words. Guilt plagued her knowing that part of it was her fault. She had used Kagome as a crutch to ease her own feeling of failure with her and Yusuke’s relationship. Doing so had caused the man to dislike the woman before he’d ever meet her. How was she to know that they’d one day fall in love? It didn’t help appease her mind or her heavy heart. The girl in her arms was near hysterics as she cried.
Would Yusuke come back and make things right? She’d wasted so many years on him herself. Could Kagome do the same in the state she was in? True she’d been upset about Yusuke’s leaving but it hadn’t effected her this way. Was it because Kagome was the one for him? If she was, how could he just walk away like that?
‘Yusuke, you jerk! How could you do this? You should be here. Come back, don’t walk away from something special. Don’t abandon her, don’t break her heart.’ As Keiko sent the silent prayer, she knew it wouldn’t be heard. Pulling the girl closer she sighed. “He’ll be back. I know him. He’s just being an ass. Yusuke always comes back.” Deep down she prayed it was true.
His ears began to burn as he stared at the large headstone. Was he a fool? “Hey, old man.” He voice filled the air as he waited patiently. The cool air moved his air as he felt the familiar presence appear. “How’s it going?”
“I thought you were going to be gone for a while.”
“Well, things didn’t turn out that way. I went back but Keiko and I split. Then everything went to shit. Remember you asked me that one day if I’d ever been in love, I told you yes. I was wrong then. I think I know what you meant now. Why you did what you did. While I was away I met a girl. There was something about her that drew me, I noticed it the first time I looked into..”
“Her eyes.” The spirit answered for him.
“Yeah, sucks though. I came to learn she was someone very special. I didn’t deserve her, so I left. Guess I’m a lot like you after all.” He looked out into the distance wondering what she was doing now. Did she even miss him? This had to be for the best. His words came back to fill him with sorrow. Did he hate her? At one time he’d thought so. Now he knew better. Even as the love filled his heart his mind spoke. “I’m sorry Kagome. I have to hate you because it hurts too much to love you.”
Raizen watched the boy shed a tear and sighed. The boy really was an idiot. Truly he had sprung from his genes. Before disappearing he decided to leave his advice. “Listen kid, I spent a long time wishing I’d done things different. I would have done anything to see her again. I realized that after it was too late that it didn’t matter if the world would have considered me good enough. What matter is if she thinks you are. Think on it some, make sure this is what you want. If you want her, don’t let her go.”
Yusuke watched him leave. Picking up the bag he looked off into the horizon and smiled. “Yeah, I’ll think about it old man. I’ll come back and let you know how it turns out.” The sun began to descend as he let his feet carry him away from the grave.
Title: Hate's Allure
Kagome put her best smile forward even if the sight before her was causing immense pain. It wasn’t in her nature to begrudge others their happiness. Hadn’t she learned in the past to let go? Yes, that was something that had been engraved into her heart and soul. This was just another one of those examples. She’d be happy for her friend then go on with her life. One day at a time was her new moto. She wouldn’t worry about the future or what it held. The present was where she belonged. The bride looked absolutely beautiful in her long white dress. So much lace it had to have cost a fortune. But the groom had stated that cost was no object but for the girl to have whatever her heart desired. What the she wouldn’t give for a man that sweet and gentle. No, her luck she fell for guys like Inuyasha. At least her friend had been spared that fate.
Her eyes lingered over the bride and groom. Yes, her friend had made a wonderful choice in her man. Then blue eyes flickered over to the man standing at the far end of the church. Being on of the bride’s maids, it gave her a good view of all those that were attending the ceremony. The guy in question was standing next to the door in jeans and a yellow shirt. Not exactly wedding attire in her opinion. She was surprised the man had even shown his face here today. It couldn’t be helped she guessed. Same with her relationship with Inuyasha. If she’d gotten with someone he wouldn’t have liked it but would have shown up for her sake alone. Thoughts of the hanyou brought back the pain; best not to think about it now.
Instead she looked back at the groom as he spoke his vows. It was so perfect she wanted to cry. Love and devotion was shining back at the young girl standing in front of him. Oh, to be loved so completely like that. Would she ever find it? Two years ago when she’d begun her last year of high school, she would never have foreseen this. The couple in front her had been nothing more than good friends. It was obviously to Kagome that the man had just the smallest crush on the girl. Keiko had become her friend when they’d met in chemistry class. It had bloomed into that of best friends within months. During that time she comforted the girl through a relationship. Kagome had been angered to hear how the guy was treating her so wrong. The man had dropped out of school and was a bum.
Keiko had said she wanted to get a good job after college in order to support them both. What kind of crap was that? He wouldn’t work, probably couldn’t read or write. He had sounded like a total loser in her opinion. She’d lost count of the times Keiko had come to class with red eyes from crying over him. The loser had been late to their date last night, he’d yelled her about her choice of movie, he’d never do anything romantic, and he was never there for her. The list was so long. Till one day Kagome had asked the girl why she was even with the guy.
The girl’s only response was that she loved him. Kagome had hated to tell the girl that sometimes love wasn’t enough. She knew that first hand. It took both people being in love and being dedicated to the other. If the man couldn’t even commit to a date how was he going to commit the rest of his life to her? One weekend Kagome had been preparing to take a long hot soak in her tub when the doorbell rang. Standing on her doorstep had been Keiko; crying. The two had gotten into a huge fight. The girl had never told her what it was about, except that this boy had picked a fight with one of Kieko’s male friends. The boy had a temper on him it seemed; reminded her of Inuyasha. A relationship needed trust if it were to last. Kagome had been strong in her resolve and told Keiko the plain truth of the matter. That relationship was going to fail. It had taken some time to convince the girl that she deserved better than that.
The next two months had been filled with just them two spending time together. There were a few occasions when she was sure the girl was going to break down in tears. But Keiko had done it; she’d ended her relationship with Yusuke. They were supposed to still remain friends but Kagome never saw him around. Hell she’d only seen him one day and that was from afar. Six weeks after they’d split, the two girls had gone to the movies. On the walk home the boy had been across the street leaning against the wall staring at them. Keiko had been shocked and scared to go talk to him. Kagome gently reminded her that she had to do what made her happy. To stand firm in her beliefs. So the girl had just simply waved at the man and continued walking. Kagome had managed to look back and get one last glance and wished she hadn’t. The boy had been staring at her with such hate it had felt like actual pain. Let him blame her if that’s what helped him sleep at night. Men never did accept their own faults, easier to place the blame on someone else.
The day Keiko had came into class saying that Ahiko had asked her to accompany him to dinner, Kagome had insisted that she go. The guy wasn’t anything special to look at but was extremely nice. Everyone knew of the boy’s large crush on the girl. What fool wouldn’t? Keiko was one of the popular girls in the school. Kagome was up there but didn’t get asked out much. Her aloofness tended to run most people away. The guy had went so far as to bring Keiko flowers before class and carry her books. It was so sweet, it had left the miko wanting. She’d be lucky to have a guy that didn’t scratch his balls in public.
The bride began repeating her vows as they all watched in silent awe. Whispers began as the priest announced that he could kiss his bride. The kiss was long and passionate that left no doubt of the feelings between the two. Turning towards the crowd the couple was announced formally. Kagome wiped the single tear that had begun to run down her cheek. People were cheering and clapping as they began to re-walk the isle but this time together. Shizuru nudged her in the side as Kuzuma began shouting making an ass out of himself as always. Kagome couldn’t help but giggle at the boy’s antics.
The blush crept along the bride’s cheeks as a few lewd remarks were made. Instead of having a reception the two were heading straight to the honeymoon. If the kiss was any indication the girl was in for a ride. Kagome smiled at that thought. She’d probably die a virgin at this rate. Marriage wasn’t for her. Once she would have freely given herself to Inuyasha but that was in the past and so was he. Didn’t mean she didn’t have her own urges at time. She’d be twenty soon and well past the time to experience a man. Some nights she took the matter into her own hands to find the smallest amount of pleasure. It shocked her that she didn’t fantasize about Inuyasha during those times. No instead her mind would conjure up someone dark and mysterious, thrilling and exciting, a man who’s touch drove her wild. Said man probably didn’t exist but it didn’t stop her mind and body from enjoying the idea regardless.
Yusuke gave Keiko a small smile as she walked past him into the awaiting sunlight. Not moving he watched her go. Knowing she was finally gone, forever lost to him. Strangely the idea didn’t cause any pain. It was more of a dull ache that wouldn’t go away. Had it been his fault? Maybe so but hell he’d tried. Keiko couldn’t deny that he’d tried to make her happy. He’d given up his fighting and lust to become stronger. His desire to be the Makai King had been put on hold so he could spend time with her. He couldn’t change who or what he was, had that been the cause? His eyes flickered over the girls standing at the front.
Sneering he saw the one that he didn’t care for. Things had been going okay until she’d become friends with that tart. That girl had helped end him and Keiko’s relationship. He knew he wasn’t entirely without any blame. But dammit they could have worked things out if she hadn’t stuck her nose into their business. Soon after that friendship had started all Keiko would talk about was HER! Then whenever they fought Keiko made sure he knew what the precious friend thought of him. ‘Kagome is right you are a bum. Kagome thinks you should do it. See, Kagome agrees with me.’ To hell with Kagome! Who did the girl think she was?
That girl was already on his shit list. If she’d been a male he’d done kicked her ass but she had to be a girl. A beautiful one, with large blue eyes, a tiny nose, full pink lips.... wooh, what the hell was he doing? Snapping his attention back to the others, it was safer to look at Shizuru. So the girl was nice to look at, too bad she was a bitch. A bitch that had stuck her nose in his business. She didn’t know all about him and Keiko’s past. Or about what he really was or what he’d been through. Even if she did, he doubted the girl’s opinion would have changed; she was just that type. A man wasn’t any good unless he had a high paying job, a fancy car and catered to his woman. Dammit, so he wasn’t rich or didn’t drive but he had loved Keiko. Would have died for her. This girl had turned the one person that had always stood by his side against him. What words had she spoken? Females were capable of anything, that much he knew.
Sighing he knew he shouldn’t let it bother him but as he had watched the couple he felt robbed. Not having many friends and no family; you couldn’t count his lush mother. He wanted someone special to come home to at the end of the day. Someone to give him what he wanted most in the world; love. Keiko had always said she loved him but where was that love now? Tossed aside like it had meant nothing at all. His sacrifices had all been in vain. It had gotten him nothing in the end but watching the girl he loved marry another man. His heart felt leaden as the cheers continued as the couple stopped outside for the bride to throw her bouquet. The bride’s maids were all walking down the isle now to head outside with everyone else. People would want to wish them farewell before they took off.
His eyes landed on the girl as she spoke in hushed tones to another girl. The light blue dress looked better on her than any of the others. The material fit snug on her lean form, hugging every curve as she strutted down the isle. The girl had to know what she was doing. That walk screamed ‘Stare at me.’ His anger against her was still there as she marched outside to say bye to the couple she’d help form. That’s right, she’d been the one to convince Keiko to find another man and discard him. That last fight he’d heard enough. Keiko had made sure to throw the girl’s opinion and words in his face. “Kagome, thinks I deserve better. She says you will never amount to anything. You know what she’s right, I do deserve better. You are selfish! It’s over Yusuke, don’t bother walking me home. I’ll call Kagome and have her pick me up.” Those words haunted him.
Kagome gathered behind the large crowd of women. All wanting to catch the flowers. What the hell for? Not like it meant anything. Just because someone caught it didn’t mean anything. Groaning she moved aside as some blonde girl rudely shoved her with an elbow. ‘Bitch!’ It would take more than those flowers to land her a husband. Kagome let her eyes land on the girl, one she knew all too well. It was Ahiko’s cousin, Yuriko. It was that bitch that had been trying to break Keiko and Ahiko up. Why, the miko couldn’t fathom. Maybe it was because the girl didn’t want anyone to be happy because she wasn’t. There was no way she was happy either. Kagome had watched her jump from man to man. The girl didn’t know how to say no either. Every single guy she’d been more than eager to jump in the sack with. If the girl caught the bouquet, then she better buy her new husband a board and some rope so he don’t fall in.
She backed up further just wanting to be away from all the commotion. Let them fight over something so stupid. She’d make her own luck and search for love, not expect it to fall into her lap. Arms were flying into the air as Keiko turned her back to the flock of women. Kagome was all for celebrating but wasn’t going to try and actually catch it. Taking a deep breath she spun on her heels wanting to get away. Her breath lodged in her throat when she looked into the piercing brown gaze.
Yusuke let his eyes linger into her own and was pulled into the dark blue depths. His soul was suddenly swimming in those eyes. The sound of women screaming was heard all around them but he was unaware of it all. Instead he couldn’t pull himself away from the girl now staring back at him. Did she know who he was? They’d never been introduced. He doubted she knew who he was, why would she care. Besides she’d destroyed his relationship with Keiko. He meant nothing to her, just another guy she’d help destroy along her way to self fulfillment.
“What do you know I caught it.” Shizuru pushed the bouquet in the girl’s face. The staring contest between the two was somewhat amusing. She snickered at the heated look Kagome had but what interested her more was Yusuke. He’d looked ready to devour the girl. She hadn’t even known they’d met. “I see you two have met.”
“Actually, we’ve never been introduced. Though I’ve heard more than enough about her.” Yusuke crossed his arms. That was putting it lightly. He was tired of hearing the fucking name. The girl’s name was like a bad cum stain that you just couldn’t get off your black sheets. The way her cheeks were becoming brighter said she knew who he was. So, did it bother her to see the man she’d help be discarded? He doubted it!
“Well, Yusuke this is Kagome. Kagome this is Yusuke, Keiko’s ex. Now, that we’ve all met, how about we head over to the party at my place. Since those kids didn’t bother hosting a reception, Kuzuma and I are going to feed everyone that wants to hang out. Toss back a few beers and have a good time. You are coming Kagome, so wipe that look off your face.” Shizuru grabbed her arms as the limo began to pull off, taking the newlyweds with it.
Kagome pushed the drunken male off her shoulder. The wobbling head just swayed back to find the pillow he’d made. Groaning she thought of pushing him completely off the couch. That would serve him right. The stranger burped in his sleep, reeking of beer and eggs. She was going to be sick. The party was in full swing but she was ready to head home. The two beers she’d consumed didn’t help her nerves. Being with a bunch of people she didn’t know, only made her slightly nervous. It was the stare that refused to leave her head. Had she grown horns on the way over in Shizuru’s car?
She could feel him watching her every move. It made her skin tingle in anticipation. Why she had no idea. What could she be wanting to happen? Besides the glaring to stop and soon. Thoughts of picking her nose came to mind. Maybe then he’d stop. He was standing on the wall with Kuwabara talking. What the conversation was about she couldn’t hear. It would have bored her no doubt. Closing her eyes, she tried to keep her mind clear. It was already a little foggy from the alcohol. They snapped open when a hand suddenly landed on her left breast in a tight hold. The first thing she saw was penetrating brown eyes filled with some raw emotion. Her frustrated yelp got attention from those hanging around. The slobbering drunk mumbled before squeezing harder. Her hand flew out and grabbed the large plastic bowl on the table containing chips. Without regards to the clean carpet she brought the dish across his head. He toppled forward, hitting the inn table as he went down. “You pervert.”
Standing up she set her mind on going home. She lived just down the street, within walking distance. The apartment complex wasn’t the best but she could afford it on her part-time job. Her mother helped whenever she could which helped. Stepping over the now unconscious man, she made her way to the hallway closet to find her purse. Seeing the small black bag, it was grabbed quickly.
Yusuke watched her walk out the door. Telling Kuwabara he’d be right back he followed. He wasn’t sure why he was following her. He felt the strong need to talk to her. Part of him wanted to know exactly what she’d said to Keiko. The other felt drawn to the girl. He’d made a few inquiries about her while at the party. His few friends seemed to like her but there was some that didn’t. Yuriko had given him an earful and was more than happy to talk. She said most people thought the girl to be stuck up. The type that cared only about herself. She had stated how the girl went from male to male, breaking all their hearts in the process. This Kagome found nothing wrong with using men. Some of the guys he’d talked to had outright called the girl a bitch. An uptight, conceited, snotty bitch; had been Hojo’s opinion.
Stepping out into the night air, he caught sight of her form just down the road a bit. She was heading to the apartments. So she lived there, did she live alone? The lingering smell of a cook-out filled his nostrils. That and perfume that had to be the girl’s. Seeing her getting close he sped up knowing if she got inside she wouldn’t open the door for him. He had a few things to say to her while he had the chance.
Kagome was fumbling with her keys when a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder. Dropping the key ring she spun around to confront the person. Her heart sank seeing the tall boy standing very close. How the hell hadn’t she noticed him following her? Because your mind had been preoccupied on him, stupid. All the way home she’d been thinking about him. Which was stupid considering who the hell he was. It was Keiko’s loser ex-boyfriend. The one she’d told the girl didn’t deserve her. So why hadn’t she been able to stop thinking about him?
Okay, she’d admit that he was very cute in a rugged sort of way. His hair hung limply in his face, not back as it had been before. It made him look younger and more appealing. His thick lips were parted as he just stared at her. Her stomach clenched as his tongue came out to wet those tasty lips. What would it be like to kiss him? Scolding herself for even thinking it, she took it out on him. “What the hell do you want?”
The anger she displayed made his own rise. She really was a bitch, already yelling at him for no reason. If only she had a set of balls then he’d be able to smack her ass. He’d only come to talk to her not put up with this shit. The rumors had to be true. She showed her sweet little act in front of those she wanted and her true self to those that didn’t matter. “I came to ask you a fucking question. You will answer me too. I want to know what lies you told Keiko.”
Kagome paled at the accusation. She’d never lied to Keiko about anything that she knew of. The girl did deserve to be happy, she was a good person. It was obvious she wasn’t happy with this man so she hadn’t lied. What right did he have to say such things to her when she’d only given her friend some sound advice? He was being the ass she’d always thought him to be. No wonder the girl hadn’t been happy. This guy was a big jerk, and a rude one to boot. He’d followed her home to curse at her and demand things. He was no better than those from her past. “I suggest you leave before I call the authorities. I’m sure they all know you by name by now but I doubt they’ll take kindly to you harassing me.”
“Oh, that one hurt.” He crossed his arms and stared down at her. She only came up to his chin, very small. Still she stood there with her fists balled and anger blazing in her eyes. Not many people stood up to him. The girl had no idea how he’d retaliate but held her ground. Admiration fueled his anger along with the condemning look in her eyes. So she thought herself to be better than him. “From what I’ve heard they all have your number on speed dial. Makes me wonder why someone like Keiko would befriend you.”
Kagome gasped at the comment. Everyone knew she’d dated a cop for a few months. The relationship had gone nowhere. It had gotten to the point where he wanted more than just casual dating. Not wanting to give up her virginity to someone she didn’t love it had ended badly. The man had told lies about her. Not that she gave a damn, they could all rot in hell. The bum had no right to stand here and lecture her! When she knew he’d been a fucking dog in his relationship with Keiko. Her friend had commented on several occasion that all it seemed he wanted to do was have sex. They’d never done it but the boy had pressured the girl on many an occasion. Constantly groping and trying to seduce the girl into his bed. “Screw you, I don’t have to listen to this. Leave now, you asshole. If you want to know why you and Keiko’s relationship didn’t work out. Next time try looking in the mirror. You are lucky she stayed with you as long as she did.”
Yusuke saw the accusation flaring back in her eyes and guilt. Why would she feel guilty unless she’d done something wrong? The blue eyes flashed as she fumbled with her purse. Moving his foot to the right it covered up the keys she was frantically searching for. She wasn’t going anywhere until his questions were answered. True, he’d been lucky to keep Keiko for so long and it pissed him off to hear her point it out. “You bitch, she’d still be with me if it weren’t for you.”
Kagome lashed out at the insult, her hand connecting with his cheek. Nothing but the sound of a car starting some distance away was heard along with the crack of the slap. It had hit him dead on, leaving a large red mark even she could see in the moonlight. If this kept up she’d end up waking up her neighbors. Just her luck she was on the backside of the complex. The apartment to her left was empty, a couple lived to her right but were on vacation. Standing on the small porch she ignored the tingling in her hand. His mouth was slightly parted as he took a deep breath. Not wanting him to know how he was effecting her, she lashed out again. “If it weren’t for me she wouldn’t be happily married.”
“I could have made her happy. You have NO idea what I have given up to make her happy. You are just like everyone else, judging me without even knowing me. You don’t know me. Right now I’m very glad that you don’t. People like you make me sick. You think of no one but yourself. If anyone deserves to be unhappy it is you. I pray that you end up alone and the one you love discards you.” Yusuke let the words roll off his tongue wanting her to feel some of the pain he’d felt. Someone needed to hurt as much as he. It wasn’t fair that he should end up alone when he’d given everything up for her.
Kagome felt as if she’d been punched in the chest. Is that why it had happened? Did she deserve to be unhappy? Should she make his day by telling him his wish had been granted long before it had been uttered? She had been discarded by the man she loved after she’d given up everything to be with him. Is that the pain she’d caused this man without realizing it? No, that couldn’t be right. If it was then what had Keiko not told her? The pain she saw echoing in his eyes was real, pain she’d helped cause. NO, she hadn’t done anything but tell Keiko she deserved to be happy. Their relationship had nothing to do with her. Anger was her friend now, she’d use it. “Just because you don’t know how to please a woman, don’t blame me. If you’d treated her right she wouldn’t have left you. Why don’t you stop and ask yourself what you have to offer a woman instead of blaming others for your shortcomings.”
Yusuke felt the bite of her words. His eyes focused on the rise and fall of her chest as it heaved in anger. The silk shirt was tight against her skin, the first three buttons undone. Exposing just enough skin to tease. What did he have to offer a woman? Nothing but his heart and maybe his body. The gaze lingered as she put her hands on her hips as she waited to see his response. The black skirt hugged the curves as she strained to stand in the same spot. Through the sting in his cheek he felt his body respond. That tight stirring began to awaken as she looked him over, as if sizing him up. Did she really want to know what he had to offer?
Kagome was sure he’d gone stupid as he just stood there. “Well? Can’t think of anything can you. Ever thought she is better off with a man that can give her what she wants? Love, a home, security and maybe passion?” Yes, weren’t those the things every woman wanted. A man to give her all those things. Was it asking to much to want that? Keiko had seemed to find it in someone, so it wasn’t impossible. She felt her head go dizzy as he closed the distance between them.
Yusuke wasn’t sure what made him move but her voice had sounded like a challenge. She backed up into the door but it made no difference. Within seconds he had her pinned between his arms. “Passion? Let’s see if I have any to offer a woman, shall we.” His mouth claimed hers, pushed hard against her parted lips. A hand sprang between them as the purse fell to the floor. The small palm pushed against his chest. Without any care his tongue forced it’s way into her mouth. The surprised noise caused the lips to open wider. It was enough to allow him complete entry.
Kagome felt her knees go weak as his mouth landed on hers. This couldn’t be happening, he was kissing her. The strings in her belly pulled feeling his tongue gliding over her own. It was wet and hot, stirring her senses. Damn, he was a good kisser. It coaxed her own to react, she let herself go with it. It was only a little kiss. Entwining her own with his, he brought a hand to rest on her hip. The touch was light but sent tiny pricks of awareness throughout her body.
Yusuke suppressed the groan as she relaxed against him. The hand was now lodged onto his neck, the fingers running small circles over the nape. It was sending waves of pleasure down his spine. He felt himself harden as her tongue snaked out to lick his bottom lip. Did she have any idea what she was doing to him? It should have been a kiss drawn from punishment. He felt no need to punish or prove her wrong. Instead he felt like taking what she was offering. Could he fuck her and pretend it didn’t happen? Yes, he’d done it many times before. After the split with Keiko he’d found himself a few lovers in the Makai. All of them had been experienced women, whores. All of them wanting to bed Raizen’s heir. They had taken his virginity and given him the means in which to sate his lust.
Kagome was sure she had to be dreaming. She’d passed out next to the drunkard at the party and was dreaming about this man. The kiss felt better than those she’d imagined while pleasuring herself. The ache was there, waiting to be appeased and all from a kiss. Why him? Why couldn’t Inuyasha have kissed her like this? Instead it was with a man that she didn’t like and he probably couldn’t stand her. Yet, her body was stirring with need. She knew what it wanted but could she allow herself to give into the urge? What kind of person would that make her?
Yusuke felt his youkai blood stirring as the wind picked up. A strange but intoxicating scent invaded his senses. Grabbing a hold of the slender hip, it was pulled against his body. Bringing his throbbing length to rub along the flat surface of her stomach. She gasped in his mouth but didn’t pull away at the contact. The scent spiked as he caused friction by rubbing himself against her warm body. His instincts told him it was her desire he smelled. He’d smelt it before on the whores but it had been different. Those smells had been more musky, stronger. Her’s was very light, not as strong but more pleasant. Wanting to know for sure, he continued to assault her mouth.
Kagome lost all coherent thought when the calloused hand began lifting up her skirt. The material was made to fit snug against the skin. As it was yanked around her waist, that’s where it stayed. The satin panties gave no resistance to the hand that tugged the side until it ripped. She shuddered in fear and excitement. Her mind screamed that she should push him away then have him arrested for his behavior. The panties were tossed aside as his tongue stabbed deeper into her mouth, licking every corner.
He ran his hand along the creamy inside of her thighs. She was incredibly smooth and hot, unlike anything he’d felt before. Not wanting to wait he cupped the mound nestled between her legs. Her body jerked as his fingers found the wet folds. The moisture collected around the tips as her legs went wider. His member ached to be released, to bury itself. He had to be a complete fool to be doing this. This was Keiko’s best friend. Still the thought didn’t make him stop from finding the sensitive jewel hidden between the folds.
Kagome felt her body jerk and loose control at the touch. It was too much to ignore. The skilled fingers began pulling moans from her throat. They dipped to brush across her opening to massage her clit in a swift motion. It was driving her to the point of release. The tension was there, growing tighter with each second. The hand left her suddenly, then the sound of a zipper was heard. “Wait...” Even to her ears, the voice sounded weak and hollow. She wasn’t going to ask him to stop but she didn’t want her first time to be on her doorstep.
Yusuke heard her mutter something but paid it no attention. The pants were pushed down far enough to give him room. Grabbing her around the waist he lifted her up and pushed her against the wooden door. The legs had no choice but to wrap around his waist for support. His eyes rolled feeling his tip brush against the slick opening. She was more than ready for him and he wasn’t going to wait any longer. Moving his hips he placed himself right at the entrance. Using the wall for support and gripping her waist he pushed up.
Kagome hissed in pain as he began to fill her. He was sliding in with ease but it had to be tearing her in the process. The thick feeling consumed her as he didn’t stop. She gasped as every inch was forced inside her virgin body. The feeling was new and different from anything she’d done to herself. Placing her own finger inside couldn’t begin to compare to him. He was stretching her walls to the point of it being painful. Taking a deep breath she willed her body to stop shaking.
Yusuke felt the muscles slowly giving in as he pushed on. It was hard to get his cock more than halfway inside the tight passage. His body ached for release but her back was arched in pain. Pulling slightly out he waited for her to stop shaking. When she began to move against him, he pushed back in. This time he went in a little deeper. How could she feel this good?
She almost screamed when he pulled out again only to slam in with the next thrust. It put him further inside her and caused more pain. The friction of it was nice but she didn’t think she was ready for it. The man holding her didn’t seem to care. His body began moving rapidly as she held on. It stung as he rode her, while she adjusted to the size. Her arms went around his neck holding tightly. The small tension was there and increased as the pace slowed.
Yusuke felt her walls tighten around him. His body demanded release. He applied more weight against her small form, pressing her into the door. His hand cupped her behind her shoulders holding her still. His next thrust put him deeper and she cried out. The sound stirred his blood. Wanting to hear it again he repeated the motion. He was rewarded with her loud moan of pleasure.
Kagome felt him hitting a sensitive spot every time he thrust deeper. She felt her release at the peak, ready to wash over her. Each time he hit it, it filled the pleasurable tension. It was teasing her, letting her know just how good it would be once it came crashing down. Her whole lower region felt on fire as he kept the steady pace. She wanted more but was being denied. Using her legs she lifted herself up and back down to meet his thrust. That got his attention and what she wanted. The feeling of him moving faster made the tension snap.
He heard her scream of release as the walls tightened around him. Her body began to pull him deeper as she came. Feeling his own taking over he went faster, pushing himself to the limit. The sound of skin meeting, made him wild. The thrust became more hard than fast. Nails dug into his back through the cotton shirt as he felt the wave wash over him. His member jerked as she squeezed him, pulling the seed from his body.
Kagome felt him release her enough so she could slide down. When she did so her feet hit something; her keys. Reaching down she snatch them up and quickly found the right one. His eyes popped open at the sound. His brow lifted as she opened the door. Not wanting to speak she stepped inside the dark interior. Her emotions were raw and she was close to breaking down. When he began to speak she shut the sound off by slamming the door shut. The deadbolt slid into place as he began to bang on the door.
~~~~A week later~~~~
Yusuke watched the girl from across the street. She had no idea he was there yet. It hadn’t been hard to find her, he just had to go ask Mr. Yukimora where Keiko was. The two girls were sitting in the large diner having breakfast. He could barely make out of her face as she sat there stirring the cup of coffee. Whatever sugar she’d put in it had to be stirred in by now. She’d been nursing it for over half an hour now. Her face was pulled into a tight mask as she listened to whatever his ex-girlfriend was saying. His chest tightened seeing the look. It was sad, filled with remorse. Feelings he’d caused?
Should he go in there and let her know exactly how he felt? Anger and guilt was his constant companion now. Going home had been hard enough. Obvious he wasn’t getting inside her home without breaking the door down. Pulling his pants up he’d made his way home. When he’d gotten there Kurama had been waiting on him. The kitsune had merely given him a strange look before heading back into the kitchen. The bathroom was the next place he went, to take a shower. It was there he’d stripped in the light. Seeing the blood on his flaccid cock had stunned him. His mind screamed at it but he didn’t want to believe it. He’d never gone to those stupid classes at school. His mother hadn’t taught him shit. What he’d known of sex before the whores had been talk. Which wasn’t much considering he never had any friends but Keiko and Kuwabara. Those two had avoided any subject resembling sex. Wrapping a towel around his middle he’d gone straight to the man in the kitchen. “Kurama, what makes a woman bleed during sex?”
“Depends, was the woman menstruating?” At his negative shake, Kurama looked thoughtful. “Well, human females can bleed just the smallest amount their first time. The other case would be if it was forced intercourse. If the woman isn’t prepared then it can tear her. Why?” Yusuke had felt like he’d been punched in the gut. She’d been more than ready for it but extremely tight. She’d muttered to him before he’d been about to enter. Had she been wanting to stop? He’d been her first and he’d taken her against her door.
His eyes narrowed as she got up to walk away. Seeing his chance he crossed the street. The chimes sounded as he entered the place. Keiko noticed him the second he entered. A big smile was sent his way and he couldn’t help but smile back. She did look happy, too happy. It caused his stomach to pitch. Maybe he’d made a mistake. Had Keiko leaving him been the best thing for her to do? “Hey Keiko.”
She smiled at him and waved him over. This would prove to be good, she’d been wanting to talk to him. Now that she was back she wanted to smooth things over again. For some odd reason she felt like something was still standing between their friendship. Kagome had gone to use the payphone so the other seat was empty. He sat down across from her eyeing the cold cup of coffee. “Sorry, Kagome went to go use the phone.”
“I see, I can leave if I’m intruding.” He knew he was but really wasn’t going to leave. This ‘chance’ meeting was what he wanted. He’d just pretend that he’d seen Keiko at the table and had come in to talk to her. Not like he had known she’d be there also. Leaning back he saw her negative shake as she took a sip of her own mug.
“No, it’s okay. Look, I know we didn’t end on good terms. I said a lot of things I shouldn’t have. You have to understand I felt like I was trapped. Hell, I was a bitch. I think part of it was because I wasn’t happy. Deep down I knew you weren’t either.” She held up her hand when he tried to speak. “Don’t lie to either yourself or me. You weren’t happy with me. Being in love with someone means loving them for who they are; everything about them. There are things about you that will always stop that from happening. I love you and don’t want you to change but you aren’t the one for me. I’ll always be your friend. Didn’t you ever stop to wonder why some things were missing in our relationship? I know you don’t want to hear this but when I’m with my husband he makes me feel alive. Just looking at him stirs me. Have you ever looked at me and felt your blood run hot?”
The question caught him off guard. Was she insinuating that he didn’t desire her? He’d wanted her but she had a point. He didn’t want to admit that to himself though. Because he’d have to admit that yes it had happened to him and not too long ago. As he’d watched her best friend inside that church he’d felt it. The pull had been there and his blood had stirred. It hadn’t mattered that he didn’t like her, it had been there. “I guess you have a point.”
“We can get past this. I don’t want any hard feelings between us. Hell I even used Kagome as a means of escape and she’d been nothing but a true friend to me. I know you don’t like her and that’s mostly my fault. I said some things that weren’t true. I guess that was my way of telling you how I felt while letting someone else take the fall. She wants me to be happy just how I want you to be happy. Have you gotten a chance to meet her yet?”
“Yeah, at the wedding.” Then real close afterwards. He frowned when his body stirred at the memories. He’d gotten to know parts of her real well. His eyes lingered over Keiko for several moments and he couldn’t help but compare the two. Yes, Keiko was classically beautiful but Kagome’s was more vivid; more alive. The ache wouldn’t go away as he caught her scent lingering on the jacket placed next to him.
Kagome stopped in her tracks at the sight. Her stomach hit the cold marble floor as Yusuke threw his hands behind his head casually to laugh at something her friend said. The closeness between them was still there. It tugged at her heart to see it. Keiko was happily married with a man that adored her and had someone that was madly in love with her. She could see the adoration on his features as they spoke. It shocked and dismayed her all at once. She wouldn’t have pegged him being capable of that type of feeling. It was there, slapping her in the face. Why should she even care? Because she hadn’t stopped thinking about him since that night. A week had passed and he was constantly on her mind. Wondering just what type of person he really was. In a way she had wronged him. She had judged him before hearing both sides of the story. Seeing the look he was sending across the table spoke volumes. ‘You have no idea what I’ve given up to make her happy.’ Those words came back to haunt her. He loved her!
Clenching her fists she wasn’t even sure why she cared. He meant nothing to her, nothing! Let him be smitten with Keiko, she would be fine. She doubted she’d even crossed his mind after he’d pulled up his pants. He’d fucked her like a cheap piece of ass last week and was still trying to get back with another. What was worse; not only had she let him but had enjoyed it. Enjoyed it so much it kept her up at night. Having dreams about feeling his touch. Wanting to know what it would feel like to have him make love to her. To have him hold her in that warm embrace as he spoke soft words in her ear. She was being an idiot. She didn’t know him and was letting a quick moments lust make mush of her brain.
Her purse and jacket were on the chair next to him. She couldn’t just leave it there. Willing herself she took a deep breath. The sounds of her footsteps sounded loud to her ears as she crossed the diner. Both faces turned to her as she neared. Keiko was smiling and he had a look of complete indifference. It stung that he was acting like he didn’t know who she was. Two could play that game, screw him. “Sorry, I got to head out now. Mom needs me at the shrine for a few days. Gramps isn’t feeling all that well.” The lie easily slipped off her tongue.
“I hope he’s okay.” Keiko saw the stress around her mouth. The girl’s face was pale and she appeared to be distressed. Was something seriously wrong with her grandfather? Hopefully that wasn’t the case. Kagome loved her family fiercely. She’d been hoping they all could sit down and talk. She would like it if her and Yusuke could become friends since she loved them both.
He frowned when she suddenly leaned over him to reach for her belongings. Her scent hit him full force and his body sprang to life. She smelt good, better than that. The urge to bury his nose in her thick hair was strong. To wrap his hands around the slender neck, pull her into his lap. It would no doubt freak both women out if he were to do so. Instead he let it fill his nostrils and stir his senses.
Kagome snatched the purse last and began to lean back up. She didn’t like being so close to him. It was unnerving. As she straightened herself, she blushed seeing the large bulge in his jeans. After having experienced it first hand there was no mistaking it. He was rock hard, straining in the pants. A frown replaced the fake smile, to cover up the hurt. What had she interrupted. Keiko looked to be innocent enough. That didn’t mean anything, she wasn’t stupid. Yusuke was turned on and she had walked in on it. He’d been getting excited while talking with his ex. Keiko had said he was always trying to touch her and get fresh. After what she’d felt with him, she didn’t doubt it. He seemed to be a very virile man. It still pained her to know that while he’d fucked her his body was aching for another woman. Had she been a means to relieve that tension? “I’ll call you later tonight.” Kagome gave the girl a quick but false smile before departing.
Keiko watched her leave and frowned. Something was definitely up with that girl. All week she’d barely said a word. Staring out the window or staring off into space. The girl’s mind was elsewhere. “Sorry about that. I’m not sure what’s bothering her lately. She isn’t herself.”
Kagome kicked the front tire and swore when it hit back. The edge of her toe was throbbing as she pushed the bangs out her eyes. This really wasn’t her day. This car hated her it seemed. Glancing at the gear stored in the backseat she waited patiently. Using her borrowed cell phone she called Shizuru knowing Keiko had already left to head up north. This trip was already going downhill. It had been planned for six months. Being packed in ready to go she climbed in the car to find the fucker wouldn’t start. Not wanting to risk missing out on the vacation she would have to catch a ride. The site they’d rented had cost them a good amount. All five of them had pitched in for the rent.
Sighing she waited in the cool breeze for the girl to pick her up. Good thing she was a light packer or she’d be up Shit Creek. This camping trip should help her relax. Anything to get her mind off HIM. Why couldn’t she stop thinking about him? It had just been one night. Well, one night of anything physical. But she’d known of him for almost two years. Ever since she’d met Keiko, the name Yusuke had been there in the shadows. Now that the man had a face it was torturing her to no end. Sleeping with him had made matters worse.
He should have remained a figure, not come to life within her arms. This was going to drive her to pull her hair out. The hurt from two weeks ago was still fresh. So he still wanted and loved Keiko. She was fooling herself if she even imagined that she could get him to fall for her. Her past already shown the mistake of thinking that way. He still loved his first love and wouldn’t give that up for her. Inuyasha hadn’t and look what all she’d done for him. All she’d done for Yusuke was spread her legs.
Not wanting to start the trip off on a sour note, she forced her mind to think of someone else. Anyone else but Yusuke! She barely knew the guy for crying out loud. Hearing Keiko talk about him for so long didn’t mean she knew him. Sure she knew what his favorite restaurant was, what his favorite color was and that he liked video games. That all came from listening to her friend. Didn’t matter if she still remembered it all for some strange reason. “Get a grip!”
The bright red Kia Sportage came cruising down the road. Relief filled her seeing the siblings arriving. Maybe riding with them would help get her mind off the man. Keiko would flip if she knew of what had transpired between Yusuke and herself. She’d end the friendship if she knew Kagome kept thinking about the guy. The miko didn’t want to end her friendship over something that should have never happened. Taking a deep breath she waved as the vehicle pulled up to a sudden stop beside her own. “Thanks for coming.”
Kagome watched Kuwabara get out of the passenger door with goofy look on his face. He must have been laughing hysterically about something. Her eyes swept over at driver side as the backseat door opened. Her heart fell and began to roll under her small car. Fate had just came running to deliver a swift kick to the nutts. The dark head was unmistakable as he climbed out. What was he doing there?
“No problem girl, hate to leave you stranded. We do have one small problem though. Yusuke decided to join us at the last minute and my car is almost full with all the stuff. I’m sure we can get your things in. You’ll have to sit on Yusuke’s lap on the drive up I’m afraid. I got stuck with the grill and most of the baggage and food.” Shizuru opened up the back in order to shove Kagome’s bags inside.
There wasn’t much room left but they’d have to manage. The man they were renting the cabin from had called at the last minute to inform them that the stove had broken. So they had to take a grill, not wanting to microwave everything. Then just last night Yusuke had stopped by when everyone but Kagome was there planning it out. Keiko and her husband had asked him to tag along. Kuwabara had also jumped at the idea. She was glad of the change. Kieko would no doubt be occupied with her man. It left her and Kagome time to hang out and have fun. Having her kid bro tagging along up their asses didn’t sit well. This way the two guys could hang out.
“I’ll help get your stuff.” Kuwabara rushed to grab the suitcase out the backseat. The only thing left was her duffle bag which contained her bathroom supplies and her hiking gear. Yusuke didn’t bother looking at her but went on the other side to get the gear out leaving her to grab her duffle bag and purse. They weren’t giving her time to protest at the situation.
Kagome groaned grabbing her belongings. This couldn’t be happening to her, not now. The drive was eight hours long. How the hell was she to sit in his lap that long without screaming? Maybe she could lean all the way up and just sit on his knees. Keep as far from him as possible. She couldn’t tell them no. If she didn’t go with them after all the planning and excitement over the trip; they’d know something was wrong. She doubted Yusuke would sit in Kuwabara’s lap if she asked.
Yusuke pushed the gear behind Kuwabara’s seat filling the empty space on the floor. The backseat was now full except where he’d be sitting. He’d wouldn’t be allowed much moving room as it was. Shizuru had no idea what she was asking. His eyes roamed over the girl now locking up her car, she didn’t look happy about it either. She looked cute in the grey sweats. The clothes bagged off her being more for warmth.
His body twitched remembering exactly what was being hidden from view. He hadn’t wanted to come when they’d asked him. Not really wanting to listen to Kuwabara’s mouth all week. Seeing Keiko with her new man hadn’t bothered him like it should have. Was it because he was over it? Or did the girl storming over to him have something to do with it? Shizuru had made the comment that him coming would keep her idiot brother out of her and Kagome’s hair, he’d decided to tag along. It would give him a chance to see what type of person she was really like. When the car had been loaded and they were about to walk out the phone had rung. Shizuru had been inside as they stuff the last of the bags in. She’d come out informing them that Kagome would be riding with them. It wasn’t until they were climbing in they noticed the lack of room. Could he deal with her sitting in his lap for that long?
“Let’s get going, we aren’t going to arrive until after dark as is. I’m sure Kuzuma is going to want to stop and eat too. That’ll take an hour itself.” Shizuru watched Yusuke climb in and Kagome handed him the small bag and purse. They were pushed in with the other bags. The boy had an odd look on his face as she pulled herself up into the back.
Kagome sighed as she saw just how little room they really did have. This was going to be hell. The seat had been pushed up all the way to fit the grill in back. If she sat all the way up she’d be necking with Shizuru. Not to mention hugging the seat. Without looking back she planted herself on his knees turning her own legs towards the middle. Maybe she could lean back on the door, just have to make sure it was locked. She wouldn’t allow him to become tempted and open it while Shizuru was going over eighty.
Yusuke felt her sit down but at the very edge of his knees. If she moved up any she’d be in the driver’s seat. Was being close to him that bad? The door closed and she turned to hit the lock. He had to grin at the motion. He might not like her but he wouldn’t throw her out. As the engine started he got comfortable. Pushing on his shoes, they slid off to land next to her feet. Her blue eyes glared at him but it went ignored. If he had to sit in the car for most of the day, he’d damn well be comfortable. Besides he had on socks.
Kagome hoped his feet didn’t stink. Though the idea did have merit. Leaning over she did the same before settling back against the door. The radio was turned on by Kuwabara as they began moving. She closed her eyes and prayed that Shizuru didn’t do the speed limit and that there wasn’t much traffic. The clock in front flashed just a tad after three.
Kagome was in hell! The clock was now showing after seven and they’d only gotten two hours into their trip. Kuwabara had to stop twice at a rest stop because he’d drank too many soft drinks. Then over an hour and half ago the traffic had come to a complete stop. Thinking it faster Shizuru had gotten onto a main highway. The radio had reported on a serious accident. A semi-truck had turned over and at least ten cars had piled up. She was just glad she’d went to the bathroom during the last stop. It had given her a chance to stretch her legs and get the kink out of her back. Sitting straight up was hell on her spine but she refused to lean on him. He looked comfortable, she wanted to deck him. Her ass was going numb from sitting in this position. There was no look of it clearing up anytime soon either. The radio was now saying they were working on clearing it up now. The injured had been carted to the nearest hospital but to expect delays for another hour. Just her luck.
Yusuke frowned as the girl stared forward. She couldn’t be comfortable sitting in that position. He kept seeing her fidgeting and then rubbing her back. She was lucky the spine hadn’t snapped in two with how straight she was sitting up. Whenever she’d try to lean back against the door, it only lasted several minutes before she gave up. At this rate she’d be in serious pain before they arrived. Reaching up he grabbed her around the waist. She grunted but was yanked back up against his chest. “I’m not going to bite you. Lean back and relieve your back for a while.”
Kagome was going to give him a good chewing out but the words lodged in her throat. Kuwabara had turned around to look at them. It didn’t matter if he had a point, she didn’t want to get close to him. Still, it felt good when she gave in and leaned back against him. She was glad it was getting dark quick and she couldn’t see his face clearly. Hell if he was offering himself as a chair she’d take it. Her back was thankful for it even if her heart and mind didn’t like it. Shifting some she turned so she could lay her head on his shoulder, giving him most of her weight. It didn’t seem to phase him. She was draped across his lap now, his hand gripping her knees. Without turning her head she couldn’t see the traffic in front of them or keep up with the time.
He felt her shift and get comfortable rubbing her ass against his thighs. The groan was suppressed as it stirred him. This wasn’t the time for it. A hand was placed on her knees and behind her back to keep her still. Her head was resting on his shoulder, no doubt so she wouldn’t be so close to his face. Kuwabara began complaining as another car began honking it’s horn. The two siblings began bickering over his tantrum. He sighed knowing it was going to be a long evening. The girl in his arms snuggled deeper into his embrace. It shocked him when her arm moved to snake over his middle. Was she asleep?
Kagome blushed but couldn’t help it. Laying against him was making her tension ease. It felt a lot better than she’d thought it would. The feeling of being safe consumed her. She’d snuggled deeper against him before she’d thought about it. Her body had done what had felt natural. How could being held by him feel so right? It didn’t matter that he was only doing it so they’d both be comfortable on the ride. Giving in she wrapped her arm around his middle to complete the position. Instead of protesting the arm around her back tightened.
Yusuke felt her relax in his arms. The moron in front of him continued to raise his voice in aggravation. The car finally began to move slowly, they moved only a few feet but it felt like a mile. It meant that traffic was beginning to move again. The tip of her hair was brushing against his hand as she tilted her head. She’d pulled it back into ponytail. He preferred it down but wasn’t about to tell her so. Reaching up his fingers latched onto a few strands. That got her attention and she turned to face him. Doing so brought her mouth within inches of his own. His heart began to pound seeing how close she was.
Kagome swallowed the lump in her throat. She could feel his breath against her lips. All she’d have to do was lean forward, he was right there. Her tongue shot out to wet her suddenly dry lips. Would he freak out if she were to close the distance between them? Just because they’d slept together didn’t mean he wanted anything to do with her now. If she made a fool of herself now the rest of her trip would be ruined. She sighed as the hand left her hair to begin rubbing her back. It sent shivers down her spine and she leaned in.
He waited to see what she’d do. He wouldn’t try kissing her and have her flip out in the car. When she leaned forward and stopped right before she found his mouth, he almost sighed in disappointment. The sound of her quick intake of breath was heard as they both waited. Taking the chance he captured her mouth. The touch was light but ignited his senses. The lips were soft and smooth, opening to allow his tongue to glide between them. The kiss was gentle and slow as he explored her mouth. He felt her meet him halfway. Everything around him seemed to disappear as she returned the kiss. The feeling of being light-headed made him almost dizzy as his arms tightened around her.
“Dammit, you could have gotten in there Sis!” The voice broke them apart. She jerked away as Yusuke swore loud enough for the two up front to hear. Kagome felt herself blushing and was thankful they couldn’t see it.
“Shut the hell up Kuwabara, you’re bitching isn’t going to help. Just let her drive.” Yusuke felt like wringing his neck. Dammit, that kiss had been unlike any he’d ever experienced. He was sure she’d been stroking his soul with each swipe of her tongue. Having it rudely interrupted by the baka did nothing for his temper. “Kagome was trying to get some rest. Try staying quiet the rest of the trip.”
Kagome felt the man turn to her and frown. True, she’d been trying to relax but sleeping was the last thing on her mind. What had he just done to her? The kiss had been short but amazing. It had been different from the other night. Shizuru asked if she was okay as both glanced back. Not wanting to cause a scene she quickly responded. “I’m fine, just a little tired. It’s also getting kind of cold.” She couldn’t suppress the shiver that ran down her spine. It had nothing to do with the temperature.
“Oh, here.” Kuwabara unzipped the small bag at his feet. His fingers found the thin material and pulled it out. It wasn’t much but would keep the girl warm. It was kind of stuffy inside to him but he wasn’t a chick. The temperature had dropped outside but he was fine. “This should help some.”
Kagome couldn’t do anything but grab the blanket. Leaning back against him again he helped her spread it out. She wasn’t sure if she should be thankful for the interruption. Settling back down, she got back into her former position. Her lips felt swollen from the kiss. Disappointment still lingered but she couldn’t bring herself to regret it. Was she a fool for enjoying being in the arms of Keiko’s ex?
Yusuke let his hand go back to stroking her back as she snuggled against him. At least Kuwabara hadn’t completely ruined the mood. He’d been pissed if she would have went back into soldier mode. He liked having her where she was. The blanket was pulled completely over her, leaving only her head exposed. Her face was planted in his neck, the hot breath brushing against him. A hand was pressed into his chest. The need to touch her was strong, intensifying the longer she remained against him.
Kagome felt his hand running up her thigh. The heat easily felt through the pants. Her whole body flamed under the touch. Her breath quickened when it came close to her center. Her stomach tightened in anticipation while she remained frozen. Would he really touch her? Did she want him to touch her? The fingers brushed up against her hot core. Gods, how she wanted him to touch her. She called herself a few choice names but didn’t make a sound as the fingers were brought back in contact with her. They pushed up against the folds, that ached beneath the cloth. She could feel the tightening in her as he began to rub and press. Going against all common sense her legs opened wider to allow him better access.
Yusuke groaned into her hair when he was able to cup her fully. Her scent filled his nostrils as he inhaled deeply. The two up front was concentrating on moving along with the traffic. He was suddenly glad that night had fallen. Neither were aware of what was taking place under the blanket. They were speaking in hushed tones, believing his lie about the girl trying to get some rest. He released her long enough to find the edge of the sweats. The elastic was pushed aside as his hand dipped in. He almost groaned aloud feeling the cotton panties blocking his path. Grabbing the seem he pulled it aside, not caring that he felt the material tear.
Kagome buried her face deeper as his fingers ran over her wet folds. Fingers tightened around his waist as the digit found the small bundle of nerves. She kept her eyes closed, unable to focus on anything but the feelings he was causing. The finger stayed on her clit, rubbing until she felt the tension building fast. When she jerked against the hand it left her long enough to push a finger between the fold. It didn’t stop until it was firmly embedded inside her warmth. Her muscles tightened around it, wanting to feel the friction of movement. The hand on her back tightened as she became aware of Shizuru speaking.
Yusuke pulled the finger out slightly to tease, then back in. “She’s sleeping, we’ll wait in the car. I don’t want to wake her.” He spoke loud enough for them both to hear. The vehicle was moving now and they planned to stop and get gas. The girl remained still in his arms but he knew she was aware of everything. His cock strained inside the jeans, feeling the heat coming from the girl. She was so close but might as well been miles away. Adjusting slightly he pushed his middle finger deep inside her. She still felt incredibly tight around him as he pumped the digit. As they pulled into the gas station he applied his thumb. It found the swollen nerve and she gasped.
Kagome didn’t dare open her eyes. He was pulling waves of pleasures from her body. The hand was being extremely gentle and it was driving her insane. She was so close to finding completion but he held off. Each thrust of the finger brushed against her spot. She almost jerked up when the vehicle came to a stop. The hand on her back kept her still. Kuwabara’s voice filled the van as he asked Yusuke if he needed anything from inside. Kagome felt relief when two doors shut leaving them alone.
Yusuke waited until their backs were turned and walking into the busy station. The back windows were tinted so he knew they were safe for a few minutes. He looked down as she lifted her head up to gaze up at him. Without thinking he captured her mouth in a hot kiss. All the pent up passion he was holding in came forth. His tongue stabbed between her lips as he pushed another finger inside. Finally, she began to moan in his mouth. He licked her bottom lip as she began to shake. “Cum for me Kagome, imagine it was me buried deep inside you.”
She felt the tension snap as he spoke. What she wouldn’t give for it to be him. The fingers stretched her as she let it wash over her. His name tumbled off her lips as she trembled in release. His mouth found hers again. This kiss was hot and held a promise. Her body jerked in response. Just as she began to calm down he frowned while looking out.
Yusuke didn’t want to stop where they were but had to. He was aching for release, needing to find it with her. Hearing her moan his name, pulled at his heart strings. His body wanted to claim her. “They are coming back. Do you need to go inside?”
Kagome only nodded as the hand was removed. Taking a few seconds to pull herself together she heard him unlock the door. The cold air blew in as the door opened. It cooled her heated skin but did nothing to calm her nerves. She could feel him hard and thick against her thigh. Looking up into his eyes, she read the message. It wasn’t over. Feeling weak she let him maneuver so she could get out. Her legs felt like rubber as she stood outside. Taking a deep breath she prayed she’d make it to the bathroom without falling on her face.
Kagome felt herself being nudged awake and fought against it. She didn’t want to wake up. The arms around her tightened as a voice filled her ears. Her eyes opened and she remembered where she was. The last thing she recalled was climbing back into the car after going inside the store. Kuwabara had come out with drinks and something to snack on. Declining both, she’d gotten back comfortable. This time she’d sat facing forward and had placed her back against his chest. His arms had wrapped around her, holding her tight. As she gazed out the window she must have fallen asleep.
Looking out the window now she could see the lights shining inside the cabin. Keiko’s car was parked next to them. The door was opened so she could step out. Her legs cramped up as she stood. A hot bath would feel really good. The door opened and the couple came out to greet them. Questions of why they were so late filled the night sky. She took the time to see what she could. The brochure had said the cabin was five bedrooms, with a kitchen, dining area, two baths, and a porch.
Yusuke grabbed his bag, then one of Kagome’s. He placed them beside the tire before digging inside. It found the small purse and her suitcase. She thanked him when he handed her the purse. Giving her a small smile he carried the three things into the cabin. His duffle bag was three times the size as hers but it had all his belongings in it. The smell of wood assaulted his nose along with incense. Looking around he decided the place was really nice. It was really clean too. The door led him into a large living room. Off to the left was the kitchen and dining area. To the right looked to be a hallway, to the rooms?
Kagome stepped in behind him. The place looked to be homey. There was a fire going making it toasty. Walking past him she decided to find a room. The hallway went down a few feet then split off into a T. Three doors were to the left, four to the right. She gave in and went to the right. Footsteps echoed behind her, as he trailed behind. The first door to her left was what she choose. It was across from the bathroom and near the hallway. It opened allowing her to see inside once the light was on. It was small but had a full size bed and a dresser. Clean sheets were already placed on the mattress.
“Guess I’ll take the one next door.” Yusuke deposited the luggage and she jumped. She looked nervous as he spoke. She stood there fidgeting. Giving her a quick nod he walked out of the room to find his own. The bathroom was directly across from her. There was a room next door to hers and the other diagonally across beside the bathroom. As he stepped inside he knew why he’d chosen this one. A door connected both rooms, she was right on the other side. He also didn’t like the idea of Kuwabara being in here. He’d spotted the wooden door and had guessed to where it led. Had she?
Walking over to the bed he tossed his bag onto the mattress. Digging through it he found what he was looking for. What he needed was to go find some food then a hot shower. No need to take a cold one. He could hear her moving around on the other side. He’d be going through that door later as long as she didn’t lock it. Would she?
Kagome grabbed herself some fresh clothes before heading across into the bedroom. Keiko spoke to her as she entered the hallway. Guilt coursed through her veins when the girl came up to her all smiles. It didn’t matter if they’d been broken up for so long. It still felt kind of wrong knowing she was attracted to the girl’s ex. She had been the one to get Keiko to break up with him. Sure she hadn’t held a gun to her head but had told the girl some advice. Without it they’d probably still be together. How could she turn around and go after the same guy she’d told her friend wasn’t good enough? Good enough? She wasn’t so sure anymore. True he probably didn’t have a job. But money wasn’t everything, not to her. She had enough money left from her father she’d be okay. Keiko hadn’t been happy right? So she’d said nothing wrong. Seeing the married couple together they were crazy in love and happy. So why did she feel so bad now? Was it because she had played part in that break up and was now wanting the guy in question?
Did she want a relationship with him? No, that wouldn’t be possible. Out of the sexual department the boy had yet to speak to her. Yelling at her didn’t count. She was surprised he had been nice enough to carry her things in. Then again Keiko had been outside watching. He’d want to appear as Mr. Nice Guy. While her head was telling her it was best to stay away from him her body didn’t want that. It had felt so wonderful being held by him. Should she be a fool and take whatever he had to offer? “The ride wasn’t too bad. Though I need a shower then maybe some thing to eat. They bought some snacks but I think Kuwabara ate all those.”
“Yeah, leave it to him to eat all the food. Well, go ahead and take the shower first. We have are preparing a late dinner now.” Keiko could see the tension around the lines of Kagome’s mouth. Had something happened on the trip here? Shizuru had said she’d been forced to make Kagome sit in Yusuke’s lap. Had he been rude to her or a pervert? The latter wouldn’t shock her. The girl was attractive and Yusuke, well he was Yusuke. The door opened to his room and she glanced over giving him a hard stare.
“What?” He caught the look being sent his way. What the hell had he done to receive such a look? He doubted Kagome had told the girl what had occurred between them. Maybe Keiko was just in a pissy mood. That goodie goodie man of hers not doing the job? Not his problem, his eyes flickered to the other girl; she was. She’d become one since he’d lain eyes on her at that church. His stomach growled reminding him of why he’d come out. “When’s dinner?”
Kagome walked inside the bathroom needing to get away from those intense brown eyes. She’d almost accuse them of being puppy eyes but they belonged to no one timid and shy. He was more like a wolf stalking her. Always in the back of her thoughts, ready to spring if she let her guard down. The shower was very small, she was glad her ass wasn’t any bigger. How the hell did they expect her to shave? Groaning she went to work removing her clothes. When she got to her panties she had the urge to go through them in his face. They were ruined! He was going to buy her some more. Ruining her under garments was becoming a habit of his. Soon she was naked except for the rosary wrapped around her slender throat. It was very small but much like Inuyasha’s. It had been made by Keade before returning to her time.
That night Inuyasha had come to her after it was all over. Within minutes he’d broken her heart and left her alone. Sango had tried to comfort her as she walked back into Keade’s crying. The hanyou had said his piece. He didn’t want to risk being with her. With the jewel returned to her body he demanded that she return home where she’d be safe. Away from him. She’d waited two days for him to return and take back the hurtful words. The third morning she’d asked Keade about protecting the jewel in her time without having Inuyasha there. The houshi and miko had went to work creating a rosary strong enough to hide the power contained within the jewel. Before it had been placed on her they had explained the effects. Not only would it stop the jewel’s presence but her natural powers as well. The trick was it was using her powers to work. So she couldn’t sense anything nor would anyone be able to sense her power or that of the jewel. It made sense to her. If they all thought her to be just another normal human then she wouldn’t have to worry about the jewel being hunted.
Two years the ward had worked, it was her life saver. She couldn’t imagine the horror of the Shikon being brought up once more. Running around play the super hero didn’t sit well with her any longer. That part of her life was over now, buried with the silly girl she had once been. It didn’t do well to dwell on such things. Her hand went up to land on the precious necklace. Not once had she taken it off. It would remain on her until the day she died. Only the power of her soul could remove it. No need to worry about it breaking due to an accident.
Yusuke was sitting at the table listening to Kuwabara and Ahiko talk about business. The subject was boring and almost alien to him. Shizuru and Keiko were cooking not far away. His eyes roamed the hall waiting for her to get out. He needed a shower. Shizuru said she was going next but he didn’t mind waiting. It would give him time to eat dinner. He stifled a yawn as he leaned back in the chair. He smiled remembering the way she’d slept so soundly in them. Her tiny hand had clenched his shirt as she whimpered in her sleep. He wondered what it was she dreamed about.
As the settings were being placed the girl came out wearing a long white t-shirt and pajama shorts. Nothing sexy about the choice in clothing but he found it appealing on her just the same. She was using a towel to dry her hair as she walked into the living room. His eyes followed her every move until she went back into the bathroom. When she re-emerged is was with the hair pulled back.
“Time to eat.” Kuwabara waited for everyone to sit down before grabbing the plate of sliced vegetables. He didn’t know about everyone else but he was starving. He doubted Urameshi had noticed how long the trip took while necking with the girl. The man should be ashamed of himself, making a move on Keiko’s friend. He wasn’t stupid like everyone thought, he’d seen the way the man had been holding her. The bastard had looked like a cat that had just found a bowl of cream. Yeah, he’d been getting off on the girl sitting in his lap. Not that he could blame him, the girl was really pretty. Wasn’t as nice as his Yukina but attractive. He just hoped Urameshi knew what he was doing.
Kagome took the food offered to her. Not being too hungry she only took small portions. If she ate like the three men around the table she’d have a wide ass. It wasn’t that small as is, she’d waddle if she ate that much at one sitting. But the men happily piled the food on as if they hadn’t eaten in months. Thankfully Kuwabara was sitting between her and Yusuke. She didn’t think she could handle sitting next to him right now. Not when her emotions were still running rampant. Just knowing he was there was causing havoc. Maybe one day soon she’d figure out what it was about him that was drawing her to him. Like a moth to the flame, she felt her soul being tugged. “Thanks.” She took the glass of tea Keiko pushed her way.
“So what kind of necklace is that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without it.” Kuwabara turned his attention to the girl next to him. His hand reached out to touch the strange wear. As his fingers landed on the small beads he felt an something pricking his fingers. Frowning he let go. Where did it come from. It wasn’t gold or the fancy stuff his sister liked to wear.
“Oh, it’s a rosary. I’ve had it for a while now. My family comes from a long line of houshi. I’ll just say it’s suppose to protect me from harm.” Kagome wiped her mouth and sighed. That was the understatement of the year. It kept her from being hunted down like a dog. It kept her sane as well. Fighting over the jewel that refused to leave her wasn’t how she wanted to spend her life. One day she wanted a husband and family of her own. Someone to cherish and hold through out the night. She wasn’t that much different from Kikyou. The woman had wanted a normal life, so did she. Seemed the jewel liked to curse the women that held it in their possession.
“Really?” Ahiko stared at the plain piece and nodded. “In my studies I’ve read many old text about mystical powers. I’m intrigued by the ancient folklore about the past. My family was also of the houshi line but it died out over a century ago. My grandfather use to tell me tales though. Of a great ancestor of mine. Said he was a great man that helped save the world against a great evil. Course, my mother didn’t believe in such things but I always listened intently. He use to speak of things called youkai, my mother called them monsters. Said they once roamed the land and were powerful. My ancestor fought against them, even married his wife that was said to be a hunter of these things. I’m not sure how much of that is true. If I remember correctly they fought over an artifact of great value to many. A pearl or jewel of some sort, that many coveted. Let me see if I can remember what it was called. Shi... give me a minute.”
“Shikon no Tama,” Kagome finished it for him. It was a name she’d never forget. How the hell could she when the thing was firmly implanted in her side. Staring up at his face she had to wonder if he was from someone she knew. Two people that she had held dear to her heart. She could never tell them that but was nice to know someone from that line. “That class of people were known as the Tiajiya, youkia exterminators. The clan was destroyed by one that wanted the jewel for his own. They had several of the shards within the village.”
“Yeah, that’s how the tale went but how did you know? Wait never mind I’m sure your grandfather must know all about it then. Is he into all the houshi stuff.” He placed his fork on the table and listened intently. Maybe he’d be able to complain about his family with someone that could understand. His father had believed it all but hadn’t been allowed to talk about it in front of his mother.
“Hell yes, Gramps is most definitely into all of it. He swears his wards are the best but I know better. He told me the tale of the Shikon years ago. Believe me I know the story well.” Kagome took a sip of her tea. Too well for her liking since she had lived it. Should she tell him that most likely it had been his ancestor that had made this rosary around her neck? They’d start searching her room for whatever liquor she had stashed. No one believed in youkai in this era. They were a thing of the past.
“Yes, then can you fill me in on a few parts that I found confusing. Maybe my father just had it wrong. If you don’t mind of course, I’m sure we are boring the others.” He looked to his wife who had an odd look on her face. Everyone was staring at them with the same look. Well just because they didn’t believe in the super-natural. He for one believed in ghosts and strange things happened due to some unknown force. When Kagome smiled and nodded he felt elated. “Okay, I was always told that when my ancestor was around that the jewel had been previously burned with it’s first guardian. The miko that had protected it died at her lover’s hand and then requested it to be burned. So, how did it come back fifty years later to be shattered?”
ME! Kagome groaned at the question. She couldn’t answer that way. Hell how could she answer? Best to watch what she said. “Well the miko was named Kikyou and when the jewel was burned with her body it came back in her reincarnation. The jewel was reformed in this girl’s body. One day she was attacked by a youkai that sensed it. She was the one that shattered the jewel the day after it was ripped out of her side.” Bloody hell, and did it hurt. She could still remember that bitch biting down on her like she was born in a barn.
“Interesting but that don’t fit in with what I was told. My dad always said the girl to be the jewel’s next guardian had come from the future. But we all know time travel isn’t possible.” He watched her face turn white before she began choking on the tea. Kuwabara jumped up to start pounding her on the back.
Kagome felt the tears well in her eyes as she fought to breath around the drink. She was going to kill that pervert. The fucker could have left that part out in his tales to his family. Sango must have beat him over the head one time too many. Her lungs stung along with her back as he pounded on her. “Stop, you are breaking my spine.”
She gagged but was able to breath. Everyone stared as her face turned beet red. That could have gone over more smoothly. His words had caught her completely off guard. She hadn’t been expecting that. Damn if only he knew how wrong he was. Seemed Miroku had been smart enough to leave the well out of his stories. Probably because he didn’t want his kids jumping in and breaking their necks trying to travel through time. She could be thankful for that. “Sorry, it went down the wrong tube.”
Seeing that she was okay he continued. “Yes, as I was saying this girl was supposed to be from the future. Talk was of her strange behavior and dress. There is even an old drawing hanging on my grandfather’s wall. It was one he would have drawn but it greatly resembles a bike. He drew it to show his kids one of the strange things the girl had shown him. So tell me do you believe that any of it could be true. If we are to believe such tales then it would mean that the girl was born in this era. Possibly still alive now.”
“No, I’m not so sure about that now.” Kagome didn’t want to panic but he was waving his hands while talking; clearing getting into the topic. Wow, he really was into history and the super-natural. Everyone else was still listening, she’d swear she heard Yusuke snicker. Someone like him wouldn’t believe in that type of thing. If he couldn’t play it on a machine it wasn’t real. “If we were to believe in the time travel then we’d have to believe in these youkai.”
“Well, I don’t know about monsters but dinner was real good.” Kuwabara belched loudly to emphasis the point. Rubbing his stomach he tried to change the subject. The didn’t need Kagome and Ahiko to learn that they did exist and one was sitting at the table with them.
Kagome was glad for the reprieve. “Yes, I think I’m going to call it a night and get some sleep.” Chairs were pushed back as they began cleaning up the dishes. Keiko and Shizuru told Yusuke to go ahead and take the shower while they cleaned. Seeing her chance to escape she bid them all a goodnight. No one stopped her as she made her way to the dark room.
An hour later she began dozing off. The bed was kind of hard but would do. Hugging the pillow she had to will herself to fall asleep. She should be tired but was having trouble not thinking. Chances were she had been sitting at the table with Miroku and Sango’s descendant. She thought to ask him what of the tales of the hanyou that had traveled with them but didn’t want to know. Inuyasha was in the past, best to leave him there. She didn’t want to know of his fate. It was better if she pictured him alive and well.
Just as her eyes closed, she heard the sound of a door opening. Instantly alert she scanned the room. There was light shining under the door from the hallway. It allowed her to see the man coming in from the joint room. Groaning she turned back over. Maybe he’d go away if she ignored him. She didn’t know if she could take his hands on her. If he touched her she knew where it would lead.
Her body came to life at the thought. ‘Great, I’m turning into a slut.’ She should be yelling at him to get out. That would bring the others in then he’d have to explain what he was doing there. She should have known he’d be making an appearance. His eyes had spoken volumes. Her body responded as he walked over to the bed. There was no reason for him to be here. As the bed tipped under his weight she sighed. As her mind screamed for him to get out she could still feel his fingers on her. The image was back in full force, informing her just why she wouldn’t be sending him away. Despite knowing it was wrong she wanted it to happen. It made her wrong in many ways but should she even care now? She’d given up everything in the past and had been left with nothing. Was it wrong for her to take the pleasure he was offering? The ache had already returned between her legs knowing what was to come.
Yusuke was relieved when she didn’t tell him to get the hell out. It had taken half an hour for him to get up the courage to open that door. Telling himself he was a baka for wanting to come in here and seduce Keiko’s friend. That’s exactly what he wanted to do. Raizen’s words came back to haunt him. His ancestor had only spent one night with the woman that had captured his heart. ‘I told you, it was her eyes.’ Is this the feeling that had drove the man to slowly die over a woman? Right before the man had died he had asking Yusuke if he’d ever been in love. His answer had been, ‘I guess.’ What an idiot he’d been. The dying man had been trying to explain how one emotion could consume the soul. Was that emotion the same one that had filled him since seeing the girl standing there? He barely knew anything about her but couldn’t stop thinking about her.
Kagome felt the hand land on her side as he came to rest next to her. “You’re naked!” The accusation came out in a harsh whisper. His body was pressed into her, as they spooned. Nothing but her clothes separated them. The hard shaft was pressing against the swell of her ass. It throbbed as she shifted. The hands wasted no time in removing the bottoms along with her panties. She squeaked as the panties were pulled down. At least he didn’t tear them this time. His mouth landed on the shell of her ear. The hot tongue began to lick the sensitive skin.
The hips in front of him pushed back for more contact. He’d been planning on coming in here and take his time with her. It wasn’t working out that way. Moisture was dripping out the tip of his sex in anticipation. His fingers found the wet folds as she picked the leg up. The tension from the ride was back in force, reminding him of the need to cum. Not wanting to rush things he tried to pull away from her. Her hand came around to grab his hip and pull him back towards her.
Kagome felt the loss of contact. The hot skin had melted against her setting her own on fire. When he yanked away she felt cheated. Her hand snaked out to pull him back wanting to keep him close. The tip rubbed against her ass as his hand pulled the top leg up and over his. A large hand held onto her hip as he thrust forward. The tip found her entrance and forced it’s way inside her tight passage. There was no pain this time just the feeling of him filling her. How could she even imagine that his fingers were him? The two didn’t compare as he brought his hips closer to her.
Yusuke heard the soft growl echoing in his chest as he slid deeper inside. Every nerve in his body seemed to be located in his groin. She held him so tight, the feeling caused the blood to heat up. Remembering she wasn’t used to him yet, he took his time. Waiting until he was fully embedded before pulling back out. The return thrust was just as slow. The walls flexed around him but let him enter without trouble. Each entry was quicker than the last.
Kagome moaned at the sweet friction. Using her elbow as leverage she began to push back to meet each thrust. It brought him deeper, striking against her spot. She couldn’t suppress the noises coming from her throat as he sped up. The bed began to rock as he slammed against her bringing her to the point of completion. The tension snapped the same time he gave a few final pumps. She felt him pulsing inside as she let the waves roll to a stop.
~~~~ Four days later~~~~
Kagome leaned back against the plastic chair. The night was very beautiful, a perfect night for a camp fire. The week had gone smoothly mostly. If she didn’t count her feelings and the late night visits. The others were enjoying themselves. Activities were enjoyed daily. Yesterday they had cooked out and made a night of watching horror movies. Today had been another cook out but the night was spent around a large camp fire. Talking went around the small space.
Keiko was sitting on Ahiko’s lap, Shizuru was stretched out on a lawn chair, Kuwabara and Yusuke were sharing a log that had been pulled from the woods. Kagome had planted herself in the other lawn chair. Now relaxing with her eyes closed she spoke up whenever she chose to. The topic now was one of history. It was a touchy subject for her so she remained silent. The only bright spot was that Yusuke hadn’t cursed her out again. It had happened the second day of the trip. He’d already came to her room twice, each time they’d slept together. She knew she should tell him no but couldn’t bring herself to turn him away.
They’d been in the kitchen doing the dishes. Her feelings had been raw and her temper on edge. She’d started feeling used due to his attitude during the day. He’d leave right after they were done. During the day he wouldn’t speak to her. Hell he wouldn’t even look in her direction. It was as if she didn’t exist until he felt like getting a nut. She was beginning to hate herself for giving into him. So preoccupied with her thoughts she sliced her finger open with the steak knife she’d been washing. Cursing she yanked her hand out of the water. He’d reached for the wounded finger but she pulled away claiming to be fine. Something had zipped past her head. The sound of glass shattering echoed through the kitchen. A broken plate lay in pieces not far from them. She’d stared in shock that he’d thrown it past her. Had he been aiming for her head? His tirade had begun as she stood in silence.
His words echoed through her mind, “You stupid bitch. I was just seeing if you were okay. You don’t have to be so uptight. It’s not like I want to fucking touch you. Finish the dishes yourself. If Keiko asks just tell her I can’t stand to be around you, she’ll understand.” Kagome hadn’t been able to stop the tears that began to fall. It hurt to hear him say what she already knew in her heart. Running to the bathroom she locked the door and let herself cry. The last time she’d cried had been the day she returned home. The pain this time was just as intense. It hurt knowing she couldn’t turn him away but he wanted nothing more from her. Since then he hadn’t come near her except at night. Then the sex was still passionate but rough. Her body craved his touch, no matter how it was delivered.
She let her eyes land on him for a quick second before looking away. He was once again staring at Keiko with a tender look in his eyes. What she wouldn’t give to have him look at her with just a small amount of those emotions. She’d seen him glance her way once as they’d sat down around the fire and wished she hadn’t. Putting her chair down she glanced back quickly and he’d been standing there watching her. There was only one thing could be said about the emotions swirling. It was so strong there was only one word for it; hate. He was looking at her with disgust and hatred. For a second she wanted to step aside and see if someone else had caught his attention. Glancing around no one else was near. That look had been solely for her alone.
Closing her eyes she tried to think about something else. Anything to keep her mind from wondering to the man sitting across the fire. Her head snapped to the side as Shizuru suddenly sat up in the seat. The girl was looking out into the night. Kagome turned in that direction but couldn’t see anything.
“Something’s wrong.” She couldn’t see anything but she knew better than to ignore her instincts. Something was out there. It felt like something dangerous was headed straight towards them. Kuwabara was seated next to her with Yusuke on the other side. Keiko was sitting on the seat Ahiko had just vacated to walk inside.
Kagome sat up but didn’t move. Yusuke and Kuwabara tensed up as well. She cursed under her breath, knowing she wouldn’t detect anything. Not with the ward subduing her powers. Should she try to make it to the house? It was only about forty feet away. Just as she began to stand, there was a loud hissing sound. She faintly heard the others scream. Her head turned to see Yusuke quickly grab Keiko then he was gone. Kuwabara and Shizuru were nowhere in sight as the ground around her exploded.
Her ears rang as waves of pain washed over her. Something hot was washing over her in waves. She felt herself collapse as dust covered her sight. Her limbs screamed as she hit the ground. Another blast shook around her bringing more pain. Something warm gushed from her mouth as she tried to cry out. What was happening to her? Loud noise echoed around her with screaming but it all seemed far away. Vision blurred as her head began to swim. She took a deep breath feeling another wave of pain hit her in the back. Just as her world began to black out she felt someone roughly jerk her up by the edge of her jeans.
Kuwabara grabbed Yusuke’s arm as another series of blast was sent their way. Keiko and Shizuru hid behind them. If the boy ran out there it would leave the girl uncovered. He couldn’t protect them alone. As things were he was barely able to keep the blasts from knocking him down. They slammed into him but he ignored the pain. Yusuke’s power began to flare as the efforts of their attackers increased. Nothing could be seen in the distance but clouds of dirt. He knew the other girl was still out there. In his haste he’d only grabbed his sister before they began. Silently he prayed she was okay.
Yusuke shook off the hand holding him. Dammit, if he left then the blasts would surely get past Kuwabara’s weak shielding. It would mean leaving Keiko and Shizuru to be harmed, if not killed. He heard himself calling out but the girl didn’t answer him. His eyes burned as the blasts finally began to recede. Just as quick as they’d begun they stopped. Swearing he scanned the area. The culprits were running away at a fast speed. “They’re gone.”
“KAGOME!” Shizuru pushed past her brother and ran towards the barely recognizable campfire. Ahiko came rushing out of the house to wrap his arms around Keiko. She could feel great sadness and pain as she entered the now vacant area. The chairs were torn apart, nothing much left to him. Kagome had been left here. Reaching down she wiped the dark fluid coating a piece of separated plastic. Yusuke and Kuwabara were beside her staring off into the woods. “It’s blood.”
Kagome felt herself being roughly tossed around like a sack of potatoes. Her body ached like she’d been run over by Gramp’s electronic wheelchair. As she tried to move she felt it consume her. Never mind a truck had plowed into her. She hoped they had insurance. A strange scent filled her nose. It was strong like copper but stronger. Groaning she tried to focus her mind. She didn’t remember taking a stroll down main street in the middle of rush hour. Her mind brought up a picture of Yusuke standing up suddenly then grabbing Keiko around the waist.
‘Yes, I was standing there then the pain had begun. Where had the others gone? Yusuke grabbed Keiko then he was gone. Wait a minute they left me there! Those assholes had moved when Shizuru said something was wrong. Nice to know how important I am. Lucky for me, I don’t need them to save me. But I feel like hell and who the fuck has me?’ Her body still refused to move as she was tossed onto the ground. There was bickering around her.
“I say we eat the bitch now. We shouldn’t wait until we reach the Makai. We’ve come this far, let’s get it over with. I doubt any of those human scum will come after us. We should have grabbed some of the others. This girl is hardly a meal.”
What?! They were going to eat her? Like hell they would. They should have grabbed one of the others if they wanted lunch. That’s right they were pulled to safety, only she’d been left to defend herself. Right good job she was doing of it too.
“I say we wait and the others agree. Don’t play ignorant, we saw who was at that camp. That was Raizen’s heir standing there. We will be lucky to make it to the Makai before he hunts us down. Don’t be a fool and underestimate him. We will press on, I refuse to die in this stinking place.”
Kagome wondered who this Raizen guy was. They sounded scared of him. Good, she hoped he beat their ass for nuking her like a frozen dinner. Not likely to happen at this rate. Opening her eyes she saw her surroundings. She was sure she felt her limbs tingling the longer she stayed on the ground. Maybe she was slowly bleeding to death and it was her nerves giving out. Well as long as they didn’t stick an apple in her mouth.
“You can wait if you want, that boy isn’t coming. We all saw him grab his human female. This girl means nothing to him. They no doubt have assumed her dead by now. There is no need for them to search and I’m starving. I haven’t eaten in over three years.”
She sighed at the words. ‘Hey that might be true buddy but you didn’t have to point it out.’ Okay, they all got it. She’d been the one left standing there like a duck in the shooting range. ‘Rub salt in the wounds while you are at it pal.’
“Fine, but the first signs of anyone coming we leave.”
NO! They didn’t want to eat her now. Kagome felt herself begin to panic as her arms twitched. She didn’t want to be some asshole’s meal. Make that a few assholes, about ten. All of them were ugly youkai with sharp fangs. This was going to hurt. She doubted they’d be kind of enough to kill her before munching down. This couldn’t be good. Her hand was finally about to move as they prepared a fire. It was blazing within minutes as one youkai began sharpening his blade. Fuckers were going to cut her up while she was still alive. The small hand was up to her breast, lingering over the small beads. Wrapping bloody fingers around the rosary she prayed. She didn’t have the strength to remove it.
The man stood up and began walking her way. Drool was hanging out the side of his mouth as he licked his lips. She almost puked at the image. Focusing she tried to tap into the power lurking just below the surface. The closer she came she felt frantic. The power was there she could feel it stirring as she gripped the rosary. Taking a deep breath she began to speak the small incantation that would allow her to tap into the dormant power.
The youkai paused as the girl spoke. The hairs stood up on end as the words washed over him. Was she some kind of witch. Whatever she was, she was about to be dead. Bringing the sword up he held it over her head. Yelling he swung the blade down in a swift arch. Just as it hit her flesh, light shot around him. Searing pain made him drop the blade as he screamed in pain.
Kagome felt it erupt around her as she saw her death. Seconds passed as it was released. The warm feeling washing over her. It felt like coming home after a long journey. That part of herself that had been long denied. Tears streamed down her face as the shouts began to silence leaving her alone.
Several minutes passed as nothing but an owl hooted. The woods sounded empty as she began to calm down. Her body still ached but she was no longer afraid of dying. She showed them bastards. The feeling began to return to her limbs. Wiping the bangs out of her eyes, she gagged when she ended up coating her face with blood. “Disgusting.”
How bad had she been injured? Besides feeling sore and weak she didn’t feel anymore pain. Neither were they. The thought made her smile. Shaking, she managed to get to her feet. Her clothes were a mess, shredded in some places. There was a large hole in her back. Dammit this had been one of her favorite sweaters. The sticky feeling of blood clung to many places. There was no doubt that it was all hers. They had tried to blow her into many pieces back there. Groaning she took a few steps forward. She could do this.
The cold air was seeping into her skin as she walked. Where she had no idea. Being out of it for the most part she had no idea which direction they’d gone. Looking up she spotted the moon and thought. It had been pointing to the east from the camp. Turning direction she went the direction she assumed the place was. Maybe she could find help somewhere. There had to be something out here in the middle of the woods. She hadn’t survived that to die now. No, she was a fighter and the guardian of the Shikon; this was a cake walk.
Dawn was rising as she exited the small patch of woods. Her body was on it’s last amount of energy. She was going to collapse soon if she didn’t stop. Seeing the cabin in the distance she almost screamed in joy. Three people were standing on the porch as she left the safety of the trees. Yes, she’d made it back safely. Her legs picked up speed as she ran. The first thing she was doing was take a bath. Hell yes, that sounded like heaven. She stumbled along and was halfway there before they spotted her.
Shizuru sensed something coming and turned. Was it Yusuke or Kuzuma? Seeing the stumbling figure making it’s way towards them she broke out in a dead run. Her heart pounded as she covered the distance. Keiko and Ahiko were on her heels as they met the girl. She caught her as the girl pitched forward. “You’re okay, thank the Gods.”
Kagome fell in her arms. Relief making her body sag. Yeah, she was just fine. Tired, bloody and smelt like death warmed over but alive. No thanks to anyone else but she was glad she’d been able to save herself. The girl holding her began to cry. Keiko threw her arms around them. “I’m fine. I showed them how it felt to be toasted.”
Keiko sat the table and stared at her husband. They were both pondering the same questions. Though she had a better clue as to what was going on. Yusuke and Kuwabara still hadn’t returned from their search. She had no way to inform them that the girl had returned. Surprisingly she was unharmed. That wasn’t right though. The bloody clothes were laying on the table between them. Yet when they’d carried her into the house and cleaned her up, not a scratch had been on her. Yet there had been blood all over the wreckage outside. It didn’t matter that they all thought her to be dead Yusuke had taken off to find her. Kuwabara had went with him just in case. Her best friend and ex had been upset finding the girl gone. She’d never seen that look of anguish cross his face.
They had spoken on what to do once they guys returned. All expecting to have to deal with Kagome’s death. Shizuru said she’d never seen him like that either. Not even when they all believed that Tuguro had killed Kuzuma. The only thing Yusuke had said before taking off was “I killed her.” Keiko felt guilt wash over her knowing Yusuke had grabbed her. Kuwabara blamed himself because he’d been closer to her. There had been no way for Yusuke to grab her and Kagome both and get out of there in time. Without realizing it he’d made his choice. She sighed when Shizuru came back to sit down. “How is she?”
“Fine but sleeping. She has to be exhausted. I don’t get it, I don’t sense anything from her. She appears no more special than me or you. There is blood all over her clothes. Her blood is still out there on the fucking furniture and ground. How the hell did she come back unharmed and alive? Yusuke and Kuwabara obviously didn’t save her.” Shizuru leaned back and felt the lack of sleep hitting. Not that she would have been able to sleep. Now they had to wait for the guys to get back. It was already after noon, Kagome was sleeping peacefully.
Keiko jumped up when the door suddenly opened and Kuwabara came in. Yusuke was trailing behind him. Neither looked happy and both tired. She sighed in relief seeing them both safe. They paused seeing them waiting. Keiko frowned and glanced towards the clothes laying on the table. She heard Yusuke’s intake of breath, “We found her.”
Shizuru frowned and thought of smacking Keiko. The boy almost crumpled to the floor at the statement. The bloody clothes couldn’t look good. Sometimes she didn’t think Keiko was as bright as everyone believed her to be. Seeing him about to break down she shouted, “She’s alive. She’s fine and sleeping in her room. She wandered back here after dawn.”
Kuwabara moved aside as he pushed past and left the kitchen heading straight for the rooms. They had searched all night for signs. After daybreak they’d found what looked to be a camp. Nothing had remained but several piles of ash. A sword had been laying next to some bloody spots. They had assumed the worst. “She’s really okay?”
“More than that, she doesn’t have a scratch on her.” Shizuru lit a cigarette and picked up the clothes. They were starting to harden as the blood dried. They all had a few questions for the girl once she woke up.
Kagome blinked several times before coming fully awake. The sound of crickets chirping filled her ears. The smell of food hit her nostrils and she realized she was very hungry. Stretching she felt the soreness of her muscles but she ignored it. Looking around the room a small candle was lit but the lights were turned off. She was alone. What had she been expecting? Yusuke? Yes, she’d fallen asleep hoping he’d be there when she woke up.
Climbing out of bed she padded across the room in her pajamas. Ignoring the state of her hair she opened the door and walked out. The talking ceased as she stepped out into the light. No one spoke until she stepped into the living room. Everyone was sitting around the living room except Ahiko. The man was in the kitchen doing dishes. Trying hard she put on a smile. ‘Oh boy, here it comes.’
“How are you feeling?” Keiko returned the smile. She was just glad to see her safe. It had pained her to even consider the girl to be lost. Hope was the one thing that had kept her from breaking down. And knowing what it would do to Yusuke. She knew the boy too well for her own good. She’d had to watch the glances he’d kept sending Kagome’s way. All week he’d been acting indifferent when he thought anyone was paying attention but she wasn’t fooled. She’d seen the longing in his eyes, the lust. When had he fallen for the girl? She wasn’t going to get upset about it. She knew they hadn’t messed around while they were together. Hell two years had passed and they weren’t a couple. So it had to be recent. It suited her fine. Kagome was a wonderful person, maybe she could make Yusuke happy.
“I’m still a little tired but feel fine. Don’t remember much.” She hoped that would stop any questions from coming. Pretend ignorance, that was a good plan. Her eyes flickered over them before landing on him. He had his arms thrown back cradling his head while glaring in her direction. He almost looked pissed when she said she was fine. Had the asshole hoped she’d die out there? Where had he been when she arrived? Out buying beer to celebrate? Well she wasn’t about to roll over and die to make him happy. She survived worse than that before and would continue to.
“You’re fine! Me and Kuwabara were out all night looking for you and you’re fine. You come strolling back in here without so much as a scratch on you. What’s with all the fucking blood on your clothes? Did you smear it on yourself to make us worry? Is that how you get your kicks? By worrying others?” Yusuke ignored Keiko as she yelled at him. The girl his anger was directed at flinched but it made him feel better. “I searched for your ass thinking you were dying if not dead. Next time do me a favor and don’t bother returning. I don’t like wasting my time, so you can try to gain attention.”
“Yusuke, that’s enough!” Keiko’s slapped him hard across the face but he didn’t flinch. His eyes never left the trembling girl.
“Fuck enough. I bet she was never even fucking taken. Those bastards probably hit one of their own men. She probably wallowed in the blood and hid until morning. No human could have bled that much and walked back just fine. Not to mention escape from about a dozen youkai. The bitch was probably laughing while we searched for her. Anything to make herself feel special. Next time I hope they kill her where she stands so I don’t have to waste my time looking for her corpse..”
Kagome felt like her heart had been ripped out and kicked around the room. She didn’t need him to say it to know he didn’t care whether she lived or died. The pain of hearing it chilled her. She willed herself not to break down and cry. Why bother defending herself. He wouldn’t believe anything she had to say. No, he believed the worst of her. Like she’d be the type of person to play that kind of game. He might not give a damn about her but Keiko did. She wouldn’t worry her friend for no reason. Would he have been happier to find her corpse laying there. Hell, he wouldn’t have found a corpse if she hadn’t saved herself. She’d have been a turd before he’d bothered to try and save her.
Ahiko walked into the room and sighed. The boy really had no tact and was stupid to boot. Why didn’t he just kiss the girl and tell her how relieved he was to see that she was fine? The poor bastard had been beside himself thinking her gone. Since returning they’d had to drag him out the room so the girl could sleep. He hadn’t wanted to leave her side, now would he have acted that way if he didn’t care? “I don’t think that’s what happened at all. I think we all know what happened. We were attacked by youkai for some strange reason. If Kagome had been an average person she’d be dead. There is only one thing I want to know. How did you do it?”
“Do what?” Kagome frowned unsure of what he was asking. Did he want to know how she’d escaped or healed herself or both? She flinched feeling Yusuke’s eyes burning into her. At least someone didn’t think she was a nasty bitch.
“How did you manage to travel back and forth through time? Don’t try to deny it Kagome. I see it in your eyes, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You forget I listen intently to things that catch my attention.” Seeing her fallen expression he knew he was right but wouldn’t admit it just yet. “Would you like to know something. You were the first girl I had a crush on in high school. Hojo pointed you out to me one day. He went on about how sick you were and how much he liked you. Something about you drew me then. I felt as if I knew you. I told myself I had seen you somewhere before but I couldn’t place it. Now, I know. My ancestor drew one more etching, it was a likeness of the miko that once traveled with him in his quest to complete the Shikon no Tama. That girl was you. Tell me I’m wrong or tell me his name.”
She felt a heavy weight being pushed down on her chest. Should she admit to it and tell them what she really was? Most of them were her friends, people she should trust but it meant reliving her past; remembering. As she gazed up into his eyes she answered, “His name was Miroku and her name was Sango. Together we traveled with the hanyou Inuyasha and a kitsune cub named Shippou. The youkai we fought against was known as Naraku.”
“How did you travel?” Ahiko felt relieved knowing he’d been right, it had been a wild guess but had payed off. It all made sense to him, the stories as a child. This girl had been the one to complete the jewel and save his bloodline. If it hadn’t been for her he wouldn’t have been born.
“The well on my family’s shrine. It was made from the Goshinboku, the Tree of Time.” Hugging herself, she felt the chill creeping along her spine. It always came when she thought about the past. It was still painful for her to leave that all behind. She was still going through pain but caused by her own stupidity.
“My family always said that this jewel returned to the girl in which it had been reborn. Prove it Kagome, where is the jewel?” His eyes widened but he had to ask. It meant knowing that everything he’d believed been had been correct. He hadn’t been a fool for accepting his family’s history as fact.
Knowing she was taking a chance she reached up and undid the clasp that held the rosary in place. The magic pulsed as it was undone. Her hand fell to her side as the power washed over her small frame. It almost stunned her feeling it in full force. Yes, this was who she was. The Guardian of the Shikon. It almost made her smile feeling the power of the jewel, its presence was comforting. “In me. After defeating Naraku it returned to me where it belongs. This is who I am. This should answer the questions on how I survived and why I was no longer wounded. I used my own power.”
“That’s fucking insane.” Kuwabara could feel the power coming off the girl. She sighed and put the rosary back around her neck. Just as quick as it had appeared all traces of the power was demolished. He’d never felt anything like it before. He’d always thought Urameshi was impressive.
Kagome snapped it back and felt the power be pushed back down. It was still for the best that it was kept hidden. But now they knew the truth and so did she. For those few seconds she’d felt something she hadn’t in years; a youkai aura. It had been coming in front of her. It was rather impressive and had been coming from Yusuke. That’s how he was able to snatch Keiko out the way so fast, he wasn’t human. She’d also felt some human in there but he wasn’t one. Fate had been cruel to allow her to fall in love with another hanyou. History was repeating itself. “I am the reincarnation of the miko Kikyou. It was I that shattered the jewel. I began my journey at the age of fifteen.”
“So, you’re like a holy chick?” Shizuru smiled. So there had been more to her than what they saw. “Think I’ll have myself a beer. Why don’t you sit down and tell us about it.”
Kagome felt a hand on her shoulder urging her to take seat. Ahiko nodded and motioned towards the couch. She wasn’t sure what she could tell them. Her eyes flickered over Yusuke who was now staring at the floor. Before she could take a step forward, he marched past them and out of the cabin. Guess he didn’t want to hear what she had to say. Sitting down on the couch in the same spot he’d vacated she began to speak.
~~~~ Two weeks later~~~~
Kagome put the last plate in the dishwasher before turning it on. It was something to occupy her mind. Anything to keep it off of Yusuke. Keiko had just left after having dinner. Plans had been made for them to have breakfast in the morning. The girl seemed hell bent on cheering her up. How could anyone help with the hollow ache in her heart? No, there wasn’t anything to be done. Time was the only friend she had. She’d forget about him, just like Inuyasha. Keiko had come out and asked her if she had feelings for the boy.
It didn’t matter, so she’d been honest about it. She was in love with him but the feelings weren’t returned. Keiko said he was like that. He was emotionally constipated. Kagome didn’t want to get between the two by telling her the truth. That they’d slept together a few times. They’d left the next day for home. Yusuke had ridden with Keiko on the way back. She knew it was because he didn’t want to be near her. He’d made that clear. That night she’d found him outside looking up into the sky. Wanting to apologize about making him worry for nothing, she’d sought him out. He plain out told her it didn’t matter, she didn’t matter.
The doorbell rang and she glanced at the clock. It was after nine already, who’d be coming by this late? Wiping her hands dry she called out and walked towards the door. Making sure the chain was on she cracked the door. Her heart dropped seeing Yusuke standing there head bent. “Yusuke?”
“Hey, can we talk?” He peered up through the crack. Seeing her brought back all the reasons he was doing this. This was the right thing to do. The door opened to allow him in. Why the hell was he so nervous? Because he didn’t want to do this but knew he had to. It was time for him to move on. He didn’t belong here.
Kagome let him in. What would bring him to her door? He hadn’t spoken to her since that night. Unsure of what to do she backed up and waited for him to speak. Her heart ached to hold him. She was being stupid again. The need to feel his arms around her nagged as she chewed on her bottom lip. “What do you want to talk about?”
“I’m leaving in the morning. I’m sure you know by now that I’m mostly youkai. I have my own story but don’t have the time to share it. I guess one reason I couldn’t make Keiko happy is because I wasn’t happy here. I don’t belong here. I’ve already told the others, I just wanted you to know I guess.” He waited for any kind of reaction from her. Why was he even here? He’d been meaning to leave tonight. He’d told everyone but Keiko and Kagome but he’d found himself at her doorstep. She was the one he needed to see before he vanished.
Kagome felt the sting of tears at the news. Where was he going? To this Makai place where most of his kind were? Was this his way of saying she’d never see him again? Could she go on without seeing him? She’d done it with Inuyasha when he’d walked away from her without looking back. Yusuke was about to do the same. Her mind flashed back to when Inuyasha had told her how he felt and all she’d been able to do was cry. She’d let him walk away from her without even trying. Somehow she knew she wouldn’t get over Yusuke’s parting like she’d done Inuyasha’s. She hadn’t known him long but he had touched her like her first love had never managed. Knowing he was about to walk out of her life for good made the tears fall. Despite how he felt about her she loved him. “I see.”
Yusuke kept his eyes on the floor not being able to look her in the eyes. She had to feel used with how things turned out. He didn’t deserve her, this was for the best. Taking a deep breath he was ready to go. Best to just end it before she got pissed and purified him. Would she even care that he was going?
Kagome saw him take a step back. He was really about to walk out on her. She let out the harsh cry that was threatening to choke her. She threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. It made no difference that he’d still walk away when it was over. He’d go knowing how she felt. “I don’t want you to go. I love you.”
Yusuke felt his heart drop at her words. No, it wasn’t possible. She couldn’t care that deeply about him. Pushing her back, he used his fingers to lift her face. Tears were streaming down her face. Tears that were for him. He gazed into the misty blue eyes and saw it. She was hiding nothing as she stared at him. When had she begun to care for him? It made his resolve strengthen. He brought nothing but trouble and suffering to those that loved him. Look at what almost happened to her. She was better off without him. “Kagome.”
She lifted her face and met the mouth coming towards her own. As his tongue plunged in between her, arms went to lift her up. She felt him carrying her through the small apartment until he found the bedroom. She didn’t care knowing where this was going to lead. Her hand wrapped around to cup his neck holding him to her. She put all her feelings into the one kiss. Wanting him to know exactly what she felt.
He placed her on the bed and went to work on removing their clothing. Her hands went to work on his. He shuddered feeling the warm palms gliding across his bare chest. He allowed her to touch whatever she wanted. She explored his stomach the found the waist of his jeans. The fingers went to work on undoing the button. Leaning up he helped her slide the material down. His shoes came off with the jeans in one swift movement.
Kagome held her breath as he removed her clothes. Once she was lying naked he didn’t do as usual and begin the sexual encounter. His hands slid up her waist as he moved forward. Kagome returned the kiss he instigated. His hand found her breast, cupping the globe. The touch was light, the thumb teasing the taunt nipple.
Yusuke pulled away from her mouth to kiss his way down her neck. His member stiffened along with the nipple he had between his fingers. Moving down he brought his mouth down over the peak. Her back arched off the bed in response. Running his tongue over the peak he took the other globe in his palm.
She felt the tiny strings of pleasure being plucked as he bathed her nipple. His tongue was hot, bringing tiny gasps from her. Her hand ran in his hair, holding him to her. She closed her eyes feeling him leave the hard peak to go lower. The smooth lips placed small kisses down the flat surface of her stomach. His hands pushed her legs apart as he settled himself between them. The feel of his breath swept over the damp center.
Yusuke buried his nose into the scent that was all hers. He placed a kiss over the soft mound. Her hips left the bed begging for more of the contact. Sweeping his tongue across, he pushed it between the swollen lips. The taste of her filled his mouth as he licked the moisture that he’d caused.
Kagome felt the tension growing as he pushed the hot tongue between her folds to enter the throbbing passage. The knot tightened as he thrust it in and out. She kept her hand buried in his hair as he found the small jewel. The tongue lifted until it flicked over the nerve. A jolt of pleasure shot down her body, centering on where his mouth was. He teased the small bud until the tension snapped and she felt her body convulse.
Yusuke waited until she came down before climbing up her body. He captured her lips as he pushed into her. Arms wrapped around his back pulling him tight against her chest. His fingers ran through her hair, holding her mouth under his. His tongue mocked the motion of his hips as he moved slowly. Legs tightened around his waist pulling him deeper. She gasped at the feeling and he echoed it with his own. His heart clenched as he felt himself being lost in the warm embrace.
Kagome felt the difference in his hold. It was gentle instead of lust filled. This was how she wanted it to be. Reaching up she cupped his cheek, keeping her eyes locked on his face. Warm brown eyes gazed back at her. Many emotions swirled back at her. Leaning up she took his mouth. He picked up the speed as she felt her peak nearing. Her name began rolling off his tongue with each thrust.
Yusuke felt her release take over and then found his own. He memorized every line of her face as she called his name. He let his seed empty as he remained still moments after they both stopped shaking. There was a wistful look on her face that made him feel piercing pain. Before he could change his mind, he rolled off her.
Kagome frowned when he got up quickly. Pulling the cover up to hide herself she watched him put on his jeans and then the shirt. She didn’t know what to say. Part of her wanted to demand why he would make love to her then haul ass but she knew the answer. He’d given himself to her one last time because she’d asked him to. She hadn’t come out and spoken the words but her actions had done it. He’d come to say goodbye, this wasn’t going to change anything. Her confession of love wouldn’t hold him to her. She didn’t want it to unless it was returned. Still, she’d spoken her heart, she would have no regrets. “Before you leave me. I want to know something. Even in the smallest measurement; do you love me?”
The question made him tense. He didn’t know how to answer that. The feelings raging inside him hurt. He wouldn’t allow himself to analyze and accept them. No, he had to put whatever he felt aside. If it meant being cruel and telling her no, he’d leave her so she could find someone to make her happy. She’d been right all along, he was worthless. He hadn’t been able to make Keiko happy and he wouldn’t be able to make her happy either. He didn’t belong her, or with her. She was too good for him, he wasn’t worthy of her love. Taking a deep breath he pulled his shoes back on and stood up. “Tell me is it possible to love someone you’ve always hated?”
Keiko held the crying girl in her arms. Unable to do anything but give comfort. When Kagome hadn’t shown up for breakfast she’d come over to see if everything was okay. What she’d found was the door unlocked and the girl in bed crying. Her face was swollen, the bed damp and no signs of it ending anytime soon. Through sobs she listened as Kagome told her everything.
So it had begun on her wedding day. What shocked her most of all was that Yusuke had walked away from the girl with such harsh words. Guilt plagued her knowing that part of it was her fault. She had used Kagome as a crutch to ease her own feeling of failure with her and Yusuke’s relationship. Doing so had caused the man to dislike the woman before he’d ever meet her. How was she to know that they’d one day fall in love? It didn’t help appease her mind or her heavy heart. The girl in her arms was near hysterics as she cried.
Would Yusuke come back and make things right? She’d wasted so many years on him herself. Could Kagome do the same in the state she was in? True she’d been upset about Yusuke’s leaving but it hadn’t effected her this way. Was it because Kagome was the one for him? If she was, how could he just walk away like that?
‘Yusuke, you jerk! How could you do this? You should be here. Come back, don’t walk away from something special. Don’t abandon her, don’t break her heart.’ As Keiko sent the silent prayer, she knew it wouldn’t be heard. Pulling the girl closer she sighed. “He’ll be back. I know him. He’s just being an ass. Yusuke always comes back.” Deep down she prayed it was true.
His ears began to burn as he stared at the large headstone. Was he a fool? “Hey, old man.” He voice filled the air as he waited patiently. The cool air moved his air as he felt the familiar presence appear. “How’s it going?”
“I thought you were going to be gone for a while.”
“Well, things didn’t turn out that way. I went back but Keiko and I split. Then everything went to shit. Remember you asked me that one day if I’d ever been in love, I told you yes. I was wrong then. I think I know what you meant now. Why you did what you did. While I was away I met a girl. There was something about her that drew me, I noticed it the first time I looked into..”
“Her eyes.” The spirit answered for him.
“Yeah, sucks though. I came to learn she was someone very special. I didn’t deserve her, so I left. Guess I’m a lot like you after all.” He looked out into the distance wondering what she was doing now. Did she even miss him? This had to be for the best. His words came back to fill him with sorrow. Did he hate her? At one time he’d thought so. Now he knew better. Even as the love filled his heart his mind spoke. “I’m sorry Kagome. I have to hate you because it hurts too much to love you.”
Raizen watched the boy shed a tear and sighed. The boy really was an idiot. Truly he had sprung from his genes. Before disappearing he decided to leave his advice. “Listen kid, I spent a long time wishing I’d done things different. I would have done anything to see her again. I realized that after it was too late that it didn’t matter if the world would have considered me good enough. What matter is if she thinks you are. Think on it some, make sure this is what you want. If you want her, don’t let her go.”
Yusuke watched him leave. Picking up the bag he looked off into the horizon and smiled. “Yeah, I’ll think about it old man. I’ll come back and let you know how it turns out.” The sun began to descend as he let his feet carry him away from the grave.
